The Tomb Within

2010-07-30T23:25:00.000+02:00

U.S. gore legends AUTOPSY have completed the recording of their first tracks since officially reforming last year. "The Tomb Within" was recorded mid-July 2010 at Fantasy Studios with Adam Munoz and sees the original trio of Chris Reifert, Danny Coralles and Eric Cutler joined on bass by Joe Trevisano (ex-ABSCESS).

"The Tomb Within" consists of five new tunes of gore and depravity and will be released on September 13 through Peaceville Records on CD and 12-inch vinyl, with general release set for September 27. Cover art is supplied by renowned fantasy/horror artist Matt Cavotta.

AUTOPSY had previously decided to make an official comeback after working together on two songs for the special 20th-anniversary edition of debut album, "Severed Survival", in late 2008; the band having originally split before the release of its fourth album, "Shitfun", in 1995.

The 12-inch vinyl edition of "The Tomb Within" comes with a free poster of the stunning cover artwork and is limited to just 1,000 numbered copies. The CD edition comes with a special limited postcard for pre-orders.

All pre-orders for the CD edition come with a special limited edition postcard.

The track listing is as follows:

01. The Tomb Within
02. My Corpse Shall Rise
03. Seven Skulls
04. Human Genocide
05. Mutant Village

Commented the band: "As many of you know, for years it has been repeatedly stated that AUTOPSY was over with and done for good. While that was indeed true for a long span of time, it is no longer the case. AUTOPSY has come to the solid realization that the time is now right to resume their mission of gore-soaked death metal brutality and to fulfill this mission with maximum intensity. Make no mistake about it, AUTOPSY is not about reliving the past, basking in nostalgia or riding on efforts from years long gone. The band is hungry to devour fresh minds and souls and has been amassing an arsenal of new and deathly material to unleash upon those who also hunger for such brutality. The surgical instruments are being sharpened and a pure death metal assault of the most horrific order is underway as you read these very words.

"On behalf of the band, thanks goes out to all who relented and simply would not allow this beast to remain in the grave. Your persistence will be met with unspeakable and unapologetic sonic atrocities."

AUTOPSY will be infest European shores in August with two special and exclusive headlining shows, at Germany's Party.San Open Air and Norway's Hole In The Sky festivals.

War Cult Supremacy

2010-07-14T01:36:00.002+02:00

On the second half of the nineties there was a gap which would end up becoming a void in terms of authenticity and savagery regarding the Black Death underground. The hangover of the late eighties and the first part of the last decade of the century, led to an uncertain period of upsetting creative drought which was meant to be broken with a revulsive abomination in terms of audio warfare and mayhem.

The conjunction of the overloaded apocalyptic scope and aberrant conception of R. Förster and J. Read, was translated on the low profile discography of Conqueror whose only album “War Cult Supremacy”, was the bursting flame thrower that set the scene on fire, initiating an unstoppable chain reaction whose echoes survive up to this day. Undoubtedly, it was because of them when and why the term War Metal was moulded by some, while Bestial Black Death was the keyword shaped among others. Despite of definitions and stylistic tags, Conqueror viciously brought into the spotlight the rigors of desecration and inhumaties early envisoned by Blasphemy and the Ross Bay Cult, and carried them one step forward based on their own philosophy of the path of Superion

Down With The Most High unleashes the definitive Conqueror merchandise tribute piece, releasing an ood oversized 21 cm emrbroidered patch, showing the defiant skull of “War Cult Supremacy” on all its elitism. White mate and dark grey thread embroidery over a synthetic leather background, round this one of a kind shield, strictly limited to 100 units.

California is a place

2010-07-08T11:03:00.005+02:00

California is loaded. From Disneyland to farmland, we’ve got Scientology and superstars, Silicon and silicone, crips and bloods. The border. Krumpin’ Clownin’ Jerkin’. The surf and the turf. The boom and the bust. California is humanity run amuck and then packaged, branded and sold. California Cuisine, California Love, California Casual, California Gold, California Girls, and of course, California Dreams. If it exists in the world, it exists here and it does so with pizzaz.

Obviously, we love this stuff. That’s why we’re doing this project. Simply put, California is sensational. And the closer we look the better it gets: words and images, stories and songs, opinions and ideas. This project is ongoing. We hope you like what you see and say so. We plan to post often. So until that day, when we finally float off into the Pacific, California is a place. Stay tuned.
