The best comics on the internet (part 2). From where i left off in the last post, None of the wordy jargon.

Subnormality

This is genuinely one of the most awesome comics i have seen on the internet. The comic is artistically brilliant and is executed to comic perfection. Though it boasts of having too many words (it does, each comic has a solid story), Subnormality is one of the finer creations of web comic world. The comic is generally random on the subject but what drives it to Awesomeness is the fact that every strip is focused onto what it wants to deliver. The comic sneers, very intelligently yet 'subtly with cynicism' at the dysfunction of the modern society. Comic nirvana is here.

SMBC - Saturday Morning Breakfast Cereal

Creator Zach Weiner, thats one damn funny name. The comic is funnier. SMBC leans and laughs on to the science-y-ier side of the world and that too with atomic precision. Its a single panel comic with one off lines at the bottom. This comic is as important as your morning breakfast cereal.

PHD - Piled higher & Deeper

Follows the daily life of a bunch of Grad students.Their procrastinations, adventures, failures and all. Any person who has ever been to college will almost immediately identify with this comic. What sets PhD apart from other college based comics is that it very brilliantly brings out the funny little quirks, the hidden cynicism and the monumental frustration of college life. without fizzling out on the humor and avoiding those in-your face cliche'. This is one pretty damn awesome comic.

The Oatmeal

The first thing you notice about an Oatmeal comic is that it looks less like a comic strip and more like a list. and If you didn't know, the internet wouldn't have made it this far without lists. My favorite story based web comic, it revolves around a bunch of friends or people ?? (citation required), a coffee shop, (no this is not Friends!) and a couple of robots. Not particularly as geeky as xkcd, QC is over saturated with sarcasm and some killer humor. Another thing i liked about this comic was the way the charecters and sometimes their features have subtly changed with time. Don't miss the artist's comment at the end of each strip.

Cyanide and Happiness

I really can't describe this comic. Its awfully brilliant, mind numbingly awesome, and disastrously crazy. The real off the rocker. You can only wonder at the amount of cynicism one can shove into 4 panels, and all this with stick figures.

I personally don't like Garfield, i think he is the douche but that for another day, this comic however is a real show. I really like the concept and surprisingly the comic is absolutely hilarious.
The best part i think about this comic is how spaced out Jon has been through the entire course of the comic. After this comic, Garfield seems to much better without Garfield itself.

Penny Arcade and Ctrl+Alt+Del
Both comics are mainly based on Video Games and cult TV shows like Star Wars and Star Trek. in short, Very Geek. However, both comics remain thoroughly enjoyable even to men from the stone age.

Now that you have junked up in the real world, its time to set out on the greater goal. After you have successfully completed objective 1, you will find yourself in a load of canned tomato soup. Food...The key to a healthy diet is change. Experiment with different combination's. Try ordering a large pizza and then save it in the fridge. Heat up portions of it and eat at regular intervals. Regular Coffee breaks in between help break the stress of the routine. All parts of the brain except the one that makes vital food related decisions can remain dormant through out the entire course of the activity. When eating ice cream, always remember to serve yourself with a thick layer (about an inch) of chocolate sauce on top. Maintain the layer constantly throughout the exercise.

All food must be accompanied by Chocolate Sauce and Cheese Spread.

I SHOULD HAVE GONE AND PLAYED FOOTBALL..

Drink...Cola is the drink of choice as it contains a fair amount of sugar molecules and caffeine. If you are not still not happy with the amount of sugar intake, you can alternate between orange soda and coke as fanta contains more sugar. Diet anything is totally off limits.

Its safe to buy coke in insanely large quantities as it is a great investment option. Be sure to buy at least 5000 liters of coke. All this can be stored in the emptied water tank on top of your terrace. Red Bull is recommended every now and then as it will make you slightly hyper and you will eat a little more.

STEP $

The Internet...This is a the greatest boon for any enthusiast keeping in mind that the original bull crap generating machine (The TV) is almost dead. The Internet is filled with so much use less bull crap that 15 minutes of looking in the right places will delude you into a munching guzzling hyper drive.

Music and Movies...Movies are a must. After Food and the obvious and essential after effect called sleep, Movies are next in the line. You must train yourself to watch all kinds of movies. Great ones, Good ones, Bad ones, The ones you don't mention to other people, really shitty ones, Ones that make you feel "AHH..what have i done wrong" or "Forgive me, for i have sinned"......etc.

By the end of each of movie, you will have developed a healthy routine of eating fair quantities of fats and sugars and not know about it.

Music...If you are the kind who listens to to Shaggy, then i recommend to you stick by him and his kind. The Less said the better. For everyone else, who don't happen to be the product of a retarded fish-frog and a plankton, Pink Floyd and Doors will convince you that whatever you are doing is the greatest thing in the world. I would've recommended Children of Bodom but that is a too much head banging so it really doesn't fit the required requirements.

(but on a more serious note, these bands really were the greatest at what they did)

STEP ^

Sleep...A healthy 16 to 19 hours a day is recommended for best results. And in any case, the amount of physical stress exerted by all that guzzling is bound to make you drowsy.

Don't Panic if you suddenly find out on one fine late evening that parts of your body will not respond to the only semi active part of your brain. This generally is an indicator that your goal is just around the corner, and that you can safely continue to roll in that nice big cushion that has miraculously formed around you....

So by now, i am absolutely sure that no one is convinced and that this is just more junk being added to an already filthy place. But seriously, after 1,127 words i can proudly (am i ?) say that this is my greatest literary achievement yet. If you have reached this far, i can confidently say that you have just read the highest order of the lowest BS..

About 3 years from now (the so called intelligible human race will be reduced to robots and will be ruled by either otters or plankton from Spongebob Squarepants) this will be considered the greatest thing ever created as it contains hidden references of every great pop culture.

It has been confirmed. The academy is either run by 3 year old's or some singled cell organisms from planet douche-45.. The Oscars have been consistently losing their relevance over the past few years, but now they have reached their lowest point. The Dark Knight, agreed both by critics and the audience, was THE film of 2008. It was also one of the quickest and highest grossing films of all time at the BO. And,therefore the question.Why is a great film AKA a technical, artistic and monetary success not nominated for best picture at the Oscars. It is films like the Dark Knight that make us go to the cinemas and give us an exit from our boring, material lives.
It would have been very disappointing if the movie hadn't won the best picture award. But now far from winning it, it doesn't even come close to competing for it. I am guessing the folks at the academy have a different agenda as to deciding whether a film is Oscar deserving or not. Whatever that is, it sucks. However all this said and done, the last straw would be if the joker is not handed over his Oscar.

We pray to the mighty Zeus and Isis to give the academy some sense and sanity so that they won't kill the spirit of the Oscars(ie if it has any).

About the desktop, i am running the usual samurize and rocket dock along with the widescape weather widget. also running is CAD skinned with "the crease". the taskbar is in auto hide mode and the wall paper is from social wallpapering.By the way, my newest obsession is typography and fonts. it is amazing how a good font can really uplift a design

I swear I'll never watch the Oscars again if The Joker(read Heath Ledger) doesn't win the best actor and the batman doesn't win Best Picture, but then again some movies and actors can never be weighed in statues. a speculative 'meteorite' was sighted around alberta, canada last evening (in canada) and this is its video from a patrol car. Its super celestial awesome!. Hope the meterorite has not been vaporised and hope more videos surface...

i found this very interesting just for the fact that everyone has a point of view for everything that surrounds us.

i am a pessimist who looks at the glass as half full. Its a glass!, which will provide unlimited energy and when bottled with a fancy name create fortunes. I wanted to keep the desktop as minimally black as possible.I have completely changed dock icons from the last desktop, and removed my desktop clock.I am starting to love CD Art Display.Its is so cool. The Rainlendar is skinned with my all time favorite Moderna skin.I guess i found this wall paper on deviant art, and don't mind the sticky note.

This Desktop is not too much different from the earlier ones, but all the icons on the desktop except one have been removed. The Sticky note Widget has been added. Apart from this some of the dock icons and of course the wallpaper have been changed.

its less than 4 hours from 10th September. whats so special?. World, please welcome the Large Hadron Collider aka LHC. I am like damn excited about the whole thing , its pretty cool colliding two sub atomic particles at near light speed.Really this is like the worlds largest science experiment and stuff and humans trying to meddle and recreate things of cosmic level is outright kickass!. With the media having a field day scaring the shit outta people saying the world is going to end beacaue of the experiment. WTF IS YOUR F'ING PROBLEMO ASoLE''s, Science knows better and like as if all the population and pollution are not killing us anyway.OK, If something really goes wrong and the world has to disappears into the black hole or whatever, its cool. All i wish for is for the CERN guys to tell us that we have like 27 hours more and then........

I like to call myself a realist but people around me tend to confuse it with pessimism. That however doesn't stop me from being a harsh critic (though no one even cares and I can only wish I was paid to do it) of the things I see ,hear and taste. So what's up with television today. its become what any intelligent life-form would call bull-CRAP (or for that matter any crap, even alien crap). Even news has become this excruciatingly dull and monotonous exercise. How I am still watching these over made up douche bags ramble on about the same dumb thing 3873 times before a break so as to not become Neanderthal . I don't know-period. Can someone dump BS like Big "D head" Boss and please bring back spongebob or simpsons. Wait , lets even have a reward!. But such is the drug on us I just cant stop watching(boycott??) and switch over to saner media(not TV channels)

Is any one even listening.....I think this is all a scheme by the government to lead us into a black hole or a deep dark abyss where we are made into rubber trees.i hope i don't get myself arrested

There are sparks and then there are supernovae. Heath Ledger AKA The Joker is legend. I finally watched the Dark Knight on Sunday and i am still elated. Few Movies have an impact of this sort on the human mind and rarely do we ever see an actor who is so intensely brilliant. If there is anything called evil then it is The Joker of the dark knight. Evil needs no reason. From cinematography to direction to soundtrack to explosions the movie deserves not a standing but a flying ovation.The very fact that batman(Micheal Bale) himself receives very little praise is because his performance is overshadowed big time by Joker's incredible antics.
The dark knight has certainly set a benchmark not only for actors and film-makers but also for the audience as well and will go down in history not only as the greatest superhero movie(until a better movie) but also as one of the best movies ever produced in the modern era.Heath Ledger will remain
