Where have I been?

It has been quiet here on the BBA News blog for well over a month so I wanted to give a shout out and let you all know I am not dead. I am just a new father who had a couple of busy months at work. What does that add up to? No free time for my art. But hopefully that is going to change soon here.

I am planning on finding some time this week to do some more watercolor postcards and hopefully spend some time doing an oil painting again (it was a lot of fun to do it the last time and I am itching to do it again). I also have some black and white photos I took of Phoenixville that need scanned and posted on the site. (Sorry it’s taking so long Laura, I hope your still interested) I will also be making my preparations for Canal Day soon as well. I hope to have a new print and postcard available as well as replenish some of my stock from the Firebird.

I also wanted to mention my new(ish) Etsy store where you can get one of a kind original pieces of art. Go over to Etsy to check it out.

One final note. I am hoping to sometime this month launch a Kickstarter project to fund a black and white coffee table book covering the towns in the Schuylkill valley fron Reading to Conshohocken. I am getting excited about it and can’t wait to share more details about it to you.

There you will find me pedaling my comics and drawing stuff! They have a lot of great artists (including Dawn Griffin of Zorphbert and Fred and the fantastic Nick Mockoviac. It is a fun show, very inexpensive to get in and it is located within a neat little mall/flea market loaded with all sorts of cool shops. So if you live in New Jersey, Eastern PA or southeast New York, you don’t want to miss this fun show.

I am calling this one Embers Glow and it is now available as a pre-order. The pre-orders are also a special limited edition and each one will be signed and numbered by myself (the artist/photographer) As a bonus a signed and numbered postcard with the image will also be included FREE!

All photographic prints are printed on archival quality Kodak professional paper. This paper has a glossy pearl like finish to it. Prints are then matted with a white acid free matte with acid free foam core backing board and placed in an archival clear bag. All prints are handled with the up-most of care and special care is taken during the shipping process. With matte, 8×10′s measure 11×14 and the 5×7′s measure 8×10. Postcards are printed on high quality card stock and are suitable for mailing or if you rather, hanging framed on your wall.

Prints are shipped via the United States Post Office Priority Mail.

The Firebird Festival is happening again in Phoenixville Pennsylvania this weekend and I will once again be on hand to provide you with photos postcards and paintings of the bird.

The Festival will be happening this year on Saturday December 10th. The Art Bazaar will be open from 4:00 pm until 11:00. The bird will be burned at 8:00. Be sure to come out and check things out. There will be music, food, performances, arts and crafts and of course the lighting of a giant wooden bird. It is a great festival and a terrific way to spend a cold December night.

Blueberry Arts will be there with its usual fare of photographic Prints, original artwork including comics and paintings, postcards and original books made by yours truly.

November has been here for eleven days now, and every November is now Movember. This is my second year supporting this charity to help raise awareness for men’s health and prostate cancer. I do my part every year by growing my mustache and using my art to raise money and awareness. Now, I am getting this off the ground a little late this year. Those that know me, know that I now have a little daughter now home from the hospital. That kinda sucked my attention away from the business of Movember.
