Here is a sketch for July!

My computer is still dead at home. :sniff:sniff: so I haven't been able to do anymore new sketches.

Yes, such a big flake I am. How can I say I'm sorry for neglecting my poor blog.. Sure I can go on and on about all the terrible things that have befallen me lately. But I won't. I will just I'm sorry! :(

Also, my computer finally died at home. I am so sad, not only do I no longer have my program to sketch, but I also had 3 months of photos I had not backed up sitting in there. Literally brings me to tears. I have to pay some guy to come out and try to save them, then I'm chucking the old gal. Not sure when a new computer will be in our plans, but I do have a cheapy desktop I bought from work, that is good enough to surf the web.

So I have 2 sketches left from my original drawings. I will put these up shortly. I have a fabulous kit from 3 Scrappy Boys for a RAOK for June.

I might make some changes to layouts entered (may enter any layouts from any of my sketches to be eligible -- but wait for the announcement).

Here we are again, at the Scrap Blog Hop!

We are celebrating Mother's Day at the Scrap Blog Hop, any project or LO.

This is what I did.. I really dislike this picture of me.. but it's the only one from this trip to Ojai with my mom that I have..

My mom and I went to the Ojai Spa and Resort. It is gorgeous there! Look at our view from our room! It was a nice and relaxing Mother's Day and we spend so little time, just the 2 of us, it was nice to spend it together. I don't think I tell her enough, how much I appreciate her.

So last week was pretty bad. My son was soo sick. At first I thought he had the flu, fever (febrile hallucinations and all!), throwing up, crabby.. Then his fever broke and he had blisters in his mouth. Yup, hand, foot, mouth. Lovely. So needless to say, my sketch didn't get up..

I will extend the deadline for one week.. So get your layouts in the gallery by May 8 for your chance to win an awesome ROAK from Daisy Bucket Designs!

This sketch was inspired by one of my layouts last year, which was inpsired by a layout in a magazine I saw.

In honor of Earth day Scrappy Blog Hop wanted to showcase some of our amazing talented scrappers.

We used recycled items on layouts, cards and projects!

Here is mine!

The butterfly and "stems" of the flowers are recycled from clear packaging. The packaging came from the clam shell of some stamps!

Final week of Scrap Idol!

The Challenge was to use 6 of 6 elements, and only those elements, plus 6 random journaling spots.

Here is my entry:

6 pieces of pp
6 flowers
6 chipboard pieces
6 rain dot stickers
6 stitchings
6 buttons

I love all the dimension the stitching gave it. Also stuff is on pop dots for some more depth. It was hard to distress and stitch all those papers.. Only cause I just recently started hand stitching. It's a little addicting, but hard work none the less.

Hoping to get some more scrapping done now that it's over.. It was so fun and challenging to do this. Broke me out of my zone for sure. I am glad I joined. But now I can get back to my 'normal' programming.

I know you are all waiting to hear who won March's RAK.. Give me a minute. I'm working out the details of April's RAK so I can put that up too.

In further news, I'm in the final two of Scrap Idol!!!!!!!

No freaking way?! How can that be? I am so excited, I never even thought I'd make it past week one. But I can at least say I am happy to be here, it's made me think outside my box and these are some of my favorite layouts ever.

Here was my entry for this past week.

It was a color scheme (can you pick it out? hehehe)

It was an emotional challenge for me, because when I saw the color scheme, I knew I had the perfect paper. It's been sitting in my stash for over 3 years, unable to scrap the pictures the paper was intended for. But I did it.. Through tears and all, but it was complete.

I was skeptical at first, but it works! It's not gonna make you rich, but may help with some scrapbooking supplies!!

The way it works.

Scrap Idol Week #4...

No square corners. This was a little tough, only cause I like to have more direction. Like use certain colors, use this sketch, or use x amount of products, you know.

So I had to think outside the box for this.

I always settle on pictures first. They build the LO based on that.

I cornered every "ray" and used a circle as the base.

I used some swap stuff from Kat, and others, and Kelsy's inchie.. I just rounded the corners of the square. So what do you think.

There are only 5 players left, and two get voted off this week. EEEKKKK!!!
AND I'm up against some VERY talented ladies!

Oh! and while you are here, take a look at Elle's Studio! She's got some fabulous stuff at her shop!

How cute are these? I love to use journaling tags in my layouts. Nice and simple, with a taste of retro chic!

Scrap Idol Week #3

This week was a pencil lines sketch. PLUS we had to use 2 techniques. Stamping, paper tearing, paper piecing, painting, stitching, or distressing.

Here is my submission:

Stamped and embossed the title. Distressed the PP. Used my inchie and Ashley's inchie.

Details:
Stitched a flourish (my first ever attempt!)

distressed chipboard with ink and applied glossy accents:

painted chipboard with crackle paint and sprinkled with glitter. Painted small flower with acrylic paint and glitter. Distressed ink the background cardstock.

I survived!

I survived week two of Scrap Idol!! Sorry I didn't post my layout. I did it all last minute, cause you know, life got in the way..

But here is week 2:

It was an ad inspiration. And this is what I pulled out.

Week 3 is a doozy.. Lot's of techniques required.. I'm not really a technique kinda gal, I am mostly just put it down and get er done. You know.. But I like these challenges. Really makes me think out of my comfort zone. I'm done with this weeks too, but I'll post that a little later. :D
