Brad Murray shared thisTonight I had the opportunity to take a walk down memory lane at the 3M Innovation Center. This time not as an employee, but as a student in the University of Minnesota Technical Leadership Institute. As I walked past each booth, I saw one of the first products I worked on at 3M: the Smart Filter. My first reaction was a quiet mental fist shake as the long days and hard technical challenges came rushing back. Then I remembered the people I tackled those challenges with. For every platform, product, or patent represented in that room that I had a hand in bringing to life, it’s the people that stand out most. Even though I no longer work at 3M, I’m deeply grateful for the teammates, mentors, and friends who shaped how I think and how I lead. I’m just as fortunate today to work alongside an incredible group of smart, driven people at RTX. Different mission, same respect for the humans doing the work. We need challenges to grow, but we also need the experience and resolve of others to accomplish anything meaningful. If we ever built, debated, or debugged something together back then, I’d genuinely love to reconnect. It’s been a while, and that is something worth fixing.

An AI agent harness is everything between the model API and the business outcome: tool connections, context and memory, the agent loop, guardrails, and the runtime. Almost everything written about harnesses so far is aimed at the engineers building them. The architecture decision behind it gets much less attention. Model-layer lock-in is dead as a vendor strategy. Models commoditize in months and every platform now advertises model choice. The vendors did not become generous. They moved the lock-in one level higher, into the layer that does not commoditize. Your models change every release cycle. Your harness accumulates agent definitions, tool integrations, context about how your business runs, and hard-won knowledge about what fails. After eighteen months, the model is a config setting and the harness is your architecture. Today, as I reflect on this milestone, I’m incredibly grateful for every chapter of it. Over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to grow across roles, build lasting relationships with remarkable customers and colleagues, and help organizations navigate some of their most important transformations. Today, as Managing Director for our Financial Services Go-To-Market team, I work alongside industry advisors, consultants, Solution Engineers, and sales teams to help enterprise customers shape their business and AI transformation strategies. The work has evolved significantly, from digital transformation and customer engagement to helping some of the world’s biggest and most inspiring brands define and operationalize enterprise AI strategies across marketing, sales, and service. Along the way, I’ve had the privilege of working with 40 to 50 clients each year, leading more workshops than I can count, and filling countless whiteboards with ideas, strategies, operating models, customer journeys, and transformation plans. Some of the most rewarding moments have started with a blank whiteboard, a challenging business problem, and a room full of people willing to think differently. Of course, the journey has also included a lot of airline miles, hotel points, early-morning flights, late-night arrivals, and more airport carpets than any one person should reasonably be able to recognize. At this point, #AirportCarpet may be one of my deepest areas of expertise. What continues to inspire me is the opportunity to bring together people, data, technology, and emerging capabilities such as generative AI and autonomous agents to create measurable business value for our customers. Salesforce has changed tremendously since I started. The products, the market, and the scale of our ambition have all evolved, but what has remained constant is the caliber of the people and our commitment to customer success. I’m deeply thankful to all the sales leaders, Account Executives, Solution Engineers, advisors, consultants, customers, partners, and colleagues who have challenged me, supported me, and made this journey so rewarding.
