Now, I have some sympathy for influencers, and then I also have a lack of sympathy in some areas. Part of the blessing of Scanline not paying my bills is, I'm not beholden to audience numbers and such. Bottle Crow's existence was probably a good clue of that. Point is, I can make whatever I want, and also NOT make whatever I want (broadly). An influencer doesn't have that same freedom. The content they produce is in response to trends and demands, and while they absolutely have sway, if they just follow their whims too much odds are they'll be out of business. And so maybe a food influencer makes some recipes or videos they're not proud of. Maybe they just needed to pay the rent that day.

Or maybe they needed to pay the MORTGAGE that day because they're a lot more wealthy than me. Right? That's the thing? Efshay Onjay probably has, like... a house. That he owns. And then goes to a studio do do his little "FOOOD Wishes" lilt. So here's the thing: your recipe is dogshit and you should feel bad. And I'm coming for you. Until I get bored, which will probably happen pretty fast.

"What about it?" Puppey flipped a page. "Things die, Reso. All we need is to be in a position to profit from it."

"Yes, uh... yes. You're... you're exactly right, captain. But I was... I was wondering. They. They say you save strats, right? Like, when Secret loses the International... they say it's because you're saving strategies. For the, uh, Intergalactic."

A cruel smile played across Puppey's face, then faded like it was never there. "They do. They do say that. And?"

Another Bottle Crow episode? Already?! Listen don't get used to it. I mean do because there will still be ANOTHER one this week. When it rains it pours. Cause it's iodized. Like salt. That's what that is referring to, you know. Uniodized salt clumps up in humidity, such as when it's raining, so then your salt shaker won't pour. When you iodize the salt, you add tiny amounts of iodine to it, and this makes it more resilient to humidity. It won't clump, and thus when it rains... the salt will still pour.

Also iodine deficiency is a medical problem, so get iodized salt. It's good for you.

What does it mean to “steal” a spell? After all, when Rubick steals a spell, it’s not like the original caster loses anything. You wouldn’t steal a CAR. Don’t steal a SPELL. Is that it? It’s like online piracy? And in that case… is it like reposting someone else’s art, or is it like torrenting a movie? Are spells copyrighted? Can you sue over spell theft, and if so, do you have to prove it’s the exact same spell, or can you get in trouble for a “similar” spell that’s clearly inspired by another? Anti-Mage predates Queen of Pain, can he sue her for copying Blink? Or is Blink a public domain spell?

I guess I’m saying, Happy Feast of Winterveil.

…Two years later when the Lord’s Pitch was finally re-opened they all returned to the Ancients for their delayed final year. Grimstroke missed having an outlet for his creativity so he began to create less permanent body art using magical inks and an anti-erase spell. His friends loved it, they could indulge in sensuous and provocative tattoos that caught the eye but vanished with a simple spell before censorious teachers or parents could complain. Grimstroke knew the Battlefield of the Ancients had a lot of issues with tattoo art especially after its most recent incarnation in the Meepo Tattoo, but he wouldn’t give up the pleasure it gave him.

Unfortunately when he drew Anti-Mage a beautiful unicorn curving intimately around his torso Magina was so enamoured of it he refused to vanish it before he went home to visit his parents. The resulting furious letters to Diruulth and Radinthul had Grimstroke on the receiving end of an official investigation. Magina’s parents were concerned that the body art was far from benign, “it was obviously infused with more magic than the simple preservation and vanishing spells inherent in the ink” they said…

This intro is a slightly modified version of the Harry Potter fanfic “Ink” by WillowWand49, all credit to them for this writing where all I really changed were proper nouns and pronouns. You can find a link to the fic here if you’re interested: I haven’t really read it myself, I just wanted to have a good goof but still give proper credit to the original artist. Don’t plagiarize, folks!

And lo, IceFrog heard the cry of the people. From his spire he could hear it, the lamentations of all those souls lost trying to go high ground. Players Necro Scythed into the nether, unable to return. The howls of Wyvern pickers, the screams of Lyralei spammers, the weeping of Bane players. He heard their pain, and their sorrow, and for a moment, he felt for them. He wondered, idly, if today was the day. “7.07? Is it time?” He’d resolved long ago to make them wait- to let them feel that pain, and to feel no remorse. But that day, his will flickered.

In another world, that was the day we got the patch, at long last. But in our world, that was the moment that his brother IceFraud decided to whisper in his ear, and the worlds were like poison: “Le Balanced Plague Priest.”

In a fury, IceFrog shoved his brother aside, and stormed away from his balcony, away from the agonized cries of the Dota players. There would be no patch that day. They didn’t deserve it.

As we study the 6.88 meta, we realize that while it’s fun to see Lifestealer kick ass in pro, Naix has nothing to do with the life-sucking nature of the pub life these days. Oh, and guess what? Be careful what you wish for- you just might get it. A day after we posted a podcast joking about how 6.87 was never coming, it came. And we’re… mixed on it? Lame Ags upgrades, a crazy new recon ability for the whole team, nerfs, buffs, weird items… it’s been a few days since we recorded this, and my emotional progression with this patch has been =O =) =| =\.
