2013-05-20T13:54:00.003-07:00

It's been a busy first half of the year. Our old camera broke so there've been less pictures. There are was a few holidays, a few visits and Copper, Copper, Copper!

Christmas 2012

A trip to snowy Spokane for family and fun.

Thanksgiving

2012-11-23T08:28:00.002-08:00

Yes, those are nachos. Fulfilling a childhood wish of mine, we did a Mexican themed thanksgiving spread. Delicious.

Birthday week!

2012-11-05T12:21:00.001-08:00

Copper turned 2! It was an exciting week. His Gramma and Grampa came down to visit, the Giants won the World Series again (last time he was only 4hrs old), he had a great party with his best buddies, then a little bit of halloween fun.

Our neighborhood right after the Giants won.

We were working on birthday party stuff while the boys were out in the chaos, so we had our won little celebration.

Grammy and Poppy able to celebrate via Chat.

A little Trick or Treating and Sean's.

Busy September

2012-10-05T16:50:00.002-07:00

Copper's growing up fast and turning in to one cool kid. Zup.

... and here's his nerdy mom wishing Brett "happy birthday" from work. (Thanks for helping, Frankie!)

Brett had a peruvian themed party with homemade ceviche.

Hanging out with his buddy Sarah at the Botanical Gardens.

Watching the fishes at the Cal Science Academy.

Then in the water himself at Ocean Beach.

Copper's First Baseball Game

2012-08-31T14:03:00.002-07:00

Thanks to my awesome and generous coworker, Kris. We got free Giants tickets. It wasn't a great game, but we still had a great time.

"Let's go Giants"

Bored and being silly.

Unfortunately this picture turned out blurry :(. It's the Giants World Series Trophy won in 2010 while we were still in the hospital with newborn Copper.

(not a the game, but pretty adorable)

Summer in Spokane

2012-08-31T13:54:00.001-07:00

We spent about a week in Spokane. It was hot, fun and went by too fast. Copper was surrounded by family and loved running around outside in the big yards. Also, swimming in his kiddie pool and the lake. We celebrated Brett's brother Jordy's graduation and the marriage of Timber's cousin Felicia to her love, Chris. It was a happy time.

The Johnsons Visit

2012-08-31T13:35:00.001-07:00

Almost the whole Johnson crew was down in the bay area to celebrate Keith and Jen's wedding! It was a very fun visit.

Copper was SO excited to be eating lunch with his Grammy!

Officiant Robert gave the most beautiful ceremony.

The bride, Jen relaxing with amazing Peruvian food on the porch the evening of the wedding.

Farm in Tilden Park, Berkeley. This cow moo'd and terrified Copper. Was talking about this cow in his sleep that night and for days after.

Playing with his cousins, Bodie and Carson, just a little older than him. Copper loved hangin' with the big boys.

Summer livin'

2012-07-15T16:21:00.003-07:00

Beautiful weather for a baseball game with Brett's workmates.

Fun at the bowling alley. Brought back good memories of running around Colonial Bowl in Spokane.

Copper's Poor Head!

2012-05-31T11:03:00.001-07:00

Fell and cut his head on a tree root at day care. The ladies at his day care took good care of him and he was a little trooper at the ER with Brett. Hated being held still for his stitches but loved watching Elmo on Brett's phone and his stickers from the Dr.

Busy May!

Copper is finally steady enough on his feet to enjoy running on the beach! Loved the sand, but was a bit skeptical of the water.

Happy Times

2012-04-07T20:20:00.003-07:00

It's been a busy month. Keith and Jen got engaged (yay!), grandparents (Johnsons) visited, exciting trips to the zoo, first dim sum experience for Copper and Timber and many hours at the playground...

Loco for Legos

2012-04-07T20:13:00.004-07:00

Brett has fallen in love with Legos all over again. He's working on Star Wars Legos until The Lord of the Rings Legos are out. Here's the progression of building the Millenium Falcon.

Busy, busy, busy...

2012-03-01T14:44:00.008-08:00

Brett has been working like crazy on submitting his first paper, so life has been hectic and busy for the three of us. We haven't posted since Christmas but in the last 2 and 1/2 months, Copper has been growing fast and learning to do lots of new things. Like...

... jumping on the bed,

coloring,

driving a tractor,

playing the piano with a bucket on his head,

assuming a secret identity,

loving chocolate,

playing soccer,

and making his parents happy.

(Just a little reminder of what he was doing a year ago.)

Christmas 2011

2012-01-16T07:18:00.000-08:00

Sorry our Christmas post is a bit late. Our trip up to Spokane was so wonderful, but left all three of a us exhausted for the new year.

Kicked off Christmas a week early in San Francisco. Copper is waiting for a warm sunny day to play soccer in the park with his dad.

Two-soup Christmas Eve dinner! (beef bourguignon and cioppino)

Followed by Manzanita Creek wine and spiced apple cake.

So! Good!

Christmas morning!

The "out of towners" could join us thanks to marvelous video chat technology!

"Help me! Grammy's gone crazy!"

Playing with the cousins.

Quality time with Great-Nana.

First sled!

And a wonderful christmas trip finished with smoked BBQ ribs, schnauzer PJs and Legos. Nice.

Beginning to look like Christmas!

2011-12-04T18:59:00.001-08:00

We've decorated and have almost finished our christmas cards and all our shopping. I've been meaning to post some christmassy pictures and was inspired to do so after Sierra shared her fabulous Christmas decor with me. Now for some present wrapping, Christmas movies and nog....

Thanksgiving!

2011-11-30T09:08:00.001-08:00

It was a wonderful Thanksgiving with good food and the great company of our friends. Copper loved running around being part of the action and getting to eat some of the delicious meal this year.

Our little turkey.

The actual turkey, deep fried.

Scarves!

2011-11-14T21:13:00.001-08:00

'Tis the season for scarves and I was in the mood for some crochet. The first faux fur fox scarf was done off of a pattern from BeesKneesKnitting on Etsy. The second hoodie-mitten-scarf was my own design.

Birthday party (number 2!)

2011-10-31T11:32:00.001-07:00

The day after his birthday we hosted a party of sorts at Arata Farm's pumpkin patch in Half Moon Bay. Costumes, packed lunches for everyone, a petting zoo and a huge hay bale maze kept us busy. Copper loved this billy goat costume and his goat farming parents. The real goats were a little much but he got to go on the big boy slide for the first time. Then he finished the day with even more presents! Thanks to everyone for coming and for all his great gifts!

Copper's first birthday!

2011-10-31T11:20:00.000-07:00

After one very long, very incredible year, we were ready to celebrate! So we had one big birthday, halloween weekend bash planned. 10/29 is his actual birthday and he spent it hanging out with dad and grandparents until mom came home in the evening for presents and birthday cake! Thank you all for great presents, he loves them!
