Welcome to the mid-season wrap of for season five of Breaking Bad! In this we turn the podcast over to you, the listener. After a few show notes and news discussion, we discuss your takes, insights, and speculations, and dish a bit of our own in between.

A few things we discuss in our show that we wanted to put in our notes, first fellow fan Andrew Zimmerman’s has submitted some new theme music that’s totally awesome, and also banging. Check it out at the end of our cast and let us know if we should add it to our pre-show rotation! Finally, we mention one of the best ways to get introduced to The Walking Dead, our next podcast project, is by watching the Apocalypse Fan Edit version that, much like a George Foreman grill, cuts out the fat leaving the juicy succulent meat for your enjoyment. An unusual poem for an unusual podcast. A.Ron’s in Seattle and I’m left to run the studio myself. Unfortunately, I’m like Jesse on his first cook, fumbling with the controls, shouting “Yo, bitch!” into the air, getting Fun-Yuns dust and chili powder everywhere. And so we resort to the backup recording devices. A.Ron had a flight to catch so we chat for a little over an hour about our takes and some corrections from last episode and decide to save the feedback until the season 5.1 wrapup podcast next week. This week we discuss dramatic crying, playing spin the revolver, burger-flipping knock and talks, Tuvok’s mastery of the art of dickishness, Meat Eating Man’s magic hands, stress smoking, playing with fire, ricin emergencies, cold packs and hot stoves, and cap things off with the Mother of Breaking Bad Theory discussions.

Lots of feedback from you guys and gals; even cutting all the emails telling us about Walt’s butcher’s thumb on the meth scales, and consolidating all the feedback on Gus vs Walt poison theories, we still had nearly too much to read. 407 – “Problem Dog” – Breaking Good

There has been a lot of confusion going around about the future of Breaking Bad, what with Aaron Paul mentioning that there is going to be two more seasons, and an Entertainment Weekly article claiming that Breaking Bad is getting “canceled” after season five. Our advice: be cool, baby. Like a little Fonzie, because unless I hear Vince Gilligan is getting less than he wants or is being forced to do more than he wants, I’m not going to worry about it whether we get two more seasons of eight episodes or one more of 16.

In the recap, we discuss Raging, tipping pet peeves, love letters to the American muscle car, Christ imagery, Eyebrows of Doom, adult conversations, who gets to wear the bacon gauntlet this week, the importance of a snack spread during high level criminal meetings, loyalty, Aaron Paul’s iron lock on next year’s Emmy awards, and the value of clean living, vitamins, and Googlefu.

We have TWO METRIC TONS of feedback and listener speculation to plow through. We did the best we could to fit it all in, and I believe we were successful. We have a lively discussion of the Madrigal Electromotive website, and we consider the shifting listener opinion of Jim’s maybe-not-as-batshit-crazy as it seems coffee theory. Listener Nick from Ottawa had some mind blowing predictions and speculation that we somehow missed, but he had this down as far back as episode 403 and 404! 406 – “Cornered” – Breaking Good

Thankfully there was no real news of note this week, because we were packed to the rafters with recap and feedback!

We discuss ineffectual truck defense systems, Walt unexpectedly switching up the Big Lie for the Big Truth, Eyebrows landing jabs, but in the end being humiliated by a Coke machine, Jesse with the shakes, Walt Jr. being bought off, Walt being a self centered dick and subcontracting out the dirty work, a four cornered coinflip, and TUCKER!! Then Jesse shovels well, Mike polishes the Pinkman, Gus get’s a message, and Skyler protects the family from the man that protects the family that is protected by… wait. Did this just become an Allstate Commercial?

We got TONS of feedback, which we tried our level best to share with you. We had an epic Skyler rant, three legitimately brilliant theories, and a take on meth from someone who’d know. Also, listener Matthew M. sent in video evidence that not even dogs are immune to Breaking Bad’s charm. We also announce our “name Jesse’s band” contest winner, and announce our intention to do a Walking Dead podcast this fall.

In the spoiler section we discuss our thoughts of what Walt could do to be unlikable in our eyes, a recent interview with RJ Mitte, scenes from the next Breaking Bad, and how the cartel and Gus situation could be resolved.

Welcome back! This week on the podcast we celebrate V-Day for fans of Breaking Bad as news broke over the weekend that the show has been picked up for it’s fifth and final season by AMC! I also allude to the article I wrote last week on one way that Hank and Walt could work together. I’ve got some really great feedback on this that I’m going to write up when we get a lull in the the weekly news.

Moving on to the recap, we discuss Aztec badassery, Walt’s good vibrations, Jesse making good use of keys, Hank getting out, right before he gets pulled back in, the Incurable Cough of Death rearing it’s ugly, tuberculous head, knocking boots at the Casablanca, Tuvok’s mastery of the forklift, the least subtle assassination attempt of all time, and Walt’s overweening arrogance.

Welcome back! This week on the podcast we quickly cover some show news; a positive update on the Sony/AMC battle, and a Q/A with Vince Gilligan that hints (ever, ever so slightly) at a possible post Breaking Bad spin off.
