Show your patriotic spirit with red, white, and blue hair combs! Use the Ribbon-to-Bead to easily add beads and bows to hair clips. Last week, I made formal ribbon and bead hair combs (click here for tutorial). My young daughter has thick wavy hair and the hair clips were perfect to pull her here hair back. She requested a few more hair clips this time with bows and brighter colors! Materials Needed: 2.25″ Hair Clips Ribbon-to-Bead (Light Blue) 5/8″ Red Grosgrain Ribbon 3/8″ White Satin Ribbon Large Eyed Beads Mini Bowdabra Hair Bow Tool & Ruler Silver Bowdabra Bow Wire Instructions: 1. Begin by following the instructions to wrap hair combs with ribbon-to-bead. Add two beads to each side of the combs. 2. Place the Hair Bow Tool & Ruler onto the Mini Bowdabra. Cut 18″ of Bowdabra Bow Wire and fold it in half and place it into the Mini Bowdabra. 3. Cut 8.5″ of 5/8″ red grosgrain ribbon. Cut the ribbon ends at opposite angles. We give honor to those who serve and who have served in our Armed Forces for Memorial Day. It also seems to kick off picnic season in the mid-west! Good bye winter and hello to pool season! So many of us think of Memorial Day as a wonderful holiday. It’s the start of the Summer season. The kids may be out of school already or will be shortly. The city pools are open and it’s time to get the swimsuits out. Let us not forget, though, why we have this fun holiday. It’s a time to remember those who have fought the wars for us in the past so that we may live in a free country and also a time to remember those who are still out there fighting for our freedoms wherever they may be. DIY Tutorial: Formal Hair Combs with Ribbon and Beads

Design formal hair combs using Morex’s Ribbon-to-Bead. The Ribbon-to-Bead has a wire threader attached to the end of the ribbon making it easy to thread beads onto the ribbon. Wrap hair combs with ribbon and finish with pretty beaded accents. I love hair combs! They are versatile and can be worn so many ways! Materials Needed: Hair Combs 2.75″ Large Eyed Beads Sheer Leopard Print Ribbon-to-Bead Instructions: 1. Begin with a 2.75″ plastic comb. Completely unroll the Ribbon-to-Bead from the spool. Tie the end of the ribbon around the first comb prong. Leave a small tail. 2. Next, begin to wrap the ribbon around the top of the comb in-between each comb prong. Fold the tail to the back of the comb and cover it with the wrapped ribbon. 3. Wrap the ribbon all the way to the end of the comb. 4. Next, wrap the ribbon around the comb prong at the end and back around the top of the comb. 5. Continue wrapping the ribbon around each comb prong and then around the top of the comb.
