Paris in the rain

One my newest jewelry designs were inspired by the fantasy of Paris in the rain. I'm not sure if the reality of walking the streets of Paris in the rain would live up to the day dream, but the scene in my mind if full of romance, beauty, light and love.
I created these moonstone earrings to resemble shimmering raindrops sliding down warm, gold plated chain. Just below the gold plated ear wire are delicate labradorite beads that resemble little gray iridescent clouds. They were hand wire wrapped with love and can be worn with just about anything. Weeds' Nancy Botwin's boho chic style

I think of all my bohemian style icons, Mary Louise Parker as Nancy Botwin on Weeds is my absolute favorite. No one does her laid-back boho chic casual style quite like her. Everything she wears looks effortless and amazingly chic. Of course being the jewelry girl that I am, I am totally obsessed with her jewelry! The layers of gold chain with funky pendants, the occassional draping beaded necklaces and the big boho earrings are simply to die for. And of course the shoes.... I'm not one typically for cowboy boots but she makes them look so cool! I do however, prefer her chunky platforms and moccasin boots to the rest but I'd be happy with just about anything in her wardrobe.

Boho Diva Jewelry Inspiration

My newest piece listed on the Boho Diva Jewelry Etsy shop shown below was inspired by a lovely picture I stumbled upon online of a gorgeous beach sunset. The soft, frothy colors spoke to me and I decided to interpret these into this 4 strand beaded bracelet. However, I can't take all the credit for this one... one of my dearest friends picked out most of the stones for this bracelet after I gazed too long at the beachy photo and felt a little overwhelmed (thank you Tambi!)

The bracelet was hand crafted from pale pink, blue and gold Czech fire-polished faceted beads, plus gold plated chain decorated with hand wrapped aquamarine beads, some funky brass and green beads, rose quartz tear drops and delicate peachy colored citrine beads. I know I say this a lot, but this one is my new favorite!

And here's the picture that inspired it all

Wavy A-Line 'do

It seems that every three years or so I get the urge to chop my long locks into some kind of bob hairstyle.  About two or three weeks ago I must have hit that three year mark because I bravely decided to go for it and asked my hairdresser to hack off at least 12 inches of hair.  She gave me a beautiful, sleek A-line bob which she flat ironed to perfection.  Of course a good blow-dry and flat iron seems to be the most efficient way to style my hair for everyday rushed mornings heading to work, but my favorite hairstyles are always wavy, beachy and messy!  Below is a picture of my new hair do all clean and flat ironed followed up some cute ideas for fun wavy boho bobs!

Boho Diva Jewelry Inspiration

The latest piece listed on www.bohodivajewelry.etsy.com was inspired by the amazing Thea Porter emerald green gown below sported by none other than Miss Nicole Richie.  I encorporated the rich emerald green and sleek black colors with shiny gold to create a lovely mutli strand boho beaded bracelet.  Please check out the full listing here for all the details: https://www.etsy.com/listing/99764955/multi-strand-boho-beaded-emerald-green

lady in red

Current obsession - red lipstick
When I was a kid staying up past my bedtime to watch my then idol Kelly Bundy on Married with Children, I associated red lipstick with being a cool, rebellious, feminine girl.  As far as I knew, all the guys loved her and she always looked like a rock star.  Even though she was a total moron, I completely idolized her.  Shortly thereafter, Cry Baby came out and my naughty girl hero was replaced by Ms Allison Vernon-Williams, the good girl gone bad (part square, part drape).  Around that time, I scraped together enough money to buy some cheap Wet n’ Wild red lipstick and black eyeliner from the grocery store so I could give myself my very own “bad girl beauty makeover”.  I’m sure my parents were thrilled considering I was about 12 years old and was sporting more make-up than the average streetwalker.  Obviously they didn’t let me out of the house like that often, but I’ve seen pictures and it wasn’t a pretty sight.  By the time I got to junior high, and then high school the “natural look” was the norm and all my cheap cosmetics were replaced with the good department store brands in modest shades of plum, rose and Earth-tones.  Since then, my make-up boxes have been brimming with mostly pink glosses ranging in shades from bright Barbie tints to frosty and pale.  I’ve also got a substantial collection of nudes and sheer peachy tones as well.  It wasn’t until recently that I rediscovered by affection for deep, crimson reds.  I love the versatility of a strong red mouth.  It can go from classic Marilyn to rocker Deborah Harry with very little effort.  Finding the perfect shade can be tricky, but once you do every other shade of lipstick will pale in comparison.  Suddenly all my innocent pink and peach glosses look boring and lackluster.  A new tube of red lipstick has got to be the single cheapest, easiest way brighten up your face, add a little sex appeal and pull your look together with little to no effort.  Besides new shoes, what can be better than that?
