Tell the Trump Admin: Save Red Wolves!

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) announced a new red wolf management plan that would scale back available habitat by 90 percent and allow adjacent landowners to kill red wolves that wander onto their property. This is a complete retreat from efforts to recover this species and will sentence the species to extinction in the wild. Please sign our petition to Secretary of the Interior Ryan Zinke, urging the Secretary to follow the Endangered Species Act and work to recover this endangered species.

Wildlife trafficking ranks among the most lucrative forms of illegal trade in the world, after human, drug, and weapons trafficking. It is a multi-billion dollar per year criminal enterprise that devastates wildlife populations and has contributed to the decline of many of the world's most iconic species, such as lions, elephants, and rhinoceros. A new bill in the California State senate – the Iconic African Species Protection Act (S.B. 1487) – would prohibit the possession of certain African species (including the elephants, lions, leopards, rhinos, and giraffes), as well as prohibit the possession of any part, product, offspring, or the dead body of these animals within the State of California. Each year, hundreds of thousands of animals suffer in cosmetic testing. These animals are caged and painfully experimented on, all in the name of "beauty." Not only is this practice cruel, it is also unnecessary to produce safe, high-quality products, as cruelty-free companies like our corporate partner, The Body Shop, demonstrate. A new bill in the California State Senate – California Cruelty-Free Cosmetics Act (S.B. 1249) – would make it unlawful for cosmetic manufacturers to sell any cosmetic in California if the final product or any component of the product was knowingly tested on animals after January 1, 2020. California is the world's fifth largest economy and this bill would create enormous economic incentive for cosmetic companies to end animal testing. Click here to learn how you can help!

Tell Congress to Take a Stand against the Sale of Shark Fins!

Each year, some 73 million sharks lose their lives to the shark fin trade, and more than 70% of the 14 most common shark species in the fin trade are considered at high or very high risk of extinction. The Shark Fin Trade Elimination Act (H.R. 1456/S. 793) would prohibit the commercial trade of shark fins within the U.S. Please write to your members of Congress and ask them to support this important legislation!
