Book Review: "The Power of Your Subconscious Mind"

"The Power of Your Subconscious Mind" by Joseph Murphy is an amazing book! It captured my attention and I instantly began to put in place the advice and recommendations suggested by the author.

This reading made me aware of the detrimental thoughts that continued to come against my hard work and dreams. I was able to grab hold of this destructive pattern in my thinking and begin to restructure my thoughts. I was suggesting to myself limiting messages that hindered my performance and happiness.

I believe in the ability of this book to change lives, but I do not completely agree with the theology behind the theory. Dr. Joseph Murphy was heavily influenced by Ernst Holmes, founder of scientific religion and author of "The Science of Mind." His teachings are amazing but lack a balance between good and evil and the power of God. The power of a person's circumstance is made out to be that of the individual. I believe God is more personal with us. I do however believe God created universal laws.

Dr. Murphy focuses on the universal laws God has created. These laws are impersonal and can be used to benefit or destroy a person. It is up to the individual, and ignorance will not stop the effects of the laws from working for or against your life. The most crucial law, is the law of the subconscious mind.

It works like a mirror. What ever is placed in front of it, it will reflect. In other words, if you want to live a good, prosperous and happy life, you must think upon good, harmonious and noble things. He believes the renewal of a person's mind is the key to renewing their entire life.

The book is written on a 6th or 7th grade level and begins with an explanation of how the book can work miracles. It then goes on to explain how your mind works and the different areas that are effected by the subconscious. It goes from the general to the specific in how to use the law of the subconscious mind to heal your life.

This book is a classic and has been reprinted by different publishers. It was originally published in 1963.

I highly recommend reading this book. I have seen results in my life and I believe I am more Empowered because I read it.

I love it! My order arrived today and I immediately went to work. I ordered a Frieling- Acrylic Ice Crusher from csnstores.com. They asked me to do a review of the product of my choosing.

My entire experience with csnstores.com was very good. I ordered through a customer service representative via telephone. My call we taken out of que in about 8 minutes. The wait was not so bad, considering it was a Friday evening. I have to admit I gave the representative a bit of a hard time to see how she would handle the pressure. The customer service representative remained professional throughout the entire call. My ice crusher arrived 5 days later.

It was packaged very nicely. Bubble wrap and all. My ice crusher was clean and unmistakable brand new!

My plan is to make nutritious health food drinks poured over crushed ice. I also just like eating ice! My ice was perfectly crushed, but my first drink was a Jones Apple Soda. My next drink will be much better for me.

Csnstores.com Product Review- Part 1

I have been spending a lot of time in the kitchen cooking healthy meals. I have felt very close to memories of my mom because she was an excellent cook. Alzheimer's took away her ability to cook years before she died and I forgot how much I loved being around her when she cooked. The business of work and school, did not leave time for me to cook. The meals I did prepare were quick and the amazing cooking experience escaped me. I saw some really amazing counter height stools on csnstores.com, I was reminded of sitting in my mom's kitchen and the stools we sat on as she cooked.

Memories of her incredible homemaking skills surround me when I smell the aroma of food throughout my home. My life is centering around home much more. While I look for employment I have had an opportunity to reconnect with my inner homemaker. My mom is closest when I am taking care of home and the people inside. She would have loved shopping online at csnstores.com.

I got an irresistible offer to do a review for csnstores.com. I had to hold on to my credit card because they have everything you can imagine. I was very impressed with their large selection of kitchen items. I find myself needing special cooking tools to make the fun recipes I have been discovering. I really like health drinks, smoothies and just plain ice chips. That is why I have decided to review a really great and inexpensive kitchen appliance from www.csnstores.com. I will let you know what I ordered when I do my review.

I can not wait for my treasure to arrive, I hope it lives up to my expectations

Cleaning an Oven with Easy-Off Oven Cleaner

I recently cleaned my oven Easy-Off Oven Cleaner and it did an amazing job! I wanted to clean my oven for the new broiler pan and rack I purchased. Now I feel like I have a whole new range.

I sprayed my oven and broiler before I went to bed and whipped it clean in the morning. As a final touch I whipped my oven down with an SOS pad and now it is spotless.

The best part of using Easy-Off was the smell. There were not real heavyfumes. I used the fume free formula and I was happy with the results.

I recommend using Easy-Off Oven Cleaner, Fume Free to clean your oven!

Here are some photos of the finished product. I did not plan on doing this review or I would have taken before photos. But the product worked so well, I had to share my experience! I did this review of my own free will, I was not approached by the manufacturer.

Sandra Bullock is All about Steve- Movie Review

Comcast OnDemand does it again! They have some amazing free movies running on HBO OnDemand. One of these must see movies is All About Steve, it is playing until 1/3/2011. It stars Sandra Bullock, Bradley Cooper, Thomas Haden Church and Ken Jeong. It is a comedy that tells the story of the ultimate nerd finding her place in the world.

Sandra Bullock rocks in All About Steve! She does an amazing job portraying a misunderstood smart girl named Mary Horowitz. Horowitz creates crossword puzzles for a living and lives with her parents. People find it difficult to relate Mary, as her love of words and unusually high IQ, make it almost impossible to connect with her.

The story begins to develop when Mary falls for Steve. She thinks his statement "I wish you could be there" is sincere and she follows him around the nation. Steve, played by Bradley Cooper, is afraid that Mary is a psychotic stalker and is terribly frightened by her affections. His hilarious antics to get rid of her are constantly sabotaged by his co-worker Hartman Hughes.

Through Mary's pursuit for Steve she meets friends that really care for her. Their devotion helps Mary Horowitz accept herself and forget about Steve. Empowered Peace is loving who you are, no matter how different you might be!

Life is Better When it is "Bittersweet"- Book Review

Bittersweet is the second book written by author Shauna Niequist. Ms. Niequist takes readers through a reflective journey of a transitional season in her life. Shauna attempts to be true to her feelings, conscious and soul in her heartfelt words chipped from the pain of her past.

Each chapter is a non-sequential memoir of events that occurred during her transitional phase. Some of the chapters seem to be developed from the wisdom cultivated by the writing of Bittersweet.

Shauna Niequist's words are certainly deeply personal, but at times the flow of the book is disjointed. She discusses the challenges of intimate family and friend relationships, but the short chapters are too brief to give a through analysis of the story. I think I would have better enjoyed a continuous chronological autobiography of this period in her life. However, Bittersweet reads as a wonderful devotional. It is easy to relate to her stories and feel a connection to her cathartic experiences.

It was difficult for me to complete this book, but at times it gripped my heart and made me want to be at her dinner parties. The reading was bittersweet, just like the title.

Leave Her to Heaven, or She Will Kill You on Her Way to Hell

Comcast OnDemand free movie: Leave Her to Heaven is a 1945 classic. This is now playing on Comcast OnDemand and is a Technicolor delight. Originally released in black and white, this Technicolor 110 minute feature looks superb.

Turner Classic Movies selected this classic thriller. The movie tells the story of a Jealous woman named Ellen Berent Harland and the affects of her life-sucking love. Ellen's need to possess the people she loves drives her to carry out cruel and violent acts. Ellen, the main character, is played by actress Gene Tierney and the supporting cast submit themselves to her presence making the suspense an emotional ride. Vincent Price is cast as her jilted lover, Russell Quinton. It was hard for me not to see him as the creep in all the horror films. I was glad his appearances were fairly brief, but very intricate to the story. His character Russell displays the yearning of a love unfulfilled when Ellen obsesses over a person, who is not you.

Cornel Wilde, Jeanne Crain, Mary Philips and Darryl Hickman are the remainder of the supporting cast. Cornel Wilde plays Richard Harland, Ellen's husband. Jeanne Crain plays Ruth Berent, Ellen's sister and Mary Philips is Ellen's mother, Mrs. Berent. Darryl Hickman plays Richard's sick teenage brother, Danny Harland.

Each character is placed against Ellen's psychotic behavior to illustrate her love and her hate. Ellen attaches herself to Richard Harland because he reminds her of her dead father, the first fatal victim of her love. Ellen's family along with Richard's work and family are perceived to be interferences by Ellen and she systematically tries to remove each one. Her tactics are chilling and downright dirty!

Just when you think the movie is over Ellen has her final hurrah. She continues to torture her family from a very far distance. One of the opening scenes is below, it is when Ellen and Richard meet. The movie begins rather slow, but builds momentum as the movie unfolds.

If you like classic movies this would be a decent one to catch while it is free OnDemand with Comcast. If you do not like classics, why don't you give this a try. The costumes are outstanding, the Technicolor is awesome and the sets are classic Hollywood. This is a good story.

Mental illness is a barrier to spiritual well being. Many people suffer from unhealthy infatuations that cause suffering for themselves and everyone in their circle.

I give the movie 3 out of 5 stars or a C+

Comcast OnDemand Free Movies: Perfect on a Tight Budget!

Movie Review: Dirty Work, is movie about finding your purpose in life with a lot of laughs along the way. This movie is rated PG 13 but has strong language and sexual content WITHOUT nudity. (Warning this movie can be offensive with the language).

Norm MacDonald and Artie Lange team up in the hilarious 1998 movie, Dirty Work. This movie has all of your favorite comedians past and present. Cameo appearances are made by: Adam Sandler, Gary Coleman, Chris Farley, John Goodman and Rebecca Romijn just to name a few. Don Rickles, Chevy Chase and Chris McDonald round out the cast of a movie with slap stick comedy, easy jokes and just plain silliness.

Mitch Weaver, played by Norm MacDonald is a lazy, middle aged man living a life without meaning. He goes from one job to the next and only seems to find admiration from his even less fortunate best friend Sam. The only thing Mitch has to direct his life is the motto "don't take crap from anybody." And even these words of wisdom don't seem to be working for him, as he is continually dumped on by his bosses and girlfriends.

Mitch finally realizes the only thing he is good at is getting revenge! This epiphany changes the course of Mitch's life and he starts to take action. Along the way to happiness, Mitch learns some valuable life lessons to direct his philosophy of life. He learns that integrity and good intentions are the only way to honor his talent and bring about good results.

Fishy Business

This movie teaches the essence of spiritual healthcare with humor. Spiritual care is about developing your God given talents and living a life of meaning guided by your purpose. "Dirty Work" has funny and corny subplots throughout the course of the movie. It will keep you engaged and put a smile on you face, if not bring tears of laughter to your eyes.

You face many challenges in life and it can be easy to forget to laugh. Today's spiritual nugget is simply to laugh. Enjoy the movie and let me know what you think.
