John bitten by fan!

noreply@blogger.com (Handicrafts) — Tue, 14 Feb 2012 23:23:00 -0800

It looks like John Abraham is paying a high price for his popularity among women. He is getting mauled and assaulted by his female fans of late. Perhaps his new ‘officially’ single status has something to do with it.

Recently, at an event, a female fan bit his finger! Poor John tried to be polite about it but this time it hurt him bad. Incidentally, this isn’t the first time he has been assaulted this violently. Earlier in Jaipur he visited an ATM to withdraw some cash. But word spread that the hunk was in the area and soon there was a mad scramble among his hysterical female fans to meet, greet and touch him. The result was that he emerged with a totally scratched body after the ordeal. John should perhaps consider having an armour in public considering he also had his butt pinched in Toronto some years ago.

King Khan is doing all that is possible to make his ambitious project Ra.One a massive hit. With huge promotion campaigns, posters, TV shows and many more he is not leaving a single stone unturned for the success of Ra.One. He is now turning to toys and comics to create hype about the character G One that he is playing in Ra.One. Recently he even launched a model of his character targeting the kids. Not only toys but also a complete range of utility items under the theme of Ra.One are to be released like comics, back to school items, water bottles, Frisbees, apparels, caps, and many more. promoting Ra.One

Besides that the looks of the lead roles in the movie were kept under wraps which has been creating much more hype for the movie. Shah rukh had been very insistent to keep Arjun Rampal’s look completely under wraps and for this he even went to the extent of not allowing cell phones inside the sets of Ra.One. Well nobody has to teach King Khan How to create publicity for a movie. He has been in the industry for quite some time and is quite aware that as the expectation rise so will the probability of the success of the movie.

The grand launch of the music of Ra.One has done its quotient of marketing. The peppy dance score “Chamak Chalo” has been topping the charts from the time of its release till date. Thanks to the widespread publicity in various media that was well planned by SRK. Let’s wait and watch what else is in store from SRK as the movie is expected to be a Diwali release.

Shah Rukh Khan extremely worried

noreply@blogger.com (Handicrafts) — Mon, 26 Sep 2011 04:03:00 -0700

The King Khan, Shah Rukh Khan is keeping no stone unturned to promote his much awaited flick RA.One. He is been interacting with media for three consecutive days. His latest offering has been a truly unique one.

Apparently, Hot Bollywood celebrity Shah Rukh Khan has joined hands with You Tube. Shah Rukh Khan today launched a custom built movie channel on the world’s leading online video platform You Tube for his upcoming superhero film RA.One.

SRK who has been promoting RA.One aggressively, says, “Not all my films are promoted the same way. Chak De India was promoted in a low scale considering the story of the film. This is a superhero film and any sci-fi which has to be marketed aggressively. So the platform is very important.”

It’s heard that SRK has been having sleepless nights ever since the film was made. He replies, “If the tickets of the film are sold in advance then I will have a sound sleep.”

When asked if he is scared of failure, he replies, “Acting is my profession. This is what I do for my living. So I am not scared. If I am scared I would never act, never produce. I am tensed though because people should like the film. But there is no fear. I was born to do that. I am just worried a bit.”

Emraan much more than Bollywood's serial kisser: Dibakar

noreply@blogger.com (Handicrafts) — Fri, 2 Sep 2011 05:08:00 -0700

Filmmaker Dibakar Banerjee doesn't guarantee an image change for Emraan Hashmi with his political thriller 'Shanghai' but says the film will bring out the 'true acting capability' of the actor who is otherwise tagged as a 'serial kisser'.

'I don't know if 'Shanghai' will bring in an image change for Emraan as such. But I am sure the audience will sit up and notice his true acting capability. Of course, he has acted well all through, but the focus has always been on his kissing. 'Shanghai' will be different for him,' Banerjee told IANS over phone from Mumbai.

So far, Emraan has locked lips in films like 'Murder', 'Zeher', 'Aksar', 'Gangster - A Love Story' and 'Crook'. But he confessed a few months ago that he is quite irritated with the 'serial kisser' tag.

'Emraan is so much more than just a serial kisser. He is a very nuanced and first class actor. He can be very funny in a natural way, which has worked for his role in 'Shanghai'. He carried his role very well. I am sure that more than being irritated, he is bored of being called a serial kisser! He is quite a professional,' said Dibakar.

'Shanghai' is an adaptation of Greek diplomat and author Vassilis Vassilikos' book 'Z'.

Salman Khan's Bodyguard In Trouble

noreply@blogger.com (Handicrafts) — Tue, 30 Aug 2011 05:16:00 -0700

Unfortunately Salman Khan-Kareena Kapoor starrer Movie “Bodyguard" have not exactly seen the kind of start that Salman and producer Atul Agnihotri had imagined.

A source tells us, "Everywhere in the country, at all the multiplexes, advances have been put on hold. Reliance is trying to push through a multi-film deal. They are saying that you also ensure release for our forthcoming English films, and are asking for new terms. It is only then that they will they give "Bodyguard" for release to the multiplexes. This is in breach of the agreement that was done between MAI and the Producers Guild a fortnight ago for terms for Hindi movies. Even though the agreement was done verbally at that time, everyone had agreed to the new terms and that agreement is being worked out now. But the distributors for "Bodyguard" are suggesting their own deal now."

And the buzz in trade circles is that Bollywood celebrity Salman and Atul are both unhappy with the development since they were expecting advances to open on Sunday. Adds the source, "Even though Salman is traditionally thought of as a single screen hero, the truth is that no one can ignore multiplexes, especially after the business that they had generated for "Dabangg"." Producer Atul Agnihotri said, "I'm only concerned with the promotions and not distribution. You should ask the distributors about this. I have got reports about advance opening at places like Delite from Delhi. And negotiations always happen between the two parties. I don't have any more info on this." However, the news is that Mukesh Bhatt is mediating between the distributor and the exhibitors for the movie to release without any hassels.

I don't follow anyone in Bollywood: Ankit Mohan

noreply@blogger.com (Handicrafts) — Thu, 11 Aug 2011 02:50:00 -0700

Delhi boy Ankit Mohan has no godfather in Bollywood; neither does he believe in having a role model. Set to make his debut with Pankaj Kapoor's 'Mausam', he is confident and fears no competition.

'I don't follow anyone in Bollywood as my dad always says that if you want to live, live to leave a lasting impression,' Ankit told IANS over phone from Mumbai.

'If I try and copy someone, I will lose myself. The acting talent of many actors like Hrithik Roshan, Pankaj Kapoor and Amitabh Bachchan gives me a boost, but that's about it,' he added.

The 24-year-old, born and brought up in Chandni Chowk, left his family business of corporate gifts and shifted to Mumbai two years ago to pursue an acting career.

'I had no contacts. So I had my share of struggle. I started meeting people and got to know that Pankaj sir was looking for a new face to play a part in 'Mausam'. I auditioned for it along with 1,000 other boys and,

luckily, I got selected,' he said.

Before bagging a role in 'Mausam', Ankit was seen in reality show 'MTV Roadies 4'. 'Mausam' has Pankaj's son Shahid Kapoor in the lead role and Sonam Kapoor plays his lady love. The film also features Anupam Kher, Supriya Pathak and Aditi Sharma.

'I'm playing an air force officer, Ashfaq Hussain, a good friend of Shahid in the movie,' Ankit said. The young actor said he was honoured to work with Pankaj Kapoor.

'I felt great working with legend Pankaj sir. I think he is the godfather of acting. After meeting him, I felt that he is the most noble and grounded person on earth,' he said.

'He himself struggled a lot in his life and this can be easily seen in the way he talks and behaves,' Ankit added. Bollywood has seen a plethora of debut actors this year like Kartikeya Tiwari in 'Pyar ka Panchnama' and Ali Fazal and Zoa Morani in 'Always Kabhi Kabhi', but Ankit is not afraid.

Salman Khan is keeping no stone unturned to establish his sister Alvira and brother-in-law Atul Agnihotri's career as producers with the project Bodyguard. But thanks to his extra-critical nature and also the fact that the actor has failed to report on the sets on time more often than not the film is still far from complete. The fact that Bodyguard has been scheduled for an Eid release later this month has made producer Atul sit up and work out a unique idea to motivate his lead actor to finish the film on time.

Atul Agnihotri has started wearing a T-shirt to the sets of the film that says 'Bodyguard releasing this Eid'. He has also asked the crew members to follow his example.

A source revealed, "Salman has always taken his own sweet time to come on the sets of his films. However, for Bodyguard Salman has gone out of his way to finish it on time. Even though when he had to promote his production Chillar Party, he took time out to come back to Mumbai and shoot for the film. But it was a difficult film to shoot and thus certain portions are still remaining to be completed."

In fact, the ploy seems to have worked. "Salman shot the film in double shifts. He even worked at 14-16 hour stretches to finish the film," said the source. In fact, Salman stayed back in the house created in Filmcity as part of the sets in order not to waste time travelling from his Bandra residence to the studio every day. Atul's idea seems to have worked really well.

When contacted, Atul Agnihotri, said, "We have made various T-Shirts as merchandise for Ganpati and Eid festivals and nothing else."

Sameera Reddy Injured While Shooting With Madhavan

noreply@blogger.com (Handicrafts) — Thu, 11 Aug 2011 01:26:00 -0700

Actress Sameera Reddy hurt herself during the shooting of a song in her forthcoming film, ‘Vettai’. She had to be rushed to the hospital immediately to take first-aid help. She attained several injuries due to this accident.

It so happened that a particular sequence involved both Sameera Reddy and Amala Paul riding on their respective mopeds, both clad in paavadai-dhavani. Even as she shoot was taking place, Sameera Reddy’s moped tripped and fell on the road. Sameera Reddy fell to the ground and suffered injuries on her hands and legs. This is when she was rushed to the hospital after which she returned back to the shoot after few hours of rest.

‘Vettai’ would be Lingusamy’s first directorial venture after the mega-hit Karthi-Tamanna starrer ‘Paiyaa’ which released last year. This film is also special for the director because it marks actor Madhavan’s return in his direction, after the action pack film ‘Run’. ‘Vettai’ has Aarya & Amala Paul along with Madhavan and Sameera Reddy. Sameera is also starring simultaneously in Prabhu deva’s ‘Vedi’ opposite Vishal.
