Montreal || Part One

We took a long weekend trip to Montreal a few weeks ago and were blessed with amazing weather, incredible food and gorgeous sights. We also had the chance to meet up briefly with two awesome photographers from Ottawa, Younes & Amanda. You guys rock, thanks for the coffee and the laughs.

I had the pleasure of hanging out with our friends Wendy & Steve in Brooklyn over the weekend – we went over and caught up over brunch, and then went to a local community garden with their adorable daughter, Luna. Maria & Nicholas || New York City Family Photographer

I ran into my neighbors and their adorable kids, Maria & Nicholas, on the way back from Astoria Park on a gorgeous Saturday. I had my camera on me, so I convinced both of them to let me take a few photos – Nicholas was a natural…Maria took a bit of negotiation after shyly running away a few times, but we eventually got a few keepers.

Suz & Lauren Preview || Washington, DC Wedding Photographer

I had the opportunity to photograph Suz & Lauren’s wedding in Washington, DC at the Jefferson Memorial, on an absolutely gorgeous day. The reception was held on the Spirit of Washington, which cruised around the Potomac, and the afterparty was held in Georgetown that night. All in all, an absolutely awesome day that I’m so grateful to have been a part of. Without further ado, here are a few frames from the day.

Blue Hour Reflections

My cousin recently graduated from Juilliard’s pre-college program and had her senior recital this past weekend. I was asked to surprise her with an image of Juilliard or Alice Tulley Hall, and you can see my favorite shot of Alice Tulley (2nd image) below. The first image is of the backside of Avery Fisher Hall in Lincoln Center and a reflecting pool, also taken during the blue hour. Pretty rad architecture if you ask me.

Portraits of Providence I

This was a mini-project I wanted to do while I was on Providencia — get to know some of the locals and take some genuine portraits. Here are a few to start off the series.

Twins who were in the water at Southwest Beach with us watching the weekly horse race (from a safe-ish distance):

Everesto Howard, with an enormous shark jaw from a catch he made two days prior to meeting him. Absolutely nuts.

Willy, who owned another beach bar a few paces down from Richard’s Place, where this photo was taken.

Everesto again, after anywhere from 1-8 rum cocktails.

Almond Bay

This was taken at one of my favorite spots on Providencia, called Almond Bay (Allan Bay on some maps). It was about a 10-15 minute walk down a path to reach the beach, but totally worth it for the seclusion and absolutely natural beauty. This was a 90 second exposure taken in the early afternoon; the island you see in front of you is Santa Catalina, connected to the tip of Providencia via a small bridge called Lover’s Lane.
