Understanding Breast Implant Size

Unfortunately breast implants are not measured in cup sizes, but rather they are measured by the volume that they hold. This is usually measured in terms of cc’s (or milliliters).

This is important to understand as the cup size you end up with will be a result of the breast implant size coupled with you breast size before surgery. And secondly, as with clothing, standard cup sizes tend to vary between manufacturers. For example a C-cup from one label may not measure the same as a C-cup from another label.

However, even though all women are built differently, and bra cup sizes are not standardized, a guide can still be reached in regard to breast implant size and cup size. In general 150 – 210cc’s will equal one cup size. Interestingly, a survey carried out recently regarding breast augmentation surgery patients, showed that more than eighty percent of the patients surveyed desired an average to a full C-cup. Following this the second most requested size was D-cup, and third most common request was for a small C-cup. Following these most requested size goals were full D-cup and double D-cup.
