If you want to taste real home cooking, you have to go and have lunch at ANA-OĞUL LOKANTASI.

They only do serve lunch all week long, except Sundays, and have a varied menu that changes every day.
It is a great place for vegeterians, because they offer a great selection of "zeytinyağlı' which are vegetables cooked with olive oil and served cold (great for the summer time) and steamed vegetables too...

The person cooking the meals is Ali, who studied tourism in University and learned how to cook french cuisine. But he uses his knowledge to cook Turkish recipes and Bodrum recies he learned from his mom.
Ana-oğul lokantası means mom and son restaurant. The knowledge of perfect home cooking passed to the son Ali who seconded by his wife prepares great dishes that are so highly appreciated that the little restaurant has nothing left to serve by 3 pm.
The place is very very clean and hygienic and the people are very warm.

Do try the zucchini flower dolma (or known as courgette), they make the best (I have tried it many places and theirs is really delicious) and the Güllaç which is a desert made during the ramadan. It is layers of thin pastry soaked in milk and stuffed with nuts. A pure delıcacy :))

Temiz midir, alıştığım kuaförümdeki gibi hizmet alabilecek miyim? Saçımdan sıkıldım ama nerede ketirebilirim diyorsanız, ISTANBUL KUAFÖR tam sizin aradiğınız yer.
Istanbul Kuaförün sahibi Tanju bey Istanbul'da ün yapmış bir kuaförken ıstanbul keşmekeşinden kaçmaya karar verir ve ailesi ile birlikte Turgutreis'e yerleşip burada mesleğine devam eder.
Tanju beyin en önemli özelliklerinden biri müthiş saç kesimleri... Tanju bey yüzünüze ve de saçınızın özelliğine göre muhteşem kesimlerle şekillendirir.
Tanju beyin eşi de manikür-pedikür ve kaş gibi biz hanımların olmazsa olmazlarını inanılmaz hafif bir elle masaj yapar gibi gerçekleştiriyor.
Ben şahsen gittim, manikür pedikür yaptırdim, kaş aldırdım (ilk defa acı çekmedim) ve saç kesimi de yaptırdım. Tavsiye ederim.

Orfoz restaurant - best sea food

I discovered Orfoz restaurant 3 years ago when we decided spend a week in Bodrum in spring.

I did not know it was one of the best times to spend in Bodrum.

From now on every spring time I dream of coming back here to spend a great week.

Coming back to Orfoz, my husband's best friend Apo, took us for a great diner one night.

I did not know there were good sea food restaurants in Bodrum city center.

It is a tiny restaurant close to the famous Halikarnas disco. You have to reserve a table way in advance during the high season if you want to be able to have a chance to taste their great dishes.

Their specialty is sea shell dishes in all its forms.

I would definitively advise you to just go in and leave the menu choice to the owner of the restaurant.

I can tell you that the diner I had there was one of the most copious ones I ever had for a very very long time.

I was not able to stop myself from ordering way too much dishes.

We ate evrything but I can tell you I could not walk without unbuttoning my pants :))))

So please when going there, fast for 2 days (seriously or you will not be able to eat the delicious food), listen to the experience of the owner and/or the waiters they will definitively let you have a bit of all without feeling heavy like we did...

Try their wine. They have a good menu of wines.

3 Yıl Önce Annemlerin yazlığını henüz almamışken Nisan ayında Bodruma geldik ve resmen Bodruma bir kez daha aşık oldum.
Neyse sadede geleyim...
Eşimin arkadaşı Apo-abi-sonsuz- güven bizi favori restoranlar listeme giren ORFOZ Restaurant'a götürdü.
Deniz mahsüllerini bu denli güzel pişirmek, bu denli yalın bir şekilde lezzetlendirmek ve sunmak... Ben ORFOZ'da hayatımda ilk defa patlayana kadar yedim.
Yememek mümkün değil. Biz dümeni mekanın sahibine bıraktık ve o bizi resmen bambaşka bir boyuta taşıdı.
Mekan ufacık, yemekler muhteşem, buranın spesiyalleri kabuklu deniz mahsülleri..
Bu işi cidden biliyorlar... Of ağzım sulandı...
Neyse, yani biz ne zaman oraya gitsek 2 gün öncesinden perhiz yapıyoruz ki ORFOZ'a gidince herşeyden hakkıyla yiyelim diye.
Gidin mutsuz olmanız imkansız. Mekan Halikarnas disco'ya çok yakın.

Who does not love Bodrum?

Hi everyone,

This blog is in fact the continuation of my facebook group of the same name.

I did not have the courage to start a blog, I have another that was kind of stillborn but, I might work on it now that I have taken the first step.

Bodrum 4 beginners will try to help out those of you who have not been to Bodrum and plan to come, or those of you who want to explore the area without falling into the tourist "traps" and live Bodrum like Turks do.

I will share adresses of restaurants and places I've been to and that I liked.

I love to share the nice places that I discover with my friends, so why not share with people who love to travel and want to experience Bodrum form another point?

This blog will be both in Turkish and english. Might even be in french...

I am a definite beginner so please forgive me for the first few weeks mishaps... :)
