I recently had the pleasure of designing the florals for Krista and Jevon’s wedding, which was held on the grounds of Cheekwood. Krista loves loves loves purple orchids..and as you can see, I used lots of purple vanda orchids for her bouquet. She wanted the bridesmaids to have a loose, garden feel and to bring in the yellow..freesia was used to accomplish that…and they smell so wonderful as well.

The centerpieces were a mix of purple vanda orchids and green goddess calla lillies….all in clear glass vases, which brought a cooling effect to the table. Krista had purchased fabulous chargers for the dinner plates, some in purple and some in fern green. To honor the Chihuly exhibit on the grounds, she also had purchased votive holders that mimicked the blown glass effect of the exhibit.

The cocktail hour was to be held in the barn…pictured above…we hung one of our iron chandeliers here and loaded it with hydrangea, roses, lillies and greens…and oh yes…those are our battery operated wax pillar candles…not to take any chances with flames in a barn! As ceremony time drew near…the clouds opened up…and the ceremony was moved inside…the chairs, the iron columns, flowers,etc…and the bride and groom stood underneath this chandelier….very romantic, very shabby chic!

So then…what do you do with the centerpieces? Well, you go right on and use the silver trumpet vases, wine coolers, compotes,etc….and fill them with a loose, garden look…mixing the shabby chic with the traditional, elegant container….it works!

I finally have a little time to sit and update on my site..and wanted to continue with more photos of Caitlin’s wedding. Thanks to Divine Images for these wonderful shots. The room view above was the reception, a seated dinner at The Country Music Hall of Fame. Angela Proffitt designed and coordinated the wedding…I love how she used the very large square table centering the room as the head table(although it was not easy for short people like myself to reach the center with the designs..but that’s another story)..it looked mah-velous! The bridesmaids’ bouquets were all green: hydrangea, roses, berries, with fern green ribbon wrap. Beautiful night.

The photo above was taken by the wonderful team of Leslie and Bill Emmetts of Divine Images..and is just a sneak peek from the wedding of Caitlin McAleese and Robby Franklin. We used two of our 5′ tall iron trees on the rather large head table..and filled the trees with fresh hydrangea, roses, stock, greens and hanging votives.  Can’t wait to show the bouquets, ceremony and more from the reception at the Country Music Hall of Fame. It was really refreshing to use whites, creams and greens for this wedding in January…especially after all the reds, gold,etc of the holidays. I think it was almost like a hint of spring.  Caitlin’s wedding coordinator, Angela Proffitt, kept everyone right on schedule…and the evening was a great success.

The season of bridal shows has arrived…these shots above are from our booth on Jan.17th at Nashville Convention Center. One of the hottest color trends for the future is yellow paired with black/white with a hit of bright citrus lime green. Pictured above is our popular manzanita branches with crystals this time with black/white feathers…makes a statement don’t you think? Below are photos of some of our designs in our booth….we went with hot, bright, contemporary centerpieces and tablescapes.

We were swamped with brides visiting our booth…and I met so so many of you…and 5 of you have booked your dates with us already! We are so excited to work with you!

Now off to deliver some gorgeous bouquets and centerpieces to our bride Kristen Massey…who’s wedding is this afternoon at Opryland Hotel…hoping to get everything installed before the snow and Nashville traffic gets too bad!

Please watch ABC’s Extreme Makeover Home Edition THIS SUNDAY…December 6th…this was a home build in Woodlawn,TN right outside Clarksville,TN. We were honored to be chosen as the FLORIST for this episode! The home was truly built in 5 days…and we had less than that to meet with the designers on site (and their behind the scenes designers were so talented as well), purchase containers, flowers,etc..and have them ready and on the site at 7am 3 days later! Whirlwind week..but so much fun. I don’t think there was one room with out fresh flowers…even the laundry room. Above is a photo of the outside of the new home. I can’t tell you how hard it was raining that morning! After the show airs, I hope to have the photos to post here…the production company is sending them. Oh…and yes….Ty Pennington IS a cutie in person!

The wedding and reception were held in “Building 8″ at The Factory in Franklin, Tennessee…such a unique venue.

Sunflowers and daisies were the theme throughout. Our iron containers fit the decor of the venue quite well.

Our large iron arch in the background was covered with lush florals of sunflowers, roses, hydrangea, snapdragons,etc. The ceremony and reception were located in the same room….however, it is a VERY large room with the most unique decor in an antique theme…one of my favorite places to decorate.
