He’s a wyr warrior, a god of storms. She’s the heir to the Dark Fae throne. But desire will bring both to their knees in this all-new Novel of the Elder Races.

During the rule of her murderous Dark Fae uncle, Thistle “Tricks” Periwinkle found sanctuary among the wyr in New York. Her ethereal beauty and sparkling personality won the hearts of the public, but after her uncle’s death, there are those who don’t want to see her ascend to the throne…
Able to wield thunder and lightning, wyr sentinel Tiago Black Eagle has ruled the skies for centuries. His massive build and thunderous power make him one of the wyr’s best weapons. And he’s sent to protect Tricks when she’s almost assassinated in Chicago.
Soon, both Tiago and Tricks will fall prey to the stormy hunger that engulfs them—a passion that will shake the very foundation of all the worlds…
I thought Ms. Harrison's first book Dragon Bound was fantastic but to me this one was better. I love the hero in this one. Can you say tortured hero. He rocks and the way he treats Tricks is fantastic. And I really liked her. Even though she was younger than him she didn't take any of his crap. And she really comes into her own in this book. I love the way this book ended and can't wait to read the third and fourth and any more she writes in this series.
I give this one 5 stars and I bought this one myself. If you haven't read this series please do. You won't be disappointed.

Temper is Not Easily Extinguished

Half-human and half-wyr, Pia Giovanni spent her life keeping a low profile among the wyrkind and avoiding the continuing conflict between them and their Dark Fae enemies. But after being blackmailed into stealing a coin from the hoard of a dragon, Pia finds herself targeted by one of the most powerful–and passionate—of the Elder Races.

As the most feared and respected of the wyrkind, Dragos Cuelebre cannot believe someone had the audacity to steal from him, much less succeed. And when he catches the thief, Dragos spares her life, claiming her as his own to further explore the desire they’ve ignited in one another.

I was late to these books but I love them. This one in particular I really liked cause I love dragon shifters and Dragos is the top shifter of the bunch. Pia was tough heroine. And the cast of character in Ms. Harrison's books were fantastic. I wanted to join this and meet these characters in person. I really lost myself in this world. I wasted no time in purchasing the second one in this series and that is not my usually mo. Most times I can wait but this is one of those series where you have to devour these books as soon as they are available. I have the third one now and its near the top of my tbr pile.

I give this one 5 stars and I bought it myself and my opinion in my own. Run go buy this series. If you love dragons or any other type of paranormal creature then you need to read this series.

He stopped by the broken down nightstand and unlocked his cuff, his long blonde hair draping his face. She reached up and gently shoved it aside, and his gaze slowly lifted to hers, his eyes glowing silver, all remnants of yellow now gone.

“What’s happening to you?” she repeated, then rephrased. “What happened to you?”

Sterling Jeter has remarkable powers and has shown himself

to be just about indestructible. But beautiful, brilliant Rebecca

Burns knows that even a Super Soldier needs comfort, and so

much more…

But she can see that deep down,

he’s just a man…

Sterling and Rebecca’s teenage romance was interrupted,

but years later the heat between them flares back to life.

Even though it endangers everything they’re fighting for, it’s

impossible to resist picking up right where they left off…

Read an extra excerpt HERE:
http://www.lisareneejones.com/books/the-storm-that-is-sterling/sterling-excerpt/

So with Sterling’s ghost in mind ….do you have one of your own?

Many of my stories have paranormal elements, and certainly my Vampire Wardens have Vampires and Werewolves. A few of my other books, like Beast of Darkness, deal with ghosts and demons. Even in a fictional world I find those creatures from otherworlds scarier than those different beings from our world. Perhaps, because a ghost or a demon, seem so possible. My DH has a couple really freaky ghost stories. One where he was frozen and unable to move while staying in a haunted place. That same night, his buddy got scared and went to the house next door. Everyone with DH thought he came back. They SAW him. He didn’t. The entire story is creepy and will give me chills every time I hear it.

As for my own ghost story? My ex’s parents lived on a country property in North Carolina. When we first moved there we spent a month living with them while we found a home. The place was spooky and it was said the prior owner died there and stayed around. One night I was in the basement that was converted to an apartment and my ex and his parents went on errands. I heard footsteps walking across the living room and rushed upstairs to welcome them home. They weren’t there. I sat on the corner of the couch and stared at the room, unmoving, no television on, for the next thirty minutes until everyone got home. I was scared to death from that point on in that house.

So tell me your scary story for a chance to win a goodie bag of books and bath and body shop goodies!

Mercy is a shapeshifter, a talent she inherited from her long-gone father. She's never known any others of her kind. Until now.

An evil is stirring in the depths of the Columbia River-one that her father's people may know something about. And to have any hope of surviving, Mercy and her mate, the Alpha werewolf Adam, will need their help...

Mercy is not your typical badass heroine usually found in UF books. She's more like a Pitt Bull. Tenacious with a side order of stubborn as hell thrown in for good measure. And she's also loyal to her loved ones to a fault and extremely protective. Love love loved the surprise that Jesse and Mercy's mom pulled on her with the rest of her friends and families help.

Adam now is such and neat guy and great dresser. He's totally opposite Mercy in many ways but these two together just seem to click. Could be because under that exterior the interior contains its own monster. Adam is also extremely protective and as a were made even more so. but he loves Mercy enough to let her be herself which includes letting her fight monsters if needs be. And in this situation needs be. Love that we find out more about Mercy history and what she is and is not. Her help was some really interesting characters and I hope we learn more about some of them. And I must say that Ms. Briggs wrote a freaky and strange killer. What with all that is going in this book it is one wild and fast read. Loved it. and I hope we see many more in this series. And maybe some with the secondary characters as well.
I give is book a 5 star review and I paid for it myself for my own personal pleasure.

Hot Vampire Seduction

The underground vampire population of Austin, Texas has taken to hosting orgies with human women who’ve been forced to indulge in a new aphrodisiac. The drug, Blood Red, is a mixture of a rare type of werewolf blood and that of a vampire. Blood Red creates an insatiable desire for sex in the user to the point of pain in the absence of pleasure. Sometimes that pain leads to death.

Vampire Warden, Aiden Brooks, has spent more than a hundred years enforcing the laws of his race, and life has taught him that anyone that he allows into his world ends up dead. Despite knowing this all too well, having painfully loved and lost in his past, when his search for the creator of Blood Red places coroner Kelly Riggs directly in both his path, and that of a dangerous clan of vampires, his desire for her goes well beyond offering her protection. He’s drawn to her bravery, seduced by her feisty spirit and beauty, but he is determined to resist her, fearing he will put her in harms way. But Kelly is already on the radar of the enemy, and when she gets too close to the evil vampire clan’s secrets, she is given Blood Red. Now Aiden’s hunger for her might be the only thing that can keep her alive but who will save her from him?

I just finished this book today. And it was fantanstic. Loved Lisa's take on vamps especially their natural evolutions. And Kelly is one of my alltime favorite heroines. She smart, feisty, beautiful, and cuts right to the chase. She's also not one to allow her fear to control her. She controls it. She gives as good as she gets. Of course Aiden as the older, sexy, vamp is wonderful but he's proves that old vamps can learn new tricks. And of course the menage doesn't hurt this book one bit lol. I am so waiting for Troy book and I am looking forward learning more about Marcus. I am going to have to get the first one this weekend. I was sent this one by the author and I give it 4 1/2 stars.

HOT VAMPIRE KISS

Book one, Evan’s story

The werewolf population is entrenched in a century long civil war, and now they are plagued by a virus that is turning wolves into killers. The Brooks brothers pursue one such rogue werewolf to Temple, Texas. It is in Temple that Evan encounters a beautiful nurse named Marissa who instantly melts the hundred years of ice running through his veins. When she is brutally attacked by the wolf, he breaks the rules of the Vampire Council and uses his blood to save her. Now, if he doesn’t kill the wolf by the next full moon, Marissa will become a killer wolf, and he will be sentenced to death.

EXCERPT:

Three hours later, the bar was closed, but Evan had ensured that Marissa lingered in her seat, a drink in front of her. He wasn’t about to allow her to leave without him, and not just because of the wolf he was certain would have her in his sight. No – there was more to his desire to keep Marissa nearby. Plain and simple, he wanted her, and not just physically, though there was no question, she got him hot and hard. He was, after all, a male, a vampire male, with primal, sexual instincts that had him imagining all kinds of wicked ways to make her scream his name. But what really had him by the balls was not the desire she created in him, but the way she’d made him laugh when he’d have sworn it wasn’t possible. The way she’d made him smile when he was certain he had no reason. The way she’d made him realize how empty a century of hunting had made him and he wanted to know why, and how, a woman he barely knew could do such things. The time for discovery, both in and out of bed, was not now though.

He wiped down the counter, working toward closing up the bar, focused on getting Marissa out of here safely. To ensure the wolf didn’t target her, as he normally did the friends and acquaintances of his victims.

All but done with the façade of this night’s bartender duties, he cast a quick, seductive glance at Marissa, making no attempt to tame the primal heat in his stare. She wasn’t for him, he told himself silently. She was a forever kind of girl, and not the kind of forever he could give her. Nevertheless, when she smiled shyly at him, his groin tightened, cock thickening against his zipper, and he knew he wasn’t walking away without fucking her every which way she’d have him.

He tossed the rag down, and rounded the bar, eliminating the counter that had separated them all night, to stand beside her, his hand on the back of her stool. She turned to face him, the scent of her teasing his nostrils, his arm creating an intimate enclosure, trapping her between the counter and his body. She was his in that moment and the idea appealed to him far more than it should. One tilt of his head and his teeth could touch that delicate, pale neck. His lips her lips. His body her body.

She glanced up at him, her long, dark lashes fluttering with a combination of uncertainty and desire, her pupils dilated with the effects of the alcohol she’d consumed.

“You really are…tall,” she whispered.

“And you,” he said, brushing a finger over her chin, “really are beautiful.” And innocent. Too innocent and perfect for the likes of him.

She shivered. “Tall and a smooth talker, I think I should be afraid.” Her palm slid down the bar. “Ouch!” She drew her hand forward, red pooling on her index finger, a splinter of wood sticking out from the red center.

Instant lust fired through Evan as he took the opportunity presented and snatched the splinter away before he drew her finger to his lips. The sweet taste of her blood exploded on his taste buds, filling him with lust, desire — fueling the sexual side of his vampire nature, when he already wanted this woman to the point of white-hot demand. His gums tingled, his recessed cuspids threatening to extend.

His eyes met hers, the scent of her arousal, the taste of her blood, seeping through him with a demand that he claim her, claim satisfaction. Somewhere in the back of the bar a door slammed shut. The sound was a jolt of reality that shook Evan just enough to calm the beast inside him threatening to take control of him, of her.

Slowly his tongue swirled around her finger, and then he released it, inspecting the area where the splinter had been.

“All better,” he said.

A stunned look etched her features. “I was right,” she whispered.

His brows dipped, “Rright?”

“When I said I should be afraid of you,” she explained. “Because there is no way that what you just did should not bother me but it…”

He leaned close, sliding his face against hers, his lips near her ear, his mouth far too close to the vein he hungered to puncture — for his own good – most certainly for her own good. And yet, he found himself asking, “Aroused you?”

She drew a breath. “Yes.”

“As it did me,” he assured her, and silently wondered if perhaps it was him that should be afraid of her, for the way she stole his reserve, his caution. His control.

He leaned back, offering her his hand to help her stand. “I won’t bite,” he promised. “Not unless you ask me to.” And damn how he wished she would, how he wanted to convince her she should.

She laughed, nervously. “I’ve never asked a man to bite me in my life,” she said, pressing her palm against his.

He brought her fingers to his lips. “Then I could be the first.”

Her eyes went wide, “To bite me?”

“In the most pleasurable of ways,” he assured her.

She blushed. “I must be drunk,” she said, “because I so believe you. Probably a sign I need to go home.”

“I’ll drive you and take a cab home,” he offered. “Then you’ll have your car tomorrow.”

She considered him a moment. “I should say no.”

“But you’re going to say yes.”

Product Description

FIRST IN A NEW SERIES! CAN TRUE LOVE SURVIVE A WAR BETWEEN ANGELS, VAMPIRES, AND LYCANS?

Adrian Mitchell is a powerful angel leading an elite Special Ops unit of Seraphim. His task is to punish the Fallen--angels who have become vampires--and command a restless pack of indentured lycans. But Adrian has suffered his own punishment for becoming involved with mortals--losing the woman he loves again and again. Now, after nearly two hundred years, he has found her--Shadoe--her soul once more inhabiting a new body, with no memory of him. And this time, he won't let her go...

To me it is very ironic that Adrian punished the Fallen for the same thing he does. He tore their wings off and made them vampires for daring to mate with humans. Granted his mate was half angel half human since she was the daughter of one of the Fallen and a mortal. But she was partially human so in my opinion that's the same thing. I really liked this book and think that is a new take on vamps and angels. I am looking forward to reading more in this series. My only problem with this book was that it ended rather abruptly. I'm not sure if this was the issue with the book or the e-version I received from Netgalley. At least Adrian and Lindsey aka Shadoe were together but there were several issues with who was orchestrating the war between the fallen, angels and lycans that were never solved. According to the clues it looks like it could be several folks bringing this about including at least one angel.

Like I said I am awaiting the next book very impatiently lol. This book was provided electronically from Netgalley free of charge for an honest and unbiased review.

Danger waits on both sides of the grave.

Half-vampire Cat Crawfield and her vampire husband Bones have fought for their lives, as well as for their relationship. But just when they've triumphed over the latest battle, Cat's new and unexpected abilities threaten to upset a long-standing balance...

With the mysterious disappearance of vampires, rumors abound that a species war is brewing. A zealot is inciting tensions between the vampires and ghouls, and if these two powerful groups clash, innocent mortals could become collateral damage. Now Cat and Bones are forced to seek help from a dangerous "ally"--the ghoul queen of New Orleans herself. But the price of her assistance may prove more treacherous than even the threat of a supernatural war. ...to say nothing of the repercussions Cat never imagined.

I loved this book. As normal Cat and Bones are great. Their relationship is solid but Apollyon is determined to end Cat one way or another and has stirred up the ghouls to that end. And if the vamps knew how she fed and what it does for her a bunch of them would be glad to help. With the help of their new ally they manage to avert all out war but it leaves Cat to face the consequences which might be more than she can handle. We shall see. I am looking forward to the next one in this series as well as as the spin-offs. This one was not as meaty as some of the others but overall was a well enjoyed read. I give it 4 stars and I bought and paid for this one all on my lonesome.

I’d rather face a dozen lethal assassins any night than deal with something as tricky, convoluted, and fragile as my feelings.

But here I am. Gin Blanco, the semi-retired assassin known as the Spider. Hovering outside sexy businessman Owen Grayson’s front door like a nervous teenage girl. One thing I like about Owen: he doesn’t shy away from my past—or my present. And right now I have a bull’s-eye on my forehead. Cold-blooded Fire elemental Mab Monroe has hired one of the smartest assassins in the business to trap me. Elektra LaFleur is skilled and efficient, with deadly electrical elemental magic as potent as my own Ice and Stone powers. Which means there’s a fifty-fifty chance one of us won’t survive this battle. I intend to kill LaFleur—or die trying—because Mab wants the assassin to take out my baby sister, Detective Bria Coolidge, too. The only problem is, Bria has no idea I’m her long-lost sibling . . . or that I’m the murderer she’s been chasing through Ashland for weeks. And what Bria doesn’t know just might get us both dead. . . .

I absolutely love this series. And in this book Jennifer pulls us further into Gin's world and we learn more Owen whom I am hoping is a good as he seems. Mab makes a bad mistake in this book by going after Bria and of course we all know how Gin handles threats to those she loves. This allows us to find more about Gin's powers and how she's just as powerful an Ice Elemental as she is a Stone. I'm hoping Gin takes Mab out cause we find out that she'll use anyone to get information that she needs. I am so looking forward to the next book this to see her get her just deserts lol. I am going to give this one a 4 1/2 stars. I purchased this book for my own personal use.

Overview .

"Thou art the Black Rider. Go thee out unto the world."

Lisabeth Lewis has a black steed, a set of scales, and a new job: she’s been appointed Famine. How will an anorexic seventeen-year-old girl from the suburbs fare as one of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse?
Traveling the world on her steed gives Lisa freedom from her troubles at home—her constant battle with hunger, and her struggle to hide it from the people who care about her. But being Famine forces her to go places where hunger is a painful part of everyday life, and to face the horrifying effects of her phenomenal power. Can Lisa find a way to harness that power—and the courage to fight her own inner demons?

A wildly original approach to the issue of eating disorders, Hunger is about the struggle to find balance in a world of extremes, and uses fantastic tropes to explore a difficult topic that touches the lives of many teens.

This book was a hard read for me and I almost didn't finish not because of the writing which was excellent. This one was all on the the heroine. In most of the book she was a very weak heroine and let her inner voice drive her nuts. Even though I'm a big woman I am strong enough that even though it bothers me I don't think I could ever do this to myself and what she put her boyfriend and friend through was not right. I know lots of folks especially teen girls go through these same things and for that I wish them strength and peace to handle it. But for me I read for enjoyment and I didn't receive much from this book. Even though I liked the ending I won't be reading any more in this series. But maybe if some teen is going through issues with this maybe this book would help them or give them an opening to discuss with their parents.

Overall I give this book a 2.5 stars and I was given a copy of this book for review by Netgalley with no other compensation.
Product Description

Super-Being Exterminator Kitty Katt and the Alpha Centaurian she loves, Jeff Martini, should be finalizing their wedding plans. But that was before she discovers Jeff is in line to become Emperor back on his home world. Kitty knows she is everything a royal family wouldn't approve of, and is bracing herself for the worst. As it turns out, the royal family is just the beginning. Especially when extraterrestrial Amazonian terrorists are determined to start and end Kitty and Jeff's nuptial festivities with a bang.

This story kept me hanging on the edge of my seat as to what the heck could happen next. This one was another book by Ms Koch that was like getting on the biggest, wildest, roller coaster ride around. She doesn't stop with the action until the book stops lol. And that had to be the funniest, wildest, and craziest wedding I've ever read about. And the end with Martini knowing certain things before she does was hilarious.

I hope Ms. Koch keeps writing books for a long, long time because I will certainly be buying whatever she writes. This series is quickly becoming one of my favorites. I give this book a 5 stars.

This book was purchased for my personal pleasure and if you not read these books you need to run to the book store and purchase them all.
Product Description

Rowan Summerwaite is no ordinary woman. Physical vessel to the Celtic Goddess Brigid and raised by the leader of the Vampire Nation, she's a supercharged hunter with the power to slay any vampire who violates the age-old treaty.

A recent string of murders has her at odds with Las Vegas's new Scion, the arrogant and powerful Clive Stewart. The killings have the mark of Vampire all over them, and Rowan warns Clive to keep his people in line—or she'll mete out her own brand of justice.

Though her dealings with Clive are adversarial to say the least, Rowan is intensely aware of her attraction to him. But she can't let it distract her from her duty—to find and battle the killer before more women die

I love Lauren's take on vampires. Its very fresh and different what with an agreement between the vamps and the hunters. Very different indeed. And with the addition of who raised Rowen and her family history it makes for one conflicted heroine which I liked. And Clive he's very arrogant and sure of himself which makes Rowan either want to kill him or kiss him. Sometimes its a toss up as to which way she'll go lol.

If you like Lauren's other books you'll like this one too. It was a very good story with great characters. I didn't think her characters were as fleshed out as some of her other books and that her secondary characters weren't as good in this book as some of her others like her Chance series but this was still a good book. I give it 3 1/2 stars

I received a copy of this one from Netgalley for review purposes only and no other consideration.

Nessa lost her memory following a near-death experience. Dominic is a Hunter dealing with his own problems with memory and sanity. When the two are put together to battle the forces of darkness-while trying to restore what they've lost-their all-consuming passion becomes an even greater unknown.

I like most folks who follow Shiloh's Hunters have been waiting on this one forever. I loved Nessa as a character since she was first introduced. But Nessa wasn't what I was expecting. Yes she still was a very capable witch. But with things that happened to her and her loved ones she is very vulnerable and in order for her to reconnect with her lost love who is now Dominic she would have to be. I believe that Shiloh wrote these character how they would have to be in order to get them together but I was hoping that her male character would be a strong enough character to get together with Nessa but unfortunately in this series I don't think anyone fit the bill except Mal and he's definitely taken and any new character would be a cheesy way out of this problem. That being said this was a satisfying read and these two characters fit. I just had a problem with Nessa being more of a wimp that I liked and I hate to say this since I usually love Shiloh's heroine. They kick butt. I give this one 3 stars and I bought and paid for it myself.
Product Description

A rebel army has been established to win back the land from demons-and a one soldier named Xan has appeared out of nowhere to join them. Beautiful army captain Laisyn Caar is shocked by the powerful, all- consuming desire she feels in his presence, but when she discovers the dark secrets of Xan's agenda, she'll have to determine whether the man she's starting to love is a friend of her people-or a dreaded enemy.

This story was a continuation of a book I loved by Shiloh. It was Through the Veil my favorite book by her. Syn and Xan were both strong characters and they had their faults and Xan especially liked to keep to many secrets. My only thing about this book was that being a continuation in a series was that I had already forgotten most of the first book because there was so long between books but after a reread of the first i was completely up to speed so my suggestion is if you like Shi's book and haven't read the first one buy them both and read them in order.
I give this one 4 1/2 stars and I bought this one myself .

Seeing is deceiving. And Ric Van Holtz, the wolfishly sexy hero of Shelly Laurenston's sizzling, wildly entertaining new tale, is nothing you expect--and everything you want. . .

When it comes to following her instincts, former Marine Dee-Ann Smith never holds back. And this deadly member of a shifter protection group will do anything to prove one of her own kind is having hybrids captured for dogfights. Trouble is, her too-cute rich-boy boss Ric Van Holtz insists on helping out. And his crazy-like-a-fox smarts and charming persistence are making it real hard for Dee to keep her heart safe. . ..

Ric can't believe his luck. He's wanted this fiercely independent she-wolf from day one, but he never expected teamwork as explosive as this. And now is his last chance to show Dee what she needs isn't some in-your-face Alpha male--but a wily, resourceful wolf who'll always have her back in a fight. . .and between the sheets.

I love Shelly's books and this one was no exception. I wasn't very sure about Dee Ann to start with but the more I got to know her the more I liked her. She's smart, crafty, and mean as a striped snake. And she gave Ric grief which is a good thing cause he smart, sinfully handsome, and way to smooth around the ladies. But you put them together and they just work. He's good to her and good for her and its a good thing he's a wolf because he's sort of like a dog with her as his bone ROFL. In turn Dee Ann needs him and is all his which is what he needs with that family of his. But I'm stopping there cause no spoilers. But dayumn what she does to his brother I loved it. They also learn who's behind the hybrid fights and put paid to that and we also get to see some of the characters from previous books which I love.

I bought this book for myself with my own money and I give this one 5 stars and I'm anxiously awaiting her next book.
A Song of Love won her heart.
A Song of Darkness haunted her soul.
A Song in the Dance would seal her fate.

Seers had long foreseen an extraordinary destiny for Ellysetta Baristani. Already she had won the heart of the Fey King—the magnificent Rain, ever her ally, eternally her love. She had saved the offspring of the magical tairen and fought beside her legendary mate against the armies of Eld. But the most powerful—and dangerous—Verse of her Song had yet to be sung. As the final battle draws nigh and evil tightens its grip upon her soul—will Ellysetta secure the world for Light or plunge it into Darkness for all eternity? As she and Rain fight for each other, side by side, will they find a way to complete their truemate bond and defeat the evil High Mage of Eld before it's too late, or must they make the ultimate sacrifice to save their world?
Fantastic fantasy series and as far as I am concerned the author saved the best for last in this series. I loved that even though the we've already had Rain and Elly's HFN they get their HEA in this book. And that she and the rest of family were brought back together had me cheering at the end of this book. This book just goes to show becareful what you wish for or at least that was the case for the baddie the High Mage of Eld.
If you love fantasy, strong heroines, Fey, Tairen, shapeshifters, men that are honorable warriors that love with their whole heart then this book is for you. If you like any of these things you definitely need to give this series a go. And lucky you can read the whole series from start to finish. I envy you. I think I'll do that myself. Yeah it was just that good lol. I give this book 4 1/2 stars and I bought and paid for this my own self. I am wishing that the author has more books in this world. There are some secondary characters I'd love to check up on.

By Vivian Arend

She's the cat's meow, and he's ready to pounce!

Five miles of leather-clad leg is all it takes to lure Kyle Branegan out from his carefully hidden lifestyle as part of the Cougar Corp, a secret branch of the Shifter Enforcer League. He's hoping for a night of fun and frolic, cat-style, no strings attached. With a sultry swing of her hips, Eloise Scott tangles him up in her ball of tricks, and just when he thinks he's about to get lucky, she cuffs him-naked-to her bed.

An undercover cop in the human police force, El's been given a top-secret mission to keep the big cat under her paw until he's needed to testify in court in the New Year. Her decision to take him home for a quiet Christmas in her sleepy hometown turns out to be far more interesting than she expected. Her parents are suddenly rich, her old boyfriend is sniffing around and all six-feet-plus of sexy cougar male is sleeping in her bed.

And that's before they announce their fake engagement...

No Angel

By Vivi Andrews

When Sasha's boyfriend, Jay, is sucked through a fiery vortex to Hell, an angel reveals that Sasha's been chosen as the Champion of Virtue in the battle for his immortal soul. As a perennial offender on Santa's naughty list, Sasha can't believe she's anyone's idea of a girl fighting on the side of the angels. But if she doesn't save Jay, he'll be stuck in Hell forever!

Jay-aka Jevroth-isn't surprised to find himself back in Hell. His visa to visit the mortal plane expired three months ago, but to steal more time with Sasha he's been ignoring his mother's demands that he come home to spend time with his new stepfather: Lucifer.

Sasha has until dawn on the twenty-fifth of December to fight the Legions of Hell and rescue Jay, or be trapped there for eternity herself. But now she must decide if the lying son-of-a-demon is even worth saving...

Freeze Line

By Moira Rogers

She can't survive in his world; he can't stay sane in hers

A twenty-first century ice age dulls the magic that emanates from the earth. Shane Sullivan is a lone wolf above the freeze line. He has no desire to join the packs that range closer to the border, where feral instincts can turn a man into a monster. Not until the winter solstice, when he stumbles across a dying witch who needs his help to get back to her people-and her magic-in the south.

Nadia is a powerful woman in her own world, but she's been drained by her escape from captivity in a northern lab. She knows it's foolhardy to trust a werewolf, but he's her only chance to survive the vast white wilderness. The farther south they travel, the harder it is for Shane to keep the beast within under control, and as their mutual attraction intensifies, Nadia's no longer sure she wants him to.

The first story Tangled Tinsel in this book cracked me up. I love how El keep getting to Kyle with and without his permission. These two character were great for each other. He brought out the playful kitten in El and she tamed the tom right out of him. Love it and hope there is more stories in this world.

The Second Story is No Angel and it's not funny at all. It is full of angst an anxiety as Jev is keeping some big ass secrets from Sasha that have come back and bit him in the ass. He gets sucked into Hell and she either has to rescue him or cut him loose. With some issued of her own and all the other demons in hell against them it does have some harrowing moments. But we get to meet Lucifer and if I had to put up with his new wife it might make me a cranky assed devil too.

My favorite story in this book was Freeze Line. But then again I don't think I've ever read anything by Moira Rogers that I didn't like. Nadia is a powerful witch below the freeze line but she's virtually defenseless above it and Shane though a werewolf is not your typical one in this world. He's one of the good ones and helps Nadia to return to her world even though she's not sure who there betrayed her to the people who captured her. I love the interactions between during the trip home as both of them fall for the other. I just wish this one had been much longer lol.

I was given this book by Netgalley to review and I give it 4 stars.
First of all, I want to say thanks to Pam for having me on the blog today. Thanks so much, Pam! ;-)

Reading is one of my passions in life, so today, Pam asked me to talk about some of the good books that I've read that I've enjoyed, both for adult and young adult books. Here goes:

I'd Tell You I Love You, But Then I'd Have To Kill You by Ally Carter: This YA book focuses on Gallagher Academy, a spy school for teen girls. I'm a sucker for spy books, and this one is just a fun read.

Graceling by Kristin Cashore: This epic fantasy tale focuses on a princess who has a unique grace, or special talent - she can kill people. It's just a lush, elegant story and features a great romance between the princess and the guy who finally wins her heart, with lots of adventure and a truly evil bad guy.

White Cat by Holly Black: This YA book is about a teen who's from a family of conmen curse workers who can do everything from kill someone with a touch to erase people's memories. I love books about con artists, and this one is really clever. The second book in the series, Red Glove, is waiting for me in my TBR pile. Now I just need to find time to read it ?

The Eddie LaCrosse series by Alex Bledsoe: I love detective stories and fantasy, and this series combines them both. Eddie is a sword jockey (think private investigator) for hire, and the books have a great, noir feel to them. Start with the first book, The Sword-Edged Blonde.

The Lies of Locke Lamora by Scott Lynch: This is the first book in Lynch's fantasy series about Locke Lamora, one of the coolest and most clever thieves around. It's a great mix of fantasy world building, action, and cheeky characters. I'm looking forward to the third book in the series, which will be out later this year.

The Dortmunder series by Donald Westlake: Speaking of thieves, this series focuses on John Dortmunder and his friends, who are perhaps the unluckiest thieves in the world. It's always fun to see how the hangdog Dortmunder and his eccentric crew get out of their latest jam.

So there you have it. Some authors and books that I like. As if you didn't have enough books in your TBR pile already. LOL.What about you guys? Which books are you looking forward to this year? Share in the comments.

Jennifer writes the Elemental Assassin urban fantasy series for Pocket Books. The books focus on Gin Blanco, an assassin codenamed the Spider who can control the elements of Ice and Stone. When she's not busy killing people and righting wrongs, Gin runs a barbecue restaurant called the Pork Pit in the fictional Southern metropolis of Ashland. The city is also home to giants, dwarves, vampires, and elementals - Air, Fire, Ice, and Stone.

Books in the series are Spider's Bite, Web of Lies, and Venom. Tangled Threads, the fourth book, will be published on April 26, while Spider's Revenge, the fifth book, will be released in October.

Jennifer also writes the Mythos Academy young adult urban fantasy series for Kensington. The books focus on Gwen Frost, a 17-year-old Gypsy girl who has the gift of psychometry, or the ability to know an object's history just by touching it. After a serious freak-out with her magic, Gwen is shipped off to Mythos Academy, a school for the descendants of ancient warriors like Spartans, Valkyries, Amazons, and more.

The first book, Touch of Frost, will be out in August, while the second book, Kiss of Frost, will hit shelves in December. First Frost, a prequel e-short story to the series, will be out in July.
From New York Times bestselling author Kresley Cole comes this scorching tale of a demon outcast poisoned with vampire blood and the vulnerable young witch he vows to protect—even from himself.
A DANGEROUS DEMON SHE CAN’T RESIST . . .
Malkom Slaine: tormented by his sordid past and racked by vampiric hungers, he’s pushed to the brink by the green-eyed beauty under his guard.
A MADDENING WITCH HE ACHES TO CLAIM . . .
Carrow Graie: hiding her own sorrows, she lives only for the next party or prank. Until she meets a tortured warrior worth saving.
TRAPPED TOGETHER IN A SAVAGE PRISON . . .
In order for Malkom and Carrow to survive, he must unleash both the demon and vampire inside him. When Malkom becomes the nightmare his own people feared, will he lose the woman he craves body and soul?

I loved this book. Malcom and Carrow history are both tortured and with Carrow worrying about Ruby and the rest of her friends back at the compound makes this a fast paced adrenaline race from the start.
It was fantastic catching up on the the other characters and am looking forward to Lothaire and Nix's books.
