Dude goes to jail for life for loaning out his car

Wow, that just doesn’t seem fair.

In jail for life without any possibility of parole

All he did was lend his roommate his car.

Sure, it does seem to teeter there right on the edge.

He knew they were going to go rob the drug dealer and they did mention they were probably going to have to knock the girl out but he thought they were joking and had been drinking so wasn’t in full possession of his faculties.

He knew what all they had said but sometimes talk is just talk

All he did was lend his roommate his car.

Extrapolating from this, shouldn’t the car dealership be held accountable? They didn’t know a murder was going to happen but they should have been aware that, by all feasibility, one could.

What about burger king? Should they be held accountable for feeding the villains? Without nourishment, they would not have been able to get to the house to do the deed.

It can go further and further out and get sillier and sillier but really though, where does the culpability stop?

All he did was lend his roommate his car.

I feel for the family of the girl, would be inconsolable if I lost my child but I would be incensed if I lost my son to just being a friend.

Just when I start feeling, better about the human race some piece of human trash knocks my meter back to zero

There was this piece of human waste who had two daughters. Cute little girls I think like four and one
She locked them in her car in Texas for 15 hours during the heat of the summer day
So she could go party with her friends.
These poor innocent children
            *God this just breaks my heart*
These children who look up to mommy as their guide. Their protector. Literally, their everything.
A child's trust in their parents is one of the purest things on the planet and she just let them die.
At one point, someone came into the house that she was partying at and said, "Your kids are in the car screaming. Should we let them in the house?"
To which she said, "No. they will cry themselves to sleep"
Finally the next morning...God, the next morning
She eventually goes out the next morning and only then decides to call an ambulance
One doctor worked for 40 hours straight trying to save the little girl's life while her mother stayed at a local motel because it would be more comfortable then being by her child's side.
When she did make it to the hospital it was to giggle and text her friends while her baby fought for her life.
Both little girls died.
They died in pain, wondering what they did so wrong that their mommy would lock them in an oven and never come back.

On 12/18, this garbage of a person was sentenced to forty years in prison.
Forty years?
That is not enough.
Why does she get to live?
She needs to be sentenced to forty years in a small metal box
A small box wide enough that she can't sit down and short enough that she can't stand up in
Surrounded by sunlamps
Then every 15 hours brought out, given fluids, allowed to recuperate as much as possible in the next nine hours while having to listen to cries and screams of children
and then sent right back in.

I know that this is just fantasy but forty years in prison is just not enough punishment
I can only hope that someone at the prison finds out what she did and is able to extract some measure of revenge for these poor children

In your body you have pain receptors and when you take a painkiller, the medication goes to these receptors and shuts them off.
The problem is, is that you have the same receptors in your gut as you do in your brain and the medication does not have a way to discriminate as to which ones to shut off.
This is why extended use of any painkillers will slow down and stop your bowels.

They have created a medication now that goes to your guts receptors and turns them all back on.
What this does for me is every day for about the first three to four hours I have excessive bouts of diarrhea. I may have one or two normal logs but after that, it is just all liquid.
It can also be quite painful as my now woke intestines shake and pulse and pump to try and get all the waste out.

I learned the hard way when the proper time to take the medication was. I used to take it when I was getting ready for work, so about 6am, I would leave for work and by the time I arrived at 6:45 I would need to use the restroom.
However
Something changed one day
Everything was going just as normal and my wife and I were almost to her office to drop her off when I felt this overwhelming need to defecate.
Literally, "OH SHIT"
I clenched up and figured "Ok no big deal I will just need to go into her office and use their restroom"
Then it stopped, went away, the urge was gone just as quickly as it had come on.
" Ok..." I thought, "This was just a warning shot across the bow"
I was wrong. It was not a warning shot. It was an ambush!
I dropped my wife off and had gotten no more than 3 blocks away when the urge came back as a necessity.
This wasn't an "OH by the way" message I was getting
This was a "This is happening now with or without you" message
Its 630 in the morning in the middle of downtown
There is nothing open
There is nowhere to go
As I accelerate through the streets, trying to get to work as quickly as I could, I actually thought about pulling over and using the street. I knew the kind of liquid mess that I was dealing with and how long I would need to be sitting there in the middle of the street with my ass hanging out.
This was not an option.
I got to work and slammed the van into park right by the doors.
Awkward kind of a loping run to the doors and dash into the lobby
I am hurting now and using all my willpower to hold my sphincter tight
The building has no public bathrooms and my office is on the eighth floor
I figure I would get to the sixth floor, as that was the first bathroom I had access.
As the elevator slowly makes its way up the shaft, I get my first turtlehead poking out.
I am now dancing about the elevator in pain and... shock? No... anxiousness
I know now it is going to be a photo finish and as each floor goes by, I start to doubt my ability to win, place or show.
Finally, the doors go ding and slide open.
I take one-step out and immediately shit my pants
So now, here it is 6:45 in the morning
The day hasn't even started yet and I have already
Enduring agonizing pain
Broken a handful of traffic laws
Embarrassed myself beyond all measure
So with a resounding "NO" I long step it to the bathroom and strip as quickly as possible to finish this deluge of liquid shit exiting my body as if from a garden hose.
I think all the holding it in compiled with the mental anguish pretty much stuck it all at the door waiting to leave.
There were a few stragglers waiting to leave the establishment but it didn't take long to clear them out.
It didn't take long.
I cleaned up as best I could and wrapped up my soiled undergarments in toilet paper and tossed them in the dumpster on my way back to the van.
My day was over.
I went back home
Took a shower
Threw all my clothes in the washing machine
and called into work saying I was not going to be in that day

Music.

Some people live and breathe by their music, bleed for it even.
Some people couldn't care less about music, they don't listen to the radio, albums, iPod, Zune, whatever or seek out new music at all. I fall into this category. I just don't listen to music anymore. I think it came from my brief stint living in Atlanta where I had a four hour commute (one-way) to work each day and I would hear the same songs over and over on the radio.
After a while I just stopped caring about listening to music.

but everyone has a favorite song, album or artist. The stuff they can always listen to.

For me, off the top of my head and in no particular order:
Queen - Queen just made good music, so many songs to choose from but I like just about every song on their album "a kind of magic"
This was the soundtrack for the 1986 movie Highlander and both the album and the movie are earmarks in my development

Alan Parsons Project - tales of mystery and imagination:
This is a themed album of songs derived from the works of Edgar Allen Poe. It is also the very first CD I ever bought.

David Bowie - Heroes, Changes, Under Pressure, Space Oddity, Never let me down. Geesh, I could go on.

Once more with Feeling - this is the soundtrack to the musical episode of Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
Not only are the tunes catchy, I mean really catchy, where they stick in your brain like peanut butter on the roof of your mouth
but the show was also a bonding moment between my kids and I, making it extra special

Sweeny Todd - this is the soundtrack to the movie starring Johnny Depp. They did a good job. On the rare occasions, I listen to music this is what I can always listen too.

Phil Collins - I like his solo stuff like No Jacket Required but I can dig some Genesis too.

Dean Martin - Ain't that a kick in the head. Probably my all-time favorite song

The way this year has gone and still happy

In use a few short months my family has gone trough some fire

My wife’s breast cancer returned which was closely followed by a full mastectomy. Then as she grows her new rack she is also going through the awful kemo therapy. So a very vane and proud woman is having to hide beneath a wig as she continues to go to work each day. She is always tired and nothing tastes the same.but I strive on.

I drove a old 88 Taurus that started to have issues.I ended up getting hit, both front and back by uninsured drivers,ina two week period. One was a hit and run. Went out and spent a grand I did not have to purchase a car just to get to and from work.drove great on the way home and after tiling it and tagging it I drove it to work. On the way home I couldn’t get it to go above 30 mph. The PCM has gone out. So now we carpool until I can get the money together for that.but I strive on

My job is stressful as I work for a tech firm that our major client could go away at anytime and take my job with it. I live in constant pain each and everyday due to chronic constipation from my pain meds sowing down my guts.

So with all of this why am i posting this as happy? Because on July fourth I became a grandfather for the first time. The situation with my daughter and the father is, well there isn’t one but that’s ok. My granddaughter is a beautiful little girl who already has me twisted around her pinky finger, just like her mom did. Couldn’t love my girls more and I am happy they are in my life.

Maybe this doesn’t belong in as happy. Maybe I just wanted to vent a little . I think it is more like I have a gargantuan shitburger on my plate right now (that could easily be solved with a suitable application of large amounts of cash) an yet with all of that plus Christmas rolling up fast I still can find the glimmer of happy in my life and death grip it like a mountaineer dangling from a rope,

Ron and Dave on a Boat

A long, long, l o n g time ago back when I was in High School I went camping with my best friend Ron and his family. They were gracious and kind enough to invite me to El Dorado lake for the weekend, this guy whose idea of "roughing it" was a hotel with no attached restaurant and the pool was outside, in a tent.

Anyway we left after school on a Friday so once we got there it was dusk and the sun was dropping fast. Ron's dad backed the truck up to the boat dock and we launched the bass boat out into the lake and started putting out with a hearty "we will see you at the campsite"

So here we are boating across the lake. Ron driving and I am sitting there just staring out across the lake like a scene out of some kind of remedial Miami Vice episode.

Suddenly I hear/felt a "sqish"

Sqish?

I look down and my feet are splashing in a couple of inches of water. I look behind me to the back of the boat and the back of the boat is full of water.

Now before I go on let me mention that due to a mishap at a YMCA pool when I was really young, I have a healthy dose of aquaphobia. It's not a crippling amount but I do get anxious around large bodies of water and, as such, have never learned how to swim.

Anyway

I point to the back of the rapidly filling boat and yelling to be heard over the engine "IS THAT NORMAL?!"

Ron looks back and looks back at me with his eyes as wide as hubcaps "WE FORGOT TO PUT THE BOAT PLUG IN!"

"WHERE IS IT?" I yell back as the water is now lapping at my ankles

"SEE IF YOU CAN FIND IT" he yells back and goes back to driving but I could tell his brain was now doing its mental gymnastics trying to figure out the best course of action. When Ron thought hard, you could actually see him think.

I went to the back of the boat to see if I could find a boat plug. Before this moment I did not know boats had plugs so I was now looking for something that

A. I didn't know what looked like.

B. Could very well not even be in the boat

C. The sun had dropped out of the sky by now

After a bit I located a black thingamabob and held it up "IS THIS IT?"

"YEAH, STICK IT IN THE HOLE"

So I proceed to try and jam the black plug into the small hole that water is gushing out of like faster then a garden hose

"IT WONT GO IN" Now there must have been something in my voice that alerted Ron as he yelled back

"DON'T PANIC"

I didn't realize I was panicking however as I mentioned before... I am anxious

"IM NOT! YET!"

"KEEP TRYING"

"I AM.... GOT IT!"

So, with the hole finally plugged he flipped on the bilge pumps to pump all the water out of the boat.

The water didn't budge.

It was a considerable amount of water and the tiny little pumps were not touching it.

"OK HERE IS THE PLAN" Ron yelled (so many previous and future mishaps were started with those words) "I AM GOING TO GO REALLY FAST

AND WHEN I SAY NOW TAKE THE PLUG OUT. THE SPEED SHOULD CREATE A VACUUM AND PULL THE WATER OUT."

...........Sounded feasible to me.

So Ron sped up the boat and yelled NOW and I pulled the plug back out of the boat

He did circles in the dark, he did loops, he did straight lines really, really fast.

We now had more water in the boat.

So we gave up on the science approach and I jammed the plug back in. I tried bailing for a bit but I had nothing but my hands to use as we finally pulled up to the campsite.

I believe the pumps ran all night long and by the next morning, we had a fully functional, nothing remotely like a submarine, boat again.

The End

Oh and on a side note, later that day we went back to where we had been doing all of our zooming around in the dark to find out that we had been in a forest the whole time.

We should have crashed into a tree like a speeder bike in Return of the Jedi.

I related this story to my daughter last night and all I had to menion were boats and lakes and she immediatly pipped up "You didnt forget the boat plug did you?!". She is lightyears ahead of me already.

Now Nature takes care of her own and when she decides it is time for a species to move on that's ok. They had their time and now it is time for another to take its place.
When man steps in and just through a pure sense of greed, want desire we are killing them off.
The great Auk was killed because they made great pillow fluff
The passenger pigeon were killed simply because there were a lot of them. A flock could take an hour to pass over and in one 3 month period hunters killed 50,000 of them a day.
The Carolina parakeet was easy to kill because as a species they would stop to mourn their dead.
Leave it to clay-footed man to interrupt the natural order of life.

Sure, a human plague would be nice to thin the herd but that wouldn't be a teaching event. If anything, it would sway us the other direction and make us feel more self-important as a species.

OK so HBO/Cinemax had a free preview weekend the other day and I went a bit overboard. I went to the theatre on Friday and saw 2 movies (it was to celebrate my wife and I 27th anniversary)and I guess figured I should not stop there.

I have Netflix and Amazon so I have never really considered getting the movie channels but after this binge I might need to just to calm my ass down.

In the 48-hour period, Saturday to Sunday, I spent 34 hours awake/conscious. I am sure it was less but using 7am as an anchor which should suffice. Saturday I was awake 7am to midnight and Sunday about the same 7am to midnight.

I tallied up the time-spent viewing for Saturday and Sunday by calculating the minutes of each movie. I spent a total of 23 hours and 41 minutes watching TV. I didn't count the bits of stuff I watched so that number is actually well over 24 hours.

I cannot account for those missing 10 hours but you know what? I am willing to bet that I was watching TV.

Granted Sunday I was wrapped around a heating pad the entire day but come on man
It's like I am just waiting around to die.

I have this stupid notion that if I dont leave the house it will not cost me any money. This is not the life I signed up for.

The shits starting to stack up again.

Money getting tight. Cars are making noises. Tires going bald. normal stuff that sucks but eat at your cash.
Job is stressful. Seems like I spend every day waiting to get the notice I am no longer employed.
My health isn't too keen. I am having intestinal issues when I spend the day in absolute blinding pain. I get relief one day a week and the rest I sit on the pain scale rolling back and forth from a 2 to a 9. Doc gave me some meds that are supposed to turn the gut pain sensors back on from my pain medication while leaving the Brain ones still numb, Id say it helps but doesn't resolve the issue, Like a car with no gas and you need to get cross country but all you have is a mason jar of gas each time the tank starts knocking. (You will have to excuse me if some of this gets fuzzy. I took my nightly Ambien and it is kicking in)
Daughter starting on a new adventure as a single mother. which for her is stressful/scary as hell but being her parent I cant help but feel the stress too. I can only pray the baby will be big and healthy and come out of the womb with a briefcase filled with unmarked bills.
Son has a mental capacity problem and an inherent laziness to boot so I fear he will never become anything. He is my son who holds my entire heart but he angers me with his lack of drive and his wide-eyed naivety.
Then just learn that my wives boobs are still trying to kill her. 5 or so years ago we had a cancer scare and treatment for breast cancer but we kicked its ass. however, now it is back and is going for the other one now. DAMMIT.

I try to count my blessings but when the curses start to dog pile on your shoulders eventually they wear you down till all you can see is just one little beam of light coming from betwixt the legs of one of he bodies blotting out the son.

It would be cool if there was a pool of money created by the fabulous wealthy, a humanitarian event for the middle class, where they ask you what will it take to get you to zero?
All the bills paid off for ever (like medical bills and house payments) and the monthlies for at least a year. New cars (well new to you cars) to replace the old, dead and dying, fill your food larders up to a packed capacity and get you all setup with the standards for life like life insurance and fraud insurance
Maybe even a 2 year scholarship as well for each member. Everything needed to just get you to a point where every paycheck you earn is now a plus and you can actually gain ground from there. Yeah that would be awesome and they wouldn't even just give you the money and leave you to your devices but have people help you get it all done too.
I wouldn't even need too much myself, just maybe 300,000 to get dropped to less than zero.Thats what it could be called too "LESS THAN ZER0"

The human body is pretty cool.
You have the same receptors in your gut that you do in your brain. To the point that you, in fact, have a second brain.

Ok so you have pain receptors in your brain but also in your gut
When you take pain medication (as I do) it indiscriminately shuts them all off both brain and stomach.
Well since everyone is asleep down there what this does then is cause chronic constipation.
You get too full and it hurts. Hurts like you have organs bursting and a spear sticking out of your side.

Thursday and Friday I was fine, just a 1 on the pain scale. No big deal. I was able to actually do stuff.
Saturday morning still doing great. I cleaned a room in the basement so my son could move down there.
Saturday afternoon though the pain jumped to a 3 and started rising
Sunday morning it was a solid 5 and I was bent over double at my desk
and grew
By the end of the work day on Monday, I was at an 8 almost a 9 on the pain scale.

I was sitting in my car to go home sweating and shaking from the pain and I still had two errands to run. At each errand, I waited for a break in pain waves and then ran in, got what I needed while talking stilted and awkward and through my gritted teeth and ran back out.
Tuesday I didn't even go to work. It didn't hurt as bad as on Monday but I was exhausted from holding it all together.
Wednesday I went to work feeling fine and went by the doctors that afternoon. He had me lay down and thumped my midsection and my left side sounded like a watermelon.
An X-ray was taken and he confirmed that I was indeed full of shit. All the way up. My wife could have told him that.
He prescribed me this new medication they have developed just for this issue.
What this pill does is it goes to the receptors in your gut and turns them back on.

Therefore, with some hope on the horizon I went home with my 3 weeks of samples and popped one in for the day.
And waited.
I figured that since it was a gradual issue with the pain medication, where the gut receptors had slowly started shutting off as time went by, that this pill would slowly turn them back on over time.

I was wrong.

This pill should be named revelry.

I took the pill about 4pm and went to watch "The Office"
It must have flew down to the stomach breaking apart little escape shuttles as it went and they all started flipping toggle switches on immediately.

By 5 I was gurgling
By 5:30 I was bloating and starting to hurt
By 6 I was back to sitting on the couch with my butt clenched unable to trust a single fart.

I.... I filled the bowl.
Twice.

So here we are on day two. I know this is just the beginning but so far I don't like this pill.
Oh it seems to be doing its job and doing it well
I took the pill this morning and by 10 I was in the work restroom.
It sounded like a garden hose spraying into the bowl.
I am debating on buying Depends.

So what does all of this mean for you? If you take strong pain medication regularly, watch out for the slowing of your bowels.
If you are experiencing this then there is a solution for you to try.

Today I am at a 1 maybe a 2 at the most.

I spent way, way too much time in front of the TV with the heating pad strapped to my back this Christmas break. Here are "some" of the things I watched in the 10 days of Christmas.
This doesn't count the sheer metric ton of crap I started and bailed on because I was not in the right mood to watch it.

Here are the ones I can remember over the 10 days

 Movies
Colossal - dang I thought this would be good. Anne Hathaway and Jason Sudeikis? Sure, but it is a colossal waste of time. Damn waste of celluloid to be sure. It just doesn't know if it wants to be. Is it a sci-fi flick, a drama, a comedy, a quirky fun romp or a serious whatever. It never picks a direction and runs at it but just bounces around which hobbles the whole story.  Amazon gives it a 6.2 and I give it a 2.5

 Autopsy of Jane Doe -- dumb. Not even good for a jump scare. Flimsy premise and just dumb.

 Bright - predictable but good. Better than I was expecting and left me wanting to see more of this world.

 NetherBeast Incorporated - I need to watch it again as I got distracted near the end but what I saw I liked. Hey! That's Steve from Blue's Clues!

 Starwars #7 - always good to watch but it's the same story at #4 just flashier I did go to se the new one but my daughter announced in the parking lot that she hadnt seen 7 so we went back home and watched it instead.

Office Christmas Party - ugh. Waste of time and talent

 Love the Coopers - not bad. Light and easy to digest.

 Burnt - not a huge Bradley Cooper fan but this wasn't too bad. I can see what they were going for and they almost made it.

 Bad Moms - Funny. Worth the time investment. Ending was a little trite though where everyone becomes friends but still good.

 Hardcore Henry - shite

 Religulous - I gotta watch it again. I fell asleep near the end.

 Bad Grandpa - didn't get past the 20-minute mark. I don't think being crass just to be crass is funny. A crude joke can be hilarious if used right but being crude just to be crude is dull.

 Bone Tomahawk - a good western with a horror flick sprinkled in. Kinda draggy in places but solid enough to watch again.

 Would you rather - to be honest this was I think, the 3rd time I had watched it. I just like the premise.

 Larry Crowne - I like Tom Hanks more then I dislike Julia Roberts. Not a bad movie. Kind of bland though.

 Astro Boy - wow there was a lot of talent attached to this movie. Some A level stars leant their voices to the movie. Hey at least china liked it (Japan, not so much)



Series Binged
John Claude Van Johnson - funny and actiony. I enjoyed it more than I thought I would. (watched 6 Episodes/season1)

 Parks and Recreation - always good. Threw an entire Saturday at it with that damned "ok just one more" (watched about 32 Episodes)

 Breaking Bad - always good. Lost a Sunday to it. (watched about 7 episodes)

 Bullshit! - Quite informative. Lots of cursing but I liked it. completed season 1 and working on 2. (watched 13 Episodes/season1)

 7 Deadly Sins - hey it was ok for background noise. Some were rather interesting but most were included for "shock" value (watched 7 episodes)

 Black Mirror - season 4 is good! Better then season 3. (watched 4 episodes of season 4)

 Ash Vs the Evil Dead - a guilty pleasure of mine. (watched 10 episodes/season2)

 Doctor Who - spent an entire day with the Doctor before the Christmas Special which was actually not too bad this yea. (watched about 13 episodes)

lets say you are on a aircraft traveling to wherever and suddenly half way there both pilots are stricken dead on the spot. Along comes the stewardess and she announces to the cabin "Is anyone here a pilot?" 2 people raise their hands
One is a pilot currently and has 20 years of experience but has been suspended for multiple infractions that endangered multiple flights and even resulted in a few deaths. The other is a businessman who has over 1000 hours of frequent flier miles and owns a couple of planes but has never set foot in a cockpit.
Now which one do you want to get you home?
I have voted for a republican candidate in every election I have been able to vote in but that was just by mere happenstance. I do not vote party, I vote on the weights and the merits of the candidate. What I saw during the election was a man standing up in front of hundreds of people and literally just saying what they wanted to hear. It was as if people were shouting from the audience and he was blindly promising whatever they wanted.
"I want healthcare" Ill give you the best healthcare
"I want jobs" I will give all the jobs
"I want a pony" I have Silver from the Lone Ranger waiting backstage for you

It was ridiculous and what scared me the most was people were eating it up.
Ok so I figured voting for Trump is a stupid idea. I like the idea of a businessman as president to kind of make some changes but not him, not Trump.
So I looked at the democrat choices and oh my God no. I could not vote for Hilary and be able to look myself in the eye afterward. She is corrupt, pure and simple.She is 100% politician and that makes her full of slime and poison (in my opinion,of course)
So I threw my vote to the independents and went home.
and the nation proceeded to VOTE THE BUSINESSMAN IN TO LAND THE FUCKING PLANE!! ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!
So now here we are with almost 25% of the term over with and he is proving himself to be incompetent and a joke. It is going to take quite a few years for the nation to get back the respect we had spent the last 200+ years building up.

I worked for a big aviation firm in an office setting.

I hated my job.

It was mind-numbingly boring and there was nothing resembling any sort of training.

I went into work one day despondent as usual. I was in a dark funk anyway as my father had recently passed.

I climbed into the great glass and brass elevator to head up to the third floor.

Standing there hating life and everything around me I noticed the gleaming brass wall next to the elevator buttons.

On impulse I leaned over and just ran my tongue up the length of it

I didn’t care.

To be honest it was my lil act of terroism. I had no way to get back at “the man” so I decided to slime the lift. Like I said spur of the moment. Not even really a decision I just...did it.

In my impotent rage, my only way to rage against the machine was the liberal application of my saliva.

Not proud of it. Like I said I was already in a dark hole.

In fact, didn’t even think about it again until the next morning when I woke with a sore throat.

Which kept me home as it kept getting redder and hotter

The CEO of a company's first duty is to the company. To keep a company viable they have to trim costs and grow gains, right?
Ok to a CEO an employee is an asset only as far as their profitability to the company. Meaning when you die your loss is not mourned, as you are a disposable piece.
The burnt out cog is removed and a new one is slotted in and the engine chugs on.

I think when everyone jumped on the bandwagon to bring this "businessman" into office so he could run the countries business they forgot this aspect.
Trump is going to cut corners and ruthlessly cut corners in his bid to Make America Great Again.
This means that everyone who relies on the government for any assistance be they veterans or the elderly or the poor are going to just shit outta luck.
For instance, welfare. Sure, some people abuse it and abuse the hell outta it.
However, the 80-year-old grandmother just trying to exist is not abusing it but she is going to be in the same boat as the 20-year-old mother of five who just don't wanna work.

How about healthcare? That is a problem right there. All of these countries in the world that actually take care of their citizens and yet we...just can't.
Just grabbing one at random, look at Norway?

No one thinks about Norway. I forgot that it existed until just now.
In Norway, healthcare is free for residents (well, except for the $21 visit fee but once you hit the annual cap of $1817 including medications everything is free)
How awesome would it be if America, one of the strongest and richest countries in the world could do something like that?
My wife is going in for a lifesaving surgery in two weeks and even after our "insurance", it is going to cost me $1500.00 UP FRONT and that is on top of the $1000 I have already paid.
This isn't even counting recuperation, the hospital stay or the 6 weeks out of work.
It is a damn broken system.

America is NOT a business it is a living, breathing entity and running it like a business is going to do more harm than good.
I don't have any of the answers; I am not paid to have the answers.
I use my vote to vote in the person that might have at least a couple of the answers in the hopes it can be made a little better.
I know it will not get better in my lifetime. That we are travelling a dark, dark road right now and there is no light at the tunnel.
My only hope is that by the time my kids are my age that they will be able to see a glimmer of light.

Inside of everyone, there is a container

Inside of the container, all the horribleness of the world pours into for internal storage. Everything from man's inhumanity to man-to-man's mistreatment of nature to the latest string of murders or rapes or beatings or molestations or just the overall cruelty of humanity all pours into that vat. Just the daily incalculable badness of the world that no one can escape from. Picture a swimming pool full of a black oily tar. Rolling and bubbling with a large sewer like pipeline over it continually pouring this sludge in. Sometimes it dribbles in and sometimes it is as if all the toilets in Manhattan were flushed at the same time and the sludge fore jets in.

Some people have huge oil tanker sized vats that absorbs everything they can get their beady little minds on. It doesn't matter how much they get there is always room for more.
Some people have teacup-sized containers that even the smallest infraction fills the cup to over flowing threatening to the point of bursting.
And every size in between
The container does have a finite amount it can hold and the older you get less you can contain. I don't think your container shrinks in size I think the residue never subsides. There is always layer left over no matter how much you burn off and the older you get the more layers you have.

I know lately my container has been full to slopping over the sides. For instance there was a movie on last night called Chappie, it has Hugh Jackman and Dev Patel in it and is about a robot that gains sentience. In the movie, there are scenes where the newly born robot is being mistreated by various humans it encounters and I almost shut off the movie. It's not even that great of a movie but I just could not stomach watching these actors beat up a robot.
I guess I need to find a way to burn off all this excess sludge in my vat. Maybe a binge/purge on some Disney fluff or a day spent with puppies will help me expunge some of my waste.

Maybe I will just turn the TV off for a few days as it does seem to be continually broadcasting the sludge I am trying to avoid.
Anyway, I will talk ya later. I gotta go find some puppies.

Well I have now watched my very first presidential address. In my 47 years on this planet I had never done that before. Well not that I can recall at least. I grew up avoiding the local news and the national news in all of its formats like the plague.
Completely 100% non informed.
Why? It bored me. simple as that. I found it utterly boring. The talking heads are just telling me a bunch of horrible and depressing shit that doesn't affect me in any way.
except the weather but cant do anything about that either.
They sit on the TV and tell me about this person killing that person or this guy was caught doing something bad or blah,blah,blah.
Dont even care about sports either (shocking I know) I thought games weren't meant to be played so Ive never seen the draw of watching people running around just playing. If I wanted to see that Id go to the playground. at least there you might get to see a pirate and transformer get in a fight with Spiderman or something equally epic.
anyway I digress.
Politics have always be a non-starter for me.
Bunch millionaires arguing with each other for their own benefit. They dont care about you. They dont care about the law or the planet or America or anything really. All hey want to do is line their pockets with as much cash as possible and try to keep the options open to do it again next year.
Thats it.
So I watched President Trump and before you misunderstand, yes he is my president. I didnt vote for him but he has the office now. So being so squeaky new to this whole thing I do have questions.
like, ok all I heard was a buncha back patting and "this is what I intend to do" no plans though just a buncha words saying what people want to hear. Do people honestly believe he is laying out his plans for the next 4 years?
Dont they realize he is just placating them?
I guess I just dont trust him more then the millions that voted for him.
I know there will be a moment in the next 4 years where I will be given the opportunity to stand up and shout I TOLD YOU SO but I dont want it.
I just want all this political crap to go away and turn the channel to cartoons.

PSA for the newly or soon to be newly 21 crowd.
Never drink yourself to the edge of oblivion in public. Know yourself and your limits and don't discover them when you out having a grand old time. That is when horrible things happen to good people.
If you are out and start to see the cliff of oblivion coming up fast and your car ain't slowing down, at that time its too late to start developing an evacuation plan. Getting in your car to go home now would be the equivalent of throwing the car in reverse, doing a 180 and slamming on the accelerator.
A supremely dumb idea.
Drinking water and eating some starch would be a good way to toss an anchor out the door of the car. A really desperate maneuver is to drink a large glass of milk. Hopefully it will curdle and cause you to create a glorious technicolor yawn. Once you are done shouting at your shoes, you will have removed all of the alcohols backup forces and can work on just processing the ones who have already infiltrated your defenses.

Be smart in advance so you can still take measures after your brain has packed it's bag, put on his fedora and walked out in disgust.

This is a memory I have that I want to get downloaded from the brain archives before the whole building burns like the library at alexandria.

When I was in High School, I knew I was bright, I never studied for a test and hardly ever paid attention in class. Why? If it didnt interest me I didnt care. Without any trying at all on my half I was a solid C student. The one moment though that actually cause me to pause and realize I wasnt just bright, I was damn smart, was in my junior year. There was an announcement that there were still opening for the ASVAB test that morning and to just come on down. I wasnt sure what an ASVAB was (armed service vocational aptitube battery tests) but i figured that I could go do this instead of going to my first three hours, well it would be a welcome diversion.

So I went to the unchroom and took a eat and at the right time I started filling in my dots.
Yeah it took a full 3 hours to complete but it keept me occupied and it made my boring day a little different.

When they got the results back the recruiter sat me down at one of those long lunch benches and he placed a 3 ring binder in frnt of me. It was a hefty sized packet and leafing through it I remember seeing all kinds job descriptions listed.
"This is the binder we normally use for all of our average applicants. It covers all of the jobs avaiable from A to Z. You qualify for every job in that folder."
He then pulled out 3 smaller folders and stacked them on top. "With your scores you all qualify for every job in these folders." He reached into his greifcase and pulled out four more folders and stacked them as well " you also qualify for all of these." "In fact," he ruminated "You qualify for every job I can offer you except one. pilot, cause of your glasses. but other then that you can choose your own path"

He had never seen scores that high before and in fact only one person in Kansas scored higher then me and she just happened to be a friend of mine.

I polietly thanked him for his time and went off to do my day. but it was then I realized I didnt think like other people and I really was smaert. I should have taken him up on his offer but that wasnt my cup of tea at the time. I have since realized through testing that I have about a 140 IQ. Or at least haf. I did so little with it that it rusted and seuzed up.

I recently read a post on the Facebook, one of those conspiracy people who finds all kinds of evils in the electronic beams coming from the TV and trail let by airplanes. real tinfoil hat kinda stuff.
Anyway they were proclaiming that experiments like the Haldron collider were instigated by Satan himself. Presumably to allow him to lay claim to the planet.

Now that dont make much sense, do it?

Why would the prince of darkness spend literally centuries corrupting and cultivating this planet until he had the majority of the populace right in the sweet spot, right where he is gaining all the pluses and very few minuses only to have us show up uninvited in his front parlor?

He doesnt want to wake up one morning wondering what all the ruckuss is about only to find us stomping around his foyer, tromping on his nice oriental rugs , mucking up the place when we are supposed to off in our own neck of the woods do all the sinning and shaking our bums at God. He doesnt get any power if we just go straight to the source. Old Scratch doesnt want to see the end of the world or the ruination of mankind. He wants us right on the cusp continually teetering back and forth. Lucy needs us to keep him in power and the only way he can do that is to keep us sinning.

I would say it is more to the point that he is behind the cure for AIDS and is working hard to get that whole Cancer thing under our thumb as well.Cancer and all the like. He is also behind taking down the cigarette companies and this whole diet and exercise for your health buggery.
You see, He wants us around for as long as possible. The longer we live then the longer we sin and the more we sin the longer he gets to reign.
So I guess the solution would be to live hard, die fast and leave a beautiful corpse.

That movie that one time

There was a movie I vaguely recall seeing. Bare with me here while I try to pry some of the facts outta the dusgusting murk in the corners of my mind warehouse.
There was a guy who was really well offbut a louse, kinda like Sandler in Billy Madison. Something happened with his PA and the company and he now has to take control over the family business that he knows nothing about.
Of course he hires his 2 best friends, his cronies who are the archtype dimbulbs. All they ever did before was follow him around and drink his beer and to provide the moral support he needed for his hair brained schemes.
Soon he realizes that the time is running low to when he needs to be at his dads office to start his new job so he starts grabbing people he knows left and right and sticking them in a job that sounds good
Thelma May Goodpasture teaches the 4th grade so she should make a good executive and Earl1 and Earl2 were able to get that cat outta his fan belt last winter so they can be over his companies technology. Oh and he cant forget Betsy DeVos, she is the local billionare who has always had a thing against public schools so put her kids only in private schooling. She can be his next education secretary. Yeah thatll work.

I cant even recall how this movie ended, just that there were a bunch of those tired tropes and insipid one-liners. Maybe it was a prequel to that Mike Judge filck idiocracy?
Not sure. Gonna bug me till I figure it out.

Depression is such a damnable thing.
Everything I ever found even remotely intresting is gone. Fishing, yard work, computers, writing, playing ,creating...all gone
I am spending my time just waiting to die.
I work
I watch TV and stare at insipid pictures for hours upon end
I try to sleep
Then back to step one
I cant bring myself to do chores or care about the littlest of things.
Im beaten down.
Did you see tonights episode of walking dead? Yeah I am darryl. The lion has been beaten down into a barely recognizable shell. but the lion is still in there.
Raging about all of this strife in my life inside but cant beat the rut to get out of it.
I want it to just slough off like burnt skin and be able to enough my life again
instead of just sitting
waiting to die.

Not an intresting story at all

       My first real job out of high school was working in a warehouse for a retail catalog showroom. I did this for 10 years working myself up from part time help to the youngest member of management in the company managing the warehouse for one of the top 10 stores.
I was good at this and I enjoyed doing it.
        I knew it was time to go though when the company started to fail and all of the hours allotted to the warehouse were cut. Cut so drastically that I only had enough for me, my assistant and 30 left over for my full time receiver. That was when I knew it was time for me to move on. in this warehouse we had high ceilings and really tall warehouse shelves. Not sure of the exact height but about 12 feet sounds right. We used ladders, of course, but a lot of the time we would monkey climb up and down the bins. It wasn't safer but it was quicker. Not a day would go by that I wasn't straddling across an aisle 10 feet up in the air stacking anything from furniture to TVs to baby good on the shelves.
    One day I was doing a inventory report and we had just had a truck in so the aisles were clogged. The aisle was in was the bike aisle and we had them stacked 3 high with just enough of an aisle to shimmy your way through. If you have never seen a bicycle box it is about 6 foot long and about a foot wide. Just big enough to hold a partially assembled bike. Well I needed to get up high enough to look at the top shelf so I scaled the bins and was standing on top of one of the wobbly bike towers marking my report. I was about done when I felt a shift. Now these boxes are not strong corrugated cardboard. No these boxes are flimsier then a pizza box so just about any bit of pressure will crumple it. Sure enough there goes my tower. In the nanosecond I had to act I dropped my clipboard and made this Indiana Jones leap up and out from the stack as the tower came crashing to the ground. My assistant came around the corner to see what the commotion was to find me dangling over the middle of the aisle swinging from a sewer pipe from the store above us in the mall.

I am pretty unflappable so when I noticed him standing at aisle head doubled over laughing I just calmly said " Can you grab a ladder?"
"Oh now you want a ladder?"
"I think it would be prudent at this point yes"

   I learned nothing from this event. This was just a normal Thursday for me. I just randomly thought of this and wanted to get it on paper. I am sorry you wasted your time reading thsi.

I do hate the paparazzi

I was wandering around youtube last night and ran across these videos called "celebrities getting angry with paparazzi" or something like that. I dont know if they were posted as a "oh poor celebrity" or "oh poor paparazzi" but if you watch them, and I did, you really get a good feel on how much of a lowlife bottom feeder these picture hounds are.
I get that this comes with celebrity, but come on. You cant even drive your car because there are 12 people standing around with flashes going off and they are in the way and it is just truly invasive. I do not like Kanye West but even I felt for him when some goomba is standing outside of his house at 4am trying to take his picture and trying to talk to him.
Ok so you have the whole invading the personal space and not giving them the chance to just walk somewhere but then you have the ones that are just rude and even offensive.
We, as a society, have created these monsters and we as a society need to step up and remove them. Sure there are things we like and these people are in the things we like so we like these people but do you need 16 photos of Dan Radcliffe walking down the street?
I would bet that a person could create a hoodie made of reflective material (like on the road crews reflective vests) with maybe a infrared light in the rim of the hood itself that would cancel out the flash and turn their visage into a bright blurry blob. That would at least provide some cover at night and keep them at bay as they would know they couldnt get a good shot.

Since I have such a long commute and some days I have to do something, anything really to keep me awake behind the wheel, I was toying about on my way home with trying to devise the most self destructive yet very efficient Avengers team.
The rules were quite loose basically you have to have specific archetypes but they can be "good" or "bad", This is what I came up with

Leader - Emma Frost

Muscle - She-Hulk (also 2nd Lieutenant)

Tech Guru - Doc Ock

Brains - Amadeus Cho

Tactician and financier - Moonknight

Comic Relief - Deadpool

Rookie - Franklin Richards.

Magic - Nico Minoru

I think this covers all of the bases of the archetypes needed. They would be a spectacular group who could defeat one incursion and only one. There are some huge egos on this list and while the "could" be a team they couldn't do it for long.
Aficionados what would you change?

Dads.
I was lucky and had one of the best dads in the

 world. Not everybody gets to say that.
My dad was super smart. The man knew his

engines and knew his horticulture, among a myraid of other things..
For instance, once he read an article about hydroponic gardening

 and the next day had created his own system

using some PVC and an old sump pump.

Why? Cause it interested him.
We had this huge 10 car garage that was all

steel. He converted ½ of it into his workshop

 with some 2x4 and Styrofoam sheets. The Kansas

 winters can be rough though so he needed a

heater in there. Using just the information in

his head he devised a wood burning furnace for

the garage using some old discarded hot water

heaters and some discarded metal sheets from the local newspaper.
The man made MacGyver look like he bought all

of his innovations online.
To say I am proud of my father is truly an

understatement.
He was my first superhero.
But then I was a typical teenager growing up and didn't realize how awesome the

man was until I was in my 20's.
I remember when he turned 50 he told me that if he knew he was going to live this

 long he would have taken better care of himself.
Everything I am I owe to my dad and I miss him every single day.
Today would have been my dad's 75th birthday.
Happy Birthday dad.
I love you.
