Ben is 66 and has done several B-wood films in his career. In fact, he had won Oscar for ‘Gandhi’ that is again a film based on Indian history.

In a recent interview the actor said that he loves the Indian style of film making. He said, “Indian films have a big audience across the globe. The Indians living in any part of the world prefer watching the Hindi films more than the Western ones. They say that they can watch them with the family.”

Further he disclosed his desire to make a film in India. “I have worked in many Hindi films but now I want to make one myself. I would love to direct it myself and do a major role in it as well. That would be most satisfying for me. Though, it would not be one from the mainstream.” He said he has already started working towards his project.

Another essential disclosure that he made was that the female directors from India have a classic style of working. “While working with Leena Yadav in ‘Teen Patti’ I have realized that women have their own unique take on any story that is quite impressive. Now I am keen to work with Nandita Das as well.” For Nandita he also said that he wished to work with her as an actor, besides the director.

He also could not stop himself from mentioning Mira Nair. “Mira has her own league of followers and audiences in various parts of the world. Her work seems to be good.”

This seems to be yet another milestone for the Indian film industry touching the international platform!

Right from the time of Raj Kapoor, Indian film stars have had a huge fan following across the globe, not only among the natives but all the nationalities of the world. But then it was only restricted to shooting and releasing flicks in order to exchange business. In the past few years a lot of film makers from abroad have stepped ahead and made films along with members of B-wood. Continuing the tradition would a forthcoming release ‘American Empire.’

This film is a joint venture from the makers who are partially from H-wood and partially from India. The film is expected to a gangster action thriller that would star Arjun Rampal, John Abraham, Ashmit Patel and Freida Pinto. The four would share screen space with stunt director Andy Armstrong, Nina Dobrev, Emmanuelle Vaugier and Jesse Metcalfe.

Meanwhile, there is another report that John has put all his projects on hold as he is off to South Africa to watch the Football World Cup.

About Arjun, he recently had a severe back injury due to which there was news that he might be replaced by Viveik Oberoi in SRK’s sci-fi home production ‘Ra.1.’ Now he is okay and so he had retained his role in the film.

Another star child is all set to enter the tinsel town with his film ‘Sadiyaan.’ It is junior Shotgun, Luv Sinha. Unlike the raw rural feel of his father Shatrughan Sinha, he looks more like a chocolate boy, perfect stuff for romantic films.

His debut venture is indeed a romantic story that also stars surprises like Hema Malini and the ravishing Rekha along with Rishi Kapoor. Rekha is always spotted glittering is her golden sarees and intriguing red lips in almost all the award ceremonies and other B-wood events.

Just a few days back she was awarded the Lifetime Achievement trophy and in her award winning speech she had mentioned about the beginning of her second innings.

Directed by Raj Kanwar, this seems to be a fabulous launching pad in cinedom for Luv!

His upcoming home production is termed ‘Ra.1.’

The reports are that this film would be a sci-fi where SRK plays a super hero and the nemesis are handed over to his new found friend Arjun Rampal. The inside bird also tweets that Kareena Kapoor would be the female lead in the film.

Arjun and SRK have earlier faced each other on camera in films like ‘Don’ and ‘Om Shanti Om.’ Their friendship also became prominent with the fact that SRK did a pleasing guest appearance a few years back in Arjun’s home production ‘I See You.’

Coming to the super hero and SRK connection, earlier King Khan had dubbed for the Hindi version of the Walt Disney film ‘The Incredibles’ that was named in Hindi as ‘Hum Hain Lajawab.’ There he had lent his voice to the superhero of the film.

The film is set to go on floor very soon!

Now she is planning a comeback in the industry with some strong author-backed roles.

The 35 year old actress was recently spotted in the capital at the Good Housekeeping Show. There she promptly told the press that she has signed two ‘very challenging’ films.

One is a bilingual film, made in Hindi and Bengali that portrays Raveena as an uneducated Sikh woman who is married to a Bengali scientist. The untimely death of her husband puts her in to trouble. The story is about how this uneducated woman seeks education and manages to uplift the laboratory of her husband, fighting all the cultural biases and other social issues. The film is rightly named ‘The Laboratory.’ She also boasts that the story of this film is a pick from Nobel Prize winner, Rabindranath Tagore’s collection. It is directed by Raja Sen, a director who has won several National Awards.

Likewise, the other flick that she has signed is also a woman oriented story based on the evil traditions followed till date in Rajasthan. This film is yet not titled.

We have earlier seen Raveena doing non-glamorous strong roles in films like ‘Shool’ and ‘Satta.’

Kajol’s comeback after marriage and kids has been a success but it did not work for dancing diva Madhuri Dixit. Now let’s see if things turn out to be positive for Raveena. We can only wish her good luck!

The Indian film industry has all the reasons to hold their heads high up as the list has 5 Indian names – Guru Dutt, Meena Kumari, Nargis, Pran and the living legend Amitabh Bachchan.

The list also includes 3 Chinese and 2 Pakistanis.

The channel explains, Meena Kumari was the tragedy queen and Guru Dutt had won a million hearts with his intense performances.

Amitabh Bachchan is most loved for his angry, young man image and deep and soulful baritone.

Filmfare are the oldest and yet the most authentic awards of the Indian film industry, but today many other awards have been introduced. They may not be giving a fierce competition to Filmfare, but they have set their ground well.

Now to survive the competition, even Filmfare has started cooking up some drama in order to gain popularity. One of the dramas that was apparently created this year was a tiff between Niel Nitin Mukesh and SRK.

Actually, while hosting the award night Shah Rukh commented on Niel’s surname and said: “You have three titles but no surname, why?”

It was preplanned that Neil would react too angrily to the comment. He got on stage and told Shah Rukh to watch his words as he was commenting on the family and his father was right there in the audiences. Then he also told SRK to ‘Shut up!’

The plan was that in the end Niel would throw eggs on the two hosts but he rather got on the stage and broke those eggs on their head.

As far fetched as this all may sound, this was a plan made by SRK. This drama created quite a panic in the crowd and as per Niel he was very uncomfortable and scared doing all this.

This reminds me of Ashutosh Gowarikar having a fight with Sajid Khan in Filmfare. Wonder whether that too was planned!?

It has become the longest running film of the world. For the last 15 years it is being played at the Maratha Mandir in Mumbai and till date has managed to woo the audience.

As we now see the magical couple of K Jo and Shah Rukh successfully make a comeback in their latest release ‘My Name Is Khan,’ the two seem to have mesmerized the viewers a lot more than it appears. DDLJ is a timeless love story, directed by Aditya Chopra. Like old wine, it just keeps getting better with time.

DDLJ is a family entertainer that was praised across the globe and has won innumerable awards. The accolades seem to have no end of this classic B-wood flick!

Way to go DDLJ!

One of its songs that is being popularized through promos and television advertisements is the title track. It is good for a one-time listen, but nothing great that can be hummed later on.

Most of the songs are just situational that sound good in the movie due to the story’s comic value, but they are not at all appealing to music lovers in particular. Composed by Pritam, ‘Aaja aaja’ is a messy number. It was supposed to be a foot tapping marketable number but fails to create the magic that Pritam always does. Likewise, its remix also is a thanda flavor.

‘Suhani Raat Dhal Chuki’ is meant to be funny and spoofy and that it is. But you would not like to play it while alone or even with friends. Its fun part ends with the movie.

A holy version of the dancing number ‘Beedi jalaile,’ that is ‘Jyoti jalaile’ is a little attractive that one might enjoy listening to for the first time. Devoted to Goddess Durga, this version of the dance number is also sung by the original singer, that is, Sukhwinder Singh.

Those who like to buy devotional music might like to have ‘Dohay’ composed and sung by Amit Mishra for keeps. Likewise, another prayer devoted to Lord Ganesha, ‘Sukh Karta’ may also interest some listeners.

All in all, this movie might have scored above average, but the songs failed to make any particular impact.
