Goth is simply defined is a subculture originating from the Goth movement between 1979 and 1984. This phrase was coined by the band manager of Jovison and Anthony H Wilson and then the dogmas were followed by other archetypical bands like UK Decay, the Banshees and Bauhaus, Sisters of Mercy, Fields of the Nephilim and others. This subculture represents the voices arising against this stereotyped, trapped in the box of “to do and not to do” society. They are free thinkers, who defy the moral rules of the society and lead life according to their own wish, rejecting the pragmatic vision of the world. Historically, Goths were Tutonic tribe that settled in Scythia in the first century AD. One branch of this tribe, the Visigoth, sacked Rome in 410. Goth, according to prescribed notions at present, is associated with Gothic architecture of the 12th and 16th century, starting the architectural style of stone buildings with long pillars, vaulted ceilings and pointed arches. In literature, this style of writing was followed in dark, eerie and gloomy tales. Usually, there were horror tales or tales based on the myths of vampire and dark arts.

In the present time, Goth styles have moved into music, fashion, art and lifestyle. Usually, this style is marked by dark color black, enabling the perception of ‘dark’ and ‘gloomy’. Corset piercing is one of the recent fashion trends among women in body modifications. The corset was actually an undergarment worn by women during 1800’s. It used a metal brace disguised as lingerie consisting of a chain of laced hook-and-eye clasps to enhance the shape of a women’s back. Corset piercings, also called as ladder piercings consist of a series of piercings done on your back. The piercings are usually arranged in two vertical columns. The minimum number of piercings that can be done is four with two on each side, and the maximum number of piercings that can be done depends upon the area of your skin surface. Larger the area, greater number of piercings you can have.

Nearly everyone who gets corset piercings use standard bead rings. It is through these beaded rings that a lace or a ribbon is laced to make it look like a corset. Ribbon and lace are the most commonly used materials; however, some people also use rope or chain. Although it looks very beautiful and unique, these materials can only be used temporarily otherwise the piercings would not heal because of the constant agitation of the skin leaving ugly scars all along your back. To prevent this, the jewelry used should be removed immediately after the purpose of wearing a corset is finished.

Corset piercings can be temporary as well as permanent. Temporary corset piercings are generally done for aesthetic purposes, such as a photo shoot or just for a fetish. Temporary corset piercings usually make use of captive beaded rings as jewelry, however, if the corset piercing is simple, done for the purpose of a photo shoot, then it is usually done with hypodermic needles, which can be removed after the activity is completed. Temporary corset piercing does not normally last for more than a week or a few hours, until the activity for which it is worn is over. Temporary corset piercings leave open wounds that are prone to infections, irritation or cross-contamination as any other healed piercing or wound.

Permanent corset piercings constitute of multiple surface piercings that are done by piercing the surface with the piece of jewelry created for this purpose. Because of being difficult and painful, most of the corset piercings are done temporarily. If he knows his job very well, he should advise using surface bars (specially designed for surface piercings) having beaded rings. After the piercing is healed, the beads of these surface bars are drilled to make a hole in which the rings can be attached, thus, resembling the captive bead rings. Another option that can be used is the flexible jewelry, which moves with the body, such as Teflon tubing or Tygon-based bars. It is better to let the piercings heal before lacing it with ribbons or any other material to avoid any pressure or tension on the wounds that may cause infection and cause the skin around the piercings to migrate. Even after the piercings heal completely, it is not recommended to wear the piercings laced up at all times, as it greatly increases the chances of getting the piercings completely healed.

It was here that Fakir performed with hooks attached to his chest with several yoga poses. He became extremely popular in UK after this show was conducted. Take time to spread the needle of your flat shader, this will help the ink to flow smoothly to the tip and create less pressure on the skin and the machine. If the needle is not spread adequately, it will be more difficult for the needle to seep into the skin making the machine work harder and creating disbalance. In order to spread the needles, lay the needle bar on a piece of glass and with the help of exacto knife real carefully put the blade between the last needle and from the needle tip slowly push downward toward the solder. Spread the last needle on the other side moving toward the middle. Although it takes time to pick up this method, it is quite useful in the long run. So first practice on old sterilized needles.
As far as round needles are concerned, they are used for shading and coloring. In case, you make them yourself then buy a jig that is loosely put together because a tight stock will take you nowhere as far as color absorption is concerned. Stretching is a way by which one can gradually widen a pierced hole in the body. This is done by slightly and slowly stretching the tissue, causing the micro tears to form in between, and then maintaining the hole till it completely heals. The process is then repeated until the desired result is achieved, thus having as large holes as required. It is advisable to take proper care so that it does not leave behind any scars.

Taper

Making a large hole at once is not advisable since ruptures can destroy the surrounding tissues and cannot return to its normal size if desired. A very large hole requires surgery even in the stretching process. Just before stretching try to moist it with salt water for as long as possible as this not only moistens up the place but also makes it soft and more apt for the process. After one sitting wait for long enough say at least 20 days to 1 month for the next sitting. The time taken can be as long as 3 months also depending upon the condition of the ear. Having one sitting after another will not only make the hole look distorted but you will also face ear problems afterwards.

The best frequency of doing it is every alternate month. If it ever starts bleeding then it means you have done the stretching too fast. So always be sure that the previous stretching has healed properly before starting a new one. After the stretching an oil massage is very relaxing as well as useful.
