Just to let you know, the best place in the world to buy both the Star Sapphire or Star Ruby is Thailand. I personnel bought a Star Ruby which here we'd call a Pink Star Sapphire. It's stunning! Both I and lonely planet suggest all jewelry purchases at Johny Gems, why the owner will give you good value for your money and will not over price/cheat you. Bangkok is full of very nice and pricey jewelry stores. I did check prices on a Star Sapphire at the biggest known jewelry store with I think 5 locations within country and prices were double. My sister shopped with Johny Gems in early 80's, when she lived in Korea. Thailand and Johny Gems is the only place she bought her jewelry. She personal new the Org. Own who past away in 2000. Son now owns and manages. We had bases there in the 60-early 90's and all American's shopped here. My last day, picking up my order, I met a woman from our US Embassy placing order. Her boss told her it's the only place in Thailand/Bangkok to buy jewelry, from an honest reputable dealer. So, with that said, any Sapphires, Star Ruby, Rubies, Australian Opals (they are sent to Thailand to be polished and set) should be purchase in Thailand and I'd purchase at Johny's.

I spent more then I'm willing to tell. But everything I personnel designed/ordered and picked up in 3 days. I placed a final order which I had shipped to my office. If you sees something or take image of what you want or just go and tell them the design. You'll love your Jewerly Purchase.

Watch out for the tak-tak drivers and their special rides-had one who tried to take me to another jewelry store and tell me it had changed names....but once you walk into Johny Gems -you'll know it's the right store. Just look up at all the photos of past customers!

my first Virgin Atlantic experience

To my fellow travelers-

I would like to share my Virgin Atlantic experience with you.

To begin with, check in is as smooth and courteous as it couldget--they even carry your luggage from the Upper Class check incounter! The Virgin Atlantic lounge at Heathrow T3 is mind-blowing.Among many other services, you can get a complimentary massage, facial,manicure, and even take a shower. Eat a-la-carte and sip some seriouslygood champagne. Everything that could make your trip as enjoyable andrelaxed as possible, and to have the most productive business meeting,Virgin will provide.

The 747-400 London to Miami (LHR-MIA) cabin has great lighting, andeven a walk-in onboard bar (perfect for snacking or trying liquorsonly available at the onboard lounge.) Service is impeccable and foodis far from the so-called "airplane food." Seats recline 180 degreesflat. Now, privacy may be an issue, as it may seem that seats are ontop of each other, BUT they are the absolute wonder for sleeping!

Make sure...... to check in at least 3 hours before your flight. As soon as you getto the lounge, go upstairs to the concierge level and book as manycomplimentary treatments as possible--for more info visithttp://www.virgin-atlantic.com/flash/clubhouse_phase2.html... you book your upper deck seat on the 747 well ahead of time. Thisis actually perfect for resting, as it is somewhat more private andrelaxing. If you want a conversation or you are looking for a bit morefun go down and sit by the bar.
