SOLAR BLAST JUST MISSES EARTH: On August 7th (1825 UT), magnetic fields around sunspot 1093 became unstable and erupted, producing a strong M1-class solar flare. Several amateur astronomers caught the active region in mid-flare, while NASA’s Solar Dynamics Observatory recorded an extreme ultraviolet movie of the entire event:

The eruption hurled a coronal mass ejection (CME) into space, just missing a direct sun-Earth line. Forecasters expect the cloud to deliver no more than a glancing blow to our planet’s magnetic field when it billows by on August 9th or 10th–not be a major space weather event.

Future eruptions could turn out differently. Active region 1093 is rotating toward Earth. By the end of this weekend, we’ll be in the line of fire if its magnetic fields become unstable again.

The action began on August 3rd around 1740 UT when a CME hit Earth’s magnetic field. The impact caused a moderate geomagnetic storm (Kp=6) and auroras over northern Europe. At the height of the display, Jesper Grønne of Denmark took this picture:

“It’s not every day we see auroras at +56 degrees latitude,” says Grønne.

While the sky pulsed with color, electrical currents ran through the ground. In Lofoten, Norway, aurora researcher Rob Stammes detected strong currents in the earth outside his laboratory: data. “A current surge at 17.40 UT indicated the arrival of the CME,” he says. “The geomagnetic storm began shortly thereafter.”

All this activity was prompted by the complex solar eruption of August 1st. Analysts believe that multiple explosions may propelled not just one but two CMEs in our direction. If so, a second cloud could arrive soon and re-energize the storm. Stay tuned!

The timing of these events suggest they are connected, and a review of SDO movies strengthens that conclusion. Despite the ~400,000 km distance between them, the sunspot and filament seem to erupt together; they are probably connected by long-range magnetic fields. In this movie (171 Å), a shadowy shock wave (a “solar tsunami”) can be seen emerging from the flare site and rippling across the northern hemisphere into the filament’s eruption zone. That may have helped propel the filament into space.

In short, we have just witnessed a complex global eruption involving almost the entire Earth-facing side of the sun.

A coronal mass ejection (CME) produced by the event is heading directly for Earth: SOHO movie. High-latitude sky watchers should be alert for auroras when it arrives on or about August 3rd.

Some ufologists in Japan claim this story is of an alien from the moon and came to earth inside an elongated cigar (bamboo-shaped) spacecraft.  Others believe she is the Moon Goddess.

In my experience, kundalini tends to be closely related to the amount of solar activity.  It revs up when there are more sunspots or solar flares.  I watch the solar and lunar cycles closely, so I can catch the perfect wave.  2009 was rather quiet, but this year, solar activity is picking up again.  It may mean emotional turbulence for some people, but it is important to stay centered.  Nothing can harm you.  Know that energy is rising again to aid your evolution.

Every spiritual teacher says it;  Just surrender.  We hold on to a belief system for so long, it is like holding a hot rock.  We eventually need to let go.  One word of advice for if you encounter kundalini problems is to surrender.  My personal experience with kundalini energy is that when it encounters a block, either physical/mental/spiritual, it results in pain.  Sometimes, excrutiating pain.  We clear blockages in ourselves, but it is the last bit of polishing, which hurts, since kundalini is a fast track.  A lot of people get trapped in this, because there is an acceleration in the negative aspects as well as the positive.  Somehow, we think we can ‘fix’ the pain and we try so hard to get rid of it.  Letting go happens automatically, as the person is no longer able to cope with the pain.  It is difficult to let go with kundalini, as the ego gets inflated for some people.  Contrary to some teachers beliefs, I would stop all spiritual practices when the force is too much.  I think Nike should have a new T-Shirt, “Just Let Go.”  So much better than “Just Do It.”  For kundalini awakenings, please feel free to contact us anytime.
