Cassiopeia - First CGI Movie

The first animated feature film created entirely in CG was Brazilian and called Cassiopeia. Which was released in 1996.

The story is not quite as Toy Story was released a little before. But Brazil can not take the plunge, as it was with Santos Dumont and the Wright brothers in the case of the airplane. They alleged that Toy Story models used was scanned usind real models and Cassiopeia didn't, was entirely created by computer.

The result was a weak film that is hard to watch. Regardless of the CGI dated, slow dynamics and characters without empathy, the film's biggest problem is the generic script.

I applaud the pioneer attempt to innovate. The authors deserve all our respect and deserve credit for working with love, but could not forget something that no technology could tip: a good script.

Cassiopeia The Movie - 1996

The production was directed by animator Clovis Vieira and had a team of 3 animation directors and 11 animators, working on 17 486 DX2-66 microcomputer. The first character model was done on a 386 SX 20Mhz. The software used was Topas Animator produced by Crystal Graphics. The film was completed in January 1996.

When I was eating a loaf of bread I saw the first slice was ignored in the package and I remembered that there was a multimedia CD-Rom with this animation that tells the life of Osmar, the first slice of bread so it is rejected by all.

Surreal Action Figures Inspired by Bosch's Art

The painter Hieronymus Bosch, who lived from 1450 to 1516, was the first surrealist, and undoubtedly one of the greatest artists who ever lived. Centuries ahead of his time, until today highly original and modern. Sometimes I think he was a time traveler.

His work officially portrayed images of hell and sin, served to give vent to his genius and creativity without being persecuted by the Catholic Church and the Inquisition, with a "skin" of religion, Bosch painted his creatures so bizarre a creative, something that was impossible at that time and was still applauded by church clergy, who saw that his work, an important tool of terror and brainwashing to the Catholic faithful.

An article published in 1992 in "Folha de Sao Paulo" newspeper showing the pre-internet phenomenon game called "Roxo" (Purple). What your goal is hitting in the scrotum of Fernando Collor de Melo, then president of the republic of Brazil, notorious villain, scoundrel and son of a bitch, who confiscated the savings of the people and became one of the greatest villains of history of country.

The game was made on a statement that the fool has said himself that he had "it" purple, the "it" obviously referring to his scrotum. It is a popular expression on northeast part of Brazil, it mean you are strong, something like that. As there was no Internet, the game was distributed by bulletin boards and circulated on floppy disks, becoming popular even in this rough way.

The article shows that "game for PC turns national craze" is that at no time refers to Fernando Collor nor to his scrotum. What they say is simply that the game "is to give strategic hammered a doll wearing only a yellow-green band."

Reality TV Shows are not always those idiots, showing idiots with nothing to do and supported by idiots. Some TV reality programs of this popular genre of television entertainment are incredibly well made and with high quality content. Doubt?

I had a big job, but managed to make an exclusive TOP 10 showing "Best Reality TV World." The list may not be definitive, but certainly contains 10 programs that deserve to be seen if you are looking for more than an empty program full of mindless idiots. Reality shows contained herein has extreme quality. I recommend!

Discovery Channel program that attempts to recreate the inventions of Leonardo Da Vinci.

9th Place
American Pickers / Canadian Pickers
Aired by the History Channel and follows Mike Wolfe and Frank Fritz in his travels by the United States in search of buying rare antiques and collectibles. They find curious and interesting things that we do not have any idea that has some value. The Canadian version is also great.

8th Place
Monster Man
Production of the Syfy channel shows the daily life of a specialist in creating monsters to B horror movies from Hollywood. Cleve Hall is a bizarre figure, a mixture of Coffin Joe to Gene Simmons, and a program is quite entertaining.

7th Place
Hoarders
Displayed by the A & E this reality show is scary, bizarre accumulators showing garbage in their homes. What is striking is the number of people living so as to create a program just about that. Awesome!

6th Place
Comic Book Man
Nerd culture created by director Kevin Smith shows the daily life of a comic book shop called "Jay and Silent Bob's Secret Stash" in New Jersey and displayed by the AMC. In addition to nerd dialogues, shows price evaluation of old products as comic books and action figures.

Mythbusters
The Discovery Channel program needs no introduction. Presented by Adam Savage and Jamie Hyneman, the program attempts to prove or bust myths of history or pop culture.

4th Place
The Apprentice
Needs no introduction. The american release is presented by Donald Trump and shows learners executives completing tasks to win and get a job. I liked most of the Brazilian version, hosted by Roberto Justus, who gave valuable tips on entrepreneurship. The states celebrity release is a bit weak, because the business is left out due to the show. Here you see the brazilian version. Much better.

3rd Place
Work of Art: The Next Great Artist
Reality show that is aired on cable channel Bravo, show artists competing for a solo exhibition at the Brooklyn Museum and a cash prize of $ 100,000. I had this idea of creating a reality show like this, but arrived too late, because it already exists and is brilliant.

Dragon's Den / Shark Tank / "Mane no Tora" (Tiger of Money)
