Lots of issues and tons of dysfunctional situations...all wrapped up in lovely writing...I read way into the night...could not stop reading it. And the author is working on another book with these same characters...I can't stand it!<br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=13/05/22/781.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/13/05/22/s_781.jpg' border='0' width='300' height='300' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br />Opting for one of my summer books today...this one...a reunion at the New Jersey shore for three women and all of their issues...so far it's really good!<br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=13/05/22/782.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/13/05/22/s_782.jpg' border='0' width='300' height='300' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br />Mildly hooked on this...it's a nice break every once in a while...I use it as a reward only. They loved it so much that they didn't want anyone new to move in. Most houses had a water view, the houses were neat lovely old bungalows with lots of built ins and woodwork and big deep bathtubs. There was a clubhouse and beach and walking trails...everything any one would ever want. There was fishing, fires, marshmallow toasting...but as the residents aged they had to deal with illness, death and their children trying to get them to move to retirement places. The residents were totally outraged when someone new bought a house that they didn't even now was for sale...to them this was a travesty! This book was both serious and funny at the same time. Home Depot is not my favorite place to spend time. Sigh!<br /><br />Den wants to do "stuff" today...but I am not in a doing stuff mood...I wanted to go to a plant store and get flowers...but it is misty raining out there...so...no flowers!<br /><br />Reading and watching Grimm and Elementary instead!<br /><br />Baked tacos for dinner and fresh raspberries for dessert!<br /><br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=13/05/19/1125.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/13/05/19/s_1125.jpg' border='0' width='252' height='168' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br />My new recipe comes from a blog I found called The Durfee Family Recipe Blog...it is insanely amazing and filled with all kinds of recipes! I am thinking about where to place things way too much...we did buy drawer inserts...today we are finally choosing tile...I am rethinking my industrial shelves, too...I am putting baskets there and organizing my pantry better...so...I think and think and think and then actually change something...and in spite of buying a second round of knobs...we still miscounted and need one more! <br /><br />It's awkward to walk around to the side of the island that you see to put flatware away...so I am rethinking that, too...and Den wants to take all of my stuff down from the top of the cabinets to dust and wash...hmmm...that's a novel thought...<br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=13/05/18/439.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/13/05/18/s_439.jpg' border='0' width='189' height='252' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br />Normally we would be prepping for a jaunt to Maine and all of the places we love...but...I don't feel comfortable leaving Roxie Blue and Lucy Grace home alone with just a catsitter yet...and traveling with two kitties is unimaginable. The plan is we get to go and they stay home and they are not lonely because they have each other. So far that's not working...<br /><br />This is the new big heated kitty bed...meant for both girls to share and snuggle and cuddle! Outside clean up and painting and planting and decking and just putting things in order...I am not sure why we added a kitchen update...but we did...<br /><br />I can't tell you what a joy it was to eat a baked potato...last night's dinner...in a real bowl with a real fork...after three long weeks it was as though I saw my stuff for the first time...with new eyes...I love my plates and spoons and bowls...I missed them!<br /><br />Den has literally been away for two weeks...I don't know if this made life easier or worse...<br /><br />Tomorrow we need to get more knobs, pick out the tumbled marble for the wall and get chalk paint for the island. <br /><br />Then stay home and make dinner at home...not sure when I want to go out to dinner again...lol...<br /><br />This is tomorrow night's dinner...this is a Lamb Bolognese from Serious Eats. It was a joyous reading experience. I hated when the book ended...it was that delicious. I don't think it's even out until August. But it's amazing. Everyone in the word should read it. She meets Mitchell, older, wealthy and she believes that they are in love until he tells her he isn't. The best part is that she was just about to tell him she is pregnant. She doesn't tell him...decides to have the baby...and gets a job in a lovely old bookstore called The Owl. The bookstore is owned and run by lots of quirky characters. This book is yummy! Just what I need for my kitchen less next two days!<br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=13/04/30/750.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/13/04/30/s_750.jpg' border='0' width='300' height='300' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br />I finished this yesterday...it was good!
