I was passing through Glenrock, Wyoming last week at sunrise on my way to the Denver Airport when I saw the Dave Johnston Power Plant rising above a blanket of morning fog. The temperature was zero degrees and after a couple of days of snow and ice, fog could be seen for miles in every direction.

Today on my way back from another shoot, I stopped by the Mount Carmel Cemetery near Chicago to photograph the grave of the world's most famous gangster, Al Capone. People who visit the grave often pay their respects by leaving money, cigars and sometimes even booze...along with the usual flowers.

Durham Buffalo Ranch - Wright, Wyoming

I spent a few hours last week photographing buffalo (also known as bison) at the Durham Ranch in Wright, Wyoming. They have more than 3,000 animals on site, and maintaining buffalo is no easy task. They are known for being unpredictable, appearing to be harmless and calm, then attacking without warning. The average bull sometimes weighs more that 2,000 pounds and they can run at speeds up to 35 mph.

I saw this go by and almost crashed my rental car trying to turn around and chase this guy down to get a shot. Luckily, he stopped at a 4-way long enough for me to get a couple of quick photos. It's not every day you see a dog on a Harley rockin some cool shades and a leather biker's hat.

These shots are from the Don King Museum and King's Saddlery on Main Street in downtown Sheridan. The Saddlery is a true Western tack store with thousands of ropes on-hand, as well as a huge inventory of saddles, bits, bridles and more. The Don King Museum has to be one of the most interesting places I've ever visited. Hundreds of hand-carved saddles surround an amazing collection of Western and cowboy memorabilia that has been in the family for more than three decades. James Jackson works inside the museum carving designs into leather to create one of a kind pieces.

The Crazy Horse Memorial is only 17 miles from Mount Rushmore in the Black Hills of South Dakota. Construction for this monument started in 1948 and could be the world's largest sculpture when completed. It is being carved out of Thunderhead Mountain and represents Crazy Horse, an Oglala Lakota warrior.

This is a collection of photos I took last week while on vacation in Las Vegas. It was fun to walk around with no pressure to cover assignments, just take in the scenery and try to capture the essence of the city. The action, people, architecture and lights here are a photographer's dream. I've never seen a town with so many people taking pictures in every direction, and it's easy to see why.

Big Elvis...Pretty much the whole reason I wanted to go to Vegas. He's awesome.

Last week I was photographing the Art Museum of South Texas when a security guard approached me and asked if I wanted to see a really cool sculpture, that most people don't get to see. I said...yes, of course. He escorted me out a fire escape upstairs, where I saw this sculpture silhouetted in the clouds. It's called "Seen through the Wind" by James Surls. It's not something you can really see at the gallery unless you know where to look, so here's a thanks to the nice security guard for showing me this beautiful, hidden piece.

I was inside my house watching TV last night when I noticed these weird, bright colors coming through my windows. I looked outside and was amazed by this amazing cloud, reflecting beautiful colors of light as the sun began to set. I grabbed my camera and ran out the front door, where I saw three of my neighbors already taking pictures of a sky that looked like a nuclear bomb had gone off. I got a couple of shots before the plane, cloud and sunset quickly disappeared.

The Biltmore Estate in Asheville, North Carolina, is America's largest home. It is 175,000 square feet and has 250 rooms. The Châteauesque-styled mansion was built in the late 1800s by George Washington Vanderbilt II, at the age of 26. George was in the wealthy Vanderbilt family who earned their fortune through steamboats, railroads and a variety of other business ventures.
