Claptrap and Borderlands 2 Love The PC Player

There were a few gripes against the original Borderlands—yes, there were a few—and many of them came from the PC crew. Gearbox noticed and is showing the PC players some love with the second game in the sequel.

The Borderlands developer published a love letter today from mascot Claptrap to the Borderlands 2 PC Player. Between declarations of passion, Claptrap lets us know that the PC version of the upcoming game will include

-an FOV slider

-better menus for PC players that are all mouse clickable

-PC specific user interface

-mappable keybindings for the mouse and keyboard

-and mouse-smoothing options.

PC gamers have long lamented the “console ports” that now overrun their system of choice. Such games are characterized by a design with no consideration given to the vagaries of the PC. Well, Gearbox just gave a darn and PC players (such as myself) can rejoice. Claptrap's full letter is below:

How To Get The Borderlands 2 Pre-Order Bonus

The early bird gets the worm. Assuming you don't like eating worms, the early Borderlands 2 purchaser gets something much, much better.

Gearbox is offering a pretty substantial pack of goodies for those who pre-order the game. The bonus, dubbed the Premiere Club, includes:

-a Golden Key, which unlocks a rare item in the mysterious Sanctuary Loot Chest
-the Vault Hunter's Relic
-and the Gearbox Gunpack, a package of unique Gearbox Golden Guns.

At this point, we don't have any word if Premeire Club membership confers any benefit after the game's release but we'll be sure to share when we get that info.

Everything You Wanted To Know About Borderlands 2...But Were Afraid To Ask

More and more info about Borderlands 2 is starting to trickle out. But with the game more than six months away from release, the info has been scattered and sporadic.

One resource has done a pretty darn good job compiling what's out there. Dubbleutf on the Gearbox forums has launched a massive thread which contains links to every known article about the game. Read, learn and obsess.

The Borderlands 2 Collector's Edition Better Include This

Borderlands 2 To Have Better AI, Diverse Environments And More Guns

In an interview with Kotaku, Gearbox Software's Art Director, Jeramy Cooke talked about how fresh and exciting the sequel will be compared to the original game.

Jeramy Cooke mentioned the game will have an all-new cast of characters but the original characters will make an appearance in the game. They will all be NPCs in Borderlands 2 so don't expect them to be playable.

He also mentioned Borderlands 2 will have more diverse environments. He said the game looked repetitive last time and they will not be "doing this again". Players will be seeing the rest of Pandora so they can expect to see grasslands, volcanic areas and more.

The A.I. in the first Borderlands game wasn't the best as many players exploited its stupidity. Cooke mentioned "the A.I. is totally new from the original game". Gamers should expect a more challenging expereince while playing Borderlands 2.

Lastly he said "there are a lot more guns this time". This comes as great news for Borderlands fans. The more guns, the more mayhem that can be caused!

Borderlands 2 is expected for release sometime next year for the PC, PS3 and Xbox 360.

Original 4 Characters Returning In Borderlands 2

In a demo showcased earlier at PAX, Gearbox Software let hardcore fans know that all 4 of the original characters in Borderlands will make an appearance in Borderlands 2.

Gearbox Software said they will not forget Roland, Brock, Lillith and Mordecai. All of them will appear in the next game however Gearbox Software did not share what roles they will play in Borderlands 2. It appears as if they will be a part of the game's storyline but won't be as playable characters from the sounds of things.

Fans of the original 4 will be happy to know that at least they will appear in Borderlands 2.

New Screenshot And Artwork Released For Borderlands 2

2K Games and Gearbox Software has unveiled new artwork and one new screenshot for Borderlands 2.

The artwork shows the main character who has been dubbed "Brutus" for now. He's a short stubby fellow that has the ability to dual-wield weapons. This is a new feature for Borderlands 2.

The new screenshot released looks very intriguing. It appears as if you'll be facing off against some really huge robots. Neverhtheless, the cel-shaded graphics are still stunning in Borderlands 2 much like it was in the original game.

Livestream The First Gameplay Footage Of Borderlands 2

2K Games has announced that fans will be able to live stream the first ever gameplay footage of Bordelands 2 when it makes its appearance during Gamescom.

Not only will you be able to view the game, but Gearbox Software will also be answering fans' questions about the game during this exclusive presentation.

New Borderlands 2 Images Arrive

A host of new in-game screenshots have been released for Borderlands 2 Borderlands 2 is expected for release in 2012 for the PS3, Xbox 360 and PC.

The new screenshots show how much the graphics have improved over the first game. The cel-shaded look really shines and separates this title from many other games on the market today. It appears as if Borderlands 2 will have all-new characters.
