Birth Session of Kason Jagger Graham

Brandi, Jeff, and big brothers Stetson and Cody welcomed brand new brother Kason on April 25th, 2011. He was born at 5:59 pm weighing 5 pounds and 7 ounces. He was 19 inches long. Kason was born with a full head of gorgeous brown hair. Jeff was so excited! The minute Kason was born he started laughing and jumping up and down. Brandi of course was excited as well, but didn't do much jumping due to being in labor for most of the day and having an epidural! Thank you Brandi and Jeff for allowing me to witness the beautiful miracle of Kason's birth. May God bless your family!

David and Brianna Wedding

   David and Brianna are an amazing couple! Brianna is such a beautiful woman, inside and out. David is such a handsome young man, blessed with both the looks and the personality. I have had the pleasure of knowing David and his dad for quite a while now. I felt so honored when they asked me to photograph their big day!
   Their wedding took place at the beautiful Peacock River Ranch in Gatesville, TX. That was my first time ever in that location, and it was stunning! The landscape, the buildings, the surroundings were all perfect! I even saw 6 deer as I was leaving that evening.
   Dave and Bri, thank you so much for being you, and inviting me to be a part of your beautiful wedding. I hope you enjoy each other and make wonderful memories! God bless both of you!

The birth of Landon

I had the neatest experience on Saturday Aug. 21, 2010. I had the opportunity to photograph a birth. Mom was so calm and rested through out the whole labor and delivery. When baby Landon came out, he was the same way. I would love to do lots of these shoots. I enjoyed it so much! It was very tiring both physically and emotionally, but so worth it!

   Are Digital Files Included With My Baby Photography Session? Babyphotographers.com would like to welcome St. Louis baby photographer Lauri Baker as our guest blogger. Please enjoy her interesting and informative thoughts on image ownership and digital files.
   Surely you’ve noticed an increase in the number of photographers giving away digital files. As a customer, should you expect them to be for sale? Why don’t all photographers include them in the session fee for free, or at least make them affordable? Don’t the files belong to you anyway?
   Federal copyright law is very clear about image ownership. They belong to your photographer, who has the sole right to print, display, and sell them.
   You should expect the price of digital files, if available, to compensate your photographer for their work and talent. Baby photographers don’t always sell a large package up front like wedding photographers. Instead, most charge a session fee that just covers some costs of providing the shoot. We rely on print sales as our sole source of income. The digital images are the key to those print sales. This is good for you. It means I have to do a good job for you, or I won’t get paid.
   While many photographers do offer the files for sale, many baby photographers who specialize in creating custom art don’t. For them, it’s a matter of quality control from start to finish. They realize cutting corners on that is a disservice to their clients.
   Almost all of the file inquiries I get stem from an attempt to get my work for cheap… to get my vision, but to skip out on buying prints from me. Or from a misconception that digital is cheaper to produce than film. It’s not.
   The equipment is much more expensive, replacements are necessary more often, and the workflow, maintenance, troubleshooting, and constant education requirements make digital much more expensive.
   Even at that, the real value of digital files comes not from the cost, but what the files contain: the work and artistry that prompted you to choose that photographer.
   If you purchase files, expect to pay a price that values the work, and is sustainable for the photographer. You want him or her to still be in business when your new baby starts sitting up. Or walking. Or when your family grows.
   If you’re looking for cheap portraits, and you don’t care about prints or a long-term photographer, cheap photography is available in abundance on places like Craigslist. You can have a session and all the files for very little money. But for custom baby photography, the most important things to look for are artistry, image quality, experience with babies, safety, and service.
   Choose wisely – baby portraits are precious memories and family heirlooms.

The bluebonnets have bloomed here in Gatesville!!! There is a field full of them just waiting for people to play in them and have thier pictures taken! Session times are limited to early morning and early evening to get the perfect lighting for your portraits. I can guide you on clothing choices and I am happy to help you plan ahead to ensure you have a gorgeous wall portrait of your children and family to treasure. Bluebonnet pictures are a Texas tradition, timeless in their beauty and sure to be appreciated by all.

     Wow! According to the weather and botany experts, our 2010 Bluebonnet season will be a lush and lavish one. The bluebonnets are expected to be especially prolific this year. Because of our record rainfalls, this springs show of Texas' state flower will most likely be the best since 2007.
     I have a great location all planned out that is just enveloped with Bluebonnet plants! I am eagerly awaiting those gorgeous purple blossoms!! These sessions are a limited time only special because, unfortunately, Bluebonnets do not bloom year round.
     Session times are limited to early morning and early evening to get the perfect lighting for your portraits.
