The first acts have finally been confirmed for Tramlines, the festival which is set to invade the very soul of the steel city for a long weekend this July. DJ Zinc, Toddla T, Reverend and the Makers, Little Boots, The LAs, Oneman, Martelo, Raf Daddy and Pixie Lott are all amongst the lucky acts to be dropping their shit at DQ or lighting up a - hopefully - 5000 strong crowd down at Devonshire Green. This is shaping up to be big big big.

Head over to the official Tramlines site for more info.

Some mouths on the internet have been going on about how Moth is definitely Burial’s brainchild and Wolf Cub belongs more so to Four Tet. It’s the other way round guys c’mon! Maybe after repeated listens these idiots realised the error in their ways and corrected the reviews, I wouldn’t know because I Parental Control blocked their shoddy excuses for websites in a fit of rage and I now need my mum to unblock them. Does it really matter? No because both tracks are sweeter than the guilty pleasure of ‘accidently’ pouring too much sugar in your tea (straight from the bag hell yeah). Even after all the hype, some people have never heard of Burial, some people have never heard of Four Tet. Have a listen on the old Hype Machine.

Bop came to my attention when he was featured on the Hospital Records podcast a few months ago and even though I took his endearingly delicate brand of drum & bass to heart, it was only recently that I actually decided to invest some British currency in it. Well, ‘Song About My Dog’ has been on a continuous loop for about 3 days now and I’m a little worried that I still like it. Euphoric piano rolling effortlessly on a bed of ethereal percussion, it’s got that feel of epic calm which usually sends a shiver through your soul during the penultimate scene of a particularly uplifting film. You need to hear this.

Open your diary, turn to the page which harbours the barren wasteland of May 22 and pick up a pen, I have an entry for you. Repeat after me: Suckerpunch vs Tuesday Club. Excellent, that’s a binding contract and now that you’re definitely going I think it would be pertinent for me to detail what delights await you at DQ next Friday. Capital breaks duo Ctrl Z are heading up the proceedings, followed by 2 versus sets; TTC’s Mikey J versus resident TimmyDutch and Andy H versus Mr. Shanks, who also bear the same respective loyalties. TJRM rounds off the bill, ensuring some minimal vibes that will leave your limbs feeling like you’ve necked a whole vial of liquefied kryptonite. Attendance is compulsory, resistance is futile.
