Renaissance Fair

Hello Lovelies,

It's been a really long time since I did a legitimate blog post, so I figure I owed you guys a little something. A lot of time has passed since I last posted, which also means that I have done a lot of fun magickal things since (Mostly Stelladeora stuff with my band), but also a lot of other things!

In September, a dear family friend supplied Avi & I with 2 comped tickets to the NY Renaissance Fair!!! It was such a magickal day, and we went equipped with Avi's heavyduty SLR camera. We got so many great pics, and he even edited them all. And then it happened...

Upon backing them up onto his hard drive, he mixed up files, thought he had backed up the HIGH RES photos, and had already deleted the originals off of his computer desktop, by the time he had realized the mistake. ALL THE PHOTOS ARE GONE!! :-( We are super bummed about all of this, but we managed to save some very low res previews of the day. I tried to spruce them up a bit with a sprinkle of fairy dust, but nothing can express how upset we are that such an amazing day will only be remembered through thoughts! Here they are...

Hey Lovelies,

I know it's been a really , really , really... REALLY ... really ... long ... time....

.. really...

I'm actually returning to this blog here, because I have actually once and for all started to get this Etsy store up and running. Now hold your horses! It's not up yet! There are still a few very important things to do before launching it.

My dear friend Marie, has decided to help me finally be able to move forward with things ( as she is much better at "reading the fine print" , than I am, and she has agreed to help me out with the business aspect of things). Hey, I was born a creative person, but not so business savvy... so I am so glad to have her onboard. Together I think we can get a nice little shop going :-)

She will also aid me, in the creation of things. We are currently in the process of coming up with our inventory list, and items that we would like to test run , as the first batch in our shop.

The whole thing is just very exciting, and hopefully once it is launched and up & running, we can have some kind of blog party to promote it, and maybe even do a first day sale of some sorts, just to guage some interest.

Also, I know alot of you fellow bloggers have much experience in doing these blog party giveaways, and all that fun etsy store stuff, so any advice or help would be much appreciated!!

We are totally excited! Expect a launch in the next month or so!

Hello Lovelies!

I know it's been awhile... but it's been gloomy for a few days here in NJ, and I'm not going to lie. It has put me in an especially witchy mood :-) I'm in the mood to light candles , light some incense, put on some faerie piano cascades, and do some mixed media , or something :-)

Today is Friday , I have the rest of the afternoon off ... so I'll probably do just that !! Stay tuned ... who knows, what kind of masterpiece I'll come up with to post later on ....

Happy Birthday Harry Houdini!

Hello Lovelies!

Has everyone checked out Google today!?! It is Harry Houdini's Birthday... He would have been 137 years old!!

Here are some fun facts I dug up on Wikipedia

Harry Houdini was a Hungarian-born American magician and escapologist, stunt performer, actor and film producer noted for his sensational escape acts. He was also a skeptic who set out to expose frauds purporting to be supernatural phenomena.

Houdini has made escapes from chains, shackles, handcuffs, straight jackets, jail cells, has escaped while being suspended upside down, escaped from underwater restraints, and even buried alive stunts!

Houdini died of peritonitis from a ruptured appendix after taking multiple blows to the abdomen. His death was caused by a McGill University student, J. Gordon Whitehead, who wanted to test Houdini's claim that he was able to take any blow to the body above the waist without injury. He was hit three times before Houdini could tighten up his stomach muscles to avoid serious injury.

He died a very tragic death, but he will always remain one of the greatest magicians /escape artists to have ever lived!!

Yesterday was the first REALLY nice day New Jersey has had this year. It was a whopping 70 degrees with wind, but it was warm wind so it was nice. Nice weather puts me back into my creative state of mind. I went on a Garden Faery painting spree... I finally finished these ceramic little critters, which I had actually purchased LAST summer.

Now I can enjoy them in my garden THIS summer :-)

Hello Lovelies,

I know I have been MIA for the past week... but that is because I was on vacation in the lovely

LAS VEGAS

Avi & I went with another friend couple of ours. We stayed at the Mirage Hotel, which also hosts The Beatles LOVE Cirque du Soleil Show.

The show was AMAZING! The entrance to the show was also lots of fun. They have this technicolor runway, that my friend Mel & I had fun walking down, dressed up for the town.

Valentine's Day Truffles & Bettina May's Pin Up Class! Register Today!

Hello Lovelies...

SO all of these unfinished projects have crept on on me, and so has Valentine's Day! I am so ashamed that I have not had the time to throw together any sort of V-Day Craft project, but life is so crazy lately... ( crazy in a good way! busy busy busy!)

BUT , alas.. i did want to do a post for Valentine's Day. So here it goes... I had originally got the idea from PinkKisses.com. They sell these really amazing Birthday Cake Batter Chocolates, and I figured , how hard can these be to make myself ?!? ( They were TO DIE FOR , By the way) ... so I just HAD to share this recipe ( I actually found on another site!) The recipe I found on the site is a bit different, but actually more fitting for Valentine's Day , since they used Pink Strawberry Cake Mix. But this should work with any boxed cake mix. I CANNOT wait to finally try this recipe! Enjoy this one as well!

Recipe Courtesy of How Sweet Eats

Chocolate Covered Strawberry Cake Balls
makes about 40 1-inch balls
1 box Duncan Hines strawberry cake mix, prepared and baked
1 1/2 cups cream cheese frosting (homemade or 1 can of prepared)
6 ounces high quality white, dark or milk chocolate (I often use Ghiradelli or Lindt)
additional pink food coloring if desire (I used a drop for a more pink look)
sprinkles, decorations, etc
Prepare cake batter and bake as directed. I often use a 9 x 13 cake pan as I find this is easiest.
Once cake has cooled, scoop it out of the cake pan and into the bowl of an electric mixer. Add frosting and mix on low to medium speed until a pink dough forms. This can also be done by hand, but may not be mixed as well and will take longer. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or overnight.
Roll in 1-inch balls and place on parchment paper laying on a sheet pan. Freeze the balls for at least 1 hour. Right before removing, melt chocolate in a double boiler or the microwave (if in the microwave, melt in 30 second increments until melted completely). Using a fork, dip balls in chocolate and gently flip it around, just until coated. Lift it out with the fork, allowing any excess chocolate to drip off. Decorate as desired, refrigerating immediately after for at least a few minutes.
We like these best chilled, but they can also be kept at room temperature.

My Birthday: Boobies, Bowling, & Booze!

Hey Lovelies,

I know I have been absent in the wonderful world of blogging for a couple months now... but the only excuse that I have is that I have been so busy doing awesome things... For today's blog entry, I wanted to share with you , all of the fun that I had on my 27th Birthday!

First of all, if any of you readers live in New Jersey , and you have never been to Asbury Lanes, you should really make the trip , because it is a BLAST ! It is a bowling alley/music venue, and they also have other fun stuff like Burlesque shows every so often, and there just so happened to be one the weekend before my birthday.

I just HAD to get to this, I have been wanting to go to one there for the longest time, and no one can say no to you on your birthday ;-)

Asbury Lanes is probably one of my favorite places in Asbury Park. When you walk in, you just get transported back to the 1960s... I don't think this place has changed since it was first established! Hey Lovelies, and Ladies,

Yea yea, I know ... I've been SO MIA , but the holidays have consumed me!! First it was my birthday, then Christmas, then a snow storm, then consoling a friend through a tough breakup, then New Years! One after the other , bang bang bang... It was a blast, but boy am I glad it's over so then I can get on with my priorities, and do what I need to do to start this new year off the right way!

I am working right now to edit a lot of photos so you can oogle at all of the fun I've been having the past month or so... But in the meantime I wanted to share with you , a few fun finds!

Much Needed Month Off but alot of band stuff going on !

Hey Lovelies!!

I know I have been MIA all month long, but it was very much needed after all of my stressful but very fun month of October! All of the Halloween prepping and blogging had me sooooo exhaustes! I have taken off from the blogging scene for the month of November, but it has been a very busy real life for me, nonetheless. My band Stelladeora has been prepping all month long for our first ever acoustic show on December 1st! We have been practicing 3x a week, and it still feels like we are so unprepared. I'm sure things will be fine, things always seem to come together last minute, or under the pressure of watching eyes, but that anxiety is still there.

Well I just wanted to share some of the stuff we've been working on. Here is a sticker I designed to hand out at our upcoming shows...

Also here is a little doodle that I did in my sketchbook... It is a hot air balloon because our song "Magnetic Poetry" is about a man who takes his lover up on a hot air balloon ride,in a secret plan to throw her to her death because she couldn't be with him due to a mental disorder. He throws her to the ground only to find out that she had put a note in his pocket saying that she is now being treated for her illness and they can finally be together. He screams to himself "WHAT HAVE I DONE!?!" Here is our Hot Air Balloon logo that we are now using on our website

This drawing was done in Ink, water color, color pencil , and the hot air balloon stripes was a napkin I collaged onto the drawing. This image I am working on to put onto some band merchandise which will be available to purchase on our webstore in the near future. Our bass player Ryan also had the idea to make die cut magnets with our "Magnetic Poetry" balloon , lol how fitting !

Also, speaking of Magnetic Poetry, Hollywood Girl decided to use our track again for Quinn's Video Log!

And one last bit of band news! We are competing in Converse's Get Out of the Garage Contest!

Halloween Party 2010!!!

Hey Lovelies,

So finally I am able to wind down from all of the Halloween stress and fun!!! Wow, so much prep went into this year, but it was all worth it , because the party was so much fun!!! Everyone's costumes were so great, and I'm so glad Avi and I have set the bar last year, and were able to inspire our friends and family to be a lot more creative !! The Carubia household really does go all out ! We pull out all the stops, from the food to the decor ... it's the little touches that really make it that much more awesome...

My parents did pretty good at whipping a costume together last minute !

The fireplace is a glow with pumpkin spice candles and a skull, the mantle is adorned with a Jack-o-Lantern, Fall Leaves, and Festive Orange Lights!

We both made our costumes from scratch and thrift store items. I sewed my dress , and also made my cape from fabric and floral wiring. I also painted stenciled letters onto a thick piece of ribbon bought from Walmart. Avi painted white stripes onto a plain black thrift store suit jacket and dress pants. He bought his boots off ebay and i found my boots at a thrift store for 6 bux! What a steal! For makeup, avi used greas paint, I also used grease paint on my face and chest area, and for my arms I was so impatient, I just used acrylic water based paint. We both got our wigs from Party Stores, and spruced them up a bit to look more like the characters. I pinned mine up into a messy bun, and Avi spray painted his wig a bit yellow and green, and then spirit gummed craft moss around his head and face to give it the rotting appearance. He also used teeth stain, which made his teeth look completely disgusting and unkissable, LOL! Well there's our costumes.. not too shabby huh?

Tea Party Under A Halloween Moon! Hosted by Frosted Petunias

Hey lovelies!!

I almost though I wouldn't make this one, with all of my real life Halloween Party/Costume prep, since I am making my WHOLE costume from scratch this year! It is so much work, but will look so amazing once I am actually able to wear all of it !?!? AAHH! I am so excited, I cannot contain it , at all !!

It does kinda suck though , because I am sick at the moment. I think I have come down with an Upper Respiratory Infection, I am so prone to these , I hate it !! So I had to really pull every last bit of myself together, to get these pics done... At least once that part was done, I got to lay in bed on my laptop as I edited :-) ... I did not want to let Miss Anna down!!

And now , without further adieu, I bring you La Boheme Magique's Tea Party Under a Halloween Moon!!

There once was a little mouse named Penelope Mouskewitch, and Oh! How she LOVED Halloween! This year she decided to have a tea party and have all of her friend's over to celebrate! But wait! She needed a costume! What was a mouse to wear? So she scratched her little noggin, and scratched it some more, and decided to sit down at her antique sewing machine, and make the first thing that popped into her mind !

Once she started sewing, she couldn't stop! And time ticked away! The party was only in an hour! And she still had to do her witching hour spell, and take her Pumpkin Cream Puffs out of the oven before they burned!!

She headed over to her pantry, where she collected ingredients to whip up a special concoction!

She also sought to her Voodoo magick alter, adorned with idols and statues of magic wizards, china dolls, potion bottles, and a voodoo worry doll!

Alas! She had found the perfect spell!!

When the white dog is out

And trots all about

Under the clouds

That are over the Moon,

And the hag with her broom

Rides high on the wind,

And the cat on the fence

Spits even at friends,

Then it is right

To conjure a light

Against every Spirit

That shadows the night.

Thus Say:

She poured her contents into her magickal black cast iron cauldron, and this amazing light had emerged from it! You could feel the electricity running through the room, charging the evening with the magic spirits!

She then smelled something! OH NO!! THE PUMPKIN CREAM PUFFS! She ran to the kitchen and thew open the oven door...

Phew ! Just in time! As the oven door swung open , the Pumpkin Cream Puffs filled the room with such a magical aroma !! Just then the doorbell rang! She had gotten everything done , just in time ! She quickly changed into her homemade costume, and raced to the door!

Her first guest was her dear friend Marvin...

He was a martian, and always hated that everyone got him confused with the character from Looney Tunes!! He went to the party as himself, because everyone is always scared of him anyway !

The next guest was Penelope's dear friend Fiona. Fiona had come dressed as a house maid!

The doorbell rang again, and to Penelope's surprise, it was her fun friends Heckyll, Jekyll and Bob! Heckyll decided to be a Clown, Jeckyll decided to be count Dracula, and Bob was dressed as a scary monster dragon!

The doorbell rang once more! It was the trolls from down the mushroom patch ! Higgle, Hoggle, and Gorny!

So all of the guests have arrived!! They all crowded around the dining room table, amongst the Halloween Decor that magically put itself up during Penelope's Magic Spell!

They dined on Pumpkin Creampuffs, cheese and crackers, pumpin spiced tea, apple cider, and caramel apples! They had delcious conversation , and everyone enjoyed themselves so much! The clock stuck 12, and everyone was so pooped from all the ghoulish delightful fun! So they decided to call it a night...

Once everyone had shuffled out, Penelope swept the floor and thought to herself "My , I have such wonderful friends!"

She then went to bed and had dreams of the full Halloween moon...

What a fantastic Halloween it was !

Spooky Monday #7

Hello Lovelies!!

First of all, If you haven't already, please visit the lovely Wendy's Blog and her Adventure's in Wonderland ! She is the genius behind the Spooky Monday event that has been going on the past month or so, and she has given me such an incentive to actually be inspired by my favorite time of year! So please give her blog a visit when you can!

I am so sorry I am a little late on my Spooky Monday post today, but trust me , it was well worth the wait, because I have some lovely treats for you today :-)

I did some more shopping, and decorating!! I hit up Party City last Friday for some glittery creepy cutouts to give my kitchen an extra spooky flair this year !!

I also decided to do the chandelier again, it was a real hit last year! All that I did, was wrap some scrap black fabric netting around it, and held in place with some black twist ties... This year I added a bit more to it! I threaded some dangly spider rings and hung from the arms of the chandelier.

I then added some cute stuffed pumpkin and black cat ornaments , and completed the netting with spooky glittery spiders from Party City...

I gave my Bailey's, Averno, and blank wine bottle a ghoulish makeover with these labels, I also bought from Party City!

What do you know! It's time for lunch!! How bout a nice bowl of Witch's Stew (homemade chickarina soup, courtesy of my dad) , with a Tim Burton inspired whimsical swirly iron spoon!

Oh boy, I'm sure getting thirsty! How bout some vampire's blood on ice , in my brand new Sandra Magsamen Kitty Kat mug I purchased at Walmart at the regular price of $5.00!! What a steal ! They also had witches and pumpkins! So hurry and get your Sandra Magsamen Halloween mugs before the season is over ! On the back it says "Eat, Drink, and Be Scary" teehee! :-) They all said different things ...

So today was a very Spooky Day at school... I probably have never mentioned this before, but I am a pre school music teacher. So today with my kids, I did a bunch of Halloween activities. We counted Pumpkins, and Bats, and we also sang a little song about the fall leaves :

too! We also played "Pass the Pumpkin", kinda like Hot Potato, but instead of being out when the music stops , I reward every kiddie a Halloween Sticker !!

Oh and by the way , check out my Jack & Sally shirt :-) , they're my fave !!

So after my class today, I decided to take a mini detour to Target because I was on the hunt for some Pumpkin Spice tea... Well I didn't find Pumpkin Spice tea... But I DID find an amazing new discovery!!

Lipton's Vanilla Caramel Truffle !! OMG !!! It is sooooo yummy!! They come in these little clear pyramid cloth tea bags, and you can see the small caramel shavings in the bags , which melt when you pour in the hot water! Add a splash of milk , and a dollop of sugar for the best taste!! It is also good over ice :-)

I also bought a really cute dress from Xhiliration, it is black , with grey lace straps and grey lace design on the front... I will post some pics when I feel like trying it on to model it :-)

Well in closing, I leave you with what I had started watching lastnight, and I will try to finish tonight! Here's to Elvira, and the amazing 80s !

Now on to my party !! Since I am still in the middle of my party prep for this year ( My real life Halloween party will be held October 30) , I decided for my party dedicated to A Fanciful Twist, I will post my party pictures from last year.

Last year Avi and I decided on being the Mad Hatter and the Queen of Hearts... His version of the Mad Hatter was inspired from Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland movie, while my Queen of Hearts was more obscure and randomly conjured up. I even made the crown from scratch out of floral wire, felt and lace, and hot glue...

At our party, we had an assortment of spooky foods !!

I made my famous "Deviled Eggs" with little triangular red pepper slices to act as devil horns...

Spooky Monday #6

MYYYY ooohhh MYYYYY!!!! So my lovelies,

I regret to inform you that I do not have much of a spooky Monday Post this week, nor did I have one for last week because of my bandwidth problem, that I was able to fix luckily! ...

This week I promise you I am not slacking, it is actually quite the opposite! I have decided what I want to be for Halloween, and I have been so busy , running around from store to store , collecting all of the fabric and accessories I need to create my costume from scratch!!!

I don't want to post it on here because, I'm not sure if any of my real life friends read my little craft blog here, but I want to keep my costume a complete surprise for them, for when they come to my party! But I guess I can post some pics of SOME of my preparation... I just have to be sure to keep SOME of it , or most, a mystery !! But I do promise that after all is said and done, I will have TONS of halloween party photos for you all to oogle over !! :-)

Until I get some pics together of some costume prep, here are some pics to hold you over for now. Last weekend my brother came home from LA for my uncle's wedding , so we went to the pumpkin patch with some friends the day after...

Hello Lovelies !

So, I thought about taking the day off , and not doing a Spooky Monday post, and then I thought about it , and I just figured it wouldn't be Monday without one....

I have just been so exhausted , the Practical Magic Post really took so much energy out of me , not to mention all of the music biz stuff going on lately... But I really love coming on here and reading all of the awesome comments, and meeting new people, so I really hate letting my readers down...

SO, I am going to do a Spooky Monday post for today , it will just be short and sweet.. because I want to focus on getting around to visiting each and every single blog signed up for mine and Anna's PM party !! I was able to get almost up to the end of the A's! Still so many to go! Please bare with me, I am slowly but surely making my rounds :-)

But anyways, here is what I had in mind for my Spooky Monday Post#5...

About 3 years ago, I had started up a web-zine for all of the arts! It was a lot of fun to create and piece together, but with the amount of work that goes into each issue, and doing it all by myself... it was very short lived, unfortunately! I did manage to squeeze out a Halloween issue, so I wanted to share with you a few pages from the issue...

Up until my teenage years, my mom usually made my costumes from scratch... My favorites were Pippi Longstockings (top right) , and Sally the Ragdoll (bottom right).

Welcome to my Practical Magic Blog Party Post !!

I found an ad in the newspaper today for this beautiful house. As soon as I saw it, I was overtaken by a strong sense of deja vu. I knew right away that I had to go see it, maybe not to buy it , but just to see if anything about it could jolt my memory...

I used the email address in the ad, to contact Miss Jenney. When she responded, she wasn't very welcoming, or descriptive in her email, but very shortly supplied me with the address. I decided to take the drive, since it was surprisingly not too far from where I lived.

When I pulled up to the house, I immediately thought It was the most beautiful house I had ever seen!

As soon as I walked in the door, I could feel something special. I stood in the Parlor and felt some kind of force pushing me into the kitchen and towards the attic stairs

It lured me up to the attic!

I followed a winding staircase to the very top and saw a bright light coming from under the entrance door. Upon entering, the light grew stronger....

I peeked around the corner and what I found was an old brown trunk. There seemed to be this bright magical light emerging from it !

I walked closer, and I proceeded to lift the lid with caution. I barely touched it, when it just flew open by itself !

What I found inside was breathtaking!!

I reached in, and pulled out an old spell book!! On the cover it said "La Boheme Magique's Book of Shadows" I wonder where this came from, and who's this was.

On the inside cover it said property of Jet and Frances Owens, but that was crossed out. Underneath that, it said Property of Sally and Gillian Owens. That was crossed out as well! Underneath that, it said property of Antonia and Kylie Owens... It looks like it has been passed down from generation to generation... I wondered who would get it next...

I opened it up to center, and inside I found a magical spell...

The left page appeared to be some sort of Bird Love Spell, where you are supposed to stick a bird with a pin needle to attract the one you love...

On the right side page was a spell titled "Spiritus". The recipe called for

4 oz of Braided Wheat Straw Bundles

2 oz of Blue Sage

2 oz of Mandragora

1 Tbl of Henbane Pulp

and then there was a disclaimer which read: Henbane is poisonous!

This spell is said to revive the dead, but precaution must be taken, because it is said that they will come back as something dark and unnatural!!

I figured I was not at liberty to try either of these spells, but I might need the book for something else, so I took it with me. In the trunk, under the book, was some old gypsyesque clothing, and I couldn't help but play dressup! I took out a beautiful lavender purple lace dress with silk lining.

I finagled my way into the antique couture, when all of the sudden I felt a really cold draft as if somebody had ran past me!

Just then, the old phonograph went on by itself, and it started playing Elvis Presley's "You Are Always on My Mind" !! It made me jump out of my skin!!

I got that chill again, like someone had rushed past me, so I decided to go back downstairs!

As I was walking back down the winding staircase from the attic, this magical smell started to overtake me!!!

It lured me through the magickal kitchen, and out into the garden. It was then, I realized what this smell was!!!! When I arrived in the garden, I saw a table seated for one, with the most amazing treat one could ever wish for!!

Brownies for Breakfast!!

The table was also adorned with an old photo of a dark haired woman. Her face looked very familiar. Next to her was a green vase that looked like it was from a botanical shop, and a watch inscribed with the words Sally Owens. On top of the plate, was a note... I wondered if I was supposed to read it. I didn't want to impose, being that I was only here for an open house!

I could not contain my curiosity any longer ! I carefully pulled the pink and white silk ribbon , and opened the parchment...

It wasn't addressed to anyone specific, but for some reason I felt like I was supposed to be the one reading this...

It read:

Our Dearest Inheritor,

You are sent here today not by choice , but by the magickal plan we have set for you! We knew you would be here one day! And it is only you , who will carry on the true gifts of The Owens Family! Please take a bite of one of our magickal breakfast brownies, a recipe which has been passed down through generations, and in turn you will inherit all that is planned for you!!

Your Beloved Aunts,

Kylie and Antonia Owens

I looked around carefully to see if anyone was around. I skimmed through the letter again briefly. I kept telling myself that this was meant to be. I hopefully shrugged my shoulders,

and took a bite.

I sat there for about a minute afterward waiting to shrink, or grow like Alice, but it didn't happen. All of the sudden these wild roses started blooming out of nowhere! The vines started growing and thickening around the white lattice on the harbor leading out into the front yard overlooking the bay. I thought I should follow the path. This whole thing has felt like one sign after another.

As I was approaching the harbor, I felt a cold breeze like someone had run past me again! There was a toad resting along the pathway as if to say that I was going the right way...

I arrived on the front porch, and I noticed a little table set up as if it were going to tell my fortune! On the table, was a crystal ball, and a tarot deck set out on purple silk! I had felt a cold chill run through my whole body. I felt like someone had run past me a few times again. Was there some kind of phenomenon going on here, or was I just going crazy ?

I sat down and gazed into the crystal ball and what I saw took me by surprise!

First I saw two little girls sending off rose petals into the moonlight. Next I saw a few women dancing around the same magickal kitchen I had walked through just moments prior. I then saw two lovers embracing. The last thing I saw in the crystal was this very house on Hallow's Eve, white and statuesque against the midnight sky. There was a crowd below as if they were watching a show! Then, I noticed the black silouhettes, standing on top of the roof with umbrellas as if they were going to jump!

And jump they did!!

Who's life was this I was seeing, and what did it have to do with me ??

It was starting to get dark out now, so I decided to call it a night. I would sleep on my thoughts about the house, and email Lucinda in the morning with all of these questions...

Just then, I saw a woman standing by the harbor. She had long strawberry blondish red hair, and she was holding a black cat. I felt like I had seen her before.

I had asked her if she was here to see the house as well, and if she had been able to get in touch with Lucinda Jenney, the realtor. She had told me that Lucinda Jenney was the late daughter of the late late Sarah Jenney.

She had explained, " Sarah and Sally had been in a feud for years growing up, but that all changed when Sarah had helped Sally and The Aunts save my life. From that moment on, Sarah had promised to help protect and guide the Owens family for years to come. Sarah had a daughter Lucinda, who had grown close with Sallys' daughters Kylie and Antonia."

I had about a million questions running through my head. I looked down at the letter one more time, for only a few seconds. When I had lifted my head again to ask the woman all the questions I needed answered, she was nowhere to be found...

I decided to just go home and sleep, it had been a long day.

That night in my dreams, I had dreamt of people I had never thought of before. In my dream, my great grandmother was Sally Owens.

Witchcraft had brought my Great Grandma Sally and officer Gary Hallet together. Sally already had two children, Kylie and Antonia in a prior marriage with Michael, who was killed by Maria's Curse. When Sally married Gary, she had a third child, Audrina Owens Hallett. Kyle, Antonia, and Audrina had grown up together . Audrina had run away when she was 18, and had given birth to my mother. Audrina had raised my mother by herself, and never spoke about her family. She had never heard Audrina speak of the Owen's name, since she had the option to use her father's last name. So Audrina is my grandmother and that makes Kylie and Antonia my Great Aunts! Time went on, and most of the Owen's Family had either passed on , or lost touch. When I awoke, I had realized what everything meant. Lucinda is keeping her mother's word, helping my great Aunts salvage whatever is left of the Owen's Family history ever since that night they saved Gillian.

Then it hit me! The woman I spoke to lastnight who disappeared was the ghost of Gillian Owens! All day, when I had felt like someone had ran past me, was the presence of the spirits of my ancestors, letting me know that I was in the right place!

I then wondered if the prophetic dream was the result of that brownie bite I had taken, or pure coincidence!

Just then, the cleaning broom in the corner of my room had fallen!

Is Company Coming?

Spooky Monday #4

Hello Lovelies!

Here I am with Spooky Post #4 !! This past week was a great one! I did a lot of Halloween hunting, and made a few stops at A.C. Moore, and Target! Halloween season is in full swing! I LOVE walking down the aisle's hearing those ghost machines "WHOOOOOOOOOO!!!!" It is so hard to resist dishing out some major bucks on all the cute spooky gear! I did make a few splurges this week... Here are some of them...

A cute vintage-esque Halloween Duo, purchased from A.C. Moore.

Here is a little pumpkin guy , he reminded me of those pumpkins on the stakes in the beginning of NMBC ( they're in the next picture on the tv screen) , so I scooped him up from A.C. Moore as well!

I started decorating my living room as well, while watching NMBC!

I put some fake fall leaves and orange lights across the wall unit.

Below is a faux fireplace adorned with some candles, and a Skull I also bought from A.C. Moore!

Who knew, Lindt makes Halloween Jack-o-Lantern Chocolates! A nice spooky treat for anyone who craves something sweet!

So, this year I am really itching to try this recipe!!

I saw it a few years ago, on the Food Network , on Michael Chiarello's show Easy Entertaining With Michael Chiarello . The episode is called Pumpkin Picking Party.... He lives on a vineyard in the Nappa Valley in California.

I absolutely LOVED this episode, because it embodied everything I love about the Fall!! He did a lot of recipes using pumpkins, and squash, all which he picked on his land! So then he made this Acini Pepe dish using a pumpkin and squash, and Acini Pepe is one of my favorite pastas, so I was itching to try this for a long time now! Maybe this year I will finally get to !

For anyone else, who shares the same love for Acini Pepe and Pumpkin as I do , here is the recipe below! Let me know how it turns out for you!!

1 large pumpkin, about 6 pounds
Extra-virgin olive oil, for oiling pumpkin, plus 2 tablespoons
Salt and freshly ground pepper
About 4 cups chicken stock or canned low-salt chicken broth
1 cup finely chopped onion
2 teaspoons finely chopped fresh thyme leaves
1 1/2 pounds dried pastina or other small pasta, such as riso
2 cups roasted butternut squash (see recipe below)
1/2 turkey breast, pre-cooked, chopped small
1/2 cup freshly grated Parmesan, plus a small piece for garnishing
Balsamic vinegar dressing, optional
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F.

Cut the lid off the pumpkin and scoop out the seeds and fibers. Scrape away some of the flesh, especially around the top, to form a large, smooth inner cavity. Make sure to leave the shell at least 1-inch thick all around. Oil the pumpkin inside and out and season inside with salt and pepper. Replace the lid. Place on a baking sheet and bake until about 2/3 cooked but still firm enough to stand and act as the soup container, about 40 minutes. Do not over-bake. If a good deal of liquid gathers in the bottom, spoon out and discard. Set aside; it will stay warm on its own for a good while.

Bring the stock to a low simmer in a saucepan. Heat the remaining 2 tablespoons olive oil in a large saute pan over medium-high heat until hot. Add the onion and cook until soft but not brown, 2 to 3 minutes. Add the thyme, stir, and add the pastina. Stir and add 2 cups of heated stock. Bring the mixture up to a simmer.

Simmer, adding the stock 1/2 cup at a time as the previous addition is absorbed and stirring occasionally to prevent the pastina from sticking to the bottom of the pan, until the pasta is al dente, about 15 minutes. Add the roasted squash and turkey to reheat. Stir well. The consistency should be quite loose, like a thick soup. Add more stock, if necessary. Add the 1/2 cup cheese and let melt for a moment before stirring in. Taste for seasoning. Fill the reserved pumpkin shell with the pastina. Grate Parmesan on top and replace the lid and take to the table immediately.

You could also serve this in individual tureens using smaller pumpkins or acorn squash.

This cartoon is from 1942, and I remember my mom taping this for me on an old VHS back when I was probably like 5 years old. Here is a review I found on IMDB.com which is pretty spot on!

Jasper and the Haunted House is another George Pal Puppetoon about a black boy and his troubles. This time, the scarecrow switches a sign that leads Jasper to a haunted house instead of a deacon's place where he brings a pie. There's an entertaining swing number with the house's piano, and books on a shelf moving to the music. Perhaps because it involves a black boy being scared of a haunted house, this short is considered racist but, really, it's just a boy who happens to be African-American who is simply frightened of something unusual happening. Seek this out if you're a fan of all puppet animation but if what I've just described is politically incorrect, just avoid.

This past week I have received this year's Autumn issue of Better Homes and Gardens, so I will definitely be doing a piece on that for next Spooky Monday! I think it is because there is so much I love about this movie, that it was hard to decide exactly what aspect of it I wanted to portray... but I think I am better under pressure. I think I def have a good idea of where to go with my post... but we will see. I am going to let it unfold naturally , and hope for the best ! LOL...

Hey Lovelies!!Aside from all the craft projects, I figured I would let you in on some information about what I am up to musicially! As most of you know, I have formed a band called Stelladeora, with Avi! We have some things in the works, such as hauling ass in the studio to finish up our EP, and searching for a bass player and lead guitarist to complete our live band... We also landed our very first placement opportunity with Hollywood Girl! Please read below for details !!
