Baked Cinnamon Apple Rings – The Perfect Fall Treat

We made the cutest fall treat the other day with the kids – it was these baked cinnamon apple rings. It was a fun family activity and they tasted so good! Here’s the recipe so you can try at home.

BAKED CINNAMON APPLE RINGS RECIPE

INGREDIENTS:

* Puff pastry

* 4 Apples (gala tastes the best! first time we did granny smith and it wasn’t as sweet – gala is sweeter 🙂 )

* 1/4 cup of Sugar

* 2 tsp ground cinnamon

* 1/8 tsp Ground nutmeg

* 1 egg beaten

DIRECTION

Peel, slice apples into rounds, core center
Unfold puff pastry, roll it out a little, cut into strips
Mix the cinnamon, sugar, and nutmeg in a shallow dish and set aside.
Pat the apple slices dry with a paper towel and dust w/cinnamon sugar.
Wrap puff pastry strips around each apple ring.
Brush the wrapped apple rings with egg wash.
Dip or sprinkle rings into cinnamon sugar. (we drizzled maple syrup over to add some sweetness but don’t have to)

Bake at 400° for 20-25 minutes until puff pastry is flaky and light golden brown.

We’ve had quite a few weddings this year, I love getting dressed up and will take every opportunity to wear or try on a beautiful dresses, and wedding are the perfect excuse. I know finding the perfect wedding guest dress can be a challenge so I’m hear to help! We had my nephew’s wedding last week and I filmed a try-on haul with some of my favorites and also rounded up a few other wedding guest dresses that would work for multiple types of fall weddings.

Black tie is the best excuse to go all out – it’s the most formal so stick to floor length. I love the lines on this dress – it feels so polished but still feminine and shows just enough skin for fall.

My Current Beauty Lineup – All On Sale

I feel like my beauty routine has evolved over the years – I used to love having tons of palettes and lip colors to choose from, playing with different beauty looks every day, going all out when I had a MUA doing my looks. But now I find myself a lot more simplied in my routine and reaching for the same products over and over.

Since all of my products are on sale at Sephora right now, I wanted to share my current beauty lineup and makeup faves:

Moisturizer: When I’m wearing makeup this is my go to. What’s really unique about this one compared to my other favorite moisturizers is that it smooths and almost doubles as a primer. It’s super hydrating and smooth as butter. Feels so good on your skin! Great price point too, especially compared to some of the really high-end moisturizers I love – this one is under $100
Highlighter: This one gives the prettiest dewy finish! I dab a tiny bit on my fingers and then tap onto my cheekbones lightly to apply or you can put one pump in with your foundation – A little bit goes a long way. I use star glow shade.
Foundation: last winter I tried this foundation for the first time and it instantly won me over. It melts into your skin perfectly, blends amazing, and you only need a single pump for your whole face – maybe less. It’s good coverage but doesn’t go on thick. Honestly I think it’s the holy grail of foundation. I wear shade 11N in the winter and just bought my summer shade – 120.
Blush: I’ve been using this blush and it’s worth all they hype. I wear shade “Joy” and “Happy”. They blend so well and are the prettiest shades for that youthful, feminine glow Also love this blush wand.I have also doubled and used for lipstick too 😉
Foundation Brush: This is the best brush! I picked this up when I got the corresponding foundation. It has one end for building and the other for blending so you have great control when applying.
Bronzer: Another new product that I was instantly converted to. Love how natural this bronzer goes on!
Dior Palette: Palettes are so iffy for me – I feel like I’ll be obsessed with one for a few months and then move on to the new hot palette, so on and so on. But I’ve had been using this one for years and it’s still my go-to. Prettiest colors and blends so well.
Finishing Powder: This powder is everrrrything! A holy grail product for me. It blurs all your pores, smooths out any blemishes, and just makes your skin flawless – just like it’s name says. I wear shade 1.
Mascara: This mascara goes on so smooth and doesn’t transfer which is the biggest thing for me, especially as we head into spring/summer. Love the wand to help keep lashes separate while it lifts and lengthens.
Dior Lip Oil: Love this gloss – comes in multiple shades and it has a moisturizing finish. Feels super luxe and lasts for hours.

Guys I’m so excited to share I’m designing a collection with Amazon! You guys know how much I love hunting for good amazon finds, it was so fun getting to work with them to design my own collection. It’s been a minute since I’ve gotten to do some designing! Those of you guys who have been following for a long time probably remember my clothing line, ILY Couture. I actually started ILY before I even started my blog. It originally started after I made my own wedding hair piece and started selling them, then I made our viral ‘wifey’ tee, then when I was pregnant with Beckam it was the Preggers tee followed by all our Mom pieces. I really loved having my own line and being able to be creative and also basically source or create pieces that I wanted that I couldn’t find anywhere else.

As my blog and influencer platform took off, I felt torn in too many different directions – between ILY, the blog, and trying to be present with the kids and family, I felt like I was being spread too thin.

I realized I was more passionate about creating content and connecting with my community. I’ve always believed in following your passions, and even though at the time Ily was a more stable job than being an influencer, I just loved the influencer side more. It was sad to see everything we had built come to an end but even years later I still feel like I made the right decision.

One of the things I miss the most with Ily is the creative side and the ability to basically design or create pieces that I can envision perfectly in my mind but can’t find anywhere else available to purchase.

So when Amazon reached out about an opportunity to do a Drop collection with them I was so excited! It was the perfect opportunity to scratch that itch and be able to design some new pieces that I felt were missing from my wardrobe. And the icing on the cake – I got to do a collection for fall!! My absolute favorite style season. I’m so excited about how the prints and pieces came together! I’ve shared a few sneak peeks on instagram here, here and here.

Fall’s Best Trends Already On Sale For Amazon Prime Day

The Fall Amazon Prime Day event runs today and tomorrow and has so many great pieces to get you on track for fall, whether in fashion trends, beauty must-haves, home finds and more. I’ll be sharing it some of my favorites from the Prime Event on my IG and stories, plus styling ideas, but also wanted to start off sharing some of the pieces I already have and love that will be on major sale. A lot of these pieces sold out early last year so I would pull the trigger quick to make sure you get your size.

Everyone probably has a shacket in their fall line up by now, but this faux leather shacket is on a whole new level. It’s such an easy way to bring a new texture into even the simplest look, like leggings or denim. Wearing a size L here for an oversized fit.

This creamy chocolate color is dominating my closet this season already and I’m not slowing down. It reads so expensive/high-end and makes your closet combinations endless since you can mix these brown and tan tones for infinite possibilities, whether mixing tones or going for a more monochromatic look. Wearing size XS in these leggings – also got the black.

This vest was one of my favorite pieces last year – it was sold out most of the season but it’s back and fully stocked right now and comes in 7 colors. I’m wearing size medium here and love the oversized fit.

This brand has gone viral the past two winters and now they have a bunch of their down coats up to 30% off right now for the Fall Amazon Prime Day Event. I got this coat in tan and black last year and love the soft sherpa detail! And how cute is this matching kids one? This is the other coat that went viral. They are amazing quality, super warm, and come in multiple colors. Must-have winter coat!

This was one of my favorite organization buys that still makes me smile every time I see it. Every time anyone from my family or a friend sees it they have asked out it – anyone who uses ziploc baggies will love it.

CREAM KNIT PULLOVER – Love this knit sweater! Comes in 9 colors.

ZIPLOC DRAWER ORGANIZER – This would make a great housewarming or gift idea – once you get it you wonder how you ever lived without it. Such an easy way to get organized.

TAN BLAZER – Tis this season for blazers over pretty much everything! Love this tailored blazer look – comes in multiple colors and it’s super versatile.

WHITE SUITCASE – I am always on the hunt for a good suitcase – this one gets great reviews and comes in multiple colors and sizes.

ELEMIS CLEANSING BALM – If you aren’t double cleansing (with this cleansing balm!) what are you even doing. 🤪 But really, it makes such a difference! Definitely recommend trying if you haven’t yet.

GOLD FLOWER EARRINGS – These look so much more $$ than they actually are. Such a pretty statement earring for the holidays!

OLAPLEX – This cult hair brand is on sale too. Great excuse to try it out if you haven’t yet!

WHITE FAUX FUR BLANKET – Nothing like a cozy throw to embrace fall. Just as a cute mug in front of the fireplace and I’ll be set all season. This one is super soft and comes in multiple colors and sizes.

SHERPA/PUFFER COAT – This viral winter coat is worth the hype. Comes in tons of colors and has matching kids coats here.

GOLD HOOPS – My go-to gold hoops are on sale

TAN ANKLE BOOTS – This suede ankle boot will go with everything. Great fall shoe staple and it’s in sale ___

AIRPODS – I have the worst luck with my airpods, either losing them or breaking one of them, etc. So I don’t feel as guilty replacing them when they are in sale.

ELEMIS CLEANSER – This is one of my favorite cleansers. I also love their cleansing balms. Stocking up on this one.

LANIEGE LIP BALM – These are my favorite lip balm – buying one for me and multiple as stocking stuffers!

FAUX LEATHER BAG – Tons of great staple bags on sale for the Prime Event. Love the shape of this one.

TAN SLIPPERS – Why do I feel like I can never have enough slippers? I live in them around the house all year long and love sliding into a fresh, fluffy new pair.

RIBBED KNIT PANTS – These are the best fall loungewear sets and come in so many colors so you could really live in them all fall.

OLAPLEX (NO 4, NO 5, NO 8): I’ve been using these for years. My favorite shampoo and condition, hands down.

OLAPLEX TRAVEL KIT: I already added this one to my cart – it will cut my beauty travel bag in half haha.

HOT AIR BRUSH | GHD CURLING IRON | GHD STRAIGHTENER: Heat tools are one of those products you don’t want to go cheap on or you’re more likely to damage your hair. Love GHD products and these hot air brushes are AMAZING if you haven’t tried them yet!

LIVING PROOF TEXTURE SPRAY & DRY SHAMPOO: Texture spray is my #1 fave product when I’m trying to go full volume. Another great brand included in the Fall Amazon Prime Day Sale.

ANASTASIA BROW PENCIL: Another cult favorite on sale!

STILA EYELINER: For those bold winged liner looks this fall.

ELEMIS CLEANSER & ELEMIS ELIXIR & ELEMIS CLEANSING BALM: One of my long-time fave beauty brands – these are 3 of my favorite products by them.

VITAMIN C: Heard amazing things about this brand! Quality Vitamin C can get $$ so it’s a great time to save.

FACIAL CLEANSING DEVICE: Love this for a deep clean.

LANIEGE LIP BALM & LANIEGE LIP MASK: My favorite lip mask! Great stocking stuffer too.

BLACK TRENCH – I’m predicting trenches will be the biggest fall layer trend this year and I’m so hear for it. This one comes in 4 pretty sizes. I would size up for a slightly oversized fit.

GHD CURLING IRON – If it’s time to trade in your old curling iron, this brand is amazing at hair tools.

WALMART MEMBERSHIP | CONVERSE | HAIR CLIP | DENIM JACKET (SIMILAR)

We all know gas prices are crazy right now. So I’m all about savings where I can! With 4 kids, we have a big SUV and carpooling them all over town adds up, but did you know that a lot of Walmart locations also have gas stations? I knew that Walmart had gas stations but I didn’t realize that with your Walmart+ membership it actually works at a bunch of other gas stations too (over 14k stations nationwide). You can save up to $.10 a gallon depending on which station you’re at which basically pays for your membership after a month or two if your a carpool mom like me or taking any summer roadtrips 🙂

It’s super easy to use. On the Walmart app you can pull up a map and it shows you all the gas stations by you that are eligible for the discount, then scan your barcode at the pump, and wala your saving $$! I was already using Walmart+ for free grocery delivery, so I was excited about the fuel benefit now too!

Back to School Shopping

I seriously can’t believe it is already time to be thinking about back to school for the kids! Where did time go?? I always get so excited for back to school shopping, even as a kid I always looked forward to picking out cute pens, notebooks and markers 🥰 I did one run to Walmart and got a haul of essentials for the kids. They have SO much stuff under a $1. It was such a good deal.

My family is so competitive and we love turning everything into a game haha! So I didn’t tell the kids the prices of the school supplies, and we had them order the under $1 school supplies in order from least to most expensive. It was so funny to watch…check out my Instagram to see who won! 😉

I’m amazed how cute school supplies are these days. How fun are those little erasers?! (I got the smaller pack for a $1 in store!) And the shark pencil holder Beckam picked out cracks me up. I love how each kid can kind of choose their supplies to match their styles and personalities! Some of my favorite fun speciality items we found were: scented glue sticks, colors of kindness markers, and scented gel pens.

Some of the best Under $1 supplies we found were: scissors, markers, crayons, notebook & glue sticks.

While I was getting their school supplies, I found some cute shorts and tops for the boys. They have both grown so much this summer – I grabbed a couple pairs of athletic shorts. These are like a nylon material so super light weight, some cargo shorts, and then some cotton shorts with zip pockets. My boys love anything with lots of pockets, (I always find lots of random treasures when I’m doing laundry haha)! Every piece was under $15!

5 Hacks for Pulling Off The Ultimate 4th Of July Party

4th of July has always been one of my favorite holidays. We go up to my family’s cabin at the lake in Montana every year with my extended family and we’ve made years of memories spending time together, so it’s always been a magical holiday just knowing it will be family time together, keeping up years-long traditions and making new ones. Every year we do a tea party and charcuterie board, this year I wanted to attempt one before we left for Montana with some of our friends and family here- it’s been on my bucket list to do a counter charcuterie board (savory and sweet!), so we went all out with festive drinks, and a s’mores bar.

Here are some of the best hacks I found for pulling off the ultimate 4th of July party. Don’t feel like you need to incorporate all of them! Even just adding 1 or 2 will add a fun, festive touch to your holiday weekend.

DETAILS: RED CROPPED TANK (under $30 – S) | DENIM (under $40 – size 25) | STAR BOWLS

Hack #1: Color-Coordinated Cuisine

To create a festive spread, I knew I wanted to stick to a red-white-and-blue color-scheme for all the snacks. It made it so much easier to make everything flow together and stick to the festive 4th of July theme. I went to Sam’s Club and knew the fruit would be easy with all the red and blue berries, but I was surprised at how many other red/white/blue snacks and candies they had for the upcoming holiday – especially when it comes to the ‘sweets’ spread which I’ll share later. 😉

Hack #2: It’s All In The Details

I’m always a sucker for the details at any event I attend, so I knew I wanted to include some cute, festive details wherever I could. Try using mini cookie-cutters to spell out words in watermelon or cheese. We also used the star cookie cutters from this set for the cheese and sprinkled them throughout the 4th of July charcuterie. I had a local company from Utah help me and they made the most beautiful salami roses! My aunt actually tried to teach me a couple years ago at the lake, just use the rim of a glass and stagger them while layering them around the rim to get that perfect round shape.

Hack #3: Sparklers, But Sweet

We made some fruit sparklers for the kids out of watermelon stars and blueberries for some healthy treat options. They look so cute on their own but we also added to the red-white-and-blue drinks we made for an added festive touch.

Hack #4: Let the Festivities Flow

DETAILS: GLASSES

Whether kid-friendly or adult beverages, drinks are a great excuse to go big for the holiday. We set up a drink table for the kids where they got to assemble their own drinks. I set out red, white, and blue Gatorade and Sprite for the base and then set out Kool-aid ice cubes, cotton candy, popsicles, licorice straws, and fresh fruits so they could get creative.

Hack #5: Don’t Skimp On The Sweets

My kids would eat candy all day every day if I let them so they were in heaven when they saw this full candy spread AND the decadent s’mores bar. I’m glad my affinity for going over the top with these sort of things won me some points. 😉 They kept saying it was the best 4thof July spread ever. 😂 We did a candy charcuterie board with all the red, white, and blue finds from Sam’s Club and was so simple to put together. We also did a s’mores bar for our new fire pit area and did a mix of different chocolates – milk chocolate, cookies and cream, Reese’s, Andes mints, and more. The dessert boards were such a cute addition and were super popular with the whole fam!

I picked out some splurge-worthy Father’s Day gift ideas too. I loved the idea of a pizza oven for the backyard – would be such a fun activity for the kids to do with Cody. I am also obsessed with the idea of this floating golf turf! We don’t really golf but I feel like all of my friends husbands do, and even though we don’t really know what we’re doing I could see us having hours of fun getting competitive with this at the pool or lake. Since Cody likes to workout everyday, I thought these items like the handheld massage gun for muscle soreness and this blender & hydration set are perfect since he always makes a protein shake right after. Happy Monday! Summer is officially here with the kids out of school now and all the warm days we’ve been having. I’ve been pulling out some of my favorite pieces from last summer and also found a few new ones I’m loving for the season, so I wanted to share some of my most-loved and also some of you guys’ most loved that are were the best sellers. These Amazon cloud slides are easily one of my most-loved and most worn sandals during the summer. The brand linked above is my favorite listing for these sandals – I’ve tried other brands before and haven’t loved the quality and color as much. These sandals are under $25 and come in tons of colors!

I’m loving this cute neon floral bikini from Amazon (under $25), I ordered the medium and the top is easily adjustable with the tie back. They also have a high-waisted version of the print here.

A most-loved item each summer are these Amazon sunnies are an amazing designer lookalike and are under $15! The oversized fit is so cute and the quality of them is great. They come in other colors and prints too.

I found these jelly sandals for our most recent Florida trip – I got the color rose dust and they run true to size. They also come in other cute colors and are perfect for the pool and beach this summer as well as everyday sandals.

I can easily understand why this white button down shirt is one of May’s most-loved pieces…it’s such a summer staple! I have this one (under $25) and wearing the size XL. It’s one of my go-to coverups when I go to the pool or the beach when we are on vacation. It fits Cody too so it’s one of those pieces that do double duty – especially great when we’re traveling.

Another vacation and summer staple is this mesh tote beach bag from amazon. It comes in tons of colors and is currently on sale right now for under $15!

I’m loving the longer “dad” fit shorts right now which is slightly oversized and high-waisted. So cute with crop tops or even swimsuits as a coverup. This pair is under $50 and comes in multiple washes.

Lovee this decorative marble chain I found on amazon for under $60! I’m so impressed with the quality of it and there’s tons of ways you can style these. I styled it on top of some of our coffee table books on our entryway table.

My first job when I was 15 was at Lady Foot Locker I learned this hack and kept it up ever since. I always spray my new shoes now, especially with lighter colors or new sandals, etc. Total game changer! There are so many other uses for this Scotchguard Protective Spray too – I also use it on my couches to keep them cleaner for longer.

Found these cute smiley face sandals for Ollie to wear this summer. They come in tons of colors (I got the black and yellow for him.) They are under $25!

Hi guys! We just got back from our family trip to Florida – it was so nice to spend time with our family and the kids. We spent a week there and I wanted to show you guys all the outfits I packed for the beach and dinners, etc.

I’m all about bright colors right now and I recently found this oversized pink button down shirt on Amazon for under $30 (size XL.) I love the fit and It can be worn alone over swimsuits or like I styled it here with these longer length denim shorts (size S.) Also recently got this mesh Marc Jacobs tote bag, I love the bright color for summer!

I’m obsessed with this sheer sleeve corset top (I have it in blue and white!) I packed the bright blue for our trip to go with these denim shorts – I’m super into the longer “dad” fit shorts right now and this pair is under $30 and comes in multiple washes. I’ve had these Stuart Weitzman pearl slides for 3 summers now and they are still my most-worn sandal! They pair well with so many looks and come in other colors as well. I found this similar and more affordable pair for under $15 here.

Found this cute white sundress (under $25) to wear to the pool and the beach. It’s definitely more sheer so I found it best to wear over swimsuits. This mesh tote bag is the best beach bag – it’s big enough to fit all our stuff for the day and is under $20! It comes in tons of other colors as well and has become a staple to pack when we go on vacation.

Packed this cute neon floral bikini from Amazon (under $25), I ordered the medium and the top is easily adjustable with the tie back. They also have a high-waisted version of the print here. These green shorts are from Abercrombie and under $50! They actually have a matching button down shirt for a set but I wanted to mix and match them with the bright pink one I have.

I wanted a couple fancier items for dinners out and to take some pictures by the beach – I love how bright this teal 2 piece skirt and crop top set is and I kept the rest of the look simple with pearl slides and this micro Chanel purse.

I also got this long summer dress for the trip – I’m super into the mixed floral prints and there’s a slight shimmer to the dress thats so pretty when it hits the light. I went simple with the accessories for this one with these transparent heels and this nude YSL micro bag.

This dress is one of my favorite brands Hemant and Nandita – I love the one-shoulder neckline and floral print. You can easily dress it up or down with heels or sandals. What I Wore: Weekly Round Up

Happy Monday guys!! I’ve been wanting to get back into the swing of posting my daily looks here so I decided to start posting a weekly recap roundup of my outfits from the week before. If you want links a little faster, I always try to add to my LTK so you can shop directly there, but I’ll also be compiling them here along with sizing info, what I love about it, and any other info to try to answer questions you guys might have. Last week was a fun mix of loungewear and getting dressed up so it’s a true mix of some of my favorite pieces recently, from mini skirts to sweats. 💕

GREEN SWEATER – WEARING SIZE XL

This is an amazing dupe for the Free People sweaters – I have it in a few colors and it’s become one of my favorites for lounging around the house, packing on beach trips for an extra layer for chilly nights, or just layering throughout the spring. I sized up a ton because I love it super oversized but I’ve gotten some DMs saying it was too baggy for some of you guys when you sized up that much – so much size up just one size if you don’t want it too loose.

GREY JOGGERS – WEARING SIZE L

I got these sweats in a couple colors – you can see the black below in a size M so they aren’t quite as baggy as these grey ones. I actually love the silhouette of these – they are super high rise so I love the way they it on the hips. And of course you can’t beat the comfort level of boyfriend sweats. 🙂

SMILEY SLIPPERS – WEARING SIZE 8.5

I pretty much live in slippers around the house so my slipper collection might be slightly above average 🙃 but they are one of the simple pleasures of life I don’t think I’ll ever give up haha. These come in 8 colors and are under $20. If you’re between sizes, I would always suggest sizing up – especially for all things fluffy, faux fur, etc.

CROPPED TANK (WEARING SIZE M)

This tank has a built-in bralette so it makes it super easy to wear out and about – I’ve worn to the gym, just running errands, with jeans – it’s the ultimate tank!

BLACK JOGGERS (WEARING SIZE M)

These are the same sweats as above but one size smaller. Super easy combo for running errands when you don’t feel like getting fully ready for the day.

WHITE PULLOVER (OLD – SIMILAR HERE)

SANDALS

If you don’t own these yet, I don’t know what to tell you – they are like walking on air! Everyone I know who owns a pair says they are the most comfortable sandals they own. Word of warning though, they are kind of like an addictive snack because once you have on pair, you keep decided you need more colors. 😂

TOMMY HILFIGER HAT

Love the color of this hat! Such a cool 90s vibe too.

CHAIN NECKLACE (UNDER $15) & INITIAL NECKLACE (UNDER $15)

I’ve worn this combo of necklaces more than maybe any other necklace. They are both under $15 and I have worn them to bed, in the shower, to the beach, in the pool – never had any tarnishing or issues with them!

GREEN BLOUSE (SIZE SMALL)

Obsessed with the color of this satin top! It’s the perfect way to bring some spring colors to your wardrobe – the off the shoulder and sleeve detail is so good!

BLACK MINI SKIRT (WEARING SIZE SMALL)

Not mad these mini skirts are coming back! So many ways to wear them and pair them – sandals, boots, sneakers, tees, sweaters, tanks. The options are endless!

GLITTER PURSE (UNDER $15)

After eyeing the Cult Gaia version of this bag for a few months, I found this dupe and decided to give it a try since it was only $15 – and I was even more pleasantly surprised when I got it in hand! Great lookalike and love it transition a look for night.

PINK SANDALS

Obsessed with everything about these sandals. As you can tell… because I wore them 3 days in a row haha. They also come in a pretty kelly green color. Surprisingly comfortable too! Which is the only way I could wear them 3 days in a row, let’s be real lol.

CUT-OUT TOP

Loving all the creative cut-outs in tops right now – it gives even the simplest, neutral outfits a step up.

CARGO KHAKI PANTS (WEARING SIZE 26)

I feel like cargo pants are breathing new life into my spring wardrobe. I love how they look with strappy sandals – it’s such a pretty balance between masculine and feminine. And they pair so perfectly with pretty fitted tops for spring, cropped tanks, even basic tees – so many options for an effortlessly cool combo no matter what your style is.

PINK SANDALS

CORSET TOP (UNDER $30 – SIZE 2-4)

This is the ultimate top for spring. It looks super high-end up so I couldn’t believe it was under $30! Comes in multiple colors and the corset silhouette is so flattering. Also love this sleeveless version (last seen here).

BLACK CHINOS (SIZE 28 x 32)

These are actually mens pants – I just sized down to a 28 (usually a size 25-26 in women’s). I’ve been loving the oversized, baggy cargo-pants fit and these seemed like the perfect way to get the same look for less.

BALLOON CARGO JEANS (50% OFF! WEARING SIZE 2)

These jeans (last seen here) were sold out for a minute but I just checked again this weekend when I got some questions on them, and they are restocked and on sale for 50% off! Sizes are going quick but I found it on sale here too in more sizes.

PINK BLAZER (WEARING SIZE L – LAST SEEN HERE)

This is another menswear steal – I was on the hunt for a pink oversized blazer and found this suit set for under $60 and I had to try it. I also got it in green and have worn it multiple times since I got it. (Loved it in this combo for when summer hits.)

Love this cropped sweatshirt! Comes in multiple colors. This brand is quickly becoming one of my go-tos for comfy pullovers and cozy knits. They make some of the cropped zip-ups I’ve shared recently too – tons of cute silhouettes and great price points.

NEON YELLOW SHORTS: (UNDER $25 – WEARING SIZE S)

These are probably the best dupe I’ve found for my FP Way Home shorts! I basically lived in the FP version last summer – these are a little bit better price point and love all the colors. How good is this neon!? Super high waisted and really comfortable.

SNEAKERS

I’ve been wearing Ultraboosts for years now – they are hands down the most comfortable sneaker for the gym or workouts. Obsessed with all the pretty spring colors right now too! Love this orange and pink combo.

NIKE SNEAKERS

Also got these pretty Nikes last week – love the pretty color palette! I feel like new sneakers are the best way to guarantee I keep going to the gym and working out 😂 anyone else?

I found so many affordable Mother’s Day gift ideas on Amazon from home to beauty to fashion items (all under $100.) I’ve had this Apple watch strap for a year and still get tons of questions on it when I wear it. It’s amazing quality and makes me feel like I’m wearing one of my favorite designer watches but I still get all the convenience of having a smart watch. It’s such a versatile activewear set that can go from the gym to a casual everyday outfit. I’ve been loving the matching sets paired with oversized blazers (the perfect layer to help transition between season!) I’m obsessed with this oversized pastel blazer I found on Amazon for under $60! (I also got it in this tan color – I got a large in both for an extra boxy fit.)

I’d been looking for a light blue bag for this season and had been eyeing this Coach bag and was shocked to find it on Amazon. I loved the shape and color of this one. It also comes in other fun colors like green and pink. Such a cute bag for spring and summer!

Our family easter pictures are always one of my favorites of the year – with 6 people, getting a family pic with coordinated outfits can be rare 😂 so I always get excited for our family Easter outfits. I feel like the kids are all finding their own style, this year more than ever, and we are all obsessed with Nike Dunks right now so I thought it would be fun to embrace the color this year, especially with our shoe game. SHOPBOP – One of my favorites when I’m shopping for dresses, and other designer pieces. They are good at their overnight shipping it’s not like 2-3 day processing time like a lot of other retailers. Amazon Toddler Accessories I Can’t Travel Without

One of my favorite things to do is travel as a family. We travel quite a bit for work, and fun, we have tried so many different gadgets I wanted to put a list together of my tried and true favorites. There have been so many amazing travel accessories for kids over the years that make traveling so much easier.

The Doona stroller (stroller/carseat combo) is one of the ultimate baby buys we used every single day when we first had Ollie and the Donna Trike is the equivalent for toddlers. After Ollie outgrew the carseat we graduated to the Doona Trike and we use it all. the. time. It’s a mix between a trike and a stroller and perfect for toddlers, both while traveling or at home running errands, going on walks, etc. It folds down to fit inside of the backpack it comes with so you can easily pack it up and throw it over your shoulder when it’s not being used. It’s super lightweight and a great carry-on size so it’s perfect for flights, road trips, or just every day use. People alwaysss stop and ask us about it. Definitely one toddler accessory that will change the way you travel.

This phone mount has been great for us to prop up our phone for our kids to watch a show in the airport or to turn on Ollie’s shows on the airplane. It clips to the tray table so ollie isn’t always touching it changing it. It’s under $25 and we even use it a to when we aren’t traveling, it’s also great for Ollie when were out and about running errands! The older kids love it too.

These scooter suitcases are genius! They are carry on size for all the kids and can attach and detach from the scooter wheel base and can even fold down into regular wheeler suitcases. It keeps the kids entertained at the airport if we have a long layover, and I love that they have a scooter to cruise around on when we are exploring on vacation. It’s definitely more of a splurge but SO worth it in my opinion. I also love how the kids can use the scooter part alone, so it’s super versatile!

I love wireless headphones for Ollie because he usually will get irritated with the cords getting tangled and taking them on and off becomes a hassle. This kid size pair is under $30 and I love how these are made for kids and has built in hearing protection so the volume can’t go too loud.

When Ollie outgrew the Doona stroller, I missed having such an easy way to travel with a carseat so I was beyond excited when I found this travel car seat. We usually rent a car when we travel and are out driving around and exploring a lot so having a car seat with us is a must but lugging around a big, heavy carseat was a pain. This travel car seat has been a complete game changer! It’s super lightweight and folds up into the carrying bag it comes with.For perspective the car seat weighs 8 lbs and regular car seats average 15-30 lbs. (You can also purchase it without the carrying case here – comes in multiple colors.)

The Cutest Easter Craft For Any Age

Every holiday I look forward to doing a cute craft with the kids. Honestly we love crafts year round, but the holidays always bring out the cutest craft sets and I was instantly obsessed when I found this wooden egg painting kit for Easter! Next thing I knew I was setting up a little craft tablescape to do with the kids– Ollie couldn’t wait to paint some of his eggs 😂 but we saved the other half to paint once Mara, Wes, and Beckam got home that day. I set out a few snacks and treats for the kids and it turned into such a fun afternoon.

The craft kit itself is so perfect for any age. It comes with the cutest egg carton and paint set. Ollie got a little hands on with them and I love how they turned out even as a 2 year old! It makes a great keepsake to remember that age by. The older kids loved it too – it’s so fun to see their art skills and creativity develop. 💜 I also love the idea as an adult if you want a specific color scheme or pattern to decorate for Easter while letting your creativity out at the same time.

Bonus Moms & Blended Families – Part 2

Thanks for all of you guys’ amazing responses and dms after my Part I post about blended families and bonus moms – I was doing a Q&A on stories yesterday and realized I never posted the part 2! I love being able to bring a more open conversation around blended families and motherhood as a bonus mama.

SCHEDULES/LIFESTYLE

Q: Do you get a long with Cody’s ex-wife? Do you guys hang out?

A. Im really grateful we all get a long.

One thing I wished could have been different for me growing up, was that when my parents got divorced they would have been friends (I love both my parents very much and I know no family is perfect, but it was hard at times feeling that tension). They lived across the country from each other, so they didn’t have to see each other much. When I would go to visit my mom I would fly by myself (I don’t know if they still do this, but I started at like 5 or 6 years old and my parents would walk me to the gate and then you sit in back row by flight attendant and do the flight on your own. I actually have a lot of fun memories with super kind flight attendants who would play games and stuff with me. I think this is also part of the reason I learned to become pretty independent at a young age, and traveling alone hasn’t ever really scared me but anyways…), but ya I still always felt that awkward tension whenever they were in the same room. I remember even on my wedding day being worried about making sure both parents felt they got equal attention and love. And maybe that was something I created in my head, but it made me want to make it a priority when we got married that we have a good relationship with Cody’s ex, so that the kids never felt that tension or stress, and so we could all go to the kids events and it not be awkward. Again, this was not an overnight thing, it took years to get to that point. Especially if this is a fresh situation, it will take a lot of time. But as a kid who has been on that side of divorce, that was one thing I really wanted different for our kids.

Time, time, time! I think it all just takes time, but I love talking to their mom about the kids and sharing excitement for the things they are doing, or things they are learning or going through. We all sit by each other at most of the kids games and events, it’s in a good place.

Q. Do you get a say in making all of the decisions about schools and such. How do you deal with that aspect?

A. Long story short, I have no say haha. Cody talks to me about it, but that is one of the hard parts of being a bonus mom, you love your bonus babies and help raise them but in my case I’m not really a decision maker. I mean day to day what we are doing Cody and I decide, but bigger decisions Cody and his ex wife work out together.

Q. As the bonus moms/parents, are you involved in communication to his ex or just Cody?

A. In our situation, Cody and his ex work out details for the most part. Obviously there are times when Cody is still at work or out of town or something so I pick up/drop off the kids, etc. but the majority of communication is between her and Cody. We recently started a group text for sports and school scheduling and sometimes share pictures of the kids from school or sports too, but most scheduling goes through them.

Q. How do you handle frustration with your step kids’ schedule?

A. One thing that took time for me to realize and understand is that when you’re a step parent (not always the case, but at least in my situation) even if you all get along, at the end of the day you have little say over holidays, school schedules, really just plans in general. For me, somebody who likes to plan ahead and be in control, it’s sometimes hard. For example, when we were trying to plan a trip and I would ask Cody if he had texted the kids’ mom to make sure certain days work and I would want immediate answers for things 😂 and he’s like I haven’t talked to her yet, and I’m all well call right now, what’s the hold up 😂😂 I eventually realized that 1) sometimes you don’t get immediate answers because she has a life too obviously and you can’t expect immediate responses all the time and 2) things take longer to coordinate and plan than it would with your own kids, so you have to plan ahead a little further.

Q. Do you have full custody? How often and how long do your bonus kids stay with you?

A. We have joint custody so it alters. Right now, every other week we have them for Thursday/Friday, and then the next week 4 days Thursday-Sunday.

Q. Would you ever travel without the bonus kids?

A. I think our situation is a little different because we LOVE to travel and also travel quite a bit for work, but we always make sure to plan all our “big trips” when we can go together as a family. For example we usually do a big 2 week trip every summer and we always do that with all the kids. (One exception is like spring break – we alter years with their mom for spring break so if Mara and Wes are with their mom those days, we will still take Beckam and Ollie on a spring break trip). If your family typically only goes on 1 or 2 trips a year, I would for sure try to make it work to include everyone. We have so much fun when we travel with all the kids and Beckam and Ollie love being with Mara and Wes as much as we do, so we wish we could always travel together but it doesn’t always work out that way. That’s another thing you realize after you have kids of your own- both parents want as much time as they can with their kids. If it’s a challenge to get additional days or switch schedules for trips, try to have perspective and realize their other parent wants to hang out with them as much as possible too. Not saying it never sucks or their aren’t still disappointed parties, but its kind of an “it is what it is” situation. But honestly it always feels like something is missing when we travel with out them.

Q. Do they go school 30 minutes away? How does that work?

A. They used to live 10 minutes away from us for like 8 years and recently they moved a couple towns away. I’m so thankful they are still within driving distance because for me growing up, that wasn’t the case, so I’m just grateful we still get to see them so much. But it has definitely made it a little more challenging, especially now that they are in multiple sports, and Mara and Wes are in two different schools (junior high and elementary) they go at different times. Everyone has different practices and schedules after school, so it gets busy but we are glad they are still close.

Q. Are they open to talking about things they do with their mom around you?

A. I feel like they are super open with us, but I guess I wouldn’t actually know how much they are choosing to share. I know as a kid, sometimes I would feel nervous telling the other parent what I was doing when I was with my other parent (even now sometimes, actually haha) because I didn’t want to make the other parent feel bad, so I hope Mara and Wes don’t feel that way but also I guess I can’t know 100% for sure since we aren’t with them 24/7.

Q. How do you split up firsts or special times with their mom and you guys?

We haven’t had a lot of firsts where we can’t both show up somewhere to support them. For their first time to Disney, we did ask the kids’ mom if we could take them but other than that, there haven’t been a lot of times when we need to split up firsts.

Q. How do you guys handle holidays/birthdays?

It’s kind of changed over the years. We always split Christmas – I know thats not as popular. I think a lot of people do every other Christmas. Thanksgiving and Spring Break we alternate every year. Sometimes Easter falls over Spring Break, etc. Birthdays have changed – sometimes we alternate years and sometimes we stick to the schedule. When they were younger, one person would get them the night before and half of their birthday, and then the other would get the other half of the day and the night. At first I think everyone was hypersensitive and micromanaging time and things have relaxed since then. I would get in the mentality of trying to make sure everything was ‘fair’. But in a blended family, it’s impossible to make everything 100% fair.

We would also have traditions that we do every year with the kids, like carving pumpkins and decorating gingerbread houses. And we’ll wait to do those traditions until we have Mara and Wes with us so we can do it all together as a family. I think it makes the holidays feel more special and we’re even more intentional about our time together during those times.

SUPPORT:

Q. Do you feel you need to know other bonus moms for support? I don’t have anyone in my life.

A. I know like one or two other bonus moms but now that I’m thinking about it I don’t know if I’ve ever really talked to them a ton about it. My step mom is and I’ve talked to her of course 🙂 We have 2 step dads within our extended family, but otherwise I feel like my physical circle of bonus moms is pretty small. If you’re joining an online group of other blended families, I would look for one that’s goal is a positive family environment – there are so many that can become super negative and that energy will just detract. But I think bonus moms can be a great support for each other.

DISCIPLINE/PARENTING FOR BLENDED FAMILIES:

Q. Did you do any discipline when they were younger?

A. Yes, but nothing major.

Q. How do you not step on any toes/do you feel like you can discipline them? Do you ever put boundaries or is it Cody’s ‘job’?

A. I never want Mara and Wes to feel like they get treated differently, so we try to say consistent through everything and that includes with disciplining and rules. For example: If they make a mess in the living room with Beckam, I wouldn’t only make Beckam clean it. And if they don’t listen, which they are kids and sometimes they don’t haha, they will get a different chore. But I do that exact thing for all the kids.

There are 10000% times I will say to Cody though, will you be the enforcer this time, I don’t want them to hate me. And sometimes he will, and other times he’s like you are still a mom to them, they love you and it’s ok for them to have consequences. I think he gages my mood haha. I’ve been in their life over 10 years, and know they love me, but sometimes still worry “what if they think I’m the evil step mom!” So I think you gage what feels most natural and comfortable for you.

Q. Do you give your bonus kids chores?

A. 100%, but all of the kids have weekly chores (– one thing Cody and I both feel strongly about is teaching our kids work ethic, so that goes for all the kids obviously). For us it just wouldn’t make sense if only Beckam and Ollie were doing weekly chores and Mara and Wes just sat on the couch. We are a family and we all have responsibilities.

Do I ever feel guilty about it? There are some times when it’s the last hour or two before Mara and Wes go back to their mom’s house and Cody tells them they need to clean up a mess and pick up the room, and I tell him they only have 1 hour left and to let them just have fun. He says no, they are still our kids they need take care of their responsibilities, which is really what we would do with Beckam and Ollie. So the times when I am a little more lax about chores or picking up after themselves is before they leave, but during the regular day to day, they do the same things my kids do. (And Cody is really good about being consistent no matter the circumstances.)

Ok that wraps up this post! A lot of you have questions or advice about dealing with biological moms or establishing a bond with your bonus babies – I’m really want to be an open book and share as much as I can, so I’ll save that for the next few posts, including tips for bonus moms and tips for bio moms since I got a few questions from you guys too ❤️ I’ve loved hearing from you all about your own blended families and how much you love your bonus babies!

Hi guys! I don’t know about you, but I am SO ready for spring! I’ve been posting some of my recent spring finds and what I’ve ordered and wanted to share last months most loved aka best-sellers. From travel favorites, swimwear, home organization, and everyday basics here is a roundup of February’s top 10.

1. GREY SWEATPANTS (under $30 – size M)

My favorite sweatpants that have carried from winter into spring! They are under $30 and I have them in multiple colors. I sized up to medium for a slightly looser fit. These sweats have been a best-seller month after month!

2. AFFIRMATIONS WALL ART (under $10)

Recently purchased this affirmations wall art from Etsy for our office and I love it! I’m super into green right now and love how it adds a subtle pop of color to our mostly neutral office decor. I’m so glad it’s been a best-seller and you guys loved it so much too. It was under $10 and I bought the digital version and had it printed out, so simple!

3. BLACK BIKINI (under $30 – size S)

Recently got this black bikini for our Mexico trip and love it so much, I also have it in brown. The top has an underwire so it has good support and love the one shoulder detail. It’s under $30 and I’m wearing the size small here.

4. FRUIT/VEGGIE DRAWERS (set of 2 under $40)

At the start of the new year one of my goals was to organize our fridge so I found these clear fridge drawers to store washed fruits and veggies so the kids could have some healthier snack options available. A set of two is under $40 and so easy to install it takes like 15 seconds!

5. BLACK CROP TOP SET (under $25 – size S)

This black tie top comes in a set with matching shorts for under $25 and I love how y0u can mix and match the pieces. I wore the top with jeans on our trip to Hawaii – it’s super comfy and I’m wearing the size small here. I’ll definitely be wearing it a ton this summer!

6. SCOOTER LUGGAGE

These scooter suitcases were such a good find! They keep the kids entertained at the airport if we have a long layover and help make the whole traveling process more fun for them. The suitcase part can attach and detach from the scooter wheel base and can even fold down into regular wheeler suitcase. It’s definitely a splurge but I love how the kids can use the scooter part alone too when we’re back home.

7. GREEN OVERSIZED SWEATER (under $30 – size L)

This sweater has been an all time favorite and best-seller, I’ve shared the white version of this oversized sweater a ton and wanted to get a new color of it for spring. I love this green color so much! I’m wearing size large here – it’s super cute with jeans and plan on wearing it with denim shorts too when summer rolls around. It comes in a ton of other colors too and I recently ordered the blue.

8. LEVI DENIM JEANS (on sale for under $100 – size 26)

Sale alert! I wear these Levi jeans all the time and right now they are currently on sale for under $100. I love the looser fit and bluer wash and are super comfy for everyday wear. I sized up and purchased the 26 in these but if you don’t want as loose of a fit I would go with your regular size.

9. TAN AIR JORDANS

I’m obsessed with these neutral Air Jordans. I wear them with loungewear and dressier outfits – they look cute with so many outfits! Definitely one of my favorite purchases from this year.

10. ANNIE BING SWEATSHIRT

I thought this graphic sweatshirt was so cute when I saw it, I’ll wear it with jeans or over workout sets to go run errands – it’s super cozy! If you want a more oversized fit I would order a couple sizes up (wearing size small here.)

3 Spring Staples This Season is Begging For

Spring fever and spring fashion have me all 🤩 for the upcoming season! I feel like spring style is always a breath of fresh air after a long winter of neutrals and thick layers so I get a rush every time spring styles hit the shelves (or sites :). Here are 3 spring staples as we roll into 2022 spring fashion that will be the star of the show this season:

CLEAN DENIM (WEARING SIZE 25 IN THIS PAIR)

Non-distressed denim. I’m loving the clean silhouettes. It opens endless doors for dressing up your denim with a feminine blouse (obsessed with the cut, color, pretty much everything about this one) or a more tailored top. But you can dress them down with a cropped tee and sneakers for casual cool look that still looks pulled together.

A BRIGHT SHOE

We are seeing so much color this season. Shoes are the easiest way to incorporate color into your look if you’re more of a neutral lover. This pretty shade of green has me hooked. Bold shoes will be one of the biggest spring staples this season.

A TEXTURED BLAZER (WEARING SIZE 10)

One of my favorite spring staples that I end up wearing all year long is a textured blazer. The styling opportunities are endless: with a pretty spring blouse and denim as we transition between seasons, belted with a pair of biker shorts and tall boots, or over a slip dress for evening out. It all comes down to the texture for me, especially in lighter tones for spring so you can appreciate the detail. Love the color and texture of this one – such amazing quality that can carry all your favorite looks into spring and beyond.
