The Brantford Police Service are seeking the public’s assistance in locating missing 66-year-old, Joseph.

Joseph is described as male, slim build, approximately 5’8 to 5’10 tall, with short grey hair, and may have a mustache.

Joseph was last seen on April 21, 2025, on foot at approximately 6:00AM, in the area of Sympatica Crescent walking towards Lynden Road and was wearing a light grey sweater (with hood), dark grey sweatpants, and white running shoes.

Joseph is unfamiliar with the area, walks with a cane, and has dementia.

The Brantford Police Service are seeking the public’s assistance in locating missing 27-year-old, Lilliana.

Lilliana is described as female, medium build, approximately 5’1 in height, with shaven buzz-cut style dark brown hair, has lots of scabs on her cheeks and face, wears eyeglasses.

Lilliana was last seen on April 20, 2025, at approximately 11:00PM in the area of Powell Road and Blackburn Drive. Lilliana may be wearing a silk head covering, a grey jacket, and may be carrying a grey/black/orange hiking style backpack. Lilliana may have a blue bicycle with her, and may be carrying and/or be camped out in a lime green tent.

The Brantford Police Service are looking to confirm Lilliana’s well-being and are seeking assistance from anyone who may have information which may assist in locating the missing person.

Police seek attempted carjacking suspects

On Saturday, April 19, 2025, shortly after 6:00am, police were dispatched to the area of Richardson St. and Fordview Ct. in the City of Brantford for a report of an attempted carjacking.

Information received, reported two males, in their late teens, disguised in medical masks approached an individual who was sitting in their car. The suspects are reported to then have brandished a firearm, demanding the keys to the vehicle.

The two males were unsuccessful and fled on foot towards Fordview park.

Police set up containment, while a K9 track was deployed to locate the two suspects, however they remain outstanding.

No physical injuries were sustained in this incident.

The suspects are described as follows:

Suspect 1: Male, white, approximately 16-20 years old, blue medical mask

Suspect 2: Male, Indigenous, approximately 16-20 years old, blue medical mask

Police urge residents in the area to check any dash cam or outdoor cameras for any footage of these suspects. Two arrested, firearms and drugs seized after traffic stop

A man and woman were arrested, and two firearms seized as a result of a traffic stop by Brantford police patrol officers.

On April 12, 2025, officers with the Brantford Police Service conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle travelling on Grey Street. Two occupants were within the vehicle: a male driver, and female passenger.

When speaking with the driver, officers observed a firearm in plain view within the vehicle. The occupants of the vehicle were then arrested.

Search incident to arrest located the following items in the vehicle:

•.22 Caliber rifle – modified (prohibited firearm)

•Imitation firearm

•Revolver (altered serial markings)

•Drug paraphernalia, including pipes and a digital scale

•Approximately 127.3 grams of suspected cocaine with an estimated street value of $12,700

•A stolen passport and Ontario Health Card

As a result of the traffic stop, a 34-year-old man and 33-year-old woman, both from Mt. Pleasant, each stand charged with the following offences:

•Possession of a Weapon for Dangerous Purpose x2

•Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm x2

•Careless Use/Storage of a Firearm x2

•Possession of a Firearm with Altered Serial Number

•Unauthorized Possession in Motor Vehicle x2

•Possession of Prohibited Firearm x2

•Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm x2

•Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking- Schedule 1- Cocaine

•Possession of an Identity Document x2

Both accused were held for a bail hearing.

The Brantford Police Service are seeking the public’s assistance in locating missing 37-year-old, Cheyenne.

Cheyenne is described as female, approximately 160-170 lbs., between 5’8” and 6’ in height, with straight dark brown/black shoulder-length hair, and hazel eyes.

Cheyenne was last seen on April 4, 2025, at approximately 8:00 p.m., in the area of Shellard Lane and Conklin Road and was wearing a men’s black spring jacket (no hood), light baby pink Guess brand crop top sweater, men’s Buffalo brand jeans – dark blue/black in colour, and a belt with a unique belt buckle – "Jack Skeleton’s” face from the movie "A Nightmare Before Christmas”.

The Brantford Police Service are looking to confirm Cheyenne’s well-being and are seeking assistance from anyone who may have information which may assist in locating the missing person.

Traffic stop results in the arrest of three men, illegal drugs seized

As a result of a traffic stop by Brantford police patrol officers, three men were arrested, brass knuckles and illegal drugs were seized.

On April 9, 2025, officers with the Brantford Police Service conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle travelling on Brock Street. Three men were within the vehicle.

The driver of the vehicle did not have a valid license and was currently wanted by the Brantford Police Service on an unendorsed warrant.

Officers observed a bag containing a white, powdered substance in clear view. Additionally, search incident to arrest located suspected crack cocaine and multiple cell phones in the possession the male passengers.

As a result of the traffic stop, the following illegal drugs were seized by patrol officers:

•Approximately 22.7 grams of suspected fentanyl

•Approximately 10 grams of suspected crack cocaine

•Approximately 24 tablets of dilaudid

•Brass knuckles

•Multiple cell phones

The men were arrested, and charges as follows:

A 41-year-old man from Brantford stands charged with:

•Unauthorized Possession of Weapon

•Possession for the Purpose Schedule I - Other Drugs Possession Schedule II - Other Drugs

•Probation order: non-compliance

•Firearm or weapon: possession contrary to prohibition order x2

A 41-year-old man from Brantford stands charged with:

•Possession for the Purpose Schedule I - Other Drugs

•Unauthorized Possession of Weapon

•Probation order: non-compliance

•Firearm or weapon: possession contrary to prohibition order x4.

And a 42-year-old man from Brantford stands charged with:

•Possession for the Purpose Schedule I - Other Drugs,

•Possession Schedule I - Cocaine

•Unauthorized Possession of Weapon

•Firearm or weapon: possession contrary to prohibition order

•Drive While Suspended x2.

All three accused were held for a bail hearing.

Illegal Cannabis Storefront Closed After Complaint; Two Men Arrested; Products Seized

As a result of a community complaint, an illegal cannabis store has been shut down, resulting in the arrest of two Barrie men and the seizure of over $130,000 in illegal cannabis product.

On January 27, 2025, the Brantford Police Service received information from a concerned citizen regarding the operation of a possible illegal cannabis storefront located near Colborne Street and Clarence Street.

Through investigation, officers determined that this retail location was not licensed and operating illegally.

On Thursday, April 10, 2025, members of the BPS Core Engagement and Response Team (CERT), executed a search warrant at the retail location. Approximately $130,860 in illegal cannabis and cannabis-related product was seized.

As a result of the investigation, a 50-year-old man and a 51-year -old man, both from Barrie, were arrested and stand charged with the following Cannabis Act offences:

•Distribution of illicit cannabis

•Possession of cannabis for the purpose of selling

Counterfeit currency continues to circulate in Brantford

The Brantford Police are issuing an additional advisory to businesses and residents of Brantford as reports continue to be received regarding counterfeit money circulating within Brantford.

To date, in 2025, Brantford police have received 52 reports of counterfeit Canadian bills used at various businesses. Five people have been charged by BPS for using counterfeit bills in 2025.

Most of the incidents have involved Canadian bills of $100.00 and $50.00.

Similar serial numbers on the $100.00 bills appear to have been circulating across other jurisdictions in Canada. Common serial numbers on the $100.00 bill are, GRJ6710018, GRJ6710019, GRJ6710020, GRJ6710020, GRJ6710021, and GRJ6710022.

The counterfeit bills seen in circulation have a holographic window strip on the bill with the word, "Prop Money.” Some of these bills have other obvious signs with discolouration and damage to them that causes the colouring to peel off easily.

Tips to identify counterfeit money:

Check the serial number on multiple of the same value of bills as each bill has its own serial number and no bill shall have the same.
The word "Prop Money” should not be on any legitimate Canadian currency.
Check the colouring of the bills and the quality as genuine bills have a finish that will not scrape off
Check the feel of the bills as there should be raised ink along certain areas of each bill

BPS are asking residents and businesses to be aware of the circulation of these bills and to check for any signs of counterfeit with bills they might have in their possession.

Anyone who suspects they have received a counterfeit bill or have one in their possession are encouraged not to accept it and to contact police and make a report.

UPDATE: Bradley George SAUNDERS, arrested for 2nd Degree Murder

On Friday April 4, 2025, at approximately 10:12pm, following a brief foot pursuit - Bradley George SAUNDERS, was arrested in the area of Queen Street and Darling Street.

The Brantford Police Service would like to highlight the collaborative efforts of several units in the successful apprehension of SAUNDERS. Members of our Criminal Intelligence Unit, Drug & Firearm Enforcement Unit, Emergency Response Team, and General Uniform Patrol all played key roles in locating and taking him into custody. Additionally, our Forensic Identification Unit continues to process various pieces of evidence related to the investigation. During the arrest, a search of SAUNDERS resulted in the discovery of suspected crystal meth.

SAUNDERS remains in police custody, and is being held for bail. At this time, he stands charged with:

Murder - 2^nd Degree, Section 235(1), Criminal Code of Canada
Probation Order: Non-Compliance, Section 733.1(1), Criminal Code of Canada
Possession Schedule 1 - Crystal Meth, Section 5(2), Controlled Drugs & Substances Act

On April 3, 2025, at approximately 4:15 p.m., the Brantford Police Service responded to a disturbance at a Charlotte Street residence. When officers arrived, they found a male victim who had been stabbed. The victim succumbed to his injuries a short time later.

Police investigation has determined that the parties involved were known to each other and this is not believed to be a random incident.

At this time, police have recovered the weapon and currently have one male in custody for Accessory after the Fact to Murder, Weapons Dangerous, and Assault with a Weapon.

Additionally, the Brantford Police Service have reasonable grounds and are actively seeking to arrest 27-year-old Bradley George Saunders for Second Degree Murder.

Saunders is described as male, Indigenous, 6’2” in height, approximately 155 lbs., with long dark hair. A clothing or vehicle description is not available at this time.

Saunders is to be considered Armed and Dangerous. If a member of the public locates this person, DO NOT APPROACH. Contact 911 immediately.
