What made you want to do a Boudoir photography session?
I wanted to do something special for my fiancé for his wedding present. A Boudoir shoot is something he thought I would never do so it was fun for me to do this for him!

What was your favorite part of your Boudoir experience?
I can’t say that I had a favorite part. The whole experience was amazing! The salon downstairs did a phenomenal job with my hair and makeup. The studio was very relaxed and inviting and Amy did a great job making me feel less nervous and comfortable!

What was the most difficult aspect of your Boudoir experience?
The most difficult part for me was doing this by myself and not being able to talk to my fiancé about it because I always bounce my thoughts off him when I’m trying something new. I was very nervous about the shoot and was afraid I wouldn’t be able to do it without a friend there to keep my nerves in check but I really had nothing to worry about! The shoot went smoothly and my nerves disappeared!

How did you present your photographs to your special someone?  What was the reaction?
I wrapped them up and gave them to my fiancé the night before our wedding after the rehearsal dinner. He was going to stay at his brothers house that night so we wouldn’t see each other until the ceremony the next day. The best way to sum up his reaction….shocked and speechless! He couldn’t believe that I’d done something like this for him and he absolutely loved every picture! His reaction was so priceless I wish I could have recorded it! It was the PERFECT gift!

Were you nervous going into the session? How about during the session?
I was incredibly nervous but as soon as the session started Amy did a great job of calming my nerves and made me feel very comfortable.

What was your first reaction after viewing the proofs from your session?
I loved seeing the proofs for the first time! I had no idea that I was capable of having pictures like that taken of myself that would look so good! While this was originally a wedding gift for my fiancé, this also ended up being a gift to myself as well because it gave me a confidence in myself that I hadn’t had before.

Did you feel well prepared for your session, and what to expect? Is there anything else we can do to help with this?
I definitely felt prepared, Stephanie did a great job communicating with me before the shoot and gave me all kinds of information on what to expect the day of!

What would you say to any ladies that are nervous or hesitant to book a Boudoir session?
Just do it! I promise you won’t regret it! Doing this Boudoir session is something that I’ll remember for the rest of my life and I would do it again in a heartbeat.

What was it like to work with Amy?
Amy was amazing! She immediately made me feel at ease and helped me figure out which outfits would be best. She calmed my nerves right from the start and I had no reservations about doing the shoot after meeting her. She made me feel comfortable and more confident in myself than I had ever been!

If you kept your session a secret, what was your excuse for getting away all day?
My fiancé just thought it was a normal day and I was going to work. I got up at the same time I usually do and followed my normal routine and he had no idea what I was really planning!

What made you want to do a Boudoir photography session?
My husband is and has been an amazing man and partner for the last 18 years and I wanted a new and unique way of showing him my appreciation for the friendship, partnership and love he’s given me over the years. He would have never expected this type of thing from me so I knew it was the perfect idea. I searched boudoir photographers and Unveiled popped up in the search. I looked at quite a few studios, but Unveiled was the only one I contacted and after one contact, that was all I needed…I knew she was the photographer for me.

What was your favorite part of your Boudoir experience?
The photo shoot!! That was so much more fun than I thought it would be!! I want to do it all again!

What was the most difficult aspect of your Boudoir experience?
The wait for my photos!  It was so nerve wracking waiting for my album to arrive. I’m sure Stephanie was beyond annoyed with me.   I was just so excited to get them and give them to my husband.

How did you present your photographs to your special someone?  What was the reaction?
I got my husband a card and wrote him some sappy stuff inside and really just handed him the box with the album inside with the card. After he looked at the album he mentioned how he wished he had more so then I pulled out the proof box and said, “Well, here’s 50 more!”  Haha!  His reaction was priceless. He was shocked speechless while he looked at the album the first time. As soon as he finished looking at it, he started over and I just heard a lot of “Wow,” “Awesome,” “This is so amazing” and some other things I probably shouldn’t say!   He was a VERY pleased man getting those photos as a gift. He has already said I should do it again! And he’s bragged to a few guys at work!

Were you nervous going into the session? How about during the session?
I was nothing but super excited throughout the whole process. Until I started walking up the stairs to the studio. I remember unpacking my stuff and my hand shaking like a leaf in a tornado. I was quite literally terrified. Thankfully, Amy doesn’t just jump right into the photo shoot. We talked about the available products and she helped me pick what outfits to use (I brought six!). She really put me at ease. Despite that, walking out in my first outfit I was still petrified. As she posed me for my first few photos, I knew I looked tense, I could feel it. But eventually, I forgot “logic” and went with it and from then on, it was an absolutely amazing experience.

What was your first reaction after viewing the proofs from your session?
Shock. Utter disbelief and shock. I couldn’t believe that was me! Then Stephanie emailed me and said the photos weren’t retouched at all online and I was beyond amazed.

Did you feel well prepared for your session, and what to expect? Is there anything else we can do to help with this?
I felt absolutely prepared. I knew what to expect and what was going to happen. I can’t think of anything that would need improvement.

What would you say to any ladies that are nervous or hesitant to book a Boudoir session?
Just do it. Book it, go in with all the nerves and hesitation, but in a matter of minutes, that will all melt away. You will feel like a supermodel. You get a high from it, it’s like nothing I’ve ever experienced. Don’t wait to lose those last few pounds, or until you have a special occasion. Don’t wait to do it for someone else if you don’t have someone in your life right now. I received the biggest self-confidence boost just from the session, before I even saw the photos! And once I saw the photos online and then the photos in print…wow. I’ve stopped making derogatory comments about myself, about my appearance. I don’t zero in on this flaw or that flaw when I look in the mirror.  It is truly a life changing experience. My husband said the most profound thing, he said “This is how I always see you.” We women always have a negatively skewed view of our bodies, we see the things no one else sees, but this experience will teach you to appreciate and love your body. I have already talked a couple friends into doing boudoir photos, if for nothing else than the confidence boost!

What was it like to work with Amy?
Amy is, in one word, phenomenal. I walked in terrified, I started the shoot terrified. But 10 minutes into it, she had me so at ease. I forgot to hide this flaw or that flaw, I forgot to think what this body part looked like in this position or what that body part looked like if I did this or that. She was so complimentary as well! I’ve never had a perfect stranger tell me such nice things. Like “I can see why your husband likes your booty” or “You look like a woman in a French painting.” As women, we tend to take a compliment and brush it off, it’s in our nature. But Amy has a genuinely sincere way of delivering a compliment that you can’t help believe what she says. Over the course of my session, we chit chatted about all sorts of things. She has a way of making you forget you’re hanging out in your lingerie or your underwear. Some of my favorite photos from my shoot are of me laughing hysterically at something Amy said. By the end of my session, I would have felt totally comfortable doing just about anything. Amy has a comfortable way about her and can easily move from stranger to best friend in a very short time.

Is there anything else you’d like to share about your Boudoir experience?
Take a bunch of stuff with you, take more outfits than you’ll need, Amy will help you choose the perfect things to wear. Eat something before your shoot! You will WORK. My back was so sore the next day from arching my back. That was unexpected!  Lol! And try as hard as you can to not think while in your shoot. It makes it a far better experience if you get out of your head during it.

If you kept your session a secret, what was your excuse for getting away all day?
I have a friend who lives “up north” and I told my husband that I was going up to Neenah to meet her and do a spa day. This covered me driving 2.5 hours one way (YES, 2.5 hours…Amy is worth it!!), being gone a few hours and coming home with professional make up/hair. As for the money I spent on my session and prints, I told him I was making payments on his epic Father’s Day gift. The photos were not a Father’s Day gift though.

I just also want to say, I am incredibly grateful to Amy for doing my photo shoot and just being the person she is. She made my entire experience amazing and unforgettable. My confidence has boosted a million times over, my husband compliments me and I say thank you instead of giggling or blowing him off. I would do the whole thing over again tomorrow if she had an opening!

What made you want to do a Boudoir photography session?
I wanted to gift my fiancé something really special and unique on our wedding day.

What was your favorite part of your Boudoir experience?
It was such a smooth experience from start to finish, very polished company.  There was no way I could have messed it up, they were perfect each step of the way. Constant communication and tips to have me prep for the photo shoot.  I also loved having the salon right there beneath the studio.  Everything was very convenient and well planned out.

What was the most difficult aspect of your Boudoir experience?
Picking what pictures to use for my book.  There were so many and so many great ones!

How did you present your photographs to your special someone?  What was the reaction?
We meant to exchange gifts right before the ceremony, as we had just done our reveal and did some pre-ceremony photo’s, but we got caught up in getting other things done. So during our cocktail hour we snuck away and exchanged gifts.  He was absolutely floored.  He loved them and couldn’t believe that I did that for him.  It was incredible wedding day moment!

Were you nervous going into the session? How about during the session?
Yes, very.  But also really excited and felt confident that with all the pre-session planning things were going to be fine and I was so right. Amy was fantastic. Not only is she super professional (this is her job) but just a lot of fun.  She’s someone I felt like I could go have drinks with after.  She made me feel very comfortable and real.  There were no cheesy moments.  She focuses on your beauty and runs with it.

What was your first reaction after viewing the proofs from your session?
INCREDIBLE.  They were so great.  I can’t believe how much professional make up helps.

Did you feel well prepared for your session, and what to expect? Is there anything else we can do to help with this?
Perfect, you guys knocked it out of the park!

What would you say to any ladies that are nervous or hesitant to book a Boudoir session?
Don’t be, it’s so much fun to get dressed up and be a model for a day!  Have fun with it.  We all have our beautiful parts and Amy will highlight them!

What was it like to work with Amy?
Great, so much fun.  She felt like a long-time friend.  There was never an awkward moment.  Thank you!

Is there anything else you’d like to share about your Boudoir experience?
Worth every penny. It’s a gift that my husband will cherish forever.  It’s truly a piece of art.

If you kept your session a secret, what was your excuse for getting away all day?
I just said I was at work and then after work I was going to do a free make up trial at the mall!  It worked!

Mrs. S came to Unveiled Portraits for the perfect birthday gift for her husband. Like many of our women that are mothers, Mrs. S had a lot of reservations regarding her sexy side. However, all of that went away after her session….and even more so once her photographs were complete. Needless to say, Mr. S had the best birthday ever!

What made you want to do a Boudoir photography session?
I originally looked into Boudoir photography for my husband’s birthday. He is always telling me how sexy he thinks I am, so I figured this would be a perfect surprise for him. To my surprise, it ended up being for me, too. After having two children, my body isn’t exactly “top notch.” During the Boudoir session, I discovered a new found confidence in myself, which was a great surprise for me!

What was your favorite part of your Boudoir experience?
My favorite part of the Boudoir session would have to be the fact that I had a day set aside for myself. Everyone made me feel special. From the hair and make up to Amy and Steph making me feel so special. Not to mention that pictures were absolutely gorgeous! I couldn’t believe that it was me in the pictures.

What was the most difficult aspect of your Boudoir experience?
I’d say the most difficult aspect of the Boudoir experience was figuring out what I was going to wear, but Steph was so very helpful with this!

How did you present your photographs to your special someone?  What was the reaction?
I was so excited that they had arrived, I just gave the box right to him. He was so shocked. I am a pretty reserved person, so he couldn’t believe I had done this for him. He absolutely loves them!

Were you nervous going into the session? How about during the session?
I was really nervous going into the session because of the unknown, not to mention I was going to be wearing next to nothing. During the session, I couldn’t believe how relaxed I felt. Amy just has this calm about her that makes you feel like you’ve known her for years.

What was your first reaction after viewing the proofs from your session?
My first reaction after viewing the proofs was that I couldn’t believe it was me in those pictures, in a good way. I think as women we are so hard on ourselves, and Amy has a way to make you feel like you are absolutely stunning.

Did you feel well prepared for your session, and what to expect? Is there anything else we can do to help with this?
I felt very prepared for the session. Steph really made it easy for me.

What would you say to any ladies that are nervous or hesitant to book a Boudoir session?
It is only natural to be nervous, but this was one of the best experiences I’ve ever had. It is a definite confidence booster, and Amy and Steph make it so relaxed and fun!

What was it like to work with Amy?
Amy is so easy to work with. She made me feel relaxed through the entire session. I was very nervous going into it, and she instantly made me feel very comfortable.

If you kept your session a secret, what was your excuse for getting away all day?
I did tell my husband that I was heading up north to get his present because the quality was better there, which wasn’t a lie….He just didn’t realize what I was getting.

Miss A rang us up on the phone two weeks before Valentine’s Day stating that she desperately needed a gift for her guy — and Boudoir Photography would be perfect! This was one of those brilliant moments where the scheduling gods were smiling down on us and we were able to fit in her session immediately (typically we’re scheduling out three to four weeks). I think we can all agree that Miss A totally won Valentine’s Day gifts this year!

What made you want to do a Boudoir photography session?
I wanted to do something and different for my significant other for Valentine’s Day.

What was your favorite part of your Boudoir experience?
How good and confident it made me feel.

What was the most difficult aspect of your Boudoir experience?
Going into it was probably the hardest because I necessarily didn’t know what to expect.

How did you present your photographs to your special someone?  What was the reaction?
I sent him a link and made him look on his own. He is a very to himself and shy guy but was blown away when he realized what he was looking at!

Were you nervous going into the session? How about during the session?
Very, but once I got there they made me feel at ease and confident.

What was your first reaction after viewing the proofs from your session?
WOW! I didn’t think I could pull something like this off.

Did you feel well prepared for your session, and what to expect? Is there anything else we can do to help with this?
No, I felt organized and ready.

What would you say to any ladies that are nervous or hesitant to book a Boudoir session?
I would say, DO IT! So well worth it and it gives your own self a boost of self-confidence.

What was it like to work with Amy?
She was so great! We shared a lot of laughs, experiences and she made it very personal!

If you kept your session a secret, what was your excuse for getting away all day?
This question made me laugh because a lot of my friends, teammates and family asked what I got him for Valentine’s Day and I couldn’t help but laugh and tell them the “usual” stuff you would normally get someone for that special day.

Miss M contacted Unveiled Portraits with the explicit purpose of having a mind-blowing gift to give to her husband on their wedding night. She was certainly not expecting to enjoy the session and her photographs as much as she did! Read below for her account – and her amazing photographs!

What made you want to do a Boudoir photography session?
The main reason I did boudoir photography was as a wedding gift to my fiancé. I knew he would love it. But I had so much fun that it really was a gift for me too!

What was your favorite part of your Boudoir experience?
It’s hard to pick a favorite. Getting my hair and makeup done for my own personal photo shoot was really fun. And seeing my proofs for the first time was one of the best parts of the whole experience.

What was the most difficult aspect of your Boudoir experience?
Definitely deciding which images to order. I loved so many of them! And since this was a surprise for my fiancé, I couldn’t ask him for his opinion on which ones he liked best.

Were you nervous going into the session? How about during the session?
I was nervous before the session but as soon as I met Amy, all my nerves went away. Amy is so friendly and chats with you the entire time that you forget about nerves and just have fun.

What was your first reaction after viewing the proofs from your session?
My very first reaction was that I could not believe it was me. I didn’t see the flaws I usually thought I had so I was able to see myself in a different light.

Did you feel well prepared for your session, and what to expect? Is there anything else we can do to help with this?
I felt very prepared for my session. All of the emails from Stephanie leading up to my session covered everything I needed to know.

What would you say to any ladies that are nervous or hesitant to book a Boudoir session?
Just do it – you will not regret it. Stephanie and Amy make the whole experience so much fun from beginning to end that there really is no reason to be nervous.

What was it like to work with Amy?
Amy was great to work with and very professional.  She made the entire session feel easy with her guidance and direction on poses to make me look my best. Beforehand I was most nervous about how to pull off some of the poses, but that was never an issue with Amy’s guidance.

I had always wanted to do a boudoir shoot but was hesitant for years. I always imagined the shoot itself would be awkward and nerve racking. I wanted to do something fun and adventurous for my husband before we started a family but I knew I would have to find the right photographer. Miss E is an amazing woman; educated, world traveler, multilingual and incredibly self-confident (rightfully so!). She also granted us a full release of her session images, so we are over the moon about that! Having a full release means we are able to showcase our favorite images from the session without worrying about identifying features (faces, tattoos or scars that might lead to identifying the model). Client confidentiality is our utmost concern, so we strictly limit what we share online….which often means we don’t get to share our most amazing pieces of art. What made you want to do a Boudoir photography session?
I had been racking my brain trying to come up with the perfect gift for my boyfriend’s birthday this year when a friend mentioned boudoir photos as a possibility, and I thought it would be perfect. My boyfriend and I actually met while we were living in Japan as English teachers, and we were together for 3 years in Japan. However, this past summer, we decided that we wanted to move forward with our lives, so we decided to return to our home countries and deal with a long-distance relationship for about a year until he moves to the US next fall. His birthday comes at the 6-month mark of us being separated, so I wanted to do something really special both for him and for myself as a present for dealing with the distance.

What was your favorite part of your Boudoir experience?
I would definitely say the photo shoot itself was my favorite part, although my first look at my proofs would come as a very close second. I just had a lot of fun with Amy while I was experimenting with poses and strutting my stuff in my lingerie.

What was the most difficult aspect of your Boudoir experience?
Picking and choosing which photos to get! There were so many spectacular shots that it was hard to narrow down which ones to order.

How did you present your photographs to your special someone? What was the reaction?
Since he’s in Scotland, and I’m in the US, I’ve had to mail them to him and can’t see his reaction in person, which isn’t as much fun, but I’ve made him promise to open them while we’re on Skype so I can watch. I wrapped (most of) them nicely, and shipped them over to him via the US postal service so that they would arrive in time for his birthday in late January. He hasn’t opened them yet, but I think he’s really going to like the photos. As a kind of added bonus to his birthday present (and since I plan on going to Scotland for a visit in early March), I stashed away a handful of photos from the batch that I ordered so that I can send him a new photo every week along with a personal note counting down the time until I’m in Scotland and we’re together again.

Were you nervous going into the session? How about during the session?
Actually, I wasn’t nervous at all. I used to be a bit self-conscious about my body, but I’ve shed that self-consciousness in the past few years after spending so much time in public bath houses in Japan. I’ve become very comfortable with who I am and how my body looks. Additionally, working with Amy was super comfortable. She balances the atmosphere of the photoshoot between professional and casual so that you feel more like you’re meeting with a friend who’s taking your photos instead of a professional photographer. I can’t stress enough how wonderful Amy was, and she even gave me a cookie to munch on since we worked through lunch!

What was your first reaction after viewing the proofs from your session?
“Oh God. How am I ever going to choose from all these photos?” I loved them all, and I was so torn that I had to enlist friends to help me choose which photos to order.

Did you feel well prepared for your session, and what to expect? Is there anything else we can do to help with this?
I felt that Amy and Stephanie really gave me the right amount of information to properly prepare me for my session. They were quick to respond to my emails, gave me information on the flow of the session, and provided some helpful tips for preparing beforehand – such as no fake tanning and getting a mani/pedi!

What would you say to any ladies that are nervous or hesitant to book a Boudoir session?
Do it! You don’t even need to do it for someone else. Just do it for yourself. I think women especially have a tendency to focus on the little flaws that we feel overshadow our other beautiful features. If you treat yourself to a boudoir session, you’ll be able to see yourself in a different light. And for any of those ladies out there who wonder if their significant other would like a gift like this, I can say they definitely will! At the end of the day, I knew my boyfriend would love his gift regardless of whatever I wore (or didn’t wear!) in the photos. Boudoir photos aren’t just about exposing a bit of skin or showing off pretty lingerie, they’re about showcasing your confidence and comfort with your body, and there’s nothing sexier than that!

What was it like to work with Amy?
Amy was fantastic. Like I mentioned previously, she was really comfortable to work with, and the atmosphere was very relaxed. We listened to some upbeat music, ate cookies, and chatted throughout the entire session. Amy knows what she’s doing and can easily direct you in posing to make you look your most flattering.

Is there anything else you’d like to share about your Boudoir experience?
I brought some specific props with me that I wanted to incorporate into my session with Amy that were Japan-specific since my boyfriend and I had a lot of memories together in Japan – including my yukata and Happy Birthday sign in Japanese. Amy was really excited to work with my props and had some fabulous ideas. I definitely recommend bringing some props with you that might relate back to your personal history or have significance to your relationship in order to personalize your session. I know my boyfriend will love all the photos, but he’ll especially like his birthday message in Japanese!

If you kept your session a secret, what was your excuse for getting away all day?
Luckily for me, since my boyfriend is in Scotland, it wasn’t a problem for me to get away for my photo shoot. I just didn’t tell him about it in our daily Skype call. (But I still felt pretty sneaky about it!) Thank you so much Stephanie and Amy! I had a wonderful experience from start to finish. You were both fabulous, and I love the final product! 本当にありがとうございました！

What was your favorite part of your Boudoir experience?
Getting to see the photos in the end-I looked a lot better than I would have ever imagined! I got to be my sexy 1930’s glamorous alter-ego for the day! My makeup was also amazing. It really helped me transform into my “character.”

What was the most difficult aspect of your Boudoir experience?
The price of products/overall experience is expensive, in my opinion, and probably a barrier for women having this done.

Were you nervous going into the session? How about during the session?
I was a little bit nervous at first but it is a very professional environment and that made all the difference in being able to trust the process.

What was your first reaction after viewing the proofs from your session?
Wow! I look GOOD! My makeup (by Jessi) is so so good!

What would you say to any ladies that are nervous or hesitant to book a Boudoir session?
You are beautiful. You deserve it. Love yourself. Do it for you!

What was it like to work with Amy?
Awesome-she is a consummate professional. She was respectful of my vision and of me as a person. She brought out the things I really love about my body and made me feel good about my “flaws” too!

I figured it would be a great time in my life to have these photos as a bride-to-be and a great gift for my husband, who has a birthday near Christmas (an awesome gift can count for both!)  I am in the best shape of my life right now and wanted to preserve the moment for both myself and my husband.

What was your favorite part of your Boudoir experience?
Getting to wear fun, cute, and sexy clothing for photos!  It was a unique experience that empowered me.  It helped me feel even better about my body and it was fun to dress up!

What was the most difficult aspect of your Boudoir experience?
Posing with my booty out!  And doing a “seductive” look…Amy was a great coach, though and worked with me to show my unique personality.

How did you present your photographs to your special someone?  What was the reaction?
He figured it out before I gave them to him, so I let him choose which ones he wanted.  He was blown away!  I think he was surprised that I asked him to pick the photos out, and he had a hard time choosing.  The huge smile and look he gives me when he looks at the items speaks louder than words!

Were you nervous going into the session? How about during the session?
Not really.  I felt like I knew Amy well already from meeting her for our wedding planning and engagement photo session.  She made it easy to relax and have fun.

What was your first reaction after viewing the proofs from your session?
I was surprised at how beautiful they were and the big variety!

Did you feel well prepared for your session, and what to expect? Is there anything else we can do to help with this?
Everything you provided before the session really helped.  I felt like I knew what to expect, all the way from outfits to bring to what to do that day.  I think the information you provide (and the reminder) are really good!

What would you say to any ladies that are nervous or hesitant to book a Boudoir session?
Think about how much your significant other would like this gift-it is totally worth it!!!  This is something you will have FOREVER and will always make both of you smile.  It is an awesome feeling to look at these photos and feel great about yourself.

What was it like to work with Amy?
Fun and easy.  She is amazing all the way around!!!

Is there anything else you’d like to share about your Boudoir experience?
I’m so glad I did it.  I was hesitant at first, but did it because I got a good deal from being a bridal client.  I am SO happy I did.  My husband LOVES that I did this!  I did it just as much for myself as for him.  It really boosted my confidence in myself and was a fun experience.  It really brought out my femininity and fun side.

If you kept your session a secret, what was your excuse for getting away all day?
I told him I was meeting with the photographer that day for a wedding planning session, but when  it took several hours he figured it out.  He remembered hearing about it in our first meeting with Amy (funny he was listening! :) )
