Ok, its been a really long time since I posted on here, but between school, life, and gaming, things had gotten a little hectic, but I am back for now.

I got into the school of my dreams finally. I am a UCF Knight! I'm in the process of moving at the moment.

Now, I know I'm late when it comes to playing this one, but I really enjoy it. Borderlands has a lot of the things I wanted when it comes to co-op: decent split screen, rpg elements, stress on teamwork. Sadly, the level design and storyline are lacking. Good news is Borderlands 2 will be coming out next year and it will be interesting to see what improves.

Magic 2012 is out! Love this set and the updated Duels of the Planeswalkers. I pulled a Garruk from a booster box I split with my bf and his older brother. My bf plays green so he uses it. My current decks are now blue, white, and green/white (though it needs some work).

Got myself full immersed in the Android platform now. Everyday I discover something new I can do with my Inspire 4G, especially since it's rooted. If you are thinking about upgrading to a better phone, do some research and go Android. Seriously.

Until next time.
It features a new game mechanic allowing players to "kill with skill" to gain points that are used for upgrades and leaderboards. Over the weekend I picked up a copy of Bulletstorm: Epic Edition (which I believe is GameStop exclusive) which comes with the Gears 3 beta code. I enjoyed the demo so I figured why not?

The intro was amazing and fairly long. It takes about a half hour to reach the point where you have access to skillshots and upgrades, without skipping cutscenes. Also, dont play this with little children around because the character script alone was very mature. Listening to the characters interact was one of my favorite parts and I'll admit I picked up some new insults.

The story itself was on the brink of impossible. There were so many ways the main characters should have ate it, but hey, its a game. I liked the controls, but the lack of being able to duck behind cover was annoying. Epic went towards their UT roots instead of Gears on that one. Toggling crouch is sufficient at times, until multiple minibosses and main boss fights arise. Other than that the controls are fine and are set a lot like Gears (like using the d-pad to switch weapons). The leash can get iffy at times. I've found myself grabbing people I wasn't aiming for, but most of the time it still ended in spectacular kills.

Keep in mind that Bulletsorm is single player only local. Online multiplayer is setup similarly to Horde mode from Gears 2. I haven't spent much time on it, but I know you can customize how your character looks, the color of your gun and leash, and other things made available as you level up.

With the release of Scars and Besieged, Magic players have had a choice between the Mirrans and the Phyrexians.

Choir: "Ahhh"

Personally I'm on the Mirran side. My blue/artifact mill contains the majority of their cards. They play really well and I enjoy the backstory.

I like to root for the underdog (and with the way the Phyrexian story is written, the Mirrans truly are the underdogs). Viva la resistance!

So I want to know, which side have you chosen and why? Which faction dominates your deck?
Over the past week coverage began for the Mobile World Congress in Spain. The MWC is the chance companies get to show off their new, shiny, mobile devices. This is a cell phone dominant event, but tablets have made their appearance as well.
Time for a new feature!

This week I will be going over how to build up a collection with limited funds. You and three friends split the cost of a 36 pack booster box (for friends, see Friday Night Magic). To make the math simple, this example box will cost $100 even. $100 divded by 4 people equals $25 per person. So for $25 you get 9 boosters (36/4). Most boosters cost about $4 on their own, so you save $11 going this route.

It's up to you how your group splits the cards (i.e. Drafting, "Oooh, I like that picture on the wrapper") but overall you will have 135 new cards from your 9 packs. Keep what you want, sell/trade what you dont.
Just dont be like those kids who see commons and throws them away. You'll be surprised who needs them (i.e. that kid who just threw them out).
It's that time again for Friday Night Magic!

Now some people may claim they have better things to do on a Friday night, but we're gamers and this is the best night of the week.

FNM events are the best way to get involves in Magic locally. You get to meet new players, make new friends (or rivals) and practice tournament formats like Standard and Sealed Draft. If you sign up for tournament play and place 1st or 2nd, you earn an event prize card. If you dont place, you may randomly be selected to win 1 of 2 other event cards.

FNM takes place at local gaming stores across the country, so contact the one near you to see if they participate. I personally hit up Tate's Gaming Satellite, so if you're in the South FL area you know what's up.
Star Wars: The Old Republic, which has been confirmed for a spring release date earlier this month, is probably one of the most anticipated MMORPGs of this year. Now Electronic Arts CEO John Riccitiello tells investors on a conference call yesterday that "At half a million subscribers, the game is substantially profitable".

Impressive, seeing that EA chief financial officer Scott Brown said that The Old Republic was "the largest R&D project EA has ever undertaken" earlier last year.

Riccitiello didn't specify how long it would take for half a million subscribers to make SW:TOR turn a profit, though it seems like it could happen for the highly anticipated MMO since World of Warcraft – which has 12 million subscribers as of the end of last year.
