I’ve been meaning to write this post for a while and finally just hunkered down to do it. I’ve been thinking for a while that we as bloggers have such a far reaching voice and reach in our communities and yet sometimes we don’t get to share what is important to us with the rest of the world. I’ve seen a TON of blogs over the past few months and many of them are a work in progress and really, I think all blogs are. As we grow we want our blog’s to grow and change with us.

Now basically we have pages and posts and many of us who do online marketing or network marketing tend to have training, social media, resources that you can share with others etc etc etc. One thing that has been on my mind has really been charity. I’ve come across one or two people who have something like this on their blogs and kudos to them. Then I thought a little bit more and I just can’t seem to think why it is that everyone doesn’t have a page like that on their blog.

I’ve been thinking about it for months, probably ever since I actually launched my blog. (I’ve just been a lazy @$$ about getting around to doing it even though it took all of 5 minutes). You see we all have passions and causes that are a part of us and that impact our lives in so many ways and by all means we should share what they are. Now I’m certainly not asking anyone to come here and donate, (though if you are so inclined most certainly do so) all I’m asking is to get the word out there. I mean even if you look at it from selfish reasons all you’re doing is still building your brand. Hey maybe some people think that it will take away from their online presence, but I say “whatever”.

I’ve chosen my charities based on the ones that resonate with me. I have a few for cancer, mainly because I know way too many people who have been afflicted with this disease, from family to friends to friends of friends. Thankfully I do know a lot of success stories but for each one I have a sad story of loss that leaves an emptiness in my soul missing the great people who have succumbed to the disease. We NEED to fight this right now!!!

So what’s the point of all of this now you say? Well I’m actually starting a movement here if you haven’t realized. We all add resources and affiliate links and back links and this that and the other to monetize and that is totally alright. I just say lets also do a little for a cause. You may have something that others don’t know about and that they are really looking for. All I really suggest is to put reputable causes on your blog and send people directly to those sites. So NO you can not donate on my page but feel free to go to the charity sites and give back if you so desire.

Let me know what you think of the idea and definitely give some feedback below. If you think it’s a great idea take some action and add a page to your blog. Be sure to come back to my Promote Yourself page and leave your blog link and charity page link so that everyone can take a look at what causes YOU are passionate about.

So that said go check out my charity page and let me know what you think.

I know I know, I’ve been MIA the past few weeks. I’ve been busy busy, traveling, and doing some business stuff that I really haven’t had a chance to drop some hot content out to you.

Any which way, I just had to drop this one out today because I’m taking today as my “Turning Point”. What is a “Turning Point”? Well basically by my definition it is a particular point in your life that you make a conscious decision to make your life better and more positive and change direction to the path to enlightenment and success. You see a lot of times, much like a new year’s resolution, we tend to put off doing important things that we really NEED to do. Whether it be doing a simple task or making a significant change in your life. We just naturally put things off. What we do to make ourselves feel better is that we decide to put a date on our task.

Does this sound familiar? “Okay I’m going to start going to the gym on January 2nd. That’s my new year’s resolution”. Or maybe “I’m going to start reading more, but let me start on August 1st so that I have a set date”. Yeah I know you know what I’m talking about. All of us do it or have done it. We set that imaginary timeline to start doing something.

Let me tell you though, keep those dates for goals. Set that date as the day that you accomplish your goal and not the date that you’re going to start it. Start TODAY. I’m here to tell you that TODAY is a better day than any to start making a positive change in your life.

You see things have been going pretty well for me lately, business is coming up, and I’m feeling good and I thought to myself, what do I need to do to take it to the next level.

What do I need to do to ramp things up exponentially? How do I take my leadership skills to the next level? How do I get into better shape? Now while asking myself all these questions I thought, well okay it’s going to be a busy month, we have the No Excuses Summit in Vegas, we have Vitality in Orlando. Hmmm….what date can I start…well hell…I realized the error of my ways and I decided that today is as good a day as any to make it my “Turning Point”.

So what am I going to do? Well my wife Janine and I decided to do a 90 Day Challenge to get our bodies right. She’s going to lose a few pounds and I’m going to lose some body fat and build some more muscle. (Notice I said that we are GOING to do these things. Not that we “plan” to or we’re “Looking” to do it). Let me tell you, I’m not 21 anymore, and the fat just doesn’t roll off like it used to. I do hope to bring you along this journey so you’ll see some posts with pictures and videos and thoughts and ideas. Why are we going to document all of this? Well simple really. That’s how leaders roll, we lead by example, so just follow our lead.

That’s first and foremost. Confidence is key to any leader out there. Improving your physical fitness and well being helps improve your thinking, and gives you self confidence that you may not have had before. Hell it gives you that extra “swagger” that you need and I haven’t even gotten to the part about just getting a rocking body.

Next, I’ve been listening to my main man, Jerry Clark a lot lately and I got this idea to do a 30 Day Mental Fast. What is that? Well to put it in short terms you’re basically just getting rid of the “noise” and negative energy out of your life. The man mentors millionaires, he can’t be lying to me alone. Some of the stages I’m already doing without knowing it but it’s all about committing to it and enjoying the personal growth that comes with it.

Here’s what the 30 Day Mental Fast entails:
1. Read at least 15 minutes per day from an uplifting and Empowering Book. (Think and Grow Rich, How to Win Friends and Influence People etc.)
2. Cut off the TV for 30 days. (Eliminate the negative)
3. Turn off the radio. Instead listen to uplifting and empowering audios.
4. Get rid of the newspaper. Get rid of all the disempowering and limiting information that is in front of you.
5. Association. Limit your association with negative people.
6. Drink lots of Water. Most people don’t do well because they don’t’ feel well. They don’t feel well because they are dehydrated. Water helps to remove the toxins from your body.
7. Exercise. Great way to incorporate the 90 day challenge and empower yourself even further.
8. Reflection. Spend some time every day spending 15-30 minutes by yourself. Reflect on your affirmations, your goals, your dreams, and your aspirations. You can call it your prayer time, meditation time whatever you want. Just Focus on the good, focus on what you have, focus on the good and what you will have.

Saturate your mind with the positive and get rid of the negative.

So yes, we plan to break our bodies and minds in over the next 90 days. If that sounds too long for you then Jerry suggests 12 weeks or 3 months

All of this probably sounds pretty nuts to a lot of you reading. I know you’re probably thinking, well that sounds like A LOT to give up. But what if I told you that at the end of 30 days that you’d be Rich? At the end of 90 Days you’d be wealthy? Would it be worth it then?

Seriously, are you telling me that you can’t stop watching people who are getting paid mega bucks to act the fool on TV in order to better yourself and make a change in your life that could benefit you beyond your wildest dreams? Imagine coming out the other end with a new body, a new mind, a new belief that you can accomplish anything? We’ve discussed this before, in order for you to grow sometimes you have to break the old you. I was watching Will Smith’s son Jaeden in a documentary about the making of the new Karate Kid and how difficult he had it with the constant training and even training hurt and how he broke through those barriers. His mom said a family friend came to the house after they returned from filming in China and said, “Wow! I can see the difference in him; he walks with his head held high”.

Now if a 12 year old can break and come out stronger and more confident, why can’t you?

So hey, we’re looking for others to join in with us and make a change today. (As in whenever you’re reading this). Make that decision, join the challenge, get your body right, get your mind right. After 30 days I’m telling you that you’re going to be looking forward to the next 60 days with a sparkle in your eye and a passion in your heart that you did not know was possible and it’s all about joining the movement from there.

Lets get this viral and create a movement of healthier, wealthier and positive people. The time is NOW!!

SO who’s with us? Lemme get a HELL YEAH!!!

Let me know what you think and if you have it in you to take the challenge and make this a “Turning Point” in your life.

P.S. Remember to “Like” me to the Right

A very best Father’s day to all dads out there. Thanks for being so awesome.

I just got done speaking to my Dad and it really got me thinking.

I haven’t been able to spend father’s day with my dad for a number of years now (at least since I’m here in Atlanta and he is back home in Antigua. I think of him every day though, as he certainly moulded me in his light and for that I am grateful.

You see I’m a preA very best Father’s day to all dads out there.

You see I’m a pretty hard nosed kind of guy. I don’t do well with “No”, or “You can’t do this”, or “You can’t do that” and I kind of love it when someone downright thinks that I’m down and out or that I can’t overcome something. That really inspires me and makes me ready to kick some @$$.

I get alot of that from my dad. You see he used to be an airline pilot until I was around 7 or 8 years old when he found out that he had a brain tumor. I do remember that I was young enough to not remember how serious the matter really was since my dad was “Superman” and there was nothing that he could not overcome.

So he ventured to New York, by himself at that to have his operation. I mean can you imagine the “gonads” to go to have a brain operation by yourself? I remember being at home and answering a phone call a few nights after he had his operation and being so happy to hear his voice followed by hearing “Superman” cry at the sound of my little voice (I still couldn’t understand the magnitude of the moment at that time).

I can only imagine that his thought at the moment was that he had beaten the odds and escaped the jaws of death and this was confirmed by being able to talk to his family again.

That alone is enough to inspire me to never give up, no matter the odds against me. So many times it has felt as if I’ve been down and out yet I’m just not very good at giving up. Thank you Pops for giving me that grit, that steel to build my foundation on persistence.

My Dad loved me when he should have, and was hard on me when he was supposed to be. So on this day when so many of the father’s in our culture are more concerned with other things than their children; I just wanted to say kudos to those who are there to love and inspire their children and who step up to the plate to make a difference.

Without my dad you probably would not be reading this today as I probably would have decided to stick with the joys (just a hint of sarcasm) of my corporate job.

Instead I’ve pushed forward towards my goals as I recognized that there is just no way to make a significant difference in your family’s lives by working for someone else. My Dad always told me this but it can be so easy to mistake the success of a corporate job with any sort of freedom.

No matter how great a job that you have you are still limited in your income potential and in your vacation time. So after his operation his flying days were done and he moved on to his great time of entrepreneurship, gas stations ,helicopters, boats, computers. Everything did not pan out but he made it work.

So parents be sure to instill in your children a little bit more than the age old adage of “go to school, get good grades and get a good job.”

Instead encourage them to take the road less traveled. Encourage them to be their own boss and take their lives into their own hands. Above all else though encourage them to do something that they LOVE. They will be happier if they know that. All you need to do is support them in their happiness.

Life will throw you some curveballs but at least they’ll know what to expect when they come up to bat. Superman taught me to bat so I KNOW I’m going to be hitting homeruns.

Let me tell you prior to the call I was certainly unlucky enough to have never heard of Jerry before. By the end of the call I felt as if I was the luckiest man in the world.

Hi story was inspiring and influential and I wish that you could have been there with me to take it all in. It is one of those stories that makes you know that you can change your life no matter what.

He spoke of his humble beginnings and the path to being a self made millionaire by his early 20’s. This is a man who coaches and mentors millionaires and his inspiration shows no bounds. You can learn more about him and his work here.

Anyway lets get down to the real truths and the nitty gritty. Jerry was sure to share with us what he called the 3 Essential Prongs to becoming a millionaire.

1. Technical Know How (The How To’s): This is the first and probably the most dominant prong. This is the thing that most people will get stuck on in their business. People decide that all they need to do is learn everything they need to know and that alone will bring success. Show me how to build a capture page, show me how to do PPC, show me this , show me that…all of this is great in a logical world where everything falls into place. As it turns out though human beings are emotional creatures and we’re not able to properly implement this technical knowledge without appealing to not only our own emotions but the emotions of others. This is where the other 2 prongs come into play…

Internal Communication: This is where we find our visions and internally we find the clarity on the goals that we seek to accomplish. This is where you actually learn how to actually “make” yourself do the “How To’s” in #1. Another words, this is your soul searching and where you find the inner strength to be successful. In order to be successful it will take Time, Energy, Frustration and Change. Time in that “Rome was not built in a day”, be patient and you will find what you seek.
Energy, in that you will work harder than you ever have before.
Frustration in the failures and rejection that you will have and that you will use to power you forward.
Change is what will occur after you put the first three into play and you will change as a person and as a business person.

External Communication: After you have found the peace and skill within yourself the final prong or piece of the puzzle is to communicate with other people. In order to be successful in your business you HAVE to understand your target market and audience. We should all know relationships are the most important things in business and life and we have to understand that we need to connect with others and find out what their joys, pains, frustrations, fears, aspirations etc are. When you do this you’ll figure out how to connect with people and be more influential, be more persuasive because you have that connection to who they are and they will connect with you as well.

It is essential that we practice all 3 of these prongs in order to truly find our path to success. You can see how each one is connected to the other and how the final aspect is just true human connection and the building of relationships. If you want to be a millionaire you’re not going to sell and buy your own product so you need people. You have to have a yearning desire to figure out what they want and what moves them.

As usual hope you enjoyed my friends and be sure to check out Jerry’s coaching site here at Club Rhino.

As human beings we are conditioned fear failure of anything. You don’t want to fail your classes in school, you don’t want to fail in your relationships, you don’t want to fail in business. The list goes on and on.

But is failure really that bad? Sometimes it is that failure that keeps many people going and it is what builds the resilience that you need as an entrepreneur. You would not believe how many successful people will tell you the countless times that they failed before really finding their true success. Take someone like Tony Robbins…he actually hit rock bottom, gained weight and holed up in his house like a hermit before really coming out and tearing things up. The point is he took that low point in his life and turned it into an empire.

Are you getting the point here? Don’t be afraid to fail. Get rid of that Fear as it is nothing more than a fallacy. A cruel trick that our mind plays on us in order to supposedly keep us safe. Instead push forward, embrace it and watch as that fear of failure crumbles around you. Know that you are going to fail but set your mind steadfast that you will succeed no matter the price.

Check out this awesome post from Marie Forleo that gives you even more insight into why failure should just be a passing breeze in your life. Go here: http://briantomlinson.net/failure_good

So one of my mentors, Mr. Daegan Smith AKA “The King of Never Calling a Single Lead” had this awesome post the other day and he’s allowed me to share it with everyone.

He answers a major question that many of us in Network Marketing may have. What do I do if my company does not allow me to promote online. Another words you’re not able to use the company name in a website or even in a PPC ad. What do you do at that point? Isn’t it the whole point of learning all of the new skills that we’ve learnt to market on the Internet? To go out and promote your company, get leads etc etc? That may not be the direction to go in as you’ll soon find out and YOU are the key to it all.

Well here’s Daegan’s response and it shows the need for attraction marketing and providing value to everyone that you come in contact with.

Enjoy some quick feedback from one of the Kings of our Industry.

Promote Online

Body:

RE: What To Do If Your Company Won’t Let
You Promote Online (By Daegan Smith)

I just got a great question in from
Shannon Hanaway, that I think you may be
interested in the answer to:

“I’ve just been advised that my MLM
company won’t allow any website- outside
their provided template-that customers
can link back to for product information
and enrollment.

These are my products.

Am I dead in the water or do I just get
really creative?”

My Response:

Shannon,

Fantastic questions and by no means are
you dead in the water. You just have to
think a little bit differently about how
you introduce people to your
opportunity.

In all honesty, just sending people to
your companies website to learn about
your product line isn’t going to win you
many sales anyway, so it’s really more
of an non issue than you may think.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it
again. People don’t join opportunities,
they join people.

Therefore nothing that you do on the
front end of your business even needs to
ever mention your company. Let me
explain . . .

Your best prospects will always be the
doers like you. The people striving for
success.

What do doers look for?

Information and guidance.

This is all your business on the front
end should provide. People will join you
because they “know” and you’ve proven
you can help them, not because your moon
juice is cooler than the next companies.

So on the front end, do what I do.

Create your own newsletter. Your own
lead capture page. Communicate daily.

If you get adventurous create a front
end product that solves one of your
prospects major concerns.

1. Getting more leads 2. Making more
money 3. Recruiting without rejection

Allow them to purchase it from you and
then . . .

Once all your marketing costs are paid
for by your profits, on the back-end
give you your customers a call.

Ask how you can be of further service,
naturally they’ll be inquisitive as to
what else you’re up to.

There, right there, is the time you
bring up your back end company.

You may say, but “Daegan I can’t create
a product.”

I have two answers for you.

Yes you can and you don’t even need a
product to recruit online. It just makes
it easier.

Even if you were just to create your own
list online. Share stories and marketing
strategies daily, and as a call to
action at the end of your message you
said something like:

“If you’d like some personal help give
me a call between 4pm and 8pm tonight at
XXX-XXXX I’ll be in the office to help”

You’ll have people ringing your phone
off the hook all day and night. Trust me
on that one.

See how we never even bring up our
company online following this
methodology? Well, that’s exactly why
you’re in no way shape or form dead in
the water.

If you’d like to learn how to either
generate a boat load of leads, create
your first front end product, or create
a daily flow of profits, there is no
better place to learn these skills than
as a part of our family.

Watch this short presentation to learn
how to make that happen:

==> http://www.onlinewealthleverage.com

=============================================================

So to reiterate, here are the two things that you should really take from this.

1. There is no need to lead with your primary opportunity. People will be attracted to YOU not your company.
2. Creating your own products will be the best thing you ever do. This puts the power in your hands and not in the hands of your company.

Combine the creation of that product with a major launch just like what Mark Hoverson and Jonathan Budd are going to show you how to do with the MLM Launch Formula and you could well be on your way to freedom.

Today it just hit me to do a quick video post on why we need to take massive action in our lives and in our businesses. No matter how small the action is it is better than doing nothing at all. If we take that action we can at least get on the path to changing our lives. I also wanted to add this powerful video from Tony Robbins who talks about Sly Stallone’s story of Rocky and his will to keep on going.

Hopefully this helps you and gets you off your behind to do something, anything, to set yourself on the path that you are seeking.

One of the first mistakes that we tend to make as Network Marketers is pushing our companies product on our prospects. Now don’t get me wrong the product and company are very important aspects of the opportunity.

You want people to join a solid company with a unique product. Even though the product should not be the main point of your business it still is important.

However, lets be honest. No one comes running to you saying…”hey it’s my life long dream to sell or market some form of super juice”. Doesn’t sound familiar does it? Probably because no one comes around asking that question when they are looking at a Network Marketing opportunity.

What you do get is people wanting to make more money, wanting to have more time to themselves and for their family, people looking for freedom from a J.O.B.

What does that tell you? It tells me that maybe that’s what you need to be talking to your prospects about. Something like…”Hey Bob, let me help you and train you how you can go about making some extra income to help with the bills”. Or “Jane, let me show you how you can quit your job.” Or hey let me teach you something that will help make you self sufficient in starting and running your business.

That definitely sounds more like what people are looking for rather than the Super Kool-Aid or Batman Vitamins that most of us are pushing. Don’t let your prospects see you as the Jim Jones of Network Marketing. They really DON’T want your Kool-Aid.

So it’s pretty simple, have a solid company/opportunity behind of you but be sure to give people what they are looking for.

People are looking for leaders and teachers.

Plain and simple. So make sure you’re out there growing as a leader, no one ever said that a leader has to know all of the answers. I sure don’t expect my mentors to know the answer to every single question that I have, but I do expect that they care enough to make a best effort to help me find the answer.

Make sure that you are offering prospects solutions to their problems. At the end of the day their fate is in their hands and not yours, however you should still offer them all possibilities for them to grow their business and help them to grow into a leader as well. Remember, growing a team of 10 leaders is much more powerful than growing a team of 100 followers.
