Sometimes The Next Chapter isn’t a dramatic reinvention - it’s simply choosing to see yourself differently.

There is something incredibly special about welcoming a client back into the studio for a second time (or third, or fourth..). It’s such an honour when someone chooses to come back to work with me. Some women rebook within a year. Others reach out after a decade. And in between those sessions? An entire lifetime can unfold.

Kids. Marriage. Divorce.
Career pivots. Big moves. Personal reinventions.
Loss. Growth. Healing.
Becoming.

When I first photographed this babe back in 2012, she was newly pregnant and on the cusp of a brand-new identity. Since then, her life has shifted in ways life often does. Priorities changed. Relationships evolved.
She evolved.

And that’s the part I love most about what I do.

Boudoir isn’t about holding onto one ‘perfect’ version of yourself. It’s about documenting who you are right now. The woman you’ve become. The confidence you’ve earned. The softness, the strength, the resilience that only time can shape.

When she walked back into my studio this year, it wasn’t about recreating who she was in 2012.

It was about celebrating who she is now.

A new era.
A new energy.
A version of herself she chose.

There’s something powerful about deciding,
“I want to remember this version of myself.”

Not because she’s finished evolving, but because she’s proud of the woman she sees in the mirror today.

And truly?
Watching women step into the next chapter of their story, and trusting me to document it, never gets old.

She told me she’d spent most of her life feeling uncomfortable in her own skin.

Never really feeling “sexy.”
Never feeling like the type of woman who books a shoot like this.

Then one day while driving, she heard Jayna Marie talk about her shoot with me on the Big Lash Energy Podcast..

So she pulled her car over on the side of the road because something in her said:

“I need to do this. Now.”

“I’ve wanted to do one of these shoots my whole life,” she wrote.
“I’m slowly getting more comfortable with myself… I think this would be the perfect way to help me feel sexy.”

That honesty?
That courage?

That moment in the car where she pulled over and said yes to herself?

Goosebumps.

Feeling like a million bucks | Vancouver Boudoir Photographer

In the 17 years I've been a boudoir photographer, I've worked with women of all walks of life. It never ceases to amaze me that even the most beautiful women who seem to have everything going for them still have those little insecurities that hold them back in some way. Something I wish more women knew - you don’t have to already be confident in order to do a session with me, but you certainly will leave feeling like a million bucks!

When Ms.S arrived at the studio I was completely stunned at how gorgeous she is! I knew immediately it was going to be an incredible shoot day. I sent her some questions she could answer about her experience so I could include it alongside the photos she allowed me to post. Here's what she had to say:

Q. Based on your experience, would you do it again?
"Hell Yes!"

Q. What made you decide you wanted to do a boudoir shoot?
"I’ve always wanted to and figured a gift for my fiancee was the perfect time."

Q. How were you feeling before your shoot?
"I was so nervous I was literally sweating buckets"

Q. What was your favourite part about your shoot with me? Any standout moments or realizations?
"I was impressed with your ability to bring ease throughout the entire experience. I literally felt like I was hanging out with a girlfriend all morning. Thank you."
