True Friendships Are Special Gifts That Last Lifetimes

"Savor your friendships as you grow old; many are silver, but one is pure gold."

This is sage advice for those who have been fortunate enough to find that one true friendship. Or perhaps you have maintained friendships from your days in elementary school. Whatever the case, friends are previous gifts we give to ourselves.

As children, friendships are vitally important, most notably as it relates to the socialization process. Meeting a new friend the first day of school is essential, especially if one is particularly shy. Perhaps another girl would sense the shyness and offer a hand in friendship. Forming friendships with others from different cultures enhances a child's early experiences as well, and plants a seed that is healthy and which can be nurtured throughout life. But, preserving friendships are often difficult, even under the best of circumstances. Whether a friend moves away; or leaves school; or becomes ill, it is especially hard on a child. They are resilient, however, and somehow cope with the loss.

As the child becomes a teen, the word friendship takes on a different connotation. While some teens exhibit the closeness and bonding prevalent during their parents' day; others are not so conducive to this type of friendship. Instead, they form gangs which they refer to as their family, and commit acts which were unheard of twenty or thirty years ago. It makes one wonder if this type of friendship is born out of a home where caring and nurturing is non-existent. Or has peer pressure to act and dress a certain way erased all that was taught in the early years of their childhood. Girls become vicious to each other; more so than boys, and it's inconceivable that a meaningful true friendship exists in that environment.

Perhaps as we grow older, the child in us returns to the very first day we attended school.
We appreciate and value the friends we've made in our adult life because they ground us; keep us balanced; watch out for us; protect us; care and help us when needed. True friendships require no expectations; they are unconditional by nature, and bring out the very best of who we are. We rely on each other for comfort; rant and rave knowing our friend will simply listen; discuss issues which we are passionate about, knowing we will be understood. Laugh together; cry together; then eat ice cream while laughing all the more. How rare is that kind of friendship? How blessed are we to have a true friend who will allow us to be who we are, without judgment. Yes, very rare indeed.

As we reach our golden years, our friends may have passed on, but the memories are still intact. We take out the old scrapbook and reminisce as we thumb through familiar pictures. Suddenly, we laugh and look to one side saying, "Remember " then stop. A single tear falls down our cheek. We look up and smile because the years have not taken away the recollections of our youthful days, nor has the light of true friendship been extinguished.

The train is approaching the station, you can hear the whistle blow as it is winds around the corner into view. There is a gentle rumbling beneath your feet as it slows down to align with the boarding platform. You glance down at the ticket in your hand and notice that the present station reads, “Been There, Done That”. As you turn the ticket over the new destination reads, “My Life’s True Happiness”. While you sit and ponder the possibilities of where this might take you, the conductor calls out, “All aboard, last call!”.

The date of 11-11-11 is one of the most powerful shifts in human awareness that we will experience in our lifetime. It is a rare opportunity to release lifetimes of karmic scripting and ancestral entrapment. Entrapment in the sense of the conscious and unconscious habit patterns which have us wondering why we can’t seem to actualize the life we really want to have, and know is possible. 11-11-11 is the cosmic birth date of humanities prayer for liberation from the rote, mundane, and monotonous. Many people are presently feeling, “I can’t go on like this anymore, I just can’t live like this another day.” While we long for that which is original and exciting, we may feel burdened by the fear of not knowing the consequences of the changes we desire. So many stay trapped in the generational karma of, “Well, my father was a cobbler, so I guess I’ll always be one too.” Or, “My mother did what she was told, so I better play it safe too.”

You don’t need to imagine there is a burning hell in some other dimension, because both these situations can feel like a living hell over time.

The problem can never be solved at the level of the problem. A higher frequency needs to be introduced in order to shift what Yogi Bhajan calls the ”flow of the psyche”. At the “Miracle of the Healing Hands” course in New Mexico he further stated, “All healing comes from the ability to shift the flow of the psyche”. How will we do this? The fantastic news is, it’s much simpler than you might imagine. Eleven is the sound current of Infinity, and sound is one of the most powerful ways we can heal ourselves. Mantras contain a frequency of sound which is a healing force that is available to us all. When we join together with others to chant, mediate, and pray, the energy is mega-amplified beyond what can be generated on our own.

This buoyancy of sound is how we can heal ourselves and break free of the karmic chains of the past. Let’s say you are in a boat that has been stuck out in the ocean at a lonely location, and you feel as though you can’t stand another day lost at sea. So you try to pull up the anchor, but it’s been embedded and stuck at the bottom of the ocean for so long your strength alone is not enough to dislodge it. If you could only get a few people to help you it would be quite easy to pull up the anchor. Shift yourself to a space where there are other’s creating the same frequency of sound which will act as a lever to free yourself from the karmic entrapment. One of the most powerful mantras in the science ofKundalini Yoga is “Ek Ong Kar Sat Gur Prasad, Sat Gur Prasad Ek Ong Kar”. It is considered the “magic mantra” because it can shift the flow of the psyche so powerfully that new opportunities seem to materialize out of nowhere. Chanting this mantra for just 11 minutes a day from now until 11-11-11 will allow you to catch a new wave of energy which will liberate you from the chains of the past.

11.11.11 11.11.11, auspicious or doomsday?

At 11.11.11 on 11.11.11, the time and date will be a perfect same-numbered palindrome, reading the same backwards as forwards, an event which can only happen on one day every 100 years, the Daily Mail reported.

While some consider it as the perfect day for a wedding, some "prophecy" web forums claimed it could also be the end of the world.

The reason the date is so unusual is that 11.11.11 is the only double-figure palindromic date, since there is no 22nd month.

And the last time it happened, on November 11 1911, an almost supernatural event saw temperatures drop by more than 60F in a single day.

This was the Great Blue Norther, a cold snap which hit the U.S. causing blizzards and tornadoes as well as record falls in temperature.

In Kansas City, it was as warm as 76F (24C) in the morning - but this had dropped to 11F (-12C) by the end of the day.

A new film being released on Friday, entitled simply 11-11-11, predicts that the day will see the opening of a portal in to Hell, and says: "On this day, innocent blood will spill."

The film by Darren Bousman, director of several entries in the Saw franchise, features a man whose family dies in a car crash at 11.11am, and who then begins to be haunted by the number 11.

It plays on beliefs long held by some spiritualists, who say that the number has a special significance and claim that many people have a mystical attraction to the time 11.11.

One group believes that 11.11 is the special symbol of the "Spirit Guardians", a group of 1,111 celestial beings who supposedly look after mortals and manifest themselves in mid-morning.

However, most of those who have chosen this Friday as a day to get married are more attracted by the pleasing coincidence than by any deeper significance.

The small town of Gretna Green, a traditional wedding venue near the border between Scotlandand England, will host at least 50 weddings on 11.11.11, compared to fewer than a dozen on a typical November Friday.

Wedding mania will be even more pronounced overseas, such as in India where thousands of couples have judged the date to be auspicious for a successful marriage.

The day will also be one of celebration for a number of children who will be turning 11 on 11.11.11.

Most famously, the 11th of November is Armistice Day in the UK - Veterans Day in the U.S. - when we celebrate the end of World War I and commemorate the victims of that war and subsequent ones.

Shahrukh Khan is leaving no stone unturned to make his highly ambitious project, ‘Ra.One’ the biggest venture in Bollywood. He has not only roped in international technicians and singer Akon but according to the latest buzz, the makers are trying to rope in Lady Gaga for the premiere of the show.

Recently SRK’s production house Red Chillies Entertainment tweeted, “Breaking News: Lady Gaga may attend Ra.One premiere!”

Few days back, Shahrukh Khan had admitted that he was eager to collaborate with the pop star. “I have been chatting up with her (Lady Gaga) over a song that I want to do with her and once her manager had said ‘Lady Gaga wants to introduce her audience to you and she wants to be introduced to your audience’. So one understands she believes in pure, simple wonderful business”.

In Simi Garewals’s chat show ‘India’s Most Desirable’, filmmaker Karan Johar admits that he is single and has never fall in love with anyone. Karan admits that he is worried about commitment to any girl and has never been in a relationship. Ample of rumors does the rounds about his sexual orientation. In Simi Garewals’ show, India’s most eligible bachelor clears the air.

Commenting about his sexual orientation, Karan Johar said, “It doesn't bother me when people talk about my bisexual orientation. Obviously if I am 39 and single people will question me. Why should I say I am not gay or I am not bisexual or trisexual?”

Kangana Ranaut has lately been boasting about how she has been approached to represent Paris Hilton’s fashion accessory line in India. It turns out that it was an empty boast.

We agree that Kangana has been evolving into more of a fashionista lately, leaving behind the image of a girl interrupted she got after playing a slew of disturbed characters in films. And it’s no surprise that many fell for Kangana’s claim about being chosen as the brand ambassador for the renowned socialite and fashionista Paris Hilton’s Indian line of fashion accessories.

However, Pragya Narang from an event management company that’s looking after the brand’s India launch rubbishes Kangana’s claim.

“Paris Hilton Fashions officially denies approaching Kangna, who claims that she is all set to be the face of the fashion line. Paris is a global mega-star and doesn't need anyone to be the face of her fashion line, anywhere in the world,” Narang is quoted as saying.

We’re just waiting to see what response Kangana has for Narang’s -- rather Hilton’s -- snub.

The wizard boy Daniel Radcliffe in a supernatural thriller.

Looks like Daniel Radcliffe does not like sweet, simple stories and rom-coms! After playing a wizard boy in the Harry Potterseries, Daniel will now be seen in a supernatural thriller The Woman In Black.

“During afternoon tea, there’s a shift in the air. A bone-trembling chill that tells you she’s there… There are those who believe the whole town is cursed. But the house in the marsh is by far the worst…. What she wants is unknown, but she always comes back; the specter of darkness, the Woman in Black.” This poem is the narration of the trailer by a small girl child. And oh boy! Isn’t it chilling?

Scary Dolls and evil toys have always frightened us as kids and it is an accepted fact that even now, being adults, we are not fans of these scary toys! The trailer of The Woman in Black shows them in plenty!

The story of the supernatural thriller revolves around a young lawyer Arthur Kipps (Daniel Radcliffe) who travels to a remote village to organize a recently deceased client’s papers; however, he discovers the ghost of a woman set on vengeance, and she is always dressed in black.

The glimpse of ghostly presence in the house where Daniel Radcliffe probably stays, and the blood writings on the wall, give you goose bumps! The background score of the trailer, too, does its purpose of chipping in the thrills! Btw, it’s a welcome change to watch Daniel in a mature character in his first post-Harry Potter role! His side locks suit him!

Well, it seems that the queen of controversies, Rakhi Sawant is devoid of any offers these days. So, in order to make her presence felt, she has created ripples once again by expressing her weird desire to marry Yoga guru Baba Ramdev.

This adds to her list of controversies which range from her controversial stay in ‘Big Boss’, her walking out of ‘Nach Baliye’ in a huff, her infamous romance, breakup and then patchup with Abhishek Avasthi, her kiss with Mika Singh, her fake promises on ‘Rakhi Ka Swayamvar’ and last but not the least the very controversial blunders she made during ‘Rakhi Ka Insaaf’.

Rakhi experessed this desire when she was addressing media persons on the sidelines of a promotional event in New Delhi. She also said that she had great admiration for Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi and admitted that Ramdev’s yoga sessions have made an impact on her life.

Neha Dhupia is all in news for her role as Eva Barun in Rakesh Ranjan Kumar directed GANDHI TO HITLER. Neha’s character holds ample importance in the flick as she is the only woman who was closest to Hitler, especially in the days leading to his downfall after being plagued by betrayal.

An all elated and excited Neha speaks about her role and says, “It did break my heart when the movie was over. I was extremely involved in the way I portrayed Eva on screen. She was someone who was quite flamboyant with Hitler’s soldiers and was forever in a happy and positive mood. For me to put her to rest was something really difficult. That’s because behind that exterior of being intrinsically happy and charming, there was certain sadness and romanticism which she kept for themselves. After I was through shooting for the film, I could see myself turning mellower than ever.”

Neha admits that she had to do a lot of research work for her role. “When I went through the script, I was conscious about the fact that I was Neha, an actress while here she was a German lady, a close confidante of Hitler. It isn’t easy to step into the shoes of such historical personality. I had to go through history, pick up whatever images or footage that were available of her and try to get an idea of what she must have been in real life. I had to work hard as an actress and make my own version of the series of incidents that would have taken place then. I tried to bring myself as closer as possible to Eva before it actually started making sense. Now the final verdict is with the audience,” she says.

Neha has completed the shoot for the film which also stars Aman Verma and is slated to release all over today.

First look of Kristen Stewart in 'Snow White and the Huntsman'

Kristen Stewart’s look in the movie Snow White and the Huntsman was recently revealed and we can easily vouch that it definitely contradicts with the Snow White fairy tales we heard in our childhood days!

In the posters released, Kristen Stewart is a fighter Snow White and dons armour and wields a sword! Directed by Rupert Sanders, Snow White and the Huntsman has been dealt with a unique approach, and thus Kristen does not appear as the usual ‘Snow Whites’ we have seen in the past!

Snow White and the Huntsman has a twist in the original fairytale, wherein the huntsman ordered to kill Snow White ends up training her and mentoring her, in an attempt to fight and defeat the evil queen.

Interestingly, Kristen Stewart’s Snow White avatar contradicts Lily Collins’ Snow White look for her currently-untitled Snow White project. While Lily Collins looks the usual cute and well-dressed Snow White in her shiny locks and brightly coloured princess gown, Kristen seems to be the warrior princess and depicts the darker side of Snow White.

Snow White and the Huntsman also stars Chris Hemsworth (the huntsman), Sam Claflin (the prince) and Charlize Theron (the evil queen); however, it is Kristen Stewart’s look that comes as a surprise package!

Now this news might bring a smile on the face of many future brides!Kristen Stewart’s very famous Twilight character Bella Swan’s wedding dress will be replicated and sold, as soon as The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1 is released.

The designer of the dream wedding gown, Alfred Angelo, has teamed up with Disney on a range of Princess Gowns. Though the cost of the wedding gown is not known yet, reports are suggesting that it could cost anything between £300 to an enormous £3000! The gown will be available in Angelo’s Signature stores and many other clothing lines across the world, in November.

We still remember how we came across the most minuscule of glimpse of Kristen Stewart’s bridal gown in the trailer of The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1. The enticing teaser showed the bride-to-be walking down the aisle, as Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson) waits for her at the altar.

Well, it looks like we have to wait till November for both - catching a proper glance at Kristen Stewart’s wedding dress and, buying it too!

BELLA AND EDWARD’S LOVE CULMINATES IN MARRIAGE

Millions of Twilight fans were waiting for this. Bella Swan finally marries her vampire hero Edward Cullen while Jacob nurses a broken heart. As the book ‘Breaking Dawn’ is divided in three parts, the makers of Twilight series are coming up with two movies, The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1 and Part 2.

So what can the fans expect from the film The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawnwhich again brings the teen sensation Kristen Stewart together with the handsome heartthrob Robert Pattinson? Since ‘Breaking Dawn’ is touted to be the craziest installment of Stephenie Meyer’s young adult novel series Twilight, the fans will see their favourite Bella Swan romancing Edward Cullen in an island near Brazil as the book also has a vivid description of their racy Brazilian honeymoon after their low-key marriage.

And what about the terrifying child-birth experience of Bella? Producer Wyck Godfrey talked about the truly horrifying birth sequence, and how director Bill Condon plans to pull it off and still get a PG-13 rating for the film: “With Twilight's core of under-18 fans, it would be a crime against our audience to go R-rated…Having the bloody, bone-crushing delivery be seen only through Bella’s eyes. She is looking through the haze, experiencing pain and everything rushing around her. We only see what she sees.”

The book Breaking Dawn received rave reviews because it’s the most matured of all the installments. It has love, sex, a terrifying climax, and the picture gets bigger with the threat of a vampire massacre towards the end of the story.

Now this is nothing less than a delicacy for all the Twilight fans who are waiting for the release of The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1. An image of Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart) just before getting married to Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson) was released online a few hours ago.

The image captures three diverse kinds of emotions. To start with, we see an uncomfortable Charlie (Bella’s father), who is standing in his black tuxedo, holding a blue box. Does that blue box enclose the wedding ring? Anyhow, Bella’s mother Renee epitomizes a tender mother of the bride-to-be in her purple outfit. However, it is Bella’s smiling face which arrests your eyes! Though Bella’s parents’ marriage wasn’t a success, it is clear from the image that they hope for their daughters’ marriage to work out!

And after watching this image, we just cannot wait to actually witness the wedding on the 18th of November, the date when The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1 hits the theatres!

By the way, in the image released, one also sees the makeup material lying open in front of Kristen Stewart. However, gazing at how gorgeous she is looking, does she really need any makeup?

Jacqueline In and Chitrangada Out from ‘Krissh 2′

Her bold and hot avatar in ‘Murder 2’ has made Jacqueline Fernandez a hot property in the tinsel town and has made her way into the ambitious project ‘Krissh 2’ by Rakesh Roshan.

The industry is abuzz with the news that both Hrithik and Rakesh Roshan met the beauty and the three had a lengthy discussion over the movie which probably lasted for nearly three hours.

Earlier Chitrangada Singh was being considered for the female lead but as the film was delayed from October to December, she is said to have opted out of the project. Reports also say that Singh left the project because she felt that the film had nothing much to offer to the actress and the role was almost like a cameo.

Whatever be the reason, one thing is for sure that Jacqueline has replaced Chitrangada in ‘Krissh 2’ though the final announcement is yet to be made.

Well, they say marriages are made in heaven; and after watching this poster, you can’t deny the statement! Bella and Edward look steaming together! The way Edward has held Bella and is watching her, the manner in which Bella has placed her hand near Edward’s heart, ignites nothing but sheer feeling of love!

The couple from The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1 looks angelic! However, we are not too sure if angelic is a great word to use here, keeping in mind that Edward is a vampire and Bella is...err…well… you know (That’s what we call as a spoiler free description)!!

When it comes to gaining eyeballs, actors leave no stones unturned in tapping any controversy in the country. The latest starlet to find an unconventional method to show her patriotism using the most conventional method of nudity in trying to gain publicity is the Marathi actress Yogita Dandekar.

The actress has gone topless and has had her upper body painted in Tri color. Wearing a Gandhi ‘topi’ like Hazare she has tried to express her support for Anna Hazare in his fight against corruption. Yogita even inked ‘Anna’ with white on her back.

Yogita Dandekar says that she has proved herself and is not like Poonam Pandey or others who just claim to go nude and then come up with lame excuses. She claims to be a true Indian by heart and has supported Anna Hazare for the last ten years. Yogita says she can even dance naked if Jan Lokpal Bill is passed in the parliament.

Bollywood model and item girl Yasmin Khan and super-hot ramp model Natasha Sikka almost got out of control while shooting for a lesbian themed photoshoot in Mumbai recently.

The shoot was held at a studio in Goregaon, Mumbai, on August 30. It had both Yasmin and Natasha stripping down to bikinis and indulging in some steamy girl-on-girl action.

In fact, some of the images are so explicit that they can’t be published for public viewing.

Reports say that the photoshoot was done to promote lesbian marriage in India.

Poonam Pandey is on a roll. The bombshell has come out with another “motivational surprise” for the beleaguered Indian cricket team.

Poonam, who promised to go nude for team India during the Cricket World Cup, looks on her way to fulfil the promise, a little late though. Just a day back, she posted an image of hers in a bikini on Twitter to motivate the men in blue who have been skunked by the English cricket team on their tour of England.

HOT VIDYA BALAN IN RED SARI FROM ‘THE DIRTY PICTURE’

Video : A titillating teaser of The Dirty Picture, featuring Vidya Balan and Tusshar Kapoor has been released by T-Series.

If you are still recovering from the shock of watching the eye-popping first poster ofThe Dirty Picture, here’s the first teaser to whet your curiosity about the film that’s based on the life of the south siren Silk Smitha.

The 13-second teaser has Vidya and Tusshar against the backdrop of rain. Tusshar holds Vidya’s sari by one end and she swirls away from him and strips off her sari. The tawdry background music with a coquettish female “uh!” in the end is very much a throwback to the music of the 80s.

The Dirty Picture also stars Emraan Hashmi and Naseeruddin Shah. It’s directed by Milan Luthria and produced by Ekta Kapoor.

The film is slated to release on December 2.

Vidya Balan to kiss Emraan Hashmi!

She is one of the most sensuous actresses in Bollywood nowadays.Vidya Balan lights up the screen with her charismatic persona and spontaneous acting, but now she has decided to scorch up the screen with her next film The Dirty Picture where she is sharing screen space with no one else but the serial kisser Emraan Hashmi. So, like most of Emraan’s heroines, is Vidya also ready for liplocking.

It’s heard that Vidya is preparing hard for the role and wants to be very natural in front of the camera. As per sources, she wants to make sure that not the slightest awkwardness comes across as she does intimate scenes with Emraan Hashmi in the film.

Director Milan Luthria is also planning things carefully. He will first shoot the easier scenes between the couple and is keeping the steamy scenes for the latter half of the schedule. As Vidya Balan and Emraan Hashmi have never worked together, Milan is trying to make both of them comfortable with each other. As per reports, on the sets Emraan has started impressing Vidya with his jokes.

The smooch, which is already the talk of the town, is going to be a part of a romantic song. But whether Vidya will kiss Emraan is yet to be seen, and since the actress has kissed most of her co-stars like John Abraham, R. Madhavan and Arshad Warsi, we don’t see any reason why she won’t kiss Emraan.

Video : The first trailer of The Dirty Picture is out and Vidya Balan gets to flaunt her curves in the movie which is a kind of biopic on the life of the sex symbol Silk Smitha.

To portray Silk Smitha with finesse, Vidya Balan has walked an extra mile slipping not just into skimpy blouses with plunging necklines that leaves the onlookers’ eyes popped out; she seems to have done that better than her detractors would have ever anticipated.

The uninhibited display of her cleavage, the fuller mid-riff (typical of south Indian actresses), the coy smile, and that seductive posture make her every bit the oomph diva a la Silk Smitha.

Vidya also has steamy scenes with her co-actors in the film. Though she is sharing screen space with Tusshar Kapoor and Emraan Hashmi, she has mostly shot for intimate scenes with much older Naseeruddin Shah, who also gets to undrape her sari in the teaser.

The pics of actresses being morphed has become a common act in Bollywood these days. The latest actress to be hit by this dirty business is Kajal Agarwal whose pic has been morphed into a topless one by FHM, a Mumbai-based men’s magazine. Kajal admits having done a photo shoot for the magazine but is hurt by the way her fabricated topless picture was published on the cover, thereby tarnishing her image.

Her sister and actress Nisha Agarwal says that the act has done a lot of damage to Kajal’s personal and professional image and that Kajal would never do such a thing to gain publicity. This pitcure had upset her family as they were getting innumerous calls from friends, family and well-wishers from the industry, expressing shock over the issue.

“We had to explain to them that it was a morphed picture and exposed the unprofessional conduct of the publishing house,” Nisha added further.
