Billion dollar camping financing is not compatible with democracy, in that the two are complete opposites, with one catering to a different segment. I honestly do not believe exponential spending is they way to promote democracy, as that is a sign of corruption. The middle-class is suffocated, and for years, they have tried to survive, but when all you see is more of the same, it's hard to keep on.

A Book That Shows Why the UK Should Leave the EU

Robert Oulds' book, Everything You Wanted to Know About the EU, published in 2013, is still timely and even more relevant than when first published; I doubt whether any of its central contentions have been subsequently disproved, and all we have to welcome are some updates on the statistics which are probably likely to further confirm his central contentions. In fact some of the events since 2013, specifically the Syrian immigration crisis, must add more weight to his position. But to be clear at the outset: Robert Oulds is the Director of the Bruges Group, which for the last 20 years has been campaigning for the UK exit from the EU. So, partisan? Yes, but being partisan does not disqualify one from having an informed opinion, or further from even being right. The purpose of criticism is to see the object for what it is and to do that one has to understand one's own subjectivity first and build that into the equation. This I think Robert Oulds has admirably done

These are principles like Faith, Family, Flag and Free Enterprise, which are cultural values held by establishment institutions and the majority in the mainstream, but utilitarian neo-liberal elite who currently have most of the power in the country want to change things from what they were in the past to conform with what is modern conservatism today.
Animal Farm is a savage satire on communist revolution written by George Orwell. Set on an English Farm named Manor Farm, this fable-like story concerns the misery that the animals faced in the hands of human beings. Old Major, a reverential, time-honored pig, called all the animals together for a meeting which took place after Mr. Jones had gone to bed.

Could America Become A Theocracy? Steven Jonas Thinks So - And Wrote "The 15% Solution" to Prove It

The 15% Solution employs the public record of theocratic statements, pledges and policies from leading Republicans and their allies on the Right to support details of a post democratic America after a theocratic coup. It seems a not-unlikely worst case scenario of off-the-rails religion-based government, a descent into totalitarian Christian rule. One overwhelming sense the reader gets from this book is that we are much closer to such a tragedy than most Americans realize. While The 15% Solution has elements of the grim futures seen in Aldous Huxley's "Brave New World" and George Orwell's "1984," the future that Dr. Jonas presents is most unnervingly closest to the dystopian order presented by Margaret Atwood in "The Handmaiden's Tale."

Jane Mayer, in a gripping analysis of the dark side of the intelligence business, portrays Bush's administration on a quest to subvert future attacks against America. In shocking detail, she characterizes an insatiable drive to make terror suspects talk. Sadly, it is apparent that legal maneuverings were pursued to bring American interrogators to the edge of legally torturing individuals to obtain actionable intelligence. Unfortunately, after allowing such atrocities as sensory deprivation and the now infamous water boarding techniques, very little sound intelligence was ever developed.

As the author says in the preface of the book, the focus of the book is on the intersection of post-9/11 national security dilemmas that face the United States and its allies, the development and application of the strategic doctrines and policies that respond to those circumstances, and presidential leadership and judgment that are brought to bear, for better or worse, on these issues, and as the title of the book implies it uses the analysis of two presidencies and the doctrine that both connects and separates them, as a method. After 9/11 when the American national icons were attacked, the Bush Administration put into place a large set of policies designed to prevent another, more deadly attack, policies which were controversial both domestically and abroad. Barack Obama ran for the disagreements which those policies were based on and was elected to the presidency.

The book has a Foreword by Newt Gingrich and is also endorsed on the cover by Rush Limbaugh. Therefore, you can tell right now that if you are a liberal, die hard democrat, or just someone who leans that way, you are not going to like this book much. Unless you are reading it to learn more about conservative principles that Ronald Reagan stood for. If you are a conservative, you are going to enjoy this book much more. Though there are some anthologies of presidential papers and speeches from the 19th century, true autobiographies are rare, the most notable being that of Ulysses S. Grant. That all changed beginning with Harry S. Truman. In fact, since Truman, every president with the obvious exception of John F. Kennedy, has written some sort of post-presidential memoir.
Recently, an acquaintance of mind mentioned that Think Tanks historically have had a great deal of impact on policy making decisions in Washington DC, especially when it comes to the strategic defense of our country. Indeed, that is rather hard to deny and it is good to have the top thinkers of our time supporting our common goal to have the strongest defense on the planet. Without that we really do not have any guarantee that our great nation can continue.

Often politicians running for office will write books, and many of them will use these books to rally their base of supporters. It's always been an excellent tool for high-power politicians in the House and Senate or perhaps even running for president.
A picture of America's first coloured President makes for the cover of Dreams of My Father. Look closer and there's a tag that says, "His remarkable story in his own words". But this book is not about the Barack Obama, we all know. It's about the other Barack Obama, the President's father.
