That day on the Piazza Duomo, I spotted these young ladies chatting. I did not know whether they were dressed for some kind of event or were dressed just for show, but they were dressed so wonderfully, I could not help but photograph them!

Milan has always been a dream of mine ever since I was a student at New York's Fashion Institute of Technology back in the late eighties. The turning point for me back then was an article in an issue of American Photographer back in 1988 (there was one other article in that same issue which covered the then new trend of photographing shoes, in which the author termed "footography", but I digress.) Anyway, that article which made the turning point for me was about how back then many photographers who were somewhat disenchanted of the job situation in NewYork fled to Milan to seek work and soon discovered that they were getting lots more work than they did in New York. It was then that I thought hey, Milan is the place to be... And it is!

Paris has been wonderful as always... Last night for example, Michèle and I and our friends, Cécile and Lise ate at my favorite restaurant in all of Paris, La Marine. It is located at the Canal St. Martin area, and it has been a favorite destination of Michèle and I for the last ten years or so. It is such a great restaurant... I recommend it highly! The other photos in this post are from the previous days.

Today I stumbled upon an event on rue de la Paix. It was an event held at the maison de Joaillerie, Mellerio dits Meller... A chic boutique which specializes in haute jewelry. The people and the setting were quite nice... Except that it felt like a sauna inside the boutique!

Today I arrived in Paris somewhat drowsy and with a slight headache, but never mind that... What got me through it all was looking at all the wonderfully stylish Parisien women going about their business.

Michèle and I will be leaving for Paris on 03 July. We will be there for about a week, then afterwards we would spend most of our summer in the Rhône-Alps region of France until mid-August - except in late July we will spend about a week in Milan... I am so looking forward to it!

Yesterday my wife Michèle and I spent some time with Julia and her friend. They are from Saint-Étienne, France, and were visiting New York for the past week. I gave them a tour of Harlem and The Bronx, and later in the evening, Michèle and I had dinner with them at Café Henri in Queens. While at Yankee Stadium in The Bronx, I photographed Julia because of her stunning look.

I photographed this along the Battery Park City promenade in Manhattan. The model was a lovely friend of mine from Brazil. The look of the photo was not my original intention, but it eventually did give the effect of an old photograph from circa the 1920's. It was one of those wonderful mistakes. This photo is my claim to fame of sorts... it has been selected as part of the Art + Commerce/Photo Vogue collection, https://photovogue.artandcommerce.com. I am so proud that my photo is among the other wonderful works of art on that website.

Yesterday evening, I attended an event at the Coach store on Prince Street in SoHo. It was a book signing event which pertained to Jenni Radosevich's book, "I Spy DIY Style". It was a great evening...the people were wonderful, and the two coffee vodkas that I've had were just nothing short of terrific!

Photographed at the intersection of Fifth Avenue and West 23rd Street. Evidently it was extremely bright today, hence the small amount of glare on the photo. Oh well, I should feel a bit philosophical...it could have been a whole lot worse!
