With an output of kW PSfrom rpm to rpmthe TSI engine which lies at the heart of the new Volkswagen Golf Cabriolet has exactly the same power as the classic with a steel andr panoramic sunroof. Specifically, this is adirect-injection petrol engine of the EA series. The turbocharged 16-valve four-cylinder engine develops a maximum torque of Newton metres at a low rpm. And this torque remains available at a constant level up to 5,200 rpm – an ideal plateau for a torque curve, which is actually not curved any longerTSI engine accelerates the most powerful Golf Cabriolet ever from 0 to 100 km/h in just seconds. A special strength of the engine is its great flexibility: the manually shifted Cabriolet can accelerate from to km/h in just seconds – this value shows why the open-top four-seat convertible is an ideal cruiser. The VW Golf GTI Cabriolet attains a top speed of km/h (DSG km/h This contrasts with a combined fuel consumption of just km and km as the equivalent CO2 emissions km and g/km COIncidentally, the Golf GTI is the only convertible in the compact class up to PS to be offered with a dual clutch gearbox!Like the classic Golf GTI with a fixed steel roof, the new convertible also exhibits visual trademarks of the GTI. They are the typical GTI insignia that have made their way into the collective memory of all car drivers over the past 36 years. At the front, they are the red framing of the radiator grille with its honeycomb structure and GTI signature, the honeycomb structure of the lower air inlets, the front GTI bumper and the GTI-specific fog lights with chrome surrounds. At the rear, the Golf GTI Cabriolet is distinguished by a new diffuser design, the typical chrome tailpipes (one on the left and one on the right) and smoked LED rear lights. The licence plate at the rear is also illuminated by LEDs. From the sides, the side sill extensions and 17-inch ‘Denver’ alloy wheels (on 225/45 tyres) make the convertible a GTI. Of course, here too 18-inch ‘Detroit’ GTI wheels with 225/40 tyres are available as an option.

SEAT was unveiled the stunning SEAT IBZ Concept at the Frankfurt Motor Show. With the Ibiza Concept IBZ, SEAT is offering a preview of the future family-sized version of its most popular model. It will be on the market inas the company continues its new product offensive which is making the Spanish brand’s range the youngest on the market. A side view reveals low profile 235/35 tyres on attractive, five double-spoke 19 inch alloy wheels, each with an embossed ‘S’ at the hub. Another tell-tale feature of the SEAT IBZ Concept is the León-concept rear passenger door handle, which is neatly integrated into the third side window. The chassis of the new SEAT IBZ Concept has the same compact dimensions, with a total length of 4.22 metres and the same height and width as the basic model, although greater access to the rear seats is provided by broader rear doors

same as on the fourth generation Ibiza and the new Exeo, the Arrow Design concept defines the exterior looks of the 2009 León and Altea. They both clearly reflect the silhouettes of the previous models, but contain interesting new design details. Now with smoother, more elegant lines, prominent elements are a new grille with a smaller SEAT logo and more stylised chrome surround, larger headlights, newly designed door mirrors and modern wheel rims; while at the rear, the window is larger for greater visibility, and the hatch and light clusters have also been modified, among others. In the interior, modifications have been made to the instrument panel, central console and door panel trim and materials, resulting in a modern, ergonoplace from 5 to 15 March, 2009, the Geneva Motor Show is the backdrop chosen by SEAT to showcase the new 2009 León and Altea models for the first time. With these models, the Spanish brand`s intermediate range has undergone a considerable evolution, with their identity traits visible on the front and rear of all the body styles, and a completely updated engine range including common rail Diesel variants. All these novelties combine with an outstanding level of equipment, with special emphasis on comfort and safety elements.

The broad engine range on the new León, Altea and Altea XL models includes a total of 10 different choices – five petrol and five Diesel. They have all undergone a significant evolution in every aspect, with special mention to performance and a reduction in fuel consumption figures and emissions levels.

The powerful 211 hp 2.0 TSI engine steals the spotlight in the petrol engine range, while the great novelty among the Diesel choices is the arrival of common rail technology to the 170 hp 2.0 TDI engine. Furthermore, all the versions equipped with the DSG automatic sequential gearbox, now also available on the seven-speed 160 hp 1.8 TSI, feature shift paddles on the steering wheel.

With the arrival of the 2009 versions, the equipment list has been unified on the SEAT León, Altea and Altea XL models. All three are now equipped with the same standard elements on the Reference, Style and Sport versions. In addition, the León has added the sportier FR version to its range.

Besides, all the versions feature new upholstery, with the possibility of choosing black leather, and a new cognac colour leather for the León units. A further choice on the FR versions is a combination of black fabric (for the seat sides) with red or silver Alcantara down the middle.

And finally, in terms of active safety measures, the new 2009 León and Altea include all the electronic assistance devices. ABS + TCS and ESP with EBA emergency braking will be available as standard across the entire rangmic passenger compartment
