Thin and Curly Hair

My hair is naturally very thin and curly. I don’t think it is the nice kind of curly though. It gets frizzy so easily that it makes it unmanageable. So, I blow dry on high heat and then flat iron it. What a pain. It takes me longer to do my hair in the morning than it takes my husband to shower, shave, get dressed and eat breakfast. OMG!

White Hair

My hair is also very white. Now you might not think that has any bearing on my problem, but you would be wrong. The problem is the heat I used to dry and straighten my hair was also BURNING my hair! So my beautiful white hair was turning yellow.

Brazilian Blowout

So, what is a Brazilian Blowout? Through the use of a Brazilian Super Nutrient Complex and a proprietary polymer system, the Brazilian Blowout actually improves the condition of the hair by creating a protective protein layer around the hair shaft to eliminate frizz and smooth the cuticle. The end result is smooth, healthy, conditioned hair with radiant shine.

The process seems pretty simple. You get your hair washed, then the stylist apply’s the cream treatment to your hair then flat iron the treatment which activates the solution. Then your hair is rinsed and dried a final time. It doesn’t seem much different from having your hair styled. It lasts for about 90 days.

I will continue to have mine done regularly and I would definitely give the product a 10 on the scale of 1 – 10. This one gets a thumbs up!

Chemical Straightening

Talk to your stylist about the look you want. Hair straightening starts with chemicals and color treated or otherwise damaged hair may need a different formula. The chemical your stylist applies breaks down the bonds of your hair that create the curl and frizz. The chemical is applied for a few minutes then rinsed out and a neutralizer formula is applied.

Conditioner

Conditioning afterward is very important. Your hair will be fragile and you need to treat it gently. The stylist will apply a conditioner after treatment, but you need to follow through and apply conditioner everyday. You should also apply a deep conditioner once or twice a week.

Relaxed hair is more porous which cause it to hold onto product applied to it so make sure you rinse thoroughly when you shampoo. It is also much more fragile, so use your fingers or a wide tooth comb to detangle as a brush can cause breakage.

Talk to your stylist and get the right treatment for your type of hair.

• Start with gently dried wet hair
• For the smoothest results, don’t fluff with your hands (rough drying)
• Use product sparingly and only on the ends
• Start in front where the hair dry’s the quickest
  • Using a round brush and plenty of tension, aim the blow-dryer at the roots and move it along the length of your hair to the ends
• For volume and height dry in the opposite direction that you want it to lye
• For extra bounce pin it up while it cools
• Finally, spray your hair lightly and leave it alone
