I hope you are having a wonderful day, and that the summer has been good to you thus far.

As we are now well into the sun’s transition through the house of Cancer, I want to take a moment to wish a great big HAPPY BIRTHDAY to all my affectionate Cancers out there.    Much love to ya.  May today see you comfortably settled in peace and warmth, surrounded by loved ones who appreciate you.

I realize it has been a long time since my last post.  For this, I do apologize.  It’s not the first time, and somehow I’m guessing it may not be the last.  My blog posts are dated, and my MyBlogLog “New With Me” may look like a ghost town these days.  This “launch” is taking longer than I had hoped, and I will go into more detail about this below.  I’ve been working busily, but I pulled myself out of my cave to make sure you still know that “YES, we are still doing this.”

A Work in Progress

As you may have heard me say before, things seem to take me a while to finish.  While some people can bang out a letter, essay or article in no time, it can take me hours to produce a finished product.  It was like that when I was in school as well.  Other kids would finish their homework in no time and be out playing in the street.  I, on the other hand, was often back at my desk after dinnertime (and we ate dinner pretty late).

I couldn’t understand it. It seemed so unfair.  I wanted to have fun too.  I’d wonder to myself, “Do they not have homework?  Is it simply that their parents do not insist on excellence and make them apply themselves?  Do they not take pride in their work?  Or am I just slow??”  (On the one hand, I felt pretty smart and some things came to me very quickly, but on the other, it was really hard to focus and concentrate.  I suppose my natal Saturn in Gemini might help explain it.)

Yet I was one of the youngest in my class, and in all the top classes and programs with good grades.  Somehow I managed to excel.    Fortunately, my mother gave me a good start helping me with my homework, and my father did with my science projects.

One thing’s for sure, though.  It was work.  As a result, I tend to put a lot of effort into my projects… and especially those that mean something to me.  This community is one of those efforts. It is my primary motivation in life these days.  It is also a huge undertaking for me (and somewhat overwhelming if the truth be told).

A Community of Destiny

To me, this is about way more than just a handful of blogs to express myself.  (Actually, if I didn’t feel a greater sense of purpose with these blogs, I wouldn’t even consider blogging.)  Yes, the blogs are there, but they are simply a medium.  The intent is for the blogs to be part of a community movement. In order to do this, we need to do our best to meet needs of the community at large while also gathering together in our own little community of people with a common vision.

Evolution and Expansion

Well, with all the time that has passed, I wanted to write to you and explain the silence.

I started with a goal to make this Boundless Abundance Lifestyles community helpful to the lives of the greatest number of people possible.  The vision is still taking shape.  It has been evolving and expanding.  The business model has required a lot of thought, working and reworking.  The logistics have been changing.  New dynamics and elements are being introduced and considered.  The behind-the-scenes framework is being revamped.  These are all critical processes if we are even to hope to reach and accommodate masses in a community fashion.  There have been many considerations to take into account to make it both profitable for you and sustainable for me in these challenging times.

As every business professional knows, there are many systems and procedures to be implemented – from legal to accounting to IT to web design, coding and scripts to ecommerce, fulfillment and referral programs to marketing to customer support and communications… and in this case, also community networking.  Getting all to work together seamlessly and efficiently is a serious task – one that must be firmly founded if we want to secure the project’s future for the good of all.

Keeping the Faith

While nothing would make me happier than to tell you I’m close to the end, the truth is we’ve still got a ways to go.  It is multi-faceted and as I don’t have an entire professional team, proper implementation will take some time.  But I am on it, doing my best, making progress, and determined that we will make something useful out of all of this.  I appreciate your patience.

Please keep believing in me.  I could use your faith and positive energy.

… and I didn’t have to rebuild the whole thing from scratch, but I did spend quite a bit of time trying to organize the data in order to do so.

Fortunately, as it turned out, there was an .htaccess mod rewrite error, which when I supplied the required .htaccess info, the site was then visible again (well… for those of you who know what I’m talking about).  After I got some sleep and got into a better frame of mind, I just knew there had to be an easier way… well, I was hoping so.

So to anyone who was looking for the site, “Thank you for your patience.”

Now I’ve got to get some banners up, set up and configure additional communications technology, create the SpiritFREE Life Cards™ system for spreading the word, set up comments nesting for proper conversation, finish some networking, and a couple of other things…

…but “I’ll be back.” 

This wish comes quite late, I know.  For this I apologize.  I have missed writing to you. 

Well, I JUST KNOW this is going to be special year of purpose and growth for me because I am having to determinedly stay focused and press my way through, lol!

I have had a few challenges – the last of which just happened – and I am doing my best to keep it all together… and finally GET it all together, so we can get this show on the road.

No I have not disappeared, and I have not quit either.  We will most definitely go on.  We began a series of posts here on BAL that was intended to go somewhere, so we will get there.

I simply encountered a few challenges, and found myself in a bit of a quandary that I needed some time to process.  It wasn’t supposed to be this long.  Then there were the holidays.  At the same time, I began to feel ill prepared with the developments thus far.  Some of you who read I Wanna Get Free – Heal Your Life may remember I stated in Community Home Open House (oh, that’s right – sorry, it’s not there right now) that the basics were set up, and then I started posting again.  Well, yes the basics were here, but there’s more.

A Stitch in Time…

It is so important to me that this is well organized, gets off on the right foot, and is the best experience possible for the greatest number (as well as in a way I can efficiently manage to continue it).  I’ve found that when things start going off track, you need to start making adjustments sooner than later.  And well, I’ve had quite a bit of adjusting to work out.  I’ve got some more work to do, but we’re a lot closer now.  I do wish it hadn’t taken me so long to write however.

…so it was back to the drawing board to develop and implement the concept some more.  Once things really get going, there won’t be time to stop and take care of some things.  It needs to run on semi-autopilot to work effectively …or perhaps that is just my compulsion    …but then again, to be fair to myself, it is I who have to keep it running.  So I have been working diligently behind the scenes to lay out something I hope will become a pillar of our communities.

It’s been a long silence, and with each day it’s been harder to know what to say.  Yet there’s been so much to do and set up before I felt prepared to post – I didn’t want to post to you about nothing.  But if it wasn’t one thing, it was another.  You have been on my mind though.

Where is I Wanna Get Free?

Apologies for the gloom.  As you can probably tell, I’m not having the best day.  I’m actually quite sad and frustrated right now.  I Wanna Get Free is now missing.  I noticed that my feed reader subscription numbers shot up, and the hits appear to be higher than they’ve been in a while… and alas, now there’s no feed to give.  

…as a result, I have so much more to do starting when I get up in the next several hours that I had to write you right now and just let you know to hang on – I’m aware of the problem, and I’m on it.  (Hmm, maybe I can redirect my IWGF feed to point here so they know.) 

So what happened??

Well… I discovered that someone had hacked I Wanna Get Free – Heal Your Life and inserted junk I couldn’t remove.  It was a security hazard, so I spent all day and night researching that.  After testing and tightening security on my other sites, I finally decided to uninstall IWGF-HYL and reinstall.

Fortunately I backed up the database, the theme and even the plugins, but in my haste I cannot believe I forgot to actually export the blog content to reimport it on the new installation.  So basically, I just lost the XML for I Wanna Get Free – Heal Your Life (on the blog itself and the feed) and am trying not to beat myself up about it.

So now I’ll have to add to my current list:

Copy, delete and repost all pages and posts to IWGF.  (Here’s hoping it will at least be that simple, if still time-consuming.)

… but HEY, at least I can see the data on this side to repost from, right?

I guess I’ve gotta be thankful – it could’ve been worse.

Keepin’ that Head Up

And at the end of the day (or as it were, the beginning of the next one), I’ve still got my life, health and strength. I am actually quite fortunate.

Something good’s gotta come out of all this.

That which doesn’t kill me only makes me stronger.  (Note to self: It’s true.  Repeat often.)

Happy November everybody!

While the sun still looms in last tiny bit of Scorpio, I wanted to wish a Happy Belated Birthday to all my Scorpios out there in the WHOLE BIG WIDE WORLD (as I put on an adorable kiddie smile). Yep, that means every last one of you. I honor you.

… and a Happy Belated Birthday to me too! Earlier this month, I too celebrated my birthday during the Sun’s annual transit through the house of Scorpio.

From time to time, I visit astrology websites and blogs, as I find astrology helps me better understand the energy of relationships and events in my life. During my travels, I’ve come across lots of talk about Scorpios – questions and even judgments about who we are, how we behave and why we do so.

From where I sit, despite representations and “demonizations” to the contrary, Scorpio is an extremely kind and loving sign. Whether or not we always show it, Scorpio is an intensely emotional sign. Since still waters run deep, I suspect that this can make Scorpios a bit harder for many to relate to or anticipate.

It should be noted that when I say ‘we’ or Scorpio, I’m generalizing; we know that no two people are the same. Who and how we know and represent ourselves to be in this physical human form is determined by more than our Sun signs. We’ve also got the Moon, Ascendant, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, Pluto, Chiron, Midheaven, North Node, South Node and all the aspects they all make with each other to take into account.

In addition, our own personal levels of soul evolution play a huge role in how we manifest the energies of our natal charts. When we rise up spiritually from within, then even our basest, most primitive, natural instinctive tendencies are transformed for the better. (This type of self-empowerment is a major theme of I Wanna Get Free – Heal Your Life.)

Scorpios are People Too

Scorpio, as a sign, often gets a really bad rap. I only know of two others who seem to get pretty bad raps, and one is hot and emotional like us, while the other seems so cold and aloof it’s not funny. Well that’s what happens when we don’t understand one another. But it is also important to get to understand ourselves. I am finding that astrology can be extremely helpful in getting insight into our instinctive behaviors, strengths, defense mechanisms, issues and vices.

As we go, I will probably post links to Scorpio-related blog posts that I’ve found interesting. Some of the commenters appear quite aware, insightful and introspective. Some ideas I agree with. Others I feel reflect a need to know ourselves and others better. Even those with major issues have very real reasons for having them. Perhaps if we all tried to understand people better, we’d stop trying to fit them into molds that were not made for them, without needing to make them the scum of the earth.

Although sometimes a person’s (and not just Scorpio’s) actions may be extreme, unconventional or even inappropriate, I’m finding more and more that it’s worth really examining all the pieces of the puzzle and finding our own involvement in the situation. It takes two to tango. Every relationship is a combination of two people’s energies feeding off of each other. Perhaps we should focus on our own issues, attitudes and propensity to be upset or attract these experiences, and improve “what little” we might be able to improve. (I say “what little” facetiously because others can often seem or even be sooo wrong that we can’t see our own stuff next to it.)

Greater Understanding is Needed

I don’t know what I sound like right now to some people.  If it sounds like I’m angry, I’m not.  I do however see a need for people (all people – not just other signs vs. Scorpio) to begin to understand and accept each other (and themselves better).  Sadly, it is human nature for people to be down on what they’re not up on.   Put differently, people tend to judge more harshly that which they do not understand.  That goes for all of us.  Only increased self-awareness and understanding others better can help bring a sense of empathy and acceptance through identification with the similarities we share.  That’s why I feel it’s great there are so many bloggers out there doing the world a service of opening up a dialogue among people.  Kudos to you.

So really, who is Scorpio? I don’t know that I can truly and completely define it, but I will at least give a shot. I say ‘it’ because more than being a him or a her, Scorpio is an energy.

Well, at the present time, here’s my take on the Scorpio experience. Maybe other Scorps out there wanna jump in and add their perspectives?

Maybe this will help people better understand, respect, empathize with, and sometimes even cope with the Scorpio in their lives. (We really are human, you know.)

Hopefully, but if not, I’m guessing this trilogy of posts will probably arouse quite a bit of opinion and sharing if not epiphany. That’s fine. Sometimes it’s good to stir things up a bit. (Then again, I could be wrong.  My Uranus is afflicted. Oh well; still trying to interpret how that plays out in my life.)

So here goes…

Who Is Scorpio?

Scorpio, dubbed the psychologist, the most powerful sign, and the phoenix of the zodiac, has a great deal of intuition and insight into human nature. Scorpio senses, feels, loves and hurts very deeply, in an almost sacred way.

Yet a Scorpio is also a survivor. Scorpio has a strong will. It uses this will to survive. Hence Scorpio also likes to win. I suspect that sometimes for Scorpio to win is to survive, and to survive and more so to, to thrive is to win. (It is worth noting here that for many Scorpios this does not usually have to be at the expense of others).

Scorpio keeps to its own standards and therefore can be critical of weakness in itself and others. At the same time Scorpio can be very tolerant of people’s flaws because it is deeply acquainted with human nature, and the nuances underlying much behavior. Scorpio therefore acknowledges its own frailties and those of others. It understands and recognizes the darker, more taboo things that some couldn’t fathom, much less believe could exist as potentials within themselves.

It has been said that Scorpio is manipulative and vindictive. Well, yes, this can be true at times, depending on the Scorpio and the situations. Nevertheless, it should also be acknowledged that having a strong Scorpionic energy in one’s chart has its distinct challenges. Because Scorpio sees, intuits and understands the depths of people and of human nature, it can take quite a bit of integrity, objectivity and optimism to live a positive Scorpio life.

Yet it is also because of Scorpio’s depth of feeling and empathy, that Scorpio can be most compassionate, kind, loyal, giving and faithfully supportive – your best unwavering friend – a rock you can depend on. A higher-thinking Scorpio can learn to use that same quick insight, shrewdness and ability to manipulate to “manage” situations gently and scrupulously for good and not evil.

A Deeply Challenging Experience

It should not seem too strange then if because of this depth, vulnerability, sensitivity to pain and awareness of the underlying motivations in human nature, we also may feel the need to remain strong, independent, guarded, focused and in control, and somewhat solitary/unattached (enough to roll with the punches and keep it moving in a forward fashion).

Because of this combination of will, insight and empathy, in order to survive and win in life, yet still honor others, Scorpio will often adopt a win-win philosophy. Scorpio will often do all within its power, often sacrificing or suffering much (and recovering), to strive for a win-win. Scorpio regenerates from wounds repeatedly and becomes stronger, wiser and more determined. Sometimes, this can also include becoming “fiercer”, more “cynical” and more “stubborn”. They are two sides of the same coin.

I’ve come across quite a few very degrading opinions scorning, judging and shunning Scorpio. And being scorned, judged and shunned has indeed been my experience in life – a very painful one at that. I know and have met some other Scorpios who would say the same thing.

It’s sad but people (even those in our lives) seem to have no idea sometimes about the Scorpio experience. At the risk of sounding like I’m trying to toot the Scorpio horn and saying we are some super-aware beings that no one can match or understand, I have to say that the truth of the matter is …

Scorpio often understands deeply, feels deeply, suffers deeply, and angers deeply, and what Scorpio feels able (or even “allowed”) to show and communicate of these isn’t even nearly commensurate with Scorpio’s intensity. Some people have no idea what the Scorp has been through with them, for them, and given even in spite of them. Scorpio has a very good and loyal heart, but from where I sit, we can get run over too much.

And perhaps a misunderstood, hurt sense of being unknown and not authentically loved – an underdog complex is a childhood issue that some of us need to work out and release in this lifetime; everyone has their own issues and vices. At the same time, I believe more self-understanding, self-accountability and tolerance is likely needed on the part of others who point the finger, yet who continually attract to themselves negative Scorpionic experiences.

Having a better idea of where people are coming from makes it easier to identify with each other instead of arming ourselves against each other. Overall, I think this would be good for everyone to aim for with all people in general.

When Enough is Enough

People too often mistake kindness for weakness. Scorpio is very understanding, dedicated, loyal, committed and full of good will. So in Scorpio’s case, this can have unfortunate , even disastrous effects – first sustained by Scorpio (usually for a longer time than is reasonable) and eventually on the relationship or on others. It is because the respect, kindness, compassion, loyalty and love that Scorpio extends feels sacred to Scorpio and ought not be trampled.

When Scorpio has given and tolerated and been pushed to its limits and wounded severely by another’s abuse, betrayal, insensitivity or unfair “win-lose philosophy”, the Scorpio may finally stand up and “win” in a strong way, which is often uncomfortable for others for the extreme emotional energy exhibited (or lack thereof). Sometimes this is not very nice. It may finally begin to reflect the depth of pain the Scorpio has sustained and held within for so long.

Other times, while the Scorpio may do very little or nothing truly detrimental to the person, the feeling transmitted is much more extreme, perhaps to the point of a complete about-face or removal of his supportive presence, and this may be what is so uncomfortable. Because having once known the depth of the Scorpio’s loyalty, integrity, tolerance, understanding, and undying support, to have been weighed in the balances and found wanting and to be completely released is something people don’t want to feel, believe or even look at.

Whose fault was that really? Perhaps folks just need to deal with their own issues, and Scorpio ruled by Pluto can definitely be said to be catalytic. Is being a catalyst a bad thing? No, it is needed. Sometimes things are all wrong and need to be mixed up so it can be set aright, yet all too often Scorpio bears the brunt of people’s blame and scorn. After all, people don’t want to hear it, but it is the nature of human beings to blame somebody.

I suppose if we really want to blame the Scorpio in the cases above, it should be for attaching too strongly and unyieldingly, being too devoted and too accommodating – accepting too much inequality and various forms of “abuse” (widely interpreted) and enabling until they just simply had nothing left, turned cold and had to get out before they ended up unloading on someone or losing it. It’s no wonder Scorpios feel a need to be in control. And as far as disengaging emotionally and “leaving you cold”, has anyone stopped to consider that maybe Scorpio was being much more loving and responsible than you could fathom?

Because it’s also very possible when under extreme pressure that a Scorpio (or any person) will truly “snap” (and Scorpios and heavily Plutonic people are very aware of the darker side of human nature). And that could be a really calm, calculated and icy snap (since Scorpio is so adept at keeping deep emotions down).

Undying Devotion Suffers Long and Dies a Hard Death

Because as we established, one way or another, Scorpio won’t give up; Scorpio will win. The mantra for Scorpio is “I Will”, “I Want” or “I Desire”. I can do it. It is worth it. I will make it. We can do it. No mountain is too high. You’ll see honey, we can do it; I’ve got you.

A Scorpio can accept you in all your flaws and keep on trucking through hell and high water loyally with undying dedication in pursuit of a worthy cause.  What happens when this effort, loyalty, this steady determined investment is demeaned, abused, cast aside or betrayed?

That is the ultimate in insult and disrespect. And when it’s not intended to hurt – it just is what it is – that is just unbelievable and hurts so much.  It negates everything. What did it all mean? What was it all worth? Nothing. A stronger, more positive Scorpio will simply have nothing real left for you and leave you to your selfishness, abuse or negligence.

Yeah, ouch, sometimes you don’t like that. But what more can a person expect?

Because what happens when a person – any person (especially a Scorpio who is intensely devoted and long suffering) comes to the end of a very long rope? What happens when even the well-meaning, fully-invested Scorpio feels beaten down, impotent and jaded?

After giving his ALL for a “win-win”, and feeling abused, sometimes the Scorpio will “win” in the wrong way. If they don’t sever from someone who executes a win-lose philosophy against them, they might finally turn your “win-lose” philosophy back against you.

Sometimes self-preservation, surviving, healing and using the experiences to grow into a stronger, better person is a “win” for Scorpio (if it’s the only win we can get out of situations, and that’s a tough way to go). At least we’d better hope so.

Because if not, then it’s like, “There, are you happy now? You couldn’t let us both win together or let well enough alone. You just had to keep pushing and bring me down. Well now you can lose too; don’t think you’re gonna just sit up there all happy like it’s all hunky dory. You’ve taken all it from me – now you can be miserable too.” Sometimes when Scorpio finally “wins”, everyone loses.

Delivery vs. Principle

Oh, but OMG, then they’re so wrong. Well, it’s very true that two wrongs don’t make it right, and how far a Scorpio (or anyone) goes is clearly worth noting. But do we make allowances that sometimes the Scorpio is not wrong?  …and particularly if he didn’t do anything truly bad back.  Yet people are too busy listening to their own emotions that they don’t even stop to suppose how the Scorp feels.  (And this idea is transferable to others as well.)

Ah, and even if he did do something bad in retaliation, can we acknowledge that there was probably something very wrong with the underlying logic and undercurrents of the original situation that brought things to the point where the fixed and determined Scorpio finally gave in and lashed out to sting?  Just because the delivery is incorrect, it does not mean the underlying message ought not be heeded.  As people, we are all too often are guilty of throwing the baby out with the bathwater.

So What Does It All Mean?

So what’s the deal?  Am I suggesting that other people are always to blame?  What is Scorpio’s part in all of this?  Isn’t she an active participant too?  Well, the purpose of these posts is not to place blame on either side, but rather to point out a trend and to bring understanding to begin to dissolve what appear to be extreme differences.

But the answer is that it takes two to tango.  Scorpio is not infallible in her sensitivity.  We’ll talk a little bit about some of Scorpio’s vices and the effects even our innocent ways can have on others towards the end of the next Scorpio post.  Then you can add your perspectives and suggestions (because I’m not as versed in that, lol). I just felt that from some of what I read, Scorpio could use a bit of representation.  I also wanted to point out some posts where I think other Scorpios have explained it well.  The entire posts are actually worth glancing over.

In the end, one of the goals of this whole treatise is to show how people are similar and help them relate to one another.  It aims to show that ‘if x, then it should not be so strange that y happens’, whether it be with Scorpios or across the board.  I look at Scorpio as a cross-section of all of humanity reflecting the deeper, heavier, more vulnerable and therefore more in touch and passionate side of human nature.  It’s just that Scorpio is more aware of it, and therefore harder for many to handle, understand and accept.  I write this as a point of awareness.

Just try to trust and have some faith that many Scorpios (and other Martian and Plutonic people) are probably doing a pretty good job carrying their own experiences, perceptions and energy, probably as good or perhaps better than others would in similar situations.

This election win marks a significant milestone for our country.

An Inspiration to All

It is quite the inspiration to black people everywhere that a relatively-young black man could become President of the United States.  An achievement that will go down into the African-American history Hall of Fame.

It is an event that should spark the belief in all the American people that “what the mind can conceive, and the heart can believe, we can achieve”.

It is an event which, regardless of one’s party or candidate, should be used to inspire a renewed sense of the power that vision, positivity, unity and perseverance have to make even the largest sort of change.

Grace & Co-Operation

Congratulations also to Senator John McCain for toughing it out through a long and challenging campaign.  In this he showed the spirit of a leader as well.  It takes that kind of perseverance to accomplish great things.

I would like to honor him for making the effort to continue forward in offering his support to the Obama administration to help make our nation a happier and healthier one.

Change is not usually very comfortable, because transformation is not easy…  and the present economic crisis doesn’t help matters.  Therefore, regardless of which candidate we voted for, there is no doubt that if we are to get through the coming days of change successfully, we all will need to work at honoring, understanding and accepting one another as valid individuals with valid concerns.  We don’t always need to agree, but we need to live together on this earth.

United We Stand

President-elect Obama indicated a desire to work with Republicans in striking a balance from which to move our nation forward.  I do hope both parties truly do get the chance to not only discuss their perspectives, but also learn to listen and truly HEAR each other.  We’ve got such talented people who know so much about law and history.  Isn’t there a way to address each sides’ major concerns?  I really hope they (AND WE) can find some way to harmonize ideas and efforts to make this land a better land.

In spite of our differences, we are all people, and we are one nation.  The same blood flows through our veins.  In this world, not one of us is an island unto him/herself.   Therefore, it would be nice if we could all learn to see ourselves as one people, respecting one another.  In order to get through these times, it would seem to me that we will have to summon a spirit of unity and honor toward one another to deal with differences with grace.

In the midst of grave disappointment after a hard-fought race, Senator McCain has graciously shown great leadership in setting a fine example for us of just that.  Thank you Senator McCain.

We are in the midst of challenging times.  The more wisdom and love we can employ to get through them, the better our chances of coming through unscathed.  Let’s all do our best to be the best that we can be.

We are the World, performed by United Support of Artists for Africa in 1985, was written to bring relief from famine and disease in Africa. Twenty-three years later, the message of the song is still poignant. Not only for Africa, but I think it applies to every one of us right where we are in our own lives and communities.

I say “in our own lives” because it would appear to me that even the small improvements we make in ourselves and in our daily interactions with others can have a ripple effect.

We Are The Ones

If each one of us just started with him or herself and the ability to be kind and loving with each other right where we are, with healing our own conscious and subconscious issues, healing our own hearts and cleansing our attitudes toward life and other people, we’ll start charging the atmosphere with positivity and making brighter days for ourselves and everyone else, starting right where we are.

The more we can love unconditionally, judge less and appreciate the divine spark in others more, do justly, love mercy and love our neighbors as ourselves, I believe we can begin to make a difference, and it will grow from there. All kinds of positive tangible developments can come about.

Kirk says “I see it happening. It’s going to get brighter.”

The reason I say, “let’s clean it up” is because the And a Cry Went Out posts paint for us an ugly, helpless, hopeless picture of the state of our world. They also paint a very sad picture of many people’s individual experiences. So we need to clean up the picture.

Our world picture is just that. A picture. A picture come to life in form. It is a picture in our minds that has pressed itself out onto the screen of our lives. The same holds true on a personal level. The spirit of these pictures of loss, division, destruction and grief runs amok through our individual and collective consciousness (our souls).

The feelings of angst, fear, rage and victimization are somehow stuck in many of us. These beliefs, thoughts and feelings have been “outpictured” into our 3-dimensional world. We have to get whatever we believe (be it conscious or subconscious).

“When we realize that Life is not fundamentally physical, but mental and spiritual, it will not be hard for us to see that by a certain mental and spiritual process, we can demonstrate what we want.”

The problem stems from the fact that we too often focus on the negative facts around us. When we focus on horrid facts and the controversy that our five physical senses perceive, we perpetuate them.

When we feel the corresponding emotions of indignation, fear, horror etc… after, let’s say, reading the paper or watching the news, or even watching a YouTube video like the ones I posted, we entrain the spirit of that stuff further into our belief system. …And because our thoughts create via the Law of Attraction, we perpetuate further negative results.

So we mustn’t allow ourselves to be hypnotized into believing the drama as Truth.  Absolute Truth is God the Good, Omnipotent.  Disastrous drama has nothing to do with God.  It is not of Him, nor did he create it.  So we shouldn’t have too much to do with it, getting wrapped up and consumed by it either. We can still choose to act responsibly, but paint a different picture on which to focus our attention.

We need to move towards what we do want – not FIGHT and struggle AGAINST what we don’t want.  We need to consider the current physical situation a mere shadow, having no power, not grounded in reality.  It’s merely a projection of old inharmonious beliefs that must be uprooted – not a self-abiding truth in itself.  Now we must find the Truth – the harmonious beliefs that are in line with our Divine heritage – who and what we and God’s creation TRULY ARE on the inside, absent the drama and self-limiting beliefs.  (We will talk more about this over at I Wanna Get Free – Heal Your Life).

Ah, there’s the challenge. That is not always so easy to do when we’ve lived much of our lives in the flesh, focusing on the things and events of the world and of the senses.

“So if we’re not to focus on the situation, then why did you show us those depressing videos?”

I did so for a couple of reasons. One of those reasons, for the concerns of this particular post, is the same as those who posted the homemade videos – to bring an increased awareness that invites one to action. In order to choose to create a new picture, we first have to get sick enough of creating the old pictures to resolve to change them.

Writing the vision, contemplating it, and stirring up the feeling as you imagine what it would feel like helps you demonstrate that vision. The more you can feel the joy and reality of your vision as a present reality that exists in you and for you, the more easily you will be able to begin to bring it into manifestation.

It is for this reason that I would like to talk about vision video statements. We have all been, in a sense, hypnotized by the drama in our lives, and by the negativity that passes across our television and computer screens, and over our radio waves.

Video vision statements can be used as a way to brainwash ourselves (wash our brains). It is a way of “hypnotizing” ourselves to believe that which is in accordance with the goodness of Life – NOT loss, discord, strife, fear, hopelessness, destruction and everything that resonates to a death frequency.

Therefore, when we make or view videos that are so breathtaking, so awe-inspiring that we get caught up in the joy of the feeling – the feeling of that good treasure inside of us that wants to come forth and manifest on the screens of our lives – then we are on our way to changing our circumstances for the better.

The first time I watched this video, I cried.  I was moved with joy and a profound appreciation and passion for the limitless Spirit of God/Life within me. I felt the video was so inspiring, and that it epitomized the message of IWannaGetFREE and our Boundless Abundance purpose so much, that I had to feature it prominently on this site. Why try to improve on perfection?

I want to take a moment to acknowledge Joel Gruber as the maker of this highly inspirational work of art. Joel has no association with Boundless Abundance (as you will note from the last frame of the video).

I came across the video on his Squidoo lens about making Video Vision Statements. It is a very good read. It features self-development resources I’d recommend, and others that I’d like to read. I’d encourage you to check it out when you get a moment. You can also visit Joel’s blog at Fearless Dreams. He’s got some positive things to share.

I don’t know how long I’ll keep this particular video up as the “Featured Video”.  I may choose to share other videos with you from time to time, but at least for now, I like it there. So I just wanted to say, “Kudos to you, Joel! Thank you. I believe your video is and will continue to be an inspiration to many.”

… And maybe make your own. You can start with affirmations.  Some people prefer affirmations.  I enjoy affirmations because I can take my time and savor them rolling them around in my spirit. Video vision statements, however, can add extra life and color to the affirmations. They add another dimension to help you feel the vision. You can learn how to make one at Joel’s lens, Video Vision Statements.  You can add yours to the mix.

If you make one with a global feel, we can all benefit.

If enough of us can reach within and catch the vision of God within – if enough of us can see a peaceful world with everyone manifesting their own good without it being at the expense of others – if we can see ourselves without lack or need, all living responsibly, respecting one another as well as our earth’s resources – if we can envision a harmonious, joyful, abundant world, where communities are peaceful and no one has to fear – if we can envision ourselves and our world neighbors being fed, healthy and whole – then we can bring about brighter days in our world.

If we can see it, we can be it.

If we can believe it (truly believe it), we can receive it.

I had intended to be done with all the “gloom and doom”. Well, I thought we were done with it. I was ready to move onto posts about Visions of a Brighter Day. I was looking for Gotham City videos to that end.

A City of Justice, Love and Peace

I find it interesting that R. Kelly called Gotham City a city of justice, love and peace. In looking for YouTube videos, I came across a comment where someone said something to the effect of  “I don’t think that Gotham City is a place one should frequent, but nice video”. I agree with that user. Perhaps that’s why most of the Gotham City videos I found are either dark or sad.

Before I had ever even seen a Gotham City video, however, I wanted to post the song because I hear hope and the beauty in it.

To me, it sounds like being “raised with Christ and seated in heavenly places in Christ Jesus” while we’re right here in the middle of it all. It’s as if he’s speaking of a transformed world, a sort of utopia, similar to what the Bible speaks of as “the New Jerusalem” coming down from that higher dimension of spirit into our current circumstances. To me, the song speaks of an ideal land of peace and love. It has this triumphant feeling and sound to it – a celebratory sound that rings of freedom and harmony.

‘Sad’ Has Its Place

Therefore I was looking for a Gotham City video that sent a message of hope and victory. I didn’t find any that had this feel. I did, however, come across the following video, which I felt to be very moving, so I want to feature the video.  The creator is very talented.  So folks, we’ve got one more sad video post for you.

Sad is not necessarily bad. It’s just part of the cycle of life and growth. Sometimes we need to stop and take a good look at where we are, so we can decide to move from there. But it should get happier from here.

Please pardon the text in the middle of each frame, but I think the young man who made this video did an excellent job of conveying the message that we need a change. A message that we need a world of justice, love and peace.  I respect his work.

Had I planned in advance to use this video, I would have placed it along with other similar posts before the Something to Believe In post. Interestingly enough, however, I think that Gotham City is a good transition song for us to segue from And a Cry Went Out into posts on Visions of a Brighter Day.

Breaking Through to Brighter Days

At first, the song conveys a solemn realization of pain and injustice and it mourns the futility of it. In the midst of the sorrow, R. Kelly sings the refrain, which is like a sad prayer and a hope for peace. This can be heard even more clearly in the acapella part at the beginning of the second version of the song below.

Then the song lifts to a new dimension. In the second part, I hear jubilation and strength, life and beauty coming out of the darkness – being revealed through the darkness – coming forth in spite of the darkness – because of the vision, prayers and faith of the people. The prayer has finally been answered. The vision is now come to pass. We went to “this place that offers shelter” within, and we transformed life into this beautiful city.

The Gotham City song is sad in the beginning. Then at 1:57 it turns upward with optimism, vision, focus, resolve and faith in what he introduces at 2:10 – a “place that offers shelter“. This “place” the vamp sings of, pushes us through to the triumphant chorus at 2:15.

I see that “place” as the eye of the storm where the peace of God within, and the faith in the bright vision within, brings us through to the triumph and beauty we hear 2:15 and throughout the rest of the song, ending with happy children (signifying peace and love now and in coming generations).

A Bright New Vision

Since I have never made a YouTube video and it would probably take much me longer than a lot of you who are good at it, I’m going to just throw this out there if anyone wants to grab the vision and run with it.

If anyone can hear and see the vision of hope that I see and hear in this song – if you hear the joy and peace – if you hear the celebration – if you can see a vision of a bright Gotham City in this music, I want to throw a challenge out to the YouTube video geniuses out there to create a Gotham City video with a redemptive feel.

It Takes a Vision to Manifest

I ask this because for us to manifest unity in our world, we first need to see it within ourselves as a people. We need to envision it. Rather than mourn the tragic state of affairs – and rather than feeling the sorrow of our loss, we need to feel THE VISON and enjoy it’s joy. We need to believe it is possible. We need to have faith and hope and belief in it. And we need to love the idea and the feeling that comes with it.

I would like to see lots of visionary “Gotham City Reloaded” videos out there that will spark our imaginations. Videos that will inspire people with joy, hope, desire, faith, motivation and expectation.  Videos that will inspire people to really want to create this brighter version of the world.

God has blessed you YouTube movie makers with creativity. Thank you for all for your work. You give us stuff to work with. Your inspiring work does a lot towards making a difference in our world.

Here’s to our new and improved Gotham City.  Show us your vision.  Show us your stuff.

When we look at the world, sometimes it can be hard to know where to turn, what to believe and who to trust.  So many people are hurting and don’t know what to think, how to feel and what to do. Some are doing their best just to survive and stay sane from day to day. People are looking for answers.  People are looking for help.  People are looking for hope. Everyone needs something to believe in.

I’m hoping that I Wanna Get Free – Heal Your Life will be able to help us with that.

Where does all this tension, strife and pain come from?? Well, believe it or not, I don’t believe it’s confined to big business, wars, prejudice and race wars. It’s just that this is where we more easily see/recognize it because of the obvious toll on a global scale. It’s just that this is where it’s big enough to attract enough attention and support (or simply fuel) from other like-minded people. But it appears to originate from a tiny widespread seed.  A seed whose effect has multiplied and reverberated across entire cultures, even across the world.

Is it possible that the only reason we are able to see fear, intolerance, greed, selfishness, disrespect and even cruelty on larger scales is because it already existed on much smaller scales? It’s hard to say this, but couldn’t it be that the only reason we see this like this is because it exists on a smaller scale to some degree within the family unit and within us?

Everyone has his or her own opinions and feelings about these tragically discordant situations between people. Clearly, those on each side feel they are right, or in some way justified. Both sides of every situation we come across in life (corporately and individually) have their own experiences, interpretations and feelings about what is happening and why. Yet neither has lived the other’s experience, so it can be difficult to relate. Each side has its own understanding. Right on down to religions, sects and denominations. Right on down to neighbors and friends. Right on down to trouble within families and between couples.

I would like to suggest that what we see in these video clips is merely the exponentially multiplicative result of our own collectively unconscious human natures.  If people didn’t have problems with each other at home, school or work, I doubt we’d have such division on a national and international scale either.

If we all were better at listening and resolving family, work and school matters with others, then to the same degree, wouldn’t we take that problem-solving skill and the character we’d developed with us into every part of our world?  If enough people did so, there would collectively be more harmony in this world, perhaps even solidarity.

Should it not also follow, then, that in order to become better at resolving matters with others (or simply not taking issue with others), we need to be conscious of and clear on the concerns from both sides?  Therefore, in order to be understanding and respectful of others, I’d think we’d need first to have a clear and open heart and mind ourselves to be willing to hear what may feel uncomfortable or seem inconvenient.

That can be a challenge.  In order to understand and be accepting of others, we need to first know, understand and be accepting of all the things we hide from ourselves.  In order to resolve matters with others or be at peace with others, we need to first be at peace and resolved within ourselves.

Until we become more self-aware – until we find ways to alleviate our own conscious and unconscious fears, guilt and shame – until we truly find peace with God/within ourselves – until we truly come to know, accept, love and develop ourselves, how much can we truly have the ability to love, honor and respect one another?

Many of us have self-esteem and shame issues from early childhood conditioning and from hard knocks in life. It is human nature to project problems onto each other that are too hard to face. These are defense mechanisms. To have defense mechanisms is to be human. It’s the way we unconsciously live.

Of course, some people’s minds are more unregenerated than others. But regeneration has to start somewhere. We can’t know exactly what that person has been through – what their experience of life has been.  Everyone needs to start somewhere. Some people are wiser and more conscious/self-aware than others. Often times, this has taken conscious effort.

Some had more secure head starts in life than others. Others have worked very hard to become conscious of and resolve some issues. Some have cleansed their minds and hearts and developed their character more than others. Yet sometimes even these well-meaning folk blindly fall prey to perpetrators of judgmentalism and intolerance. Everyone has issues until they are all resolved. No one is born and raised thinking perfectly. But the more mindful we can become of our part in becoming more harmonious in life, it would follow the more peace, harmony and happiness we should experience individually and collectively.

People want to be acknowledged, preserved, respected. They want to feel understood, or at least heard like they matter. But unless we’re willing to try to understand or at least treat others as we think we’d like to be treated, how will anything get better for the whole?

United we stand.  Divided we fall.

The world is crying out in pain.

Need.  Frustration.  Misunderstanding.  Anger.  Division.  Intolerance.  Greed.  Injustice.  Oppression.  Discouragement.  Abuse.  Desperation. Helplessness.  Hopelessness. Apathy.  Rage.  Hatred.  Revenge.  Violence.  In-fighting.  Chaos.  No End in Sight.

… Self-Annihilation of the Human Race.

“Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation, and every city or house against itself will not stand.” – Matthew 12:25

Michael Jackson (God bless his heart) may be controversial, but he’s got the heart and vision of a prophet… and the talent to carry the message too.  I’ve found many of the greatest artists to be in touch with either the soul of the world, the spirit of Life or both.  Because of the variety of his songs and his life experiences, Michael is one I feel is very much in touch with both. He’s got a lot of range.

While I’m sure much of this was inspired by his own trials and by civil rights injustices, I don’t believe the emotions expressed in this video are specific to him.  While there are very real issues posed, I wouldn’t say that these emotions are limited to any one race of people.  I do not present this video here on this site with bias toward or against any group of people.

In the long run, the spirit of this video is much bigger than that.  I present it to to illustrate the pain and division in the world… and for us to consider and be aware of the desperate feelings and angry effects.  This video reflects an epidemic of our time – even of all time.  Even all of the nouns stated at the beginning of this post.  Do they not take on a life of their own, such that they cannot be so easily contained that the effects don’t or won’t reverberate to all?  When one suffers, or in this case when a lot of people suffer, does it not affect us all?  What happens to people when all hope appears to be gone? What happens when people reach their limits?

And if intolerance, injustice and violence are served to some underdogs, does it not poison the pot for all others as well?  Once that spirit is allowed to permeate the atmosphere and weaken others, inciting desperation and rage in them, does it not grow and spread further in the form of apathy, hatred or more of the same?  Who can truly win in such a situation?

The first video was distorted as the lyrics were added, but I posted it because I first watched it with the lyrics and found it to be very powerful.  Afterward, I had a greater appreciation when I watched the actual video without the lyrics.  It is clearer, so I am posting it here as well.

In this video, I hear the world at its wits end, crying out in agony, frustration, helplessness, desperation – some to the point of rage. Do you hear it? What do you hear?

It’s a solemn, perhaps even sobering, question to ask oneself but it begs asking: “How many people actually feel this way for one reason or another?”

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month.  A good time to learn more about this epidemic that is sweeping through more families and relationships than many people are aware.

According to the Allstate Foundation’s site, Click to Empower, one (1) in every four (4) American women has directly experienced domestic violence.  It has been estimated that anywhere from 56% up to 74% of people know someone who has been affected by domestic violence.  Unfortunately (and I think understandably) no one likes to talk about it.

The stigma surrounding the issue of domestic violence leaves victims on their own with no one to talk with who understands.  Victims often become more and more isolated and caught in a downward cycle of abuse. In association with the National Network to End Domestic Violence, the Allstate Foundation is sponsoring “Tell a Gal P.A.L.”

The purpose of “Tell a Gal P.A.L.” is to help raise the public’s awareness of domestic violence, to remove some of the stigma so that people can talk about it and get help, and to help abused women empower themselves.

Telling a friend is also a preventive measure so that those who have not been personally affected by domestic violence can not only recognize the signs, but empower themselves prior to finding themselves in such a situation.

Since the catch phrase is “Tell a Gal P.A.L.”, I feel it is worth acknowledging here that while the majority of domestic violence cases affect women, domestic violence can also claim male victims.  Women, then, are not the only ones who may need support.  It can be even harder for men to discuss it because oftentimes people don’t expect “real men” to be abused.  Abuse is abuse, and an abusive person is simply abusive, male or female.  Often physical violence can begin insiduously with emotional and verbal abuse that confuses the person and wears the victim down mentally.  So then it’s important to accept that it can happen to “real men” – men who have values, care about and respect others, and who like to treat a woman like a lady (that qualifies as a real man in my book).   Perhaps everyone who faces these horrid situations could be better supported if a greater understanding existed of the dynamics of domestic violence across the board.

Nothing touches us as deeply as the warmth of close relationships.  Nothing inspires us as much as love.  Whether it is the love of a parent for a child, the spiritual love experienced in the presence of God, or the love of a man for a woman – whether it is a calm mature unconditional love or the immature love of frenzied infatuation and validation-seeking, the sensation of or even the hope of love impacts our lives unlike many other experiences.

Love has the power to raise us to the highest heights of inspiration and motivation. Sometimes the experience of unconditional love and someone’s faith in us can turn our lives around.  Unconditional Love has a divine quality with the ability to bring out the best, and heal lives and self-images.

The openness and vulnerability of Love also has the power to bring us face to face with responsibility, life’s lessons, and even ourselves.  Love can take us to the depths of sadness, despair and self-reckoning.  Sometimes, however this is the catalyst of profound epiphanies.  If we’re conscious, it can be the first stage of healing our broken places.

Boundless Love – Power of Love (BL) is a place to discuss all things love-related as they affect our lives very personally.  It is a place to celebrate Love both in song and via your personal “shout-outs” and testimonies.

Boundless Love is, in a sense, a branch of I Wanna Get Free – Heal Your Life.  When a post I have in mind is more appropriate for Boundless Love, I will post it there.  As indicated in this post for Ever-Present Abundance, I cannot say with what frequency I will be posting here as my main focus will be on IWannaGetFREE.

IWannaGetFREE was originally inspired by a long-held belief that “We are not created to struggle body bound, but to LIVE SpiritFREE! ^TM“ It has been a long time coming, and is the result of a life of seeking, lived both determined for soul freedom and dedicated to higher principles.  Yet it was finally birthed out of recent challenges, trials, introspection, meditation and research.

The purpose of IWannaGetFREE is multi-fold:
1.    to explore our divine/human nature and our relationship to God, each other and our world
2.    to inspire hope and provide resources to liberate the soul
3.    to promote awareness, peace, freedom and harmony, both within and in our larger spheres
4.    to discover ways to transform troublesome issues into wholeness in every area of our lives.

While I intend for the bulk of my more serious efforts to be devoted to IWannaGetFREE, Ever-Present Abundance (EPA) is IWannaGetFREE’s joyful counterpart.  It is the inspiration that makes IWannaGetFREE sing.

While IWGF reasons, rationalizes and philosophizes, EPA simply is.

While IWGF is researches mild to serious personal and community matters and discusses ideologies and ways to empower ourselves and heal situations, EPA simply revels in wonder, resonates with the higher vibrations discussed and gives thanks.

IWGF is psychological and spiritual on the more rational side, while EPA is much lighter.  It is affirming, abundant and spiritual in a more instinctual sort of way.

One addresses pain and struggle in an empowering way through the wisdom of principles, while the other offers a community haven in which to help lift ourselves from struggles by focusing on wonderful things and on the richness of life.

Ever-Present Abundance is a meditation of sorts in boundlessness, freedom, peace, love, joy, harmony, abundance, providence, wholeness and perfection.  It is a place to learn to take the limits off of yourself and God.  While the Ever-Present Abundance blog exists on this BA domain, it may also be reached via the shortcut, http://everpresentabundance.com.

EPA is a place to celebrate, meditate on and rejoice in all that is good, happy, wonderful, limitless and divine in life.  It is a place to share and discuss the plenipotentiary joys and wonders of life – from the simple to the profound – from the most easily understood joys to deep, abstract, metaphysical and spiritual wonders.

Ever-Present Abundance inspires the mind to embrace higher thinking and greater possibilities, and to the soul to reach higher heights spiritually.  EPA places an emphasis on positivism, faith and on allowing ourselves to be built up and become free from within.

Ever-Present Abundance reminds us of all we are thankful for, or it encourages us to open our eyes and look more closely to find those things.  It celebrates beauty, ideals and hope, and it encourages you to dream again.  Ever-Present Abundance can be a magical playground for our minds – a recess from the “daily grind” – a breath of fresh air.

EPA is a place to be happy.  It is a place to give thanks.  It is a place to encourage others and also be supported by sharing your testimonies of faith, thankfulness, providence and good fortune with others.
