Theme Project.--Story line-
2nd graders were told they were Gourmet Chefs and they had to create this amazing pizza with 'The Works'. One thing that got left off our list was mushrooms, but we added it later.
Mix together for fun!!

'Women with Black Cravat' (tie).

The 8th graders are finishing up their Modigliani portraits using oil pastels. Wow!! Their art work is so beautiful and impressive. I am proud of them.

Batik Experiment

I saw this at an art workshop. Supplies from the dollar store. 1/2 toothpast + 1/2 aloe vera lotion mixed together in anold glue bottle. Create absract lines and shapes on cut up white cotton - cheap from fabric store. color in with Tempera paint .
Let dry 24 hrs. rinse off.

I just had this idea for an art project next week. --- Pop Art Bethlehem. Bright colors. I used chalk, then spray fixative then I added a thin layer of acrylic gloss varnish.

Recycling Crayons

It is Saturday night and I decided to try recycling old crayons to a new life. I melted similar colors together in an old muffin tin. I put the oven on 210 degrees- just guessed -and it seemed to do the trick in about 5-10 minutes. Then I put them in the refrigerator on glass shelves. Took them out a half hour later and they easily popped out. I am going to take them back to school and see how the kids like them

I decorate the tree with blue, silver, and white. Below is Blue sitting in all his glory. It is so hard to get him to sit still for a photo. Merry Christmas all! I love this Holiday Season.

Animal Faces

Animal Faces using color sticks and crayons - plus google eyes.
These decorated faces were made by 4th graders. They could choose a realistic or unrealistic color scheme.
Students were asked to focus on the lines and shapes represented on the animal face.

Guitar Collage Inspired by Picasso

7th graders experimented with a guitar collage inspired by picasso' Guitar paper sculpture.
We used construction paper, yarn glue sticks, and some used foil.
We had crimpers and folding paper to add textural elements.
