Collecting issues first published as part of the Boundless launch of 2010, this collection features the storytelling talents of original creator Brian Pulido and fan favorite writer Mike Wolfer (WAR GODDESS, STITCHED, NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD), with gorgeous artwork by newcomer Marcelo Mueller.

LADY DEATH VOLUME 1 introduces Illadra, a young thief and fighter. Allied with a group of bandits in medieval Spain, she does not remember her previous life — her existence as Lady Death, the queen of an otherworldly dimension called the Under Realm. Stripped of her divine power and dethroned by the mysterious Death Queen, she was banished to Earth and only now begins to see glimpses into her true identity. Driven to collect the shattered fragments of her power that have been scattered across the planet, Illadra quests to dangerous, deadly locations worldwide, fighting supernatural menaces. With every challenges she overcomes, she comes closer to reassuming her previous glory… and solving the mystery of Death Queen’s identity.

First up, let’s talk WAR GODDESS #5. If you’ve been following the series, you know that WAR GODDESS centers on the mythical immortal Pandora, who accidentally unleashed demonic evil on the world centuries ago and spent the ages since in constant, bloody warfare against them. Just when she thought all the evils had been slaughtered, a scientific experiment gone awry (one she had funded and therefore been responsible for) opened portals throughout the world to a dark matter universe — opening the 21st century equivalent of Pandora’s Box. In the first story arc, our War Goddess reunited old allies Widow and Anathema to face hulking monsters and the menace of Hellina. The new story arc, written by master horror scribe Mike Wolfer (Lady Death, Stitched) and illustrated by Pow Rodrix, revisits the heroine’s Grecian past, and the evils that she once contained there: a vile villainess named Satheeno and her enslaved band of murderous harpies.

Lady Death’s come a long way in twenty years. In 2010, Boundless Comics launched the monthly series of LADY DEATH, which has run unabated ever since. Written by original creator Pulido alongside the aforementioned Mr. Wolfer, the new series set Lady Death on a quest to medieval Earth, then returned her to face her long-lost and beloved mother’s menace as the twisted usurper Death Queen. In the latest issue, Lady Death finds that the rebel factions working against Death Queen are fractured and distrusting. Furthermore, her own resolve has been shaken by the revelations of her mother’s villainy, the death of a loyal ally, and the betrayal of her friend Satasha. Can she rekindle the fires of rebellion in the arguing factions, and unite them under her banner in time to face the hulking killer Behemoth?

With this week’s release of LADY DEATH #12, the folks at Boundless Comics feel a bit like boxing promoters — because this latest issue features not one, but two bloody bouts between the Under Realm’s deadliest contenders!  For the first match-up, Wargoth faces the brutish Behemoth… and for the main event, Lady Death takes on Stigmata!  The most iconic characters in the LADY DEATH mythos are duking it out, and much like Apollo Creed in Rocky IV, one of these fighters won’t be leaving the ring alive!

But how can Lady Death possibly prevail over an untouchable enemy who can infect and possess her victims with but a single drop of her own blood? The mighty Wargoth, meanwhile, faces a decisive battle of his own, as Death Queen’s chief assassin Behemoth confronts the rebellion’s surrogate leader. This time, however, Behemoth’s powers have been boosted by the magical energy of the revenge-seeking Satasha, who was once Wargoth’s closest ally.
