So many people have said they like my 'bubble thing'. I'm flattered and happy they like what I've been doing but I considered it to be Bokeh or lens blur rather than bubbles. Whatever. In the case of this particular subject, I thought maybe it would be fun to make them look more like actual bubbles.

CITY FACES 30"x30" oil /canvas

So......Here I am again. Finally! Wow! Life sometimes gets in the way. Lots of stuff happening that took me away from painting. I didn't realize how much I depend on being able to escape the world to get any serious painting done. It hasn't been all lost time though. I couldn't force myself to be creative, but I did do some serious remodeling in the studio. Lots of heavy lifting and grunting. Climbing ladders, insulating, wiring and hanging sheet rock. Slapping paint on a canvas sounds pretty easy after that! I managed to get going on the creative work again and cranked out a few for your viewing pleasure. And... I'm working every day again in the studio again so who knows? I may star posting on this blog on a regular basis once more.

8"x10" acrylic on cradled wood panel SOLD

I'm working on some pieces for a show at Riversea Gallery in Astoria Or. coming up on the 14th.The theme is 'Objects of Desire'. I know a lot of people (myself included) wish they had one of these Airstream Bambis. I may never own one but I enjoy painting them. The reflective surface is always fun.

Well, this is off in another direction (again). I can't help exploring. When you paint every day, you have to break up the routine and try things. Underwater light looked tempting. I changed the swimsuit several times (the color, that is) I tried white, pink, purple, and black before settling on this blue. My wife accused me of painting a nude at first. I explained it was a white swimsuit. She didn't seem completely convinced and wanted to know who the model was.....so I moved on to the other colors.

GOLDEN SLUMBER

2013-11-21T15:13:00.000-08:00

This one and the one below titled Summertime1 were inspired by a short film I ran across by Vrinda Webb. Vrinda is a photographer/filmmaker in the UK. Check it out

SUMMERTIME1

Another really large one. I think the studio shot conveys the color more accurately. Inspired by a film by Vrinda Webb.
