FAQ NEW YEAR'S EVE at BELLEVUE ARTS MUSEUM Saturday, December 31st 2011

Ticket prices are subject to change/go up as we get closer to event date - 12/31/2011. All ticket sales are final and non-refundable. Event has annually attracted 500+ people per event for the past 7 years.

WHAT IS THE PROCESS IF I PURCHASE TICKETS ONLINE?
A: First, please note, physical tickets will not be mailed to a physical address. You will pick up tickets upon check in at the day of the event. You will need your ID and your proof of receipt from where you purchased tickets (BollyGrooves Blog (this site), Sulekha.com, or any other online websites) so we can check it against our master purchasing list and hand you your purchased passes upon arrival/check in. Check in begins at 9:15 PM.

We ask that all persons be present at the time of check-in, for example, if you have purchased 4 tickets, it is highly advised that all 4 people be present at the time of check-in with the purchaser of the tickets - if not, then we will hand the purchaser of the tickets all the admission passes and it is the purchaser's responsibility to hand the passes over to their party if all from the designated purchaser's party are not present at the time of check-in.

Tickets/passes will ONLY be handed to the person whose name is on the master list (the actual purchaser) and checks in with proper ID and receipt (via print or show a copy of the receipt via smart phone). The purchaser will be responsible to give the tickets to the people in his/her party if all are not present at time of check in. We CAN NOT hold spots under your purchased party at the door for people whose name is not on the master sheet even if you have a number of people showing up later. Again, the person who is the purchaser on master list must be present with ID and proof of their receipt (whether printed or on their smart phone in email) to gain admission and receive all admission passes. We can not emphasize this enough, there will be no exceptions to this.

*Since Marriott has run out of room spaces, we suggest the Sheraton Hotel in Bellevue, Hyatt and the Hilton as these are near by locations to the Museum.

How Should I dress, what is the attire requirement?
We ask you participate in our theme and encourage you to wear black and or white (or both). We kindly ask that you not wear jeans, sweats and sneakers. For men, we ask you wear a suit/coat dress shirt slacks as this is semi-formal (not full formal so ties not required) For women: Indian formal wear: Sari, Salwar Kameez, American dress or nice suit pants outfit (no jeans). Dressing up is highly encouraged and advised as this is a classy location.

Is there a group discount?
A: Yes for a group of 6 or more we can do a discount, however at this time as of 12/27, this will be on a case by case basis since we have sold our first 200 tickets now – please see price level above via Sulekha.com. For a group of 6 or more there is a discount. For very large groups, feel free to email groovynites@gmail.com to get any questions answered - payment method for large & small groups should be done at once for the group discount to apply.

Will there be food and drinks at the event?
Yes, there will be food, but note, these are light appetizers. There will be 4 cash bars set-up from 9:30 - 1:30 AM (4+ Bartenders at the event) and there will be light appetizers from 9:30 PM to 11 PM . PLEASE NOTE: the bars are CASH BARS and ATMs are not in the Museum, so please come prepared with Cash for bar/drinks purchase and/or the closest ATM will be about 1-2 blocks away.

Can I bring food or drink from outside
No, absolutely no exceptions. No food or drink (including water) from outside will be allowed inside and vice versa, you can not take your purchased drink from the Museum outside once inside /admitted to the event.

Is there childcare?
We do not have childcare arrangements at this time as of 12/28/2011. However, if you require a babysitter, we have access to top qualified babysitters and Nannies. Please email groovynites@gmail.com to get the reference/referral on details so you can be secured with a professional childcare specialist.

Is there parking, what is the parking situation?
A: Yes, there general parking which is complimentary parking, right next to the Museum and also in Lincoln Square. Also there is parking across at the mall, next to Cheesecake Factory, however if you want Valet parking, that is also available next door to the Westin Hotel.

What is the duration of the event?
A: Check in begins at 9:15 PM and event goes to 1:45 AM.

Why are children not allowed?
A: Safety & Liability with alcohol and adults 21+ may be consuming alcohol.

Will only Bollywood music be played all night?
A: Yes & No, we will mash-up with Top 40, house, R&B and at least 70% Bollywood & Desi music. However, just know that the music is at this event is the best you will get on the entire West Coast for Bollywood & Mash-up so you will not be off the dance floor.

Can we get a refund if we decide not to go?
A: NO, once tickets are purchased refunds are not allowed - all purchases are final and since tend to sell out annually, it's considerably hard for us to keep track of who did not attend or will attend to offer refunds. Transferring of tickets will be on a case by case basis with at least 48 hours of advance notice – there must be at least 48 hours in advance notice that there will be a transfer or a pick up by someone other than yourself in your name.

How many people plan to attend?
A: 400-500 people are expected. There will be room on the dance floor.

Will everyone get to sit at a table and sit down?
Due to maximizing dancing area/space, we have a limited number of tables inside and people will be able to grab tables on a first come first serve basis. However, there will be chairs set-up for people to sit down around the Museum + two separate lounge areas. There will also be an area for people to check in their coats as well in case they get there late and can't get a table.

Will there be coat check?
Yes, for a nominal fee, there will be coat check.

Will DJ Aanshul be playing?
A: Yes and so will guest DJ Elad as well and we plan to have amazing music to serve you with.

Rang Barse – Holi Hai! Holi is the festival of colors..BollyGrooves has had successful, sold out Holi events since 2008 and in 2011, we plan to go all out on Saturday March 19th at the Crocodile. In celebration of Holi festivities, we are playing Holi and colors will be provided by BollyGrooves.

Not to mention, there will also be live video mixing with screens set up of Holi Numbers, Bollywood tunes & Top 40, so you can watch and tantalize in the Holi numbers while rocking to the best Bollywood beats in town – don’t forget, top of the line sound. The Croc will also have colorful drink specials (is it Bhang, hmmm??)

This will be an all-out Holi celebration so do wear whites/casuals as there will be colors. Of course for those who don’t want to play, we will have an upstairs section that you can lounge in or dance and watch the live video mixing from above, also get access to your own bar. Whatever you choose, we offer it with this night.

FAQ for New Year's Eve at Marriott Redmond Town Center event on Friday, December 31st 2010

What Do I need to bring with me if I purchase Tickets online?
A: Your ID and your printed receipt from where you purchased tickets (Sulekha, Clubzone or bollygrooves.blogspot.com or other online websites) so we can check it against our master purchasing list.

Yes, and you must book childcare arrangements in advance by the 29th of December. We have access to very top qualified & certified babysitters. You will have to call 206.251.6377 or email groovynites@gmail.com to get details on the babysitting service – care will be available from 9 PM – 1 AM and will be at a playroom not very far from the main ballroom (children are NOT allowed in the main ball room) A security guard will be outside of the playroom as well so that only parents of the children are allowed inside. All children must be dropped off by no later than 10 PM and picked up by 1 AM.

Childcare Process
We are only accepting children who are the ages of 1- 11 (years of age).
1. Call Shylaja at 206.251.6377 and get details, she will then send you a release of liability service form (amount of children you are planning to have for babysitting needed etc). Send a deposit via paypal to groovynites@gmail.com via credit or check. Putting in your fee and filling out the form (sending it back signed via fax will guarantee your childcare/babysitter and child’s activities). We have a special playroom for children set up with chairs/tables, some blankets and pillows, play activities such as coloring books and crafts etc. and a TV with DVD player that can play children movies (we encourage you to bring a sleeping bag or any other essentials the children will need in case they fall asleep – we will not provide food for children). We encourage you to ask your friends to join in on babysitting as it will become more cost effective.

Will there be food and drinks?
Yes there will be 5 bar set-ups and there will be appetizers from 9 to 11 PM along with 2 alcohol beverages and appetizers included in your general admission ticket. Do note: the bars are cash bar and there is an ATM in the hotel and the appetizers will only be served during 9-11, cake/dessert will also be served in that time frame.

Is there parking?
A: Yes, there general parking which is Free Parking in the garage, right next to the Hotel, however if you want Valet parking that is also available at standard hotel rates.

How many people plan to attend?
A: 400-500 people will be expected. There will be plenty of room on the dance floor.

Will everyone get to sit at a table and sit down?
No due to maximizing dancing area/space, we have a limited number of tables inside and people will be able to grab tables on a first come first serve basis. However, there will be chairs set-up for people to sit down all around the room. There will be highboy tables in the front/check-in area for people to gather around and mingle. There will also be two areas for people to hang their coats as well in case they get there late and can't find a table and of course for exclusivity there is the VIP lounge.

Seattle, Wash. – On Saturday, November 27, Seattle’s BollyGrooves will bring more than a night of Bollywood music and dancing to The Crocodile. It also plans to deliver for Northwest families in need.

In support of Hope-link.org, a local organization dedicated to preventing homelessness and helping families in crisis, BollyGrooves will offer discounted admission to partygoers who bring a non-perishable food item to donate.

“Hopelink is an amazing organization that provides vital services to people in our community who may have nowhere else to turn,” said Shelly Kamran, co-owner of BollyGrooves. “We are proud to support them by hosting a dance night where people can come together to make a difference and have a great time. Programs like those that Hopelink offers are in need of our donations now more than ever.”

In fact, the number of families in need of food and services in our region continues to grow. After two consecutive years of increases, Hopelink added another 14 percent to the number of households served in its food banks last year. Nearly 60 percent of those served by Hopelink last year were children, elderly and disabled members of our community.

Last year’s BollyGrooves night in support of Hopelink raised nearly 1000 pounds of food to donate, but their goal is to beat that number this year with the help of its loyal following. The event’s admission price of $12 will be reduced to $8 for those who bring a non-perishable food item. Partygoers will also be able to make cash donations as well that will be given directly to Hopelink along with a portion of the night’s proceeds. Seattle artists DJ Aanshul and DJ Elad will be playing a mix of Bollywood hits along with Top 40 and international music throughout the night to keep the dancing going into the wee hours.

DJ Rekha performs at a famous monthly event known as Basement Bhangra at SOB's on Varick Street in New York City. Since its launch in 1997, Basement Bhangra has popularized the traditional-modern Bhangra blend, making the genre a part of the NYC club scene. This night is the night that people will schedule their trips around, because SOB’s on the first Thursday of the month is the place to get your dose of South Asian flavor by DJ Rekha.

DJ Rekha has brought South Asian music to New York. Newsweek recognized her as one of the most influential South Asians in the US, and she has received accolades from The New York Times, CNN, The Fader, The Village Voice, and The Washington Post, among others.

Her recent album, DJ Rekha Presents Basement Bhangra, is a 17 track mix CD with four exclusive tracks including two original productions from Rekha. FAQ About New Year's Eve at Marriott Redmond Town Center

1. What Do I need to bring with me if I purchase Tickets online?
A: Your ID and your printed receipt so we can check it against our master list - no substitutes will be accepted to check-in for you (unless planned at least 48 hours in advance and that only on a case by case basis). All persons must be present at the time of check-in, for example, if you have purchased 4 tickets, all 4 people must be present at the time of check-in with you - if not then we will hand the purchaser of the tickets all the passes and it is their responsibility to hand the passes over to their party if they are not present at the time of check-in.

Tickets/passes will only be handed to the person whose name is on the master list and checks in with proper ID and receipt. The purchaser will be responsible to pass them to the people in his/her party. We can not hold spots under your purchases at the door for people whose name is not on the Paypal purchase even if you have any number of people showing up later - no exceptions. The person who is on the purchase master list must be present with ID and their receipt to gain admission and/or receive passes.

2. Is there Childcare?
A: NOT DURING DAY OF EVENT. We have access to very top qualified babysitters. You will have to call 206.898.8852 to get details on the babysitting service - thus far each child will be
$20/hr.
Childcare Process
1. Go to Mayuri and fill out the release of liability & service form (amount of hours and children you are planning to have). Put in a 50% deposit for the children at Mayuri after filling out the form, that will secure your babysitter. Then you will have to rent a room from the Marriott for the child/children. Rates are
$79/night for New Year's Eve at Marriott Redmond Town Center. Please call 206.898.8852 for booking childcare. We are only accepting children who are the ages of 1- 13 (years of age).
2. Book a Room at Marriott Redmond Town Center by calling (425)498-4000 and asking for the $79/night BollyGrooves New Year's Eve Room Rate
3. BollyGrooves will provide you with a babysitter (up to 4 children per babysitter) who is CPR certfied and background checked. We enoucourage you to ask your friends to join in as it will help with the costs for you.

3. How Should I dress, what is the attire requirement?
We ask no Hats, no Jeans and no sweats. For men we ask you wear a suit/coat dress shirt slacks as this is semi-formal (not full formal so no need for ties etc.)
For women: Indian formal wear: Sari, Lengha, Salwar Kameez, American dress or nice suit pant outfit

4. Is there parking?
A: Yes, there general parking which is Free Parking in the garage, right next to the Hotel, however if you want Valet parking that is also available at standard hotel rates.

5. Will there be food and drinks?
A: Yes there will be 4 bar set-ups and there will be appetizers from 9 to 11 PM along with alcohol beverages included in your ticket price. After 11 PM, the Bar will turn into a Cash bar and there is an ATM in the hotel and the appetizers will not be served all night - only during the time of the open bar 9-11.

6. How long is the event?
A: The event will go from 9 PM to 2AM

7. Why are small children not allowed?
A: Safety & Liability with alcohol and people who will be consuming alcohol

8. Will it only Bollywood music be played all night?
A: Yes & No, we will mash-up with hip-hop/R&B, house, top 40 and at least 70% Bollywood & Desi music. However, just know that the music is at this event is the best you will get on the entire west coast for Bollywood & Mash-up.

9. Can we get a refund if we decide not to go?
A: NO, once tickets are purchased refunds are not allowed whatsoever - all purchases are final and since we sell out every year, it's very hard for us to keep track of who did not attend or will attend. Transferring of tickets will be on a case by case basis only and at least 48 hours of advance notice.

10. How much are hotel rooms at the Marriott Redmond Town Center?
79$/night for this special event. Ask for the New Year's Eve BollyGrooves Room Rate or call Marriott Redmond Town Center for exact details. Our party gets the special $79/night rate.

11. How many people plan to attend?
A: 600-700 people will be expected. There will be plenty of room on the dance floor.

12. Will everyone get to sit at a table and sit down?
No due to maximizing dancing area/space, we have limited tables inside and people will be able to grab tables on a first come first serve basis. However, there will be chairs set-up for people to sit down all around the room. There will be highboy tables in the front/check-in area for people to gather around and mingle. There will also be two areas for people to hang their coats as well in case they get there late and can't find a table.

13. Will DJ Aanshul be playing?
A: Yes and so will guest DJ Elad as well!

14. Is there a group discount?
A: Yes for $60 and above tickets, for a group of 12 or more we can do 5% discount

Thank you for another sold out successful Halloween night - we are ready to do help more causes and do some very cool things. One of them being the holidays and when it gets cold. We would like each person to bring at least 1 non-perishable food item with them - this will get you the $10 discount rate all night, but also it will help to feed those who are in need.

Dance the night away to some awesome Bollywood & Global tunes, but also help feed some of the less fortunate this holiday season!
