Hey, look at that! Facebook added Google+-like keyboard shortcuts for reading! If you use FB, you can press J and K to move the selection down and up (just like here!), L to like the selected post, or C to comment. There may be more, but those are the ones I've found.

I saw Skyfall. If you like Bond films, I recommend you see it, too.

I saw Skyfall. If you like Bond films, I recommend you see it, too.

Today, Google shuttled hundreds of Googlers to see Skyfall, the new James Bond flick. Here are some thoughts:

• I dressed in a suit. Seemed appropriate. Felt awkward the rest of the day, though.
• I liked the movie a lot. Certainly more than Quantum of Solace, but then again, I didn’t really like Quantum of Solace. No cool gadgets worth mentioning, but there are a few bits of humor, some blasts from the past, and a plot that’s fun—just don’t think about it too much. (If you find yourself asking, “Why didn’t he just …”, simply answer yourself with, “Because then there wouldn’t be a movie.”)
• Google completely took over several theaters. Everyone seeing it was a Google employee. I could hear many people quietly snickering at the various bits of technobabble¹.

A few notes about the stuff before the movie:
• Funniest Ad: A Sears commercial before the previews. You think it’s one thing, then bam! Biggest laugh of the afternoon.
• Best Targeting for an Ad: A startup called Quorum is looking for engineers who’d like to join a startup. Well done, Quorum—hundreds of Google engineers saw your ad.
• Worst Targeting for an Ad: Two ads for Ask.com. I could be wrong, but I think this was more of a Google crowd.

¹ To this date, the worst bit of technobabble I’ve ever heard was on the television show 24. “The number strings are caught in a loop matrix!”
