Book Launch for The Sixth Sin

My third book, The Sixth Sin, will be released by SterlingHouse Publishers in October, near Halloween. And again, this year, The Angus Barn in Raleigh, North Carolina, will be the gracious host for a grand book launch event. Situated in the gun room at the famous restaurant, I will be seeing old friends and making new ones as the official release of The Sixth Sin begins on October 29th, from 5:00 until someone gives up the ghost! The attire is strictly Halloween and the gun room presents the perfect backdrop for a potentially frightful evening.

The "Walk For Hope" charity will be a beneficiary of the event as we raise money for mental illness research.

I am very excited about the release of my new book, THE SIXTH SIN. It can be ordered now from the SterlingHouse online book store and from other online book sellers. It will be delivered to your doorstep after the official 2009 October release date.

The story covers one of mankind's most common sin, greed. When a hard-working family falls on hard times they bond together to help one another. However, when an evil presence enters their peaceful home, trouble begins to brew. Money and material things bring the family to a new level of selfishness that spills over the top when threatened by a return to poverty.

In designing the final cover for Portrait of Greed, SterlingHouse staff and I have decided to change the book's title to THE SIXTH SIN which better depicts the storyline. This third novel from me will be released next year (2009) near Halloween. I am finishing the final edits and title change before I return the completed manuscript to SterlingHouse next week. I am very excited about its release next year and I am positive you'll love the book.

In addition, we have finalized the plans for the launch party book signing at The Angus Barn on October 29th (5-9:00 PM). Invitations are being emailed, mailed and hand delivered over the course of the next week. We already have a number of people telling me they are coming even before the invitations are officially distributed. Please attend and bring your friends, no invitation is necessary to attend. The launch party for my next book, THE DEVIL'S SANCTUARY, will again be held at the famous Angus Barn Restaurant in Raleigh, NC and everyone is invited. This new venue for a book signing was a great success last year when over 300 people attended! I have been hard at work finishing the editing on book # 3, PORTRAIT OF GREED, which will be released near Halloween, 2009. Once returned to SterlingHouse Publishers, they will format into the actual book print and design a striking cover, just like my first two books.

In addition, I have been carefully structuring the storyline for my 4th book, CLOVENHOOF, TWELVE DAYS OF THE ANTICHRIST, and it is taking the shape of a scary, disturbing tale about the devil's final plan to take over the earth and the heavens above.

It was very exciting for me to review the Advanced Reader Copies of my new novel, The Devil's Sanctuary. We are in the midst of planning the launch party, near Halloween, to officially release The Devil's Sanctuary upon holy ground. Like before, there will be ghosts, goblins and the usual array of the "undead" in attendance. Last year's attendance numbered in the hundreds and this year should be no different. Many commented that "This is the perfect way to hold a book signing; drinks, food, lots of interesting people and a great setting." Unlike a normal book signing, many guests stayed for the entire evening which lasted nearly six hours!

I am continuing to work on several items this summer; my fourth novel, writing more articles for the above weekly web site and creating an ever growing list of ideas and outlines for future books. I have brief outlines for eleven more novels, each with an interesting story around horror. My only wish is for longer days and nights so I be more productive.

I'm very excited to be asked to contribute to CyntoMedia's weekly web site publication. Starting on April 1st, the web site will feature many articles and helpful publishing items for new and experienced writers and avid readers. My personal contributions will focus on scary people, places and things. Quite a broad category, but the horror genre covers so many aspects of life,including life here and what exists beyond the realm of our current knowledge and beliefs.

Portrait of Greed's second edit is nearly finished and I'll be returning it to SterlingHouse for their finishing touches. With The Devil's Sanctuary coming out around this Halloween and Portrait of Greed at Halloween, 2009, I am keeping pace with my initial goals of one book per year. The fourth book release, scheduled for Halloween 2010, is already underway and may prove to be the "clean-up" hitter. With a tremendously dark and devious story line it will be the perfect compliment to the first three novels. I'll keep you up to date as I make progress on it.

Sterlinghouse Publisher Inc. has finished designing the book cover for my next release. Originally named, Fatal Decisions, we have collaborated on a new title to compliment the fantastically evil cover and demonic tale;

THE DEVIL'S SANCTUARY.

The galley proof has been returned to SterlingHouse for the final edit and publishing. The storyline is a wonderful tale of heroic action to overcome an evil force while tranforming
a high school senior into a man. The story begins in Raleigh, North Carolina and transports the reader to the sinister owner of an Inn near Asheville. While the mountain countryside is an idyllic setting, the horror that lurks behind the beautiful facade of the Inn is truly frightening.

Following the "horror next door" theme, this book could be a diary of events for anyone in their teens. The possibility that this could actually happen, to you or someone you know, is a thought to ponder over and over in your mind. But beware, don't think about it too long.

I have friends and acquaintances who have read Soul Riders, many of the 400 who attended the book launch at The Angus Barn, and contacted me with comments on the book. I was excited to learn that the book exceeded their expectations and provided an enjoyable "read". The creative storyline was the most common item mentioned in addition to how well the story, and the characters, flowed throughout the book .

Most of the attendees (Angus Barn) know me from the banking world where I deal in structured finance lending and complicated tax credit developments. They were pleasantly surprised by Soul Riders quality and conscious avoidance of crude language like many authors. The discussions surrounding my next two novels, Fatal Decisions and Portrait of Greed, generated lots of interest from everyone.

Publishing a first book is an experience in itself, but when coupled with the interaction from actual readers your emotions range from fear of rejection to exhilaration. No one ever said it was going to be easy and it isn't. But the long ride uphill has just begun and there is still a heavy load to bear as I continue to market my work.

My second book, Fatal Decisions, has been edited and is back with SterlingHouse Publishers for the cover design and print format. I'm very excited about having the next spectacular launch party at the Angus Barn next October for it. The book's storyline and characters exceeded even my own expectations and the novel will be a wonderful compliment to Soul Riders.

The Book-Signing event at the Angus Barn on October 29th was a great success. Over 400 people attended to buy books and mingle with other guests. The restaurant staff served complimentary appetizers while in full Halloween costume; including the devilish cashier, "Nancy the Witch".

Everyone loved the atmosphere; a gun-display room full of candles and ghouls. Most invitees commented that it was the most entertaining book signing they had ever attended. Van Eure, owner of the Angus Barn, suggested that we make it an annual celebration to introduce each new book by the author. Next year promises to be even bigger and better!
