New Features in LED Membrane Keypads

For some time now, Bopla has been offering a simple way to illuminate keys. By integrating a very small but high-performance LED, and by using a special LED (with hole), we make homogeneous illumination possible with the help of the inlays in our Profiline technology. In contrast to the EL membrane, individual keys can also light up selectively.

Now there are many more opportunities, thanks to the use of a special RGB-LED which also makes it possible for a key to light up in different colours. In addition to classic red, green or blue, a very wide range of mixed colours can be created with the appropriate triggering. This means that it is possible for a single key to display various situations. For example: locked status = red / switched on = green / Bluetooth connection = blue / charging = white, etc.

In recent years, the concepts of design and adaptation of processing a company’s corporate identity have become more and more important in the selection of enclosures. In addition to a wide range of standard enclosures, BOPLA – one of the leading manufacturers in the enclosure industry – offers the opportunity to adapt these standard products in order to satisfy customers’ individual wishes by means of accessory components and/or small processes.These include printing, lacquering and coatings.

Two new sizes have now been added to BOCARD, the successful series of enclosures manufactured by BOPLA Gehäuse Systeme GmbH. The BCD 310 and 400 sizes meet the great demand for an innovative and attractive small plastic cupboard, as frequently requested during many discussions with customers. With these new sizes, the company offers more space for electronics.

BOCARD can now be supplied in five basic sizes, with two bases and up to five different lids for each size. The many combinations and accessories ensure that the enclosure can be used for an extremely wide range of applications.

BOCARD is especially suitable for use in control and instrumentation technology, domestic technology and mobile data processing. All the enclosure parts in this programme can be adapted to meet customers’ individual needs. In addition to the printing of the surfaces and mechanical processing (e.g. for display cut-outs), BOPLA’s service offer includes the design, manufacture and assembly of membrane keypads.

Intertego, BOPLA’s new design-oriented enclosure, was introduced to the market in the winter of 2009, since then it has been extremely popular. The series of aluminium profile enclosures is ideal for coping with a very wide range of applications in the desktop and wall-mounted enclosure sector. In addition, new accessories such as handles and feet also allow the enclosure to be used as a mobile unit for measurement technology and test systems.

In future, thanks to the new accessories, this series of enclosures can be used in even more individual situations and lets users implement almost any application.

The high-quality and innovative design of the aluminium INTERTEGO profile enclosures ensure that it always stands out. Two heights and the latest profile technology which allows for individual dimensions for the width and depth of the enclosure provide plenty of space for fitting electronic equipment.

The enclosure is ideally equipped with regard to electronic screening (EMC), and with just a little upgrading, INTERTEGO can also be converted into a 19″ enclosure. All the enclosure components are designed for easy assembly, which guarantees problem-free handling. A comprehensive range of innovative accessories opens up new fields of applications, and in addition, the enclosures can be adapted to meet customers’ own design ideas.

Of course, the new range provides a large number of processing and service opportunities, all of which can be carried out in-house in Bünde. In addition to mechanical processing and wiring processes, BOPLA’s offer includes different methods of printing and also the creation of individual input units. The insertion and testing of PCBs and the assembly of electronic components round off BOPLA’s standard product programme.

Keypads for Dark Environments

BOPLA, the German manufacturer of enclosures and keypads, now includes back-lit Profiline keypads in its product range. The back-lit Profiline keypads are ideal for use in dark surroundings and are constructed in a similar way to standard Profiline keypads. Of course, back-lit Profiline keypads also benefit from the same distinguishing features of this technology:

raised key element
optimal pressure distribution ensures less wear and tear on the snap dome
optimal finger guidance

Back-lit Profiline technology makes it possible to light up keypads separately. The light passes through a hole in the special snap dome and into the integrated acrylic inlay, where it is dispersed as required. The technology allows the manufacture of large-area keypads and contact elements, and there are almost no limits to customer-specific designs for key shapes and choice of colours.
