How you typically position your body when going through your day defines your posture. Posture is a key, but sometimes overlooked, aspect of general good health and chronic pain management. Our bodies are designed to move. Our muscles tense and stiffen if we don’t move them enough. Similarly, we can get caught in the grip of poor posture, which can create problems throughout our whole body.

Poor posture can lead to back or shoulder pain, as well as tightness in the hips, and it can strain the muscles and the nerves of the spinal cord. Ultimately, tension on any part of the spinal system can result in neck pain.

Since the body is an interconnected series of joints, strain in any area can lead to chronic body pain in multiple areas.

Here are the biggest culprits of poor posture, especially related to neck pain:

1. Looking upwards or downwards so much that it causes stress on your neck or joints
2. Lifting heavy items by pulling up, scrunching your shoulders up to your neck. Since most of us are stronger on one side than the other, we also might pull up unevenly which can lead to neck pain on one side of the neck more than the other.
3. Cradling your phone or cell phone between your shoulder and neck for a long time or very often
4. Sleeping in such a position that your pillow is not properly supporting your head and neck.
5. Hunching or leaning forward while sitting in a chair, rather than resting comfortably against the back of the chair. When you sit like this very often, your shoulders lean forward and can pull on your neck.

Natural Pain Relief Supplements Can Help Reduce Your Neck Pain

How it causes neck pain:
Poor posture causes one group of muscles to pull on others, leading to muscle strain and pain. Poor posture can restrict the range of motion of spinal nerves, causing them to pinch and shorten, which leads to pain. Neck muscles get strained if you have perpetually bad posture.

Heat therapy has been a treatment option for many years. It is enjoying a comeback as an excellent way to reduce the severity of chronic pain. Heat therapy is in fact a pretty simple concept. Any treatment that uses heat to help soothe pain, relax muscles or ease stress can be classified as a form of heat therapy. Heat therapy is very accepted because it can be done by pretty much anyone and for very little cost. If there is a bathtub or a shower or even a hot facecloth, one can perform their very own heat therapy treatment. Recently, more complex forms of heat therapy like ultrasound and paraffin waxing has come into the spotlight and they are now being used in pain clinics, hospitals, and spas across North America and Europe. Though it is generally a very simple form of treatment, heat therapy is actually quite original in the way that it relieves pain and muscle stiffness. When applied to sore areas of the body, heat helps to dilate the blood vessels. This encourages blood to rush to the affected area, flushing out toxins and other wastes. This blood also brings oxygen to the site, which helps to repair soft tissue, encourage muscle tone and relax muscles contractions.

What is Heat Therapy?

Heat therapy has been a treatment option for many years. It is enjoying a comeback as an excellent way to reduce the severity of chronic pain. Heat therapy is in fact a pretty simple concept. Any treatment that uses heat to help soothe pain, relax muscles or ease stress can be classified as a form of heat therapy.
Natural Pain Relief Supplements Can Also Help Reduce Body Pain

Benefits of moist heat therapy:

Heat for back pain is a good first option for most types of body pain. Its effectiveness depends on the circumstances of the pain condition. Heat for back pain is medical traditions going back thousands of years. This treatment is is free or at least inexpensive, easy to use and available at home. Heat therapy works to boost the circulation to the affected area. Once again, it is mainly effective at treating muscular troubles. Heat should be applied after 48 hours following a wound. Heat application too soon will cause increased swelling and uneasiness in the injured area. Heat can be useful with a heating pad but moist heat will work much better. A hot wet towel can work wonders. Use ordinary sense with the temperature and do not make it so hot as to cause a burn. A professional caregiver can also apply here in the form of ultrasound or short-wave diathermy. These procedures are non-invasive and can increase the benefits from traditional heat therapy by targeting the exact source of the pain.

Gentle exercise is one way of reducing the effects of arthritis. Climbing stairs is an easy, low impact, and easy to do activity which may help you get arthritis and joint pain relief.

Climbing stairs can help you reduce stress on your body joints. This is because it can help you lose weight. And if you lose weight, your joints, hips, knees, and ankles don’t have to work so hard to support you.

Climbing stairs can strengthen joints. Since going up the stairs requires use of both your knees and ankles, you can exercise both. Stair climbing can also enhance the flexibility of these joints.

Regular stair climbing can help improve the flexibility of your joints, too, and reduce stiffness.

Stair climbing is easy to do at home (if you have stairs) and doesn’t require any special equipment or traveling to the gym.

Climbing stairs has multiple benefits in the management and prevention of the problems of arthritis.

Hip joint pain is a fairly common disorder. People suffering from hip joint pain tend to have limited mobility. This condition should be addressed and treated as soon as possible, otherwise it will lead to severe discomfort. Natural pain relief supplements can be a good form of treatment.

There can be several reasons for hip joint pain. Arthritis is one of the most common reasons. Often, if the arthritis is severe enough, hip replacement surgery must be considered.

Other reasons for hip joint pain include: trochanteric bursitis, which results from swelling of the bursa over the outside of the hip joint and can lead to severe joint pain. Tendonitis, in one of the tendons around the hip joint, could lead to hip joint pain too.

Other reasons for hip joint pain include hip wounds, strained muscles or hip fractures, osteonecrosis, and snapping hip syndrome. There are hip related problems which might happen in the course of childhood. These could develop into full fledged disorders in the adult stages. An example of this would be developmental dysplasia, in which hips are incorrectly formed during infancy. This improper formation can lead to difficulties with the hip joints. As the child grows, this condition becomes more serious and can result in limited mobility and reduced range of motion.

Perthes is another childhood disease which can cause permanent damage to the hip joint.

The treatment for hip joint pain depends on the reasons for the pain. This is why correct diagnosis is crucial.

Rest is one of the main treatments for hip joint pain. Warm and cold packs may also be used. Swelling and inflammation may be reduced using these methods. It may be necessary to use crutches to aid in moving around when there is significant joint pain in the hips.

Some research suggests that fibromyalgia has some connection to a defect in one of the body's key metabolic pathways.

Existing with chronic fibromyalgia pain is not easy, especially immediately after being diagnosed.

It is never easy to make the transition from seeing yourself as an active, productive, and healthy individual to a person who experiences chronic, unexplained pain.

Fibromyalgia is a disease which is not well understood.

It is marked by chronic body tenderness and body pain, and the causes are not defined.

Some research suggests that fibromyalgia has some connection to a defect in one of the body’s key metabolic pathways.

Existing with chronic fibromyalgia pain is not easy, especially immediately after being diagnosed.

It is never easy to make the transition from seeing yourself as an active, productive, and healthy individual to a person who experiences chronic, unexplained pain.

The first way to cope with fibromyalgia is to understand that learning to live with the disease will take time. You may have to relearn ways of coping and managing in order to deal with this illness effectively.

For most people, the initial reaction to this diagnosis is anger, sadness, and depression. The goal, though, is to move past these feelings and find a way to actively cope with the disease. You will most likely have good days and bad days. Take advantage of the good days and focus on how many things you still can do- this will help you on the bad days when you feel you can’t do anything.

Accept that your pain is real, and take active steps to manage your health.

Pace yourself to reduce or eliminate the likelihood that you will get fatigued. Reduce your sources of stress. Know that some days will be better than others.

Seek support. Ask friends and family to help you. Learn as much as you can about the illness. Seek out fibromyalgia support groups in your community; these can provide useful information for coping, as well as feelings of understanding and support.

Stay physically active, find an exercise program that works. Make sure your exercise regime is physician supervised and approved. You might get the most relief from water based exercises.

Be sure you keep your good health habits- eating right, drinking lots of water, taking your vitamins. Reduce or completely avoid cigarettes, alcohol and caffeine.

If the pain is significant, you might consider using a natural pain relief treatment for fibromyalgia

Do all you can to sleep well at night. Invest in a new bed or comfortable pillows. Many fibromyalgia sufferers find that a heated waterbed offers the most comfort. Try to avoid sleeping in odd or awkward positions, and sleep away from cold drafts, as these can cause you to hunch down into the covers, exacerbating your physical distress.

Fibromyalgia can be a frustrating and painful disease, but it is not life threatening. Research is being done every day, and this is resulting in better treatment options.
